Hi!
Well, after the huge note from the last chapter I'll just to cut to the chase this time. Here's the new chapter!
"So you were looking for a way to stop their plans all along?" Erza clarified.
Mystogan nodded, he was about to explain some more when an odd growl reached his ears. Started, the S-class mage found the source to be Coco's legion, seeing the girl walk over to the beast.
"What's wrong?"
The next thing anyone knew, a beam came out from below and struck an exceed, instantly turning him to a lacrima. The nearby exceeds cry out in shock before trying to fly away, but just then another blast came, this time striking Lily.
Gajeel froze, seeing him fall "Black cat!"
"Lily!" Riley and Mystogan exclaimed.
"W-what's going on?!" Lucy wondered.
A female exceed flew up "Look at that!"
A legion was coming fast at the island. On it was none other than Erza Knightwalker, looking furious with a cannon in hand.
"You're going to pay for this..."
Erza growled "Knightwalker!" She took out a sword and waited for the legion to get closer before jumping to head her counterpart off.
More magic beams started flashing over, now causing complete chaos as the exceed began to flee, having seen the soldiers on some nearby legion and islands using cannons like Knightwalker's.
A large, silvery gray colored draconic like machine emerged before a new voice spoke "So you're the fools getting in my way..."
Mystogan stiffened at the voice "Father..."
"Silence, traitor!" Faust cut in. "I have no son. How dare you seal the anima? Take this!"
He sent a beam from the machine's mouth only for Mystogan to deflect it by casting Mirror Water. Mystogan raises a staff before seeing Endymion over come Faust's next beam with his own laser. Rebecca, Riley and the dragons slayers were on his back, the first looking at him then.
"You should leave Panther Lily to us. We'll get back soon!"
"Right..." Mystogan proceeded to cast another spell at an oncoming legion, just seeing Endymion and the group on his back doing what they can to head the oncoming royal army off.
"In that case..." Natsu stood. "...we'll take this guy. Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!"
Faust scowled inside the machine, seeing the three mages jump down "Weak!" He maneuvered the machine to take a swipe at them
"Iron Dragon's Lance!"
"Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!"
The strikes were enough to push him back as the dragon slayers landed. Natsu stepped up "Think we're weak, huh?! Why don't you try fighting us for real?"
The king snarled "Very well, you fools. I'll take you all down!"
Despite their attempts to evade the army, a rising number of exceeds were turned into lacrima.
Gray punched a soldier in the gut before freezing his arms and kicking him down. He countered a beam coming for Happy and Carla with his Ice Make: Cannon before using a second blast to get rid of the soldier attacking them.
"Ice Make: Geyser!"
The soldiers nearby cried out as the spell hit them. One attempted to sneak up on them only for Lucy to stop him at once, using her new whip to grab and pull him down before knocking him out.
The blonde reached for a key, only stopping when she heard Carla call out "What's going on over there?"
"?" She followed the exceed's line of sight, seeing that the soldiers over there were battling someone and losing. Her eyes widened at the familiar figure tearing through their numbers. "That's...!"
Lucy Ashley smiled at her counterpart when their eyes met, giving her a thumbs up sign before going to kick a nearby soldier. It wasn't just her, Edo-Juvia, Edo-Mira and her siblings were all there, fighting with all they had. Edolas Fairy tail had joined the battle.
"They've got great timing!" Happy chirped.
Lucy found herself similarly cheered up "Yeah...wait, where's Riley?"
"He's gone to check on that Panther Lily guy. Rebecca said they're going to deal with the reinforcements. If you ask me, that's just as well. He needs to meet them but this isn't the time." Gray pointed out.
"You're right," Carla agreed. "They'll have plenty of time for that once this is all over."
At the same time, Erza was facing Knightwalker on a floating island nearby. Scarlet had a good idea around her opponent's skill level from their previous bout in the castle. It seemed Knightwalker had wizened up as well, deciding to stop underestimating her earthland counterpart.
Their weapons clashed fiercely once more, the sheer force of which causing shockwaves. The two redheads leapt back before preparing to strike again. Scarlet equipped her Black Wing armor, seeing her opponent's lance change form. They attacked at the same time again. Knightwalker smirked upon seeing her opponent's armor fall apart.
