. . . . . .
Sofie was surprisingly the first one up (except for Louis, that doesn't count since he's been up.) She had a great idea, she was gonna make pancakes for everyone. She got the right ingredients with chocolate chips, skittles, frosting and maple syrup, she even put on her frilly pink apron for cooking. While she was cooking, she wanted to sing, so she did since no one was around;
"You can be the peanut butter to my jelly.
You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly.
You can be the captain and I can be your first mate.
You can be the chills that I feel on our first date."
Louis happened to walk in when she was singing. He tiptoed to a chair and sat down. He smirked a little, her soft voice was comforting, especially in the morning.
"You can be the hero and I can be your side kick!
You can be the tear that I cry if we ever split.
You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin.'
Or you can be the sun when it shines in the mornin.'"
Sofie was in her own little world when she sung. Well, except when she did it in front of friends, then she would be embarrassed and sing in an even smaller voice than normal. She would sometimes do moves that would fit with the lyrics.
"Don't know if I could ever be
Without you 'cause boy you complete me.
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need!
'Cause you're the apple to my pie (pie)
You're the straw to my berry (berry)
You're the smoke to my high (high)
And you're the one I wanna marry (marry!)
'Cause you're the one for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you (for you)
You take the both of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two~!
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two!
You can be the prince and I can be your princess.
You can be the sweet tooth I can be the dentist.
You can be the shoes and I can be the laces.
You can be the heart that I spill on the pages.
You can be the vodka and I can be the chaser
You can be the pencil and I can be the paper
You can be as cold as the winter weather
But I don't care as long as we're together~!
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you 'cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need!"
Matthieu woke up to the sound of. . . singing? He was confused until he looked at his surroundings and remembered last night. His headache was present as ever and he winced at the sunlight and the pain.
He tried to stand up, but then a splitting pain ran down his legs, he hissed at the pain. Sofie heard this and took off her apron and sped walked to him. Instantly, he tried to make himself comfortable again. But, he was even struggling with that.
"Are you okay Matthieu?" Sofie asked as she helped him lean on her and tried to make him sit down.
He blushed, but shrugged. "It's fine. I'm exaggerating."
Sofie rolled her eyes while she put his leg up and he groaned. She said "Do you expect me to believe that?" She paused, "I'll get you some black coffee and ibuprofen, you're not moving an inch today and I mean it!" She said as she pointed a finger to him.
He rolled his eyes and she went into the bathroom to find it. He felt helpless, she was the weak one, not him! He should be fetching her ibuprofen, not the other way around! While he was steaming about it, Louis came into the living room and said "She was singing."
"Yeah, I thought for a second that a flock of birds would follow her with how chipper she is in the morning."
Louis chuckled a little at that. Sofie came from the bathroom and went to get his coffee, she came back and gave him the ibuprofen and coffee. "There you go. I'm getting breakfast ready, any requests? There's chocolate chips, frosting, sprinkles, butter pecan syrup, the really expensive kind of syrup, and skittles."
"Skittles?"
"Hey, don't knock it until you try it." Sofie said and pointed to him, then smiled. "So which one?"
"So with the syrup, is it 100% real?"
She nodded, he said "That one then."
"Okay," she turned around to find Louis on the couch. She was startled by it, but continued "Oh Louis, like I said to Matthieu, I'm making pancakes. How do you want yours?"
"Eh anything's fine." He shrugged.
"Even with frosting, sprinkles, skittles and chocolate chips in them?" Sofie said with a small smirk.
"Do you want me to have diabetes?" Louis said, almost turning green at the mere thought.
"That's what I thought, so just plain then?" He nodded and she said "Okay, I don't want Oliver to help out, so yeah, that's why I'm doing these right now." She went back into the kitchen and put her apron back on and hummed the rest of the song that she was singing before.
Alex started to wake up and had a splitting headache, he mumbled "Damn, how much did I drink?"
"A lot." Matthieu stated simply as he sipped his bitter coffee. Alex tried to stand up, but he yelled. Again, Sofie went to what was the matter.
She sped walked in the living room and asked "Alex are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"No you aren't." Sofie said as he helped him sit down and put his leg on the pillow.
"Then why did you ask?" He growled.
"I wanted to know specifically what it was." Sofie sighed "Is it the hangover or your legs?"
"Both."
"I'll get you ibuprofen and black coffee then before I ask what kind of pancakes you want. Like Matthieu, you are not moving an inch today."
He rolled his eyes and she went into the bathroom to get the pills. He shouted "I'm not helpless, you know that right?"
