Chapter 37: The Afternoon After

(Soul Society 3rd Person POV)

Ichigo groaned when he felt the morning rays of sun shine through the open blinds and blinked open his eyes and immediately noticed he wasn't in an entirely familiar room. For only about a moment he wasn't sure where he was until he remembered what happened last night and he immediately blushed as he started to recall the night before. For a moment he wasn't sure if it was just a dream or not and glanced down to see Mizuki sleeping peacefully with her head resting against his shoulder. At the sight of her sleeping soundly he couldn't help but smirk and lie back down, running his fingers down her back since he didn't have the energy to actually get up yet.

Although he was still half asleep he was happy that it wasn't a dream and closed his eyes again to try to go back to sleep again since it didn't seem that late and he was still tired from fighting Aizen yesterday anyway. However just as the substitute soul reaper was about to fall asleep again there was loud footsteps before someone knocked on the door. "Lieutenant Yasuko? It's me." Rukia called before the door started to open and Ichigo immediately shot up, surprisingly not waking the sleeping girl as the door opened and Ichigo immediately went red when he remembered that he was still naked under the sheets. As soon as the door opened Rukia's eyes widened before she slapped a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud her face going red from holding back her laughter.

"R-Rukia close the door!" He scolded her nervously, narrowing his eyes at her when he saw her laughing at the sight of them together. The dark haired girl ignored his plea as she laughed, pulling her hand away from her mouth.

"I knew it! I told you that you had feelings for Mizuki!" Rukia gloated as she chuckled, grasping the door again and started to close it. "When Mizuki wakes up tell her that Captain Ukitake is looking for her." She added teasingly with another laugh as she closed the door and walked off. Ichigo's blush eventually diminished as he glanced down to the blonde girl whose eyes began to twitch and she eventually began to wake up.

As she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes her dark green grey orbs blinked open and met Ichigo's gaze, a sleepy smile finding its way to her face. "Morning Ichigo." Mizuki told him as her arms wrapped around him to press herself against him, blissfully unaware of Rukia's visit. The substitute soul reaper smirked at her and pushed a piece of her hair out of her face.

"Good morning." He told her and watched her smile and stretched under the blanket, it made his fingers twitch at his side as feelings of need from last night resurfaced when he realized they were still naked except for the blanket.

However he quickly shook off the feeling when he remembered what Rukia told him. "Rukia just stopped in, she said that your uncle's looking for you." Ichigo told her.

Mizuki's sleepy face jumped to life at the statement. "Really?" She asked when he nodded she sighed, rolling out of bed and leaving the blanket behind her as she walked over to a small dresser. She was a bit stiff and sore but with a sigh Mizuki easily overlooked the small discomfort knowing it would go away. But Ichigo's face went bright red when he saw her naked body and looked the other way, even though he had already seen her naked he was still not used to it. She noticed he was oddly quiet as she got out a pair of underwear and turned around as she put on the bra and panties and smiled when she noticed the blush on his face. "Don't worry I'm decent now." She told him with a chuckle.

Ichigo
glanced over at her and rolled his eyes at the statement, reaching over the bed and grabbing his boxers on the floor and put them on underneath the covers before standing up and gathering the rest of his cloths. "So Rukia just walks in your room often or is today special?" He asked with a chuckle as he pulled his shirt over his head.

The blonde girl laughed nervously, scratching the back of her head as she put on a clean uniform. "Well only when I'm sleeping in late for work, I guess you wore me out more than I thought last night." Mizuki told him innocently but the last part made his face go bright red which she smiled at. Immediately his mind went right back to last night with memories that brought back feelings of need. "What'd Rukia say when she saw us anyway?" She asked in curiosity.

The substitute soul reaper scoffed at the question as he finished getting dressed. "She kept saying 'I told you so'. Not the greatest thing to hear when you first wake up." He told her, sitting back down on the bed as he watched her put her shirt on before walking over to him.