"Is that all?"
"Strange..." Scarlet turned to face her, seeing the woman's expression turn shocked as her lance was destroyed. The former re-equipped a new armor. "...I meant to ask you the same."
"Fire Dragon's Crushing Fang!"
The attack didn't seem to have much of an effect on the draconic machine, which Faust used to push Natsu away. Neither did Gajeel's sword and the two dragon slayers were forced to dodge as the machine lobbed some rocks at them before blasting them with a laser. Mystogan had joined them a little while ago but while his efforts helped, it seemed they were causing little damage.
"Let me tell you about what you're facing..." Faust began. "...this machine, Dorma Anim, is in fact a magic canceller."
Mystogan's eyes widened as he realized he knew what this thing was "Dorma Anim? That's the forbidden weapon..."
"That's right! And I'll use it to eliminate you all, starting with you, traitor!" Faust spat. "Your magic is useless, you can't win!"
"Don't be so sure, old man. We're barely showing any of our abilities." Gajeel retorted. "Iron Dragon's Lance!"
The attack struck the Dorma Anim's shoulder with enough speed to throw Faust off. Natsu followed this with a Brilliant Flame that angered the king, making him use missiles which he aptly dodged. He used the chance to strike with a Fire Dragon's Wing Attack.
Wendy began casting. "Oh strength of arms to cleave the heavens, Arms! Oh swift winds that run through the heavens, Vernier!"
The three felt their power rising a second later. Smirking, Gajeel kept the pressure up by using Demon Logs, the attack was destroyed after a minute by a round of missiles. Mystogan cast Sacred Song before Natsu used a Fire Dragon's Storm and Wendy cast a Sky Dragon's Crushing Fang, grinning when he saw the crack forming on the Dorma Anim's torso.
"Two Layered Magic Circle: Rock Trine!"
Mystogan's spell showed the pink haired dragon slayer that he had seen it too for it saw a large rocky spear shoot towards that same crack, making it bigger. The Dorma Anim went into a spin, making a tail swipe that forced them all back as the four attempted to dodge.
This was followed by missiles before the machine began swiping at them again. The force of the move causing a shockwave that threw Natsu and Wendy, who had been the closest to the Dorma Anim, off balance. They would've been targets for a big hit had Mystogan not intervened.
"Four Layered Magic Circle: Blizzard!"
Four of his staves flew up at that before generating a blizzard that made the Dorma Anim stop as the ground around it became covered with ice.
Faust bristled "Why you...! Take this!" He cackled as the following laser hit home. "How's that? You won't win..."
"Yeesh, starting the speeches already, Pops?"
His eyes widened at Natsu's voice before the smoke cleared, letting him see that the Fairy tail mages were on their feet and ready for more.
"Salamander's got a point, we're not even close done here." Gajeel stated.
Happy was keeping an eye on Carla and any exceed they could see nearby, trying to make sure the army couldn't get them. That was when he saw...
"Natsu?" The teen looked at him. "I thought you were...wait..."
The blue exceed noticed his different clothes "...oh, you're this world's Natsu."
"Yeah, where's the other me anyway?"
"Fighting that big machine with some of our friends."
At this, Edo-Natsu followed where Happy was pointing and gulped, it was easy to see how intense the battle was. "We've got the easier job after all..."
The two started at an outcry coming from somewhere, bringing their attention to Gray and Gray Surge, who were staring at each other with incredulous expressions.
"Why are you wearing so many clothes?"
"Why are you wearing so little clothes?"
Happy blinked, seeing that Gray had stripped again. Their faces might be the same but the contrast was plain as day. "...How the heck does he go around with so many clothes?"
"Plenty of us asked the same thing. We just stopped questioning it." Edo-Natsu sighed.
"Gah, there's two Grays?! You've got to be kidding, that's annoying!" Edo-Juvia complained as she grabbed a soilder and kept him in a chokehold.
"Oh, Juvia-chan...I wish I was in his place..." Edo-Gray trailed off.