Sofie's head popped out of the bathroom and she said "I didn't say anything about helpless Alex." and her head popped back in and she finally found them. She got the coffee for him in a dark green cup, she asked "Why would I say that?" When she came to him and handed him the items.
He only got angrier since he had no response for it. "So," Sofie chirped "Since your up, do you want pancakes?" Alex nodded as he gulped down the pills. "Okay, there's frosting, chocolate chips, butter pecan syrup, really expensive syrup, skittles-"
"Skittles?"
She nodded "There's also sprinkles!"
"Uh, chocolate chip."
She nodded and said "Oh, can you tell Oliver that if he wants pancakes that he has to come into the kitchen? It'll be a lot shorter of a wait for everyone that way."
The three nodded and Sofie smiled, she walked back into the kitchen and put her apron back on.
Both Alex and Matthieu grumbled at the same time "I'm not weak." The two looked at each other and growled, Louis rolled his eyes.
"Calm down you two." Louis said simply "We're probably going to be here for the weekend from the way Sofie is treating it."
"The weekend?" The two said in both frustration and confusion.
"Maybe."
At that moment, Sofie decided to sing loudly for her usual voice, so it was basically talking level for most.
"Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to restaurant
Don't you cry no more~!"
The three looked at the kitchen doorway when her singing stopped abruptly. Alex asked "Did she do this when I was asleep?"
Louis and Matthieu nodded. "Sweet, she knows Kansas." Alex said with a usual smirk.
"Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high."
After a few minutes of not singing, she came in the room with three plates. Louis asked "You need help?"
"Nope but thank you for being considerate." She said as she put Alex's breakfast on his lap and then Matthieu's. She handed Louis his breakfast last, and Sofie went back into the kitchen. And that was when Oliver woke up.
He was confused by all of the bright light and the bright pink blanket until he remembered what happened last night. He rose up immediately, not even acknowledging the other's breakfasts.
His socks slid on the hardwood of the kitchen and Sofie turned her head, she smiled and greeted "Hey Ollie, I'm making pancakes for everyone. What do you want on or in your pancakes?"
"Um, let's see what's here." He said as he went by here to look at the ingredients. "Skittles? I never tried that before!"
"I bet you would like them." Sofie commented, "Everyone thought it was weird. I mean doesn't it sound awesome just thinking about it?"
He nodded enthusiastically, he was grateful that she was a morning person like him. "I would like the frosting, sprinkles of course, chocolate chips and the skittles."
"Okay, coming up." Sofie said with a smile. "just so you know, everyone is eating in the living room. I didn't want Alex and Matthieu by themselves so yeah."
"Can I help?" Oliver asked her.
"Nope, not today. You were so helpful with the popcorn last night, I think I should do this solo." She replied as he put the skittles, cinnamon, and chocolate chips in all four pancakes that were meant for him.
"Oh but please?" Oliver begged.
"Nope." She said sweetly. "Your four are my guests."
"Okay, but if you need help, I can take over."
She smiled as she flipped a pancake "I'll keep that in mind." Oliver went to the fridge to get himself some milk and poured himself a glass and sat down at the table. Ever since last night, what she said about them bothered him.
"Sofie?" She hummed in question and he continued "Is what you said yesterday true?"
"About what?"
"About if you try to be a good person then you are. Do you honestly believe that?"
Sofie turned to him and she frowned, she knew that look. It looked like he wanted to believe it, but didn't. She said in a caring voice "Of course Ollie, I wouldn't have said that if I didn't honestly believe that."
"Then why do you think that the whole thing with Sadik was good?"
"Well, your heart was in the right place Ollie. I know now that you were just looking out for me." Sofie said and then came to him to put her hand on his shoulder. "Let's forget about the incident, alright?"
He smiled and nodded. "I swear you came from heaven Sofie." He said to her.
Sofie's face turned pink and she laughed awkwardly "Oh Ollie, I don't know about that." She looked at the pancakes and needed to flip them again.
Everyone had their pancakes now and Oliver was running his mouth while Sofie sometimes nodded or put a comment in. Her grandparents woke up and she asked them what they wanted for their pancakes and since they wanted them plain, she could get to work on them immediately.
Her grandma mostly took Sofie's place when Oliver was talking. Her grandpa got his coffee and sat down with the rest of them. Sofie came back with her grandparent's pancakes and she sat in between them since there was room for her.
She asked "Did you guys have a good sleep?"
Her grandma said "Yes, we just went out like candles!" With a snap, her grandpa nodded since he was in the middle of eating.