At first Ichigo was confused when she stood in front of him and smirked. "I think I know something better to wake up to." Mizuki told him and leaned forward to press her lips against his gently, Ichigo relaxed visibly when she did. As she tried to draw back he pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, his tongue finding hers and fighting her in a playful way that made her smile. After a few minutes they both pulled away to lightly pant for breathe, she smiled over at him as she stood up straight. "You know you should really go back home, I'm sure your family and friends want you to go back too. Your family's probably worried sick about you." She told him and Ichigo sighed.

"You're probably right. I'm pretty sure Orihime, Chad and Uryu said yesterday that we were leaving today." Ichigo said as he stood up and put his zanpakuto on his back before looking over at her. "When can I see you again?" He asked curiously and she smiled over at him.

"Uncle Joshiro isn't going to make me do that much work, I'll stop by and see you later today if that's alright." Ichigo nodded and they both walked out of her room, she shot him a smile as she waved to him and straightened her Lieutenant's badge on her arm. "I'll see you later Ichigo." She told him and was about to spin around and walk to the office when she felt his hand grasp her wrist lightly.

She gave him a little confused look before he smirked at her and she found her thoughts wiped away as he carefully tilted her head up and pressed his lips against hers gently. It was more innocent than anything and she found it over before she could really respond and he shot her another smirk before pulling away. "Bye Mizuki, I'll see you in a little bit." He told her before walking off to find his friends and Mizuki found herself watching him walk away, pressing her fingers against her lips. He just kissed her in public and she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed since she never really had a boyfriend before but after a moment she smiled at the warmth and butterflies she felt. Spinning on her heel with a smile on her face she walked towards her office, ready to start her day.

(13th Division Office, Mizuki's POV)

I sighed as I made my way down the hallway, my heart still pounding from when Ichigo kissed me but as the giddiness faded my smile still stayed on my face unable for me to get rid of it. I glanced around the division as I walked down the hall, my eyes taking in the courtyard and the familiar subordinates that stopped to say hello to me, happy with the way that everything seemed to be back to normal. I liked how things were back to the way they were before Aizen messed it all up and I knocked once or twice as I got to the office of the Division.

Stepping in without waiting for permission since I was a Lieutenant and didn't need permission to walk into my own office. As I stepped into the office I was immediately met with the sound of talking and work getting done, a comforting sound that reminded me that everything was the same again. "Oh Mizuki! There you are I was wondering where you were!" Glancing up I was met with my white haired uncle's smiling face as he sat behind his desk doing paperwork. Kiyone and Sentaro were running around like chickens without heads, running about the office sorting out the finished paperwork from the uncompleted papers. They both shouted hello to me as they did their work and I shot them a smile and waved to them as I tried not to distract them from their work.

"Sorry Captain, I overslept I guess I stayed out a little too late last night." I explained to him with a small laugh as I tried not to think back to last night and tried to control a blush as the thoughts of last night crossed my mind.

As I walked over to my desk I smile as I noticed that most of my things were still in place except for a stray pile or two of uncompleted paperwork that Kiyone and Sentaro had neglected. The white haired man laughed at what I said as he wrote on papers in front of him. "It's fine don't be so uptight Mizuki, I won't get mad at you for being a little late on your first day back. Most of the officers showed up still half-drunk front last night, besides it was a night to celebrate!" Ukitake told me in a casual way.

I smiled, knowing I had missed my uncle's laid back attitude and working with him when they mostly talked though work. "Thanks Captain. So you had fun with Captain Kyoraku last night?" I asked out of curiosity since I hadn't seen much of him after work was finished last night.

His smile widened as he nodded to me. "Yes we did actually, Unohana even came by to stay for a while. I only got back to the division a little while ago." Ukitake explained to me in his usual up beat and happy tone and I smiled with a nod once he mentioned Unohana.

I always had a feeling about Unohana and my uncle, I was aware they were close friends for a long time but it always seemed like they were closer than that and I smirked at him as I continued filling out paperwork. "Well I'm that glad you had fun Captain, I bet you had fun with Captain Unohana." I told him in a slightly teasing voice.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw my uncle give me an innocently confused look, tilting his head to the side. "Huh? What do you mean?" He asked in curiosity and I heard the co-third seats giggle and pause from their work.