"Are you for real!?" His counterpart demanded.
"Boy...this is so different from our Fairy tail..." Happy mumbled.
Edo-Natsu gave him a curious look "Really?"
A nearby soilder attempts to attack them only to be shot by an arrow which knocked him down.
Edo-Rebecca walked over, followed by Carla "Would you stop messing around? We're still in a battle."
"That goes double for you, Happy. Get serious!" Carla added.
"Aye! Sorry..."
"Y-yeah, just don't give me that scary look, Rebecca!" Edo-Natsu exclaimed.
The exceeds were understandably thrown off by this but Edo-Rebecca just sighed "Fine, then get to work."
"R-right!" The teen left.
"Oookay..." Happy sweatdropped.
Carla looked at the two Grays, forgetting her irritation in favor of curiosity for the moment "Is that...normal?"
The two nodded in tandem.
"Gate of the Lion, I open thee! Loke!"
This might have been the one time Lucy regretted summoning him. Why? Well...read for yourselves.
"Well, hello Lucy...whoa!" Loke started when he saw his summoner's counterpart, who raised an eye. "This is my lucky day. Another Lucy and she's just as beautiful!"
Lucy facepalmed "Loke..."
"Don't worry, my dear. My love is definitely enough for the both of you! Still, I must say what a treat!"
Edo-Lucy surprised them both by charging with a fist drawn, only to turn out that she was targeting a soldier behind him. After knocking the man out, she spoke "You, put your head in the game! Oi, other me, can this flirt actually help?"
A sigh followed this "I know this looks bad but Loke is one my strongest spirits."
Loke beamed at the praise "Well, thank you...excuse me for a second, ladies. Twin Regulus Fang!"
This served to take care of the four soldiers about to attack them. Lucy smiled "Nice!"
Edo-Lucy smirked "Not bad for a play boy."
Loke smirked back "You haven't seen anything yet."
Knightwalker smirked as she managed to send Scarlet into a wall with her Silfarion.
"Photon Slicer!"
She grunted as the attack hit its mark, seeing her opponent land clad in a new armor. "You just won't stay down."
Scarlet gave a determined look "We've come this far. I will not lose. Can't you see how wrong this plan is?" She clenched a fist as she thought of Chris' story and continued. "You say you're saving Edolas but have you ever thought of the people you've hurt, those you've sacrificed for this plan? There has to be another way!"
Knightwalker gave her a cold look "We're doing what's best for Edolas. Blue Crimson!" She grit her teeth as her opponent stopped the strike and emerged clad in the Heaven's wheel armor. "This is what it means to be humans."
"That's not true! Trinity Sword!"
"Silfarion!"
Both were sent reeling afterwards. Scarlet pulled herself up "We really are evenly matched..."
"Far from it, you haven't seen my best yet."
"What makes you think you've seen mine?"
"Hmph, very well." Knightwalker's spear changed form once more. "This is the Saint Spear Ravelt, my strongest weapon."
"I see. Then it's time I bring this out." Erza brought out another armor. "What you're looking at is my Armadura Fairy armor, my best armor."
"Very well, then get ready!"
They clashed once more, the sheer force of their continued attacks wreaking havoc on the island. Neither paid their surroundings any mind, their attention entirely taken by their opponent. Knightwalker thrust quickly forward but Erza blocked her attempt, only to find her counter stopped too. Their attacks grew in strength and intensity as the two gave it their all.
The next strike saw the new armor and spear both destroyed. This didn't stop either of the redheads though. Despite knowing they were out of magic power, they engaged in a fist fight, neither of them willing to give an inch.
"Your way of thinking isn't right. Humans must love each other!" Scarlet exclaimed before delivering another punch, knocking Knightwalker down. Exhausted as she was, she forced herself to stay up, only to find that her opponent was done.
"...I suppose...this is my loss then." She said at last. "You've won, Scarlet."
"I doubt it...we're the same person after all."
Mystogan tried to cast an illusion to fool the tracking missiles, grimacing as it failed. This left him to be hit by a tail swipe, then hearing his father speak "Is that all? Pathetic!"