When Matthieu and Alex were finished with their food, Sofie got their plates along with hers and her grandparent's and put them in the sink and rinsed both hers and Matthieu's since they had syrup on theirs.
She sat back down on the couch and sighed in content. Her grandma said "Oh honey, your mom is coming at eleven instead."
"She is?" Sofie asked, sitting up a little.
Her grandma nodded "Yes, she wanted to take you somewhere, but she said she wanted it to be a surprise."
"Cool!"
"You meet your mom on the weekends Sofie?" Oliver asked her, she nodded.
"Yeah and my dad visits every other weekend." Sofie said to him.
"I'm so sorry they're divorced poppet." Oliver said with a slight frown.
"Oh, don't worry." Sofie reassured "They've been divorced for a while anyway."
Everyone got ready for the day except Louis, Matthieu and Alex. Sofie wanted a different set of clothes than she usually has since it was the weekend and her mom wanted to take her somewhere. She wore a red turtleneck with very long sleeves, black leggings with a plaid skirt and uggs to go with the outfit, and finally on her head was a headband that was a dark red like one of the colors in her skirt.
She got a box of pocky for her to snack on while she waited for her mom to come.
Sofie loved both her mom and dad, but when it came to the divorce, she couldn't choose. (She was nine for crying out loud and they were tempting her with presents and all of these different things.) So, to not break either of their hearts, she lives with her grandparents on her mom's side.
Even now, they try to bribe her, but she knows not to be swooned by either since they are a little crazy. If she did live with her mom, she would have to move in a different town and for her dad, she wouldn't have everything that she had now.
When they were married though, their crazy just kinda melted with each other. But now, it was just odd for the three of them to be in the same room.
But, she knew that living with her grandparents would be the best because of child support and all of that. Also, her grandparents treated her like a normal person and not like she was made out of diamonds. Besides, she always felt a little bad when her parents would spend a lot on her. Even though she thinks it's really sweet, she doesn't like the excessive attention in that way.
The door opened and she heard the click of high heels, she knew it was her mom. Her mom was quite a bit different from her daughter, like how she's about six feet tall with heels on or the tan that she has all year round. She had honey blonde hair and looked like she came straight from California with her fashion tastes. She had a smile showing blinding white teeth and it was noticeable by the wrinkles around her mouth and the crow's feet by her eyes also. She was known as Florentina Smith to most people except her daughter and Sofie's step dad.
She came into the living room and said "Oh Sofie~! I-" She flinched when she saw the four in the living room. She asked "Sofie, what are these people doing here?"
"Oh, the two on the couch that have the Pokemon blanket got into a fight and their legs are in really bad shape, so I decided for them to stay at the house until they can walk on their feet again."
"How nice of you sweetie~!" She fawned. She introduced herself to the four and said "It's so nice to meet some of Sofie's friends!" She turned to her daughter "I thought that it would be a great idea for us to go ice skating since it's turning cold now."
"Ice skating?" Sofie gasped in excitement "Yay! I've always wanted to learn how to ice skate! Let's go!"
Her mom smiled and Sofie got her coat, mittens and a hat on "Later you guys, no fighting while I'm gone." She teased them.
They smiled and they were off. When Sofie closed the door, Oliver chirped "She's so nice." with his usual smile.
"Damn she's tall." Alex commented.
. . .
Sofie and her mom finally got to the skating rink and her step dad was already waiting for them.
Her step father's name is Arron Smith and he's American, but his father and mother came from Cuba. He's a man of few words and he was incredibly rich. Sofie likes him because he can be very generous and nice. He has long nappy black hair that are in dreads in the moment and he usually keeps in a ponytail and wears a suit most of the time. But on weekends like this, he usually wears a hockey jersey and jeans.
Sofie put her coat with her mom and tied her skates on her feet and waddled to the rink. Her mom decided to watch her because she had a problem with her ankles and she couldn't do things like ride a bike or ice skate.
Sofie kinda got the hang of it with the help of her mother telling her how, her mom left after she thought that she got the hang of it. She skated a couple of feet ahead until she fell on her butt. She kept doing this over and over until someone that she didn't know asked "Hey, are you okay?"
She looked up to find a blonde with kind lavender eyes look at her in concern. She was surprised, she thought that only people in her club could see her. Maybe it was a select few then?
Sofie smiled and said "Oh, I think I'm fine. I just need to get the hang of it first." She got up from the floor and tried to balanced, "Se-" She started to get unsteady "Woah!" She was about to fall when the guy caught her.
"Be careful." He said with concern.
"I think I might need help." And laughed a little.