"It means that you have a crush on Captain Unohana!" Kiyone and Sentaro yelled out in a sing-song voice and we all laughed as we watched our Captain's face light up to a bright red.

Ukitake immediately yelled out and denied it, trying to get us to futilely stop laughing our asses off but none of the three of us paid him none attention as we laughed loudly. I felt my face go red as it became hard to breathe but I heard the door to the office open after a moment and I looked over slightly teary eyed and saw Rukia standing in the doorway a confused look on her face. "What did I miss?" The dark haired girl asked me since Kiyone and Sentaro were currently on the floor laughing and hadn't realized she was there yet.

I wiped my eyes from the water in my eyes from laughing, stifling my giggles as I looked over at her and shook my head at her. "N…Nothing we're just teasing Ukitake for liking Captain Unohana." I told her as I caught my breathe and tried to do the paperwork in front of me however out of the corner of my eyes I saw her smirk at me suggestively. Then however I remembered how Ichigo told me she walked in my room earlier and saw me and Ichigo together and I immediately blushed. We exchanged a knowing look as our Captain tried to stop the co-third seats from laughing. Mentally I told her to not tell my Captain before I got the chance to tell him on my own but I could tell she wanted to take the chance to embarrass me and get a good laugh out of it.

Ukitake sighed as the third seats began to stop laughing and caught their breath, the white haired Captain smiled to Rukia as he saw her standing next to my desk. "Rukia, thank you for delivering that paperwork to the 12th Division." He told her as he took his seat at his desk.

"Of course Captain it was no problem at all." The dark haired fourth seat explained to Ukitake as she leaned against my desk and Kiyone and Sentaro continued on with their paperwork as they ease dropped in on our conversation again.

Ukitake smiled to Rukia with gratitude as I went back to my work. "What about you Mizuki? Did you have fun last night? Rukia was telling me before that you all went to the bar." The white haired man asked me curiously in an innocent voice and I tried to hide my blush as I immediately thought back to Ichigo and how he stayed over last night.

I looked up at him, trying to push away my blush and I stood up as I picked up a finished pile of paperwork and tried to walk it over to my Captain's desk. I was about to tell him that I had fun but I decided not to tell him about Ichigo until we were alone and I could tell him without getting embarrassed however I was cut off as Kiyone giggled as I made it to Ukitake's desk. "Oh Lieutenant Yasuko had plenty of fun last night." She said suggestively to my Captain, I glanced up at her seriously and mentally I yelled at her to shut up but she only smirked.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Ukitake asked innocently, glancing from me to Kiyone and Sentaro who was also laughing. I even heard a snicker from Rukia behind me as I walked the papers over to my desk, shooting them all dirty looks when my uncle wasn't looking.

I prayed mentally that they all got the hint that I wanted to tell my Captain about me and Ichigo on my own terms and certainly not in front of a group of people. "Well while me and Sentaro were on patrol last night we saw Lieutenant Mizuki holding hands with the substitute soul reaper Ichigo!" She told him excitedly.

"Kiyone shut up!" I yelled at her, no longer able to hold back my blush any longer.

However the co 3rd seat only laughed more before my uncle had me in a bear hug. "Aw that's the sweetest news I've ever heard! I'm so happy for you for finally finding someone for yourself Mizuki!" Ukitake cried out happily, I sighed but none the less hugged my Captain back.

"Thanks Captain." I told him as I hugged him but as I saw the three lower ranked officers in the room snickering at me I glared at them as my Uncle couldn't see, mentally letting them all know I'd get them to pay.

(Karakura Town, 3rd Person POV)

Ichigo sighed as he flash stepped through the streets of Karakura as he made his way towards his house. He was glad to be back in town again even though he still missed Mizuki and he was happy that she was coming over later. Flash stepping over the street he noticed that the sun was only just beginning to rise so he figured that he could possibly get some sleep for a few hours or so. "Hey! Ichigo!" He heard a loud voice call out and he stopped running and he stood on a low rooftop as he looked back and raised an eyebrow in confusion as he looked down to the street.

