The Kiss

"Man, what a day today," Kim grumbled as she and Camille were on their way to their room. "First the camera goes off, then the sound, and to top it off, we also had to get up at three in the morning to shoot this stupid scene at sunrise."

Camille just nodded and walked silently beside Kim, who looked worriedly at Camille from the side. "Are you okay?" She asked. They reached their room and went inside.

"Yes. Why?"

Kim fell onto her bed. "Well, you're so strange all day. Usually you talk all the time. Are you in trouble?"

"No," Camille answered, sitting down on her bed as well.

"And what's going on then?"

Camille considered. "I think I'm homesick."

"Logan?" Kim asked sympathetically.

"Yes, but not only him. I miss my friends and family too."

"I can understand that." Kim got up and walked over to her closet. "But there are only two months left. We can do it." She pulled out a t-shirt and sweatpants and changed. Camille looked at her in disbelief. "Do you want to go jogging now?"

"Sure, of course. Come with me."

"No, thanks. I prefer to stay here. I'm too exhausted."

Kim nodded, tied her hair into a ponytail and left.

Twenty minutes later there was a knock and the door was opened. Jay stood in front of her. "Hey."

"Hi."

"May I come in?"

"Sure."

Jay smiled and sat down on the bed next to Camille. Both were silent for a few seconds, then Jay asked, "Are you alright? You were very different today."

"Yeah, Kim just told me that. I guess I just feel homesick."

He nodded understandingly. "Yes, I miss my friends and family too. But it's nice here, isn't it?"

"Yes, but also very exhausting." She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes. A moment later, she felt Jay put an arm around her. He obviously wanted to comfort her. She opened her eyes and looked at him. His expression was strange. Then he slowly approached and kissed her. And … she returned the kiss! Then pictures appeared in her head. She saw how she and James kissed and then there was Logan's horrified and sad face … She pulled away from Jay and got up quickly from the bed. He looked at her questioningly. "Everything OK?"

"No!" She screamed angrily. "You kissed me!"

He also got up and walked towards her. "But we've done this so many times."

"That was for the camera, for the movie."

He looked at her in disbelief. "Oh, come on. You certainly felt it too. We belong together."

"I already have a boyfriend."

Something changed in his eyes. Suddenly he looked very much like hate. "You can't seriously love this thug! He's dangerous! I can understand when you're afraid to leave him. But I'll make sure he will not hurt you. He-"

Camille slapped him hard. "How dare you insult Logan?! He isn't a thug and I love him. And you will never be able to change that!"

He smiled suddenly. "Don't worry about it. After all, you returned the kiss. You can't deny that. You'll see." He went out while Camille looked at him with a horrified face …

She was about to change clothes when her cell phone beeped. She took it in her hand and stared at the display. A message from Logan. With a bad conscience, she opened the message:

Hey, Cami,
how are you? I hope I didn't wake you up. I know that you had to get up very early today. You're probably pretty exhausted now. I just wanted to wish you a good night. I love and miss you.
Logan

Since she was in Paris, Logan had sent such messages almost every night. Usually Camille was happy about it, but not today. Sadly, she put her phone away and went to bed. For the first time since arriving in Paris without Logan's hockey jersey.