"Do you wanna hold my arm and skate with me then?" He asked with a blush on his cheeks, she nodded shyly and clung onto his arm and tried her best to honestly skate without falling or doing the splits. He asked "Have you ever done this before?"
"No, this is my first time actually." She admitted and laughed awkwardly.
He gave her a small smile and said "Don't worry about it." He paused a little and started "Look down at my feet." She did and he said "Just shuffle first," She followed his direction and he said "Yeah, that's great." They did it for about a minute and he said "Okay, now let's try walking." She took longer strides and she almost did the splits. He caught her again and pulled her up "Don't worry, I got you."
. . .
Meanwhile, three guys that were around the same height were talking outside the rink, but the blonde one with glasses said "I wonder what Ravis is doing."
The brunette with shoulder length hair suggested "He's probably doing all of those moves right now, he's been on the ice for a few minutes."
The two went by the rink and they spotted their cousin and he was with. . A girl? "Huh?" The two asked simultaneously and then looked at each other, they blinked.
Even if the three weren't the most outgoing with their other cousin, they could be outgoing together and mischievous, of course with the help of Feliks. "Ravis!" Feliks called out.
Ravis said "Feliks? Why would he-" He looked over to find his cousin Eduard putting his arms up and making his hands go down for it to represent a heart. Sofie looked, but Eduard put his hands down before she could see.
Ravis immediately turned red and shouted "Don't do that!" Toward them.
"Do what?" Sofie asked him.
"N-nothing. Anyway, let's continue." She nodded and so they did.
Sofie got the hang of it now and she could skate very fast. Ravis thought that she was doing good enough that they could do a race. When she slowed down, he asked "Wanna have a race?"
Sofie smiled and nodded. He said "Okay, whoever is a lap ahead of the other wins. Ready, set. . . go!" They were head to head and Ravis got more speed. There's no way she's letting him win! She got more speed to where she could say "Eat my ice Ravis!" and she laughed.
Ravis smiled and started to catch up to her, avoiding the people that were in front of him. He started to catch up to her when he got blocked by a group of people skating slowly. He skated around them, but he saw Sofie right behind him, he kept skating, but it seemed she was too quick for him and passed him. She twirled around, skating backwards and checking her back every few seconds.
She smirked and said smugly "I win." with a few pants.
Ravis finally caught up to her now since she was on the wall now, he said "Want to take a break?" He asked her, panting every few seconds.
"Sure, sounds good." Sofie said and smiled. She skated to the carpet area and sat on a bench, he copied her and sat on the same bench where they took their skates off. "That was fun."
"Yeah it was." He said with a smile. "Do you want to get something to eat?"
She nodded and the two walked over to the concessions. He asked "What do you want?"
"Oh me?" She paused "Uh, a pretzel sounds really good."
"That does sound good." When they got in front of the line, he ordered for the both of them. Sofie was about to get her money out, but Ravis said "Dont worry, I got it."
"Oh thank you." She said with a smile, he nodded. They got their pretzel and sat down on the bench where they were sitting at.
He asked "What's your name?"
"Sofie," She said as she took a small piece off of the soft pretzel. He paled though, she asked "What's wrong Ravis? It looks like you've seen a ghost."
"No, I'm just seeing my spirit taking off early before Ivan kills me." He mumbled to himself.
"Why would Ivan kill you?" She asked him. "Oh my gosh, I didn't realize, you're his cousin!" He took his hand and shook it vigorously "I've been wanting to meet you actually!"
"Y-you have?" He said in astonishment. For one of Ivan's friends, she seems completely harmless. In fact, it doesn't seem like she would hurt a fly! So, how is she friends with Ivan out of all of the people? "H-how are y-you fr-friends with him?"
"He was in my club and we just got finished with a soccer game when I saw him out on the field alone. I thought of the best way to cheer him up and we've been friends ever since."
Yet again he was surprised by this. She wasn't scared of him either? He asked "Y-you weren't s-scared?"
"I was a little. But, at least I had my-" She looked around to try and find her bunny "Where's my bunny?!"
"Where did you see it last?" He asked her.
"I think I took it with me. . . Wait, no I left it on my bed. Never mind."
"You carry a toy bunny with you?" Ravis asked. She nodded and Ravis yet again was stunned. 'She is almost the exact opposite, how does she even know him?'
"Yeah I know, a little childish huh?"
"No no no!" He said, not wanting to offend her "It's just different, that's all."
Sofie giggled and said "It's okay if you think it is."
He just shook his head. Sofie only giggled "Oh, are your other cousins here?"