His eyes narrowed when he saw Kon running towards him in his body like when he had left for the soul society and Ichigo scowled as he jumped down to the street. "Kon what the hell are you doing? Why aren't you in my room?" He asked pissed off that the mod soul had most likely taken out his body and gotten him in some trouble or ruined his reputation in some way.

The mod soul laughed at him. "Chill out I was just having some fun! Besides I wasn't expecting you to be back so soon, how'd it go?" Kon asked mildly interested.

Ichigo rolled his eyes and sighed as he knew he would have to fix whatever mess he had made, running his hand through his hair. "Considering everything I guess it went pretty good. Me and Mizuki finished off Aizen." He told the mod soul casually.

Kon raised an eyebrow at him. "Wait, wasn't she in prison?" He asked in confusion and Ichigo nodded immediately and watched the mod soul smirk suggestively at him. "Oh so you got your girl and you beat Aizen too huh-?" The mod soul nudged him suggestively but Ichigo cut him off in annoyance and pushed himself back into his own body, catching the pill as he sighed as he put Kon into his pocket.

Making his way to his house he was careful to go through the front door quietly and shut it behind him to try not to wake his family. "Hello?" A familiar voice called and he looked up to see Yuzu walk over to the kitchen doorway and she smiled at him widely once she saw him. "Oh hey Ichigo, what's up?" She asked happily despite the fact that it was very early in the morning and he smiled at the sight.

"Hey Yuzu, what are you doing?" The orange haired man asked as he walked over to the kitchen as she walked back inside and he saw her cooking.

The short haired brunette girl smiled to him as she moved around some eggs on the pan in front of her. "I'm just making some breakfast, Karin and dad should be down any minute." Yuzu told him as he nodded and made his way over to the fridge and got a drink, about to ask her something when he closed the door. Promptly as he turned around he managed to duck as his father jumped towards him to kick him but ended up flying into the wall instead.

"Morning Dad." Ichigo said as he glanced over at the older man as he slid face down on the wall before jumping to his feet.

"Hey Ichigo! You're back earlier than I expected son!" Isshin yelled out happily as Yuzu finished up cooking and started getting some plates out.

The brunette haired girl giggled at her older brother and dad, nervously interrupting them. "How about you two go sit down, everything will be done in a few minutes." Yuzu told them, noticing how the kitchen was a bit more cramped than usual with the two of them fighting as usual.

Ichigo and his dad were quick to make their way to the dining room and sat down as Karin walked in, yawning as he rubbed her eyes to get rid of the sleep in them. "Hey guys." The dark haired girl mumbled in a tired voice as she sat down at the table.

"Good morning honey! How'd you sleep?" Isshin asked in a concerned yet energetic voice and Karin groaned in annoyance, covering her ears to block out her father's obnoxious voice that was giving her a headache since she had just woke up.

Yuzu walked in with a few plates of hot food and set them down with a smile as everyone thanked her. They all ate in almost silence as they ate for a few moments before the dark haired older man smiled over at his son, trying to make conversation. "So where were you stay last night Ichigo?" Isshin asked curiously with a smile as he took a bite of his breakfast.

Ichigo shrugged. "At a friend's house." He answered casually and wasn't even really lying to his father his friend's house just happened to be in a completely different world.

His dad smiled at him. "Sounds like fun, which friend's house?" Isshin questioned innocently and Ichigo knew he had to tell him anything quick before his father got suspicious.

"Mizuki's." He answered without thinking and the next moment the room fell silent and Karin coughed on her cereal as she and Yuzu looked at her brother wide eyed the spoon in her hand falling to the table. Ichigo lightly blushed when he realized he wasn't lying like he was supposed to and he saw all of his family staring at him like he had three heads or something.

Before he could even try to lie his way out of it his father finally had an emotion that wasn't shock anymore. Abruptly his father tackled him out of his chair and hugged his son with bruising tight force as they fell to the floor. "My son finally has a girlfriend, I'm so proud of you Ichigo!" Isshin yelled loud enough for the neighbors to hear making Ichigo's face go bright red when he said girlfriend.

"Shut up!" Ichigo yelled out in embarrassment and his dad finally let him go and he could breathe again but was smacked over the head the next moment by his father.

"Wow" Karin remarked from shock. "He's not even denying it." She told Yuzu but loud enough for her dad and Ichigo to hear.

"Ow! What the hell was that for?!" He asked in an annoyed voice at his father's sudden mood swing.

"That's for spending the night at a girl's house without telling me first! You better not have done anything indecent to my future daughter-in-law!" Isshin's voice suddenly turned from sweet and happy to stern but just as equally loud. Ichigo's face went even redder when his father mentioned being indecent and he immediately remembered last night. "Ichigo! Why aren't you denying it? What the hell did you do?!" Isshin asked after Ichigo didn't respond for a moment.

Ichigo let out a yell as he ran out of his father's hold and tried to dodge the punches and kicks from the older man. "I didn't do anything! Stop calling her your in-law!" The orange haired man yelled, lying completely on the first part but his father didn't care and continued chasing him around the house.

Yuzu glanced over at Karin who already started to eat her breakfast again. "Do you think we should stop them?" She asked worriedly as they stumbled through the dining room once more, still fighting. "You know, before they break something."

Karin shrugged. "After we're done eating." She said and her sister nodded in agreement.

(13th Division, 3rd Division)

Mizuki sighed as she enjoyed the closest time that she'd have to silence as she and Kiyone did work on their own. For once the co-third seat didn't go with the Captain and Sentaro when they went off somewhere a few minutes ago. The blonde Lieutenant smirked as she saw she had gotten most of her paperwork done already despite getting side tracked from her third seats teasing her about her relationship with Ichigo. She was happy to see most of her work for the day was done and she hoped she'd be able to maybe even get off of work a little early if she finished her paperwork early. "Wow Lieutenant Yasuko you got a lot of paperwork done already." Kiyone commented with a smile and I nodded over to her.

"Yeah I finally got the hang of paperwork again." Mizuki said as the blonde haired Lieutenant placed the completed papers on their proper stack. "When you're done with that pile just put it on my desk and I'll deliver it to the 10th Division."

Kiyone smiled. "Thanks Lieutenant. I'm sorry that me and Sentaro keep on teasing you, it's just because you get so embarrassed anyways we're just joking. We're really happy that you've found someone for yourself." The light haired girl told her Lieutenant and Mizuki felt a little embarrassment since everyone kept on bringing it up but smiled to her nonetheless when she heard the seriousness in her voice rather than teasing for once.

"Yeah I know you guys are just joking, thank you." The newly reappointed Lieutenant told her and Mizuki saw her about to say something else when she was cut off by the door swinging open loudly.

"Hey guys! What's up?" Glancing up Mizuki saw Rangiku smiling widely in the doorway and the blonde Lieutenant smiled wondering how Rangiku wasn't hung over from all the liquor she had last night.

"Hey Rangiku, nothing really. What are you doing? Avoiding work and Hitsugaya?" Mizuki asked her teasingly with a smile as the strawberry blonde woman laughed and skipped over to her desk, sitting on the edge.

Giggling as she sat down on some of Mizuki's paperwork the well-endowed woman giggled as she smiled over at the younger girl. "Well duh, not that much has changed since you left Mizuki!" She told the Lieutenant jokingly and Mizuki smiled as she glanced down at the papers in front of her for a moment to scribble out her signature. "So I heard from a little birdy you had some night yourself yesterday!" Rangiku teased her in a suggestive sing-song voice.

Looking up at her with a confused look in her green eyes Mizuki paused before she saw some movement out of the corner of her eye and she narrowed my eyes a little, glancing past the Lieutenant sitting on her desk. "Kiyone," The blonde Lieutenant called out and saw the short girl freeze before she could open the door and Mizuki smirked. "Don't think that you can sneak out that easy, come over here." The blonde girl told her and the co-third seat sighed before walking over to the two Lieutenants.