"Yes, do you want to meet them?" He asked. She nodded and Ravis looked for his cousins, he spotted them and walked to them, they were hanging out by the vending machine and Eduard was on his phone and Feliks went behind Toris when he glanced over to the two.
Eduard asked "So is this your new girlfriend?"
Both Ravis and Sofie's faces were red. The shorter of the two stuttered "W-what?"
Eduard and the brunette laughed at the two's reaction. Eduard was the first one to hold out his hand "Hello, my name's Eduard."
She smiled and said "Hi Eduard." She turned to the other and said "I'm guessing your Toris right?"
"How did you know?" He asked as he shook her hand.
"Ravis told me about you guys." Sofie replied. She didn't want a repeat with Ravis and his reaction with her knowing Ivan. "So uh, what do you guys do for fun?"
"Oh, uh I play chess sometimes, I also like to read and practice karate." Toris said and gave her a smile.
"Tumblr. All day, everyday." Eduard replied.
Sofie gasped deeply and she was so excited, you could practically see stars in her eyes. "You have a tumblr?!"
He only nodded slowly. She was bouncing on her heels and asked "What's your url?"
He told her his and she told him hers too. Eduard was wide eyed when she said hers, he said "You know all of those anons that you get?" She nodded, "They were. . .me."
She had a big goofy grin on and her face was pink, she gave him a bear hug and said excitedly "Oh my gosh, you are so sweet! I can't believe I know the anon now since it was bothering me for so long!"
Eduard only smiled awkwardly, he mouthed 'what do I do?'
The cousins and Feliks shrugged. Sofie opened her eyes again and said "Whoops, I forgot something." She turned over to Toris since she could see that someone was behind him. She said to him in a kind voice "I'm sorry for not introducing myself to you." She stuck out her hand and greeted "Hi, I'm Sofie. What's your name?"
"I'm sorry Sofie," Toris said to the small girl, she looked up at him. "He's shy in front of strangers, he'll get used to you in time. Unless if he knows you from the internet, then he'll really be forward."
"Well, I have a tumblr, a twitter, facebook of course but I barely go on it anymore because both my mom and dad are on there, 4chan, wattpad account, deviantart, and a pinterest."
"Oh, Feliks has a pinterest and a twitter!" Toris said cheerfully, maybe his friend can get out of his shell!
Sofie listed off her pinterest, then her twitter. That caught Felik's attention, that was the twitter that he always retweeted from! He stood up more and hugged the small girl "Omg! I can't believe I'm meeting the one I always retweet from! I mean, your tweets are so cute and the one about bra sizes, I was dying!"
Sofie smiled and said "Oh, then you must be that one who gives fashion advice and makeup tips right?"
"Totally!" Feliks replied.
"You looked nice in a dress at halloween." Sofie complimented.
"Girl, I always look flawless in a dress." Feliks said to her.
Sofie asked "You wear a dress on other days then too?" She didn't ask in disgust, more in interest than anything.
"Sure, some days I don't though like today." Feliks let go of her and showed her what he was wearing. He was wearing a tank top that had cheetah print on it and to go with it was a green button up shirt over it and his boots were tan and had a small heel.
Sofie gasped and said "Where did you get those awesome boots from? I think I'm gonna steal them from you."
"These are two hundred dollar boots, I don't think you wanna pay for these Sofie and they were from ebay, they came from France."
"Ooh!" Sofie said as she looked at them. She asked "Can I take some pics then?"
"Oh sure girl! Go ahead!" With that, she took out her iPod and took a few pics of the boots.
Eduard coughed in his fist, when she was finished with taking pics of the boots she turned to all of them. She laughed awkwardly and said "Sorry." To all of them. She asked "Hey Eduard, you don't mind taking some pics with me, do you?"
He said "I don't mind." She smiled and she came up to him and they took some pics. She said to the rest "Sorry again, I'm so spacey. Uh, do any of you have a 3ds?"
Everyone said "Yes." At the question. She squeed and said "When we meet again, we should totally play something because I don't have mine with me right now and I totally should've."
The five sat down on the floor and just talked until her mom went over to her and said "Okay sweetie, time to go."
Sofie nodded and got up "See you later guys."
They got up and waved her goodbye. When she was out of there, Ravis said "To think that she's one of Ivan's friends."
The rest of them stopped and stood still, Eduard said "Why didn't you tell us this before?!"
Toris said "I can see why Ravis would tell us now. It would've been awkward if he told us this sooner and we were scared of someone like that."
. . . . . .
Yes! Finally introduced the Baltic trio! Never ice skated before, so I hope the small instructions were actually correct! So, review follow or favorite, I really appreciate it if you do!