The short haired girl scratched the back of her neck and let out a nervous laugh. "What could you possibly need from me Lieutenant Yasuko?" Kiyone asked innocently and Mizuki smirked at her and leaned back in her chair, pausing from her work for a moment.

"What did you tell Rangiku?" The blonde Lieutenant asked her and saw her face erupt with a blush.

"Well you see I didn't mean to but I told her about you and the substitute soul reaper Kurosaki!" Kiyone started out shyly but then she perked up into her usual obnoxious tone and Mizuki sighed, rolling her green eyes at her with a smile.

"Thanks Kiyone, I appreciate you spreading gossip about me and Ichigo to Rangiku." Mizuki told her sarcastically and Rangiku's face light up.

"And everyone else!" The obnoxious Lieutenant added in and Mizuki raised an eyebrow at her before looking to her third seat.

"Kiyone what the hell, who else did you tell?" The blonde Lieutenant asked her in a bit of an annoyed voice.

She laughed. "Oh nobody!" Kiyone laughed out before she noticed Mizuki giving her a 'really?' look, holding her cheek in her hand. "Well you can't just blame me! Sentaro's telling people too!" The short girl yelled out defensively to her Lieutenant and she sighed.

Rangiku was quick to change the subject as she gave the younger Lieutenant a suggestive look. "So you and Ichigo huh? What'd you guys do after you left the bar anyway, go to your place and have a good time?" The strawberry blonde haired woman asked tauntingly and watched amused as Mizuki struggled to hold back a blush and tried to distract herself with paperwork. No matter how much she loved Rangiku as a friend she was still the biggest gossip in the soul society and Mizuki was well aware if she did tell her anything the rest of the soul society would know in a half hour, tops.

"You are such a pervert Rangiku, besides do you really think that Ichigo would do that when he's a prude?" The blonde Lieutenant asked, keeping a straight face and managing to hold back a smile as she lied easily. However as Mizuki looked back up at her Rangiku gave her an unconvinced look but Mizuki managed to keep her face stoic for the most part.

Rangiku giggled as she sat a little closer to the Lieutenant and wiggled her eyebrows at her suggestively, smirking at Mizuki's confused expression. "So how big is he?" She asked in a low voice and at first Mizuki's face went confused and she thought about it and tried to understand what Rangiku meant. It took the blonde girl a moment but when she did understand her face erupted into many shades of red again and Mizuki's green eyes looked away from her.

"Rangiku! S-Shut up!" Mizuki scolded her in annoyance, refusing to make eye contact and she desperately wished that there was a rock for her to hide under right about now.

The strawberry blonde woman laughed at the younger girl's embarrassment. "Come on! We're all girls here we should be able to talk about this sort of stuff!" Rangiku said in the midst of a laugh that only made Mizuki's checks heat up more in embarrassment.

"I don't want to talk about this stuff though." The blonde Lieutenant murmured, blushing beat red just by her question.

Rangiku looked over at Kiyone and smirked, holding her hand in front of her mouth so Mizuki couldn't see the words she was saying but the blonde could still hear her. "That means that he's big." She whispered and Mizuki's face went even redder if possible as Kiyone and Rangiku laughed so hard they were almost rolling on the floor.

"That's enough! Rangiku get out of my office and stop distracting my subordinates!" Mizuki yelled out in annoyance as she tried to control her blush in vain. Rangiku held her hand over her mouth to try to stifle her laughter as she staggered out of the room. Kiyone looked over at her Lieutenant, trying to stop laughing herself, as she opened her mouth to no doubt making another joke at Mizuki's expense. Her dark green eyes narrowed at the sight, my cheeks still very much red as she sat down at her desk again. "Don't even think about it, take care of your duties." I said sternly and Kiyone giggled as she left the office.

(A few hours later, Karakura Town 3rd Person POV)

Mizuki sighed as she walked through the streets of Karakura town, thankful for the quietness. All day she had been busy at work with her loud subordinates all trying to embarrass her all day long. From Rangiku and Kiyone asking her stupid questions to Rukia taunting her about dating Ichigo she had barely gotten a break from it all. However she was looking forward to seeing Ichigo and forgetting about her uncomfortable time with her subordinates through the day. She glanced down at her phone and raised an eyebrow when she noticed that Ichigo hadn't texted her back yet.

She had told him before that she was leaving to come see him so he wouldn't be completely surprised when she got there. For a moment she wondered if he was even home but shrugged and decided she'd try to see if she could find him. Turning onto a familiar street she walked up to the Kurosaki clinic and as she walked up to the door she could already hear yelling from inside. A little hesitantly she knocked on the front door. "Ichigo you naughty son of mine what am I to do-?" She heard Isshin letting out overdramatically in fake tears as he yelled.

"Dad!" She heard Yuzu and Karin yell out to cut him off and then Mizuki heard them arguing over who should get the door.

"I'll get it! Shit!" Ichigo said in annoyance and she heard him walking towards the door. After a few moments she saw the door open in her face and she smirked up at Ichigo's surprised face to see her and she noticed his face a little pink probably from yelling. "Mizuki? Oh crap sorry I forgot to call you, my phone's upstairs." He said, immediately realizing he forgot to call her but she smiled at his statement and shrugged.

"It's fine, don't worry about it. Is everything okay?" She asked and he sighed as he realized she heard him and his dad fighting.

"Yeah we're fine my dad just likes to get like this sometimes. He's been yelling at me for staying at your place all day he hasn't even given me a minute to check my phone since I told him." Ichigo explained as he leaned against the frame of the door.

"Ichigo what are you doing?!" They both heard Isshin yell out as he jumped to the door but he gasped when he saw Mizuki there. "Let your girlfriend in don't make her stand outside!" He scolded his son and she winced a bit at the sound as he slapped his son on his head, hard Mizuki judged by the sound but she was quick to say something before he lost his temper.

"Sorry Mr. Kurosaki I didn't walk in. You don't have to blame Ichigo." She apologized as she walked inside shutting the door behind her as Ichigo rubbed his head. Mizuki didn't bother making a big deal over the fact of how he called her Ichigo's girlfriend, actually it sounded nice to hear.

Isshin laughed at her apology, his mood swinging back to normal for a few moments. "It's nothing to be sorry about, sorry son!" He said patting the orange haired man on the back hard.

Ichigo rolled his eyes at his father and sighed in annoyance as he looked away from him and glanced over at Mizuki. "Come on, let's go upstairs." He said, too annoyed with his father to stay downstairs with him for another minute. All day his father had been scolding him about staying over Mizuki's and about being 'indecent' with her, despite how much he tried to deny it to his father. His hand grasped hers and gave her a little tug and she smiled following after him waving over to his sisters that were sitting in the living room watching TV who waved back to her.

Isshin watched as the two of them walked up the stairs and he took a step forward, calling after them. "Leave your door open Ichigo I don't want to catch you two doing anything!" He yelled out. Mizuki blushed a little at what his dad said but Ichigo's eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the statement and he slammed his door behind him ignoring how he heard his father whining from downstairs for a few minutes.

He sighed in annoyance as he sat down on his bed, running his fingers through his orange hair. "He's been like this all day and it's really starting to get on my nerves." Ichigo told her trying to forget about it now that she was here.

He heard her giggle at his statement and as he opened his eyes he felt her straddle him to the bed, he saw her smile as she sat in his lap. "I bet it's annoying. So what's this I hear about you being naughty huh?" Mizuki asked teasingly with a smirk, using his father's word for it as her eyes lit up with mischievousness.

Ichigo blushed a little at her question and the lack of distance between them but pushed it away as he smirked at her, one of his hands resting on her hips as he ran his fingers over the fabric of her shirt. "You heard that huh?" He asked remembering a little earlier before when his father had called him that. The blonde girl smiled at the funny memory and nodded to him as she heard him chuckle at her response, his free hand cupping her cheek as he leaned a little closer to her. "Don't worry, you know I'm only naughty with you." He told her in a low voice before his lips captured her soft ones that were tempting him by being so close. Immediately he forgot about his father annoying him all day as he smirked at the feeling of her in his arms again, his lips moving with hers gently and almost innocently.

Mizuki liked how he kissed her so sweet and how he could hold her like this, it made her feel so safe and she relaxed in his hold. Her fingers ran themselves through his hair as they pulled apart for a moment to breathe. "Kiyone and Sentaro went around my division today telling anyone who had an ear to listen that we were dating." She explained as she caught her breathe and she noticed him smirk at the statement letting out a chuckle as he pulled her closer so their bodies were pressed against each other. "They even told my Captain." She told him as his lips met hers again but he pulled back after a moment as he understood what she said.

He glanced up at her a little nervous at what she had just said, he could care less if the entire soul society knew they were together but her uncle was a different story completely. He was the only family of hers that he had met and he was a little worried since he knew Ukitake was protective of his niece and Lieutenant. "What did he say about us?" Ichigo asked as he caught his breathe, his fingers pushing her hair out of her face.

She smiled noticing how he was a little uneasy about how her uncle reacted but she merely trailed her fingers against his chest. "He was really happy then he started acting like your dad. Just not quite as bad as your dad though." Mizuki told him and she quickly placed her lips against his, about to pull back when he held her still and kissed her sweetly. Her head spun at the feeling, not from anything sexual it was just that he kissed her so slowly and careful like she was someone important to him and she could feel it in the kiss.

"My family knows too obviously. Sorry about my dad if he makes any in-law comments." Ichigo warned her as he broke away to catch his breath before he pushed her hair off of her shoulders to trail his lips down her throat. Her fingers tightened as she held onto his back her lips parting as she was about to let out a moan but she remembered his family downstairs and bit her lip. Without thinking about his family or anything else he sucked harder on her neck, wanting to hear her moan out his name.

Abruptly the door to his room swung open and they both jumped at the noise, Mizuki letting out a squeak of surprise as she pushed herself away from her boyfriend more on reflex and surprise than anything. Ichigo noticed her fall out of his lap and he reached forward to try to catch her but winced when he heard her fall to the floor and noticed her rub her head. Before he could ask her if she was okay they both heard a loud voice yell at them. "Ichigo what did I tell you! Keep it PG!" Isshin yelled at them from the doorway and the blonde Lieutenant couldn't help but blush.

Ichigo's eyes narrowed at his father, standing to his feet and holding out his hand for Mizuki to take. She mumbled out a thank you as she let him help her to her feet before he turned to his father, his face going red with anger more than embarrassment for once. "Dad get the hell out of my room!" He yelled as he ran towards his dad, pulling back his arm to punch his dad finally having enough of his father. "Get back here! You are so getting it this time!"

Isshin yelled out in surprise and screamed as he ran through the house as Ichigo tried to make him pay for walking in on them. From Ichigo's room Mizuki sighed with a smile at the funny scene, giggling to herself as she followed after the two of them.

AN: I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Just to let everyone know, the next chapter skips to 17 months after Aizen's defeat but I'm not going to include the Fullbring Arc in this story (mainly because I haven't read/watched the anime episodes of it) and because Ichigo didn't lose his powers so there's no point really.

Chapter 38 Preview:

"That was more hollows than I thought it would be." Mizuki noticed, remembering how it was almost five hollows and how she had expected it to only be one or two.

The orange haired man shrugged. "Not really, they've been coming in groups like this for a little while now." Ichigo told her to try to make it seem like it wasn't that big of a deal but she glanced up at him a bit confused, tilting her head to the side.

"That's weird, I've never heard about that how long has this been going on?" She asked as she remembered not hearing about the increases of hollows in the human world from her Uncle or Ichigo recently.