He sent out more missiles with a smirk...
"Calamity Drive!"
A big sphere of light appeared in front of the Dorma Anim before it released a flurry of lasers that destroyed the missiles.
Faust stiffened "What?!"
Natsu perked up as he saw Hope and Rebecca running to the battlefield. Rebecca raised her staff.
"Terra Prison!" The Dorma Anim was trapped by the stones. Rebecca looked at the others. "We got things sorted, Lily said Mystogan got some plan ready to end this mess. He and Riley are working on it but they need your help."
"You can leave this to us, Mystogan-san. We'll stop him." Hope added.
The S-class mage nodded after a moment "Thanks."
Faust's eyes narrowed as his son left. "It doesn't matter. Fools, you can't win against me no matter how many of you there are! Once I'm done with you, that traitor will pay!"
Rebecca gave a flat look "You know, you sure talk big for someone who can't be bothered to see the facts."
Wendy inhaled gulps of air to regain power. Natsu snickered as he finished eating the fires from the explosion, seeing Gajeel take a bite out of the Dorma Anim's tail.
"Stop that!" Faust snarled. "Do you have any idea how rare this metal is!?"
"Rare? Please, I know the difference. This is a little better than scrap." Gajeel retorted.
Rebecca conjured a metal sphere with her magic and gave it to him. Gajeel took it in one gulp and smirked "See, now this is more like it. Crystal actually knows what she's doing, take a hint."
"Mock me, will you!? Take this!" The Dorma Anim charged, quickly breaking out the prison, forcing the group to dodge. It then unleashed some lasers which Hope negated with Aegis. Rebecca used a Diamond Strike, seeing the dragon slayers run closer.
"Hit him hard, guys!"
Natsu grinned "You got it! Gajeel, Wendy, let's try breaths. Fire Dragon's..."
Wendy inhaled "Sky Dragon's..."
"Iron Dragon's..."
"ROAR!" A vortex of flame, wind and iron hit the Dorma Anim then, causing it to crash.
Gajeel squinted through the dust cloud that appeared after that. "That thing can still fight?"
"Of course, you fools, this is far from over! I'll enjoy making an example of you before your comrades. Activate Dorma Anim: Black Sky!"
Dorma Anim then grew larger grew larger, its color changed from silver to black. It also stood straight as sword blades appeared in its arms. The weapon then released a round of missiles, which exploded moments later. Faust grinned as he watched his five opponents getting blown away by the attack.
"This is Dorma Anim's forbidden form. It takes all the magic from Edolas but the power it gives out in response is extremely useful! Allow me to give a second demonstration."
The weapon fired a beam of magic, the king smiled as he heard the outcries a second later. Faust cackled as he maneuvered the machine to fly in a tackle. He made another swipe with the weapon's tail.
Natsu and Gajeel charged him, just managing to avoid this. Dorma Anim fired concentrated magic beams that blew them back.
"Do you understand, fools? You're completely outmatched!"
"Here's what I understand, you're full of hot air!" Rebecca stated, raising stalagmites under the weapon's feet.
"She's right..." Hope fired a huge red bullet, the Dorma Anim swiped at it, only to stop when the bullet went through its arm. Before Faust could react through, the machine's head was struck by a powerful blue bullet that exploded upon contact. "...The people of Edolas are already struggling with magic and instead of helping them through this crisis like you're supposed to, you're just stealing magic and making things even worse! Pulse Bomb!"
The Dorma Anim was struck numerous times by a light blast that moved at great speed before exploding at close range.
Faust merely sneered, still as cocky as ever. "This is within my rights. I'm the King of Edolas, this is merely the tax I demand from people."
"Get over yourself! Cataclysm!" Rebecca's spell saw the Dorma Anim pelted by numerous boulders, even the ones from nearby.
Gajeel growled "We ain't going to lose here. Iron Dragon's Lance!"
Wendy ran towards the Dorma Anim, landing on its arm "We'll beat you and do it for the people of Edolas. Sky Dragon's Crushing Fang!"
"Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!"
Faust snarled, being forced to make the weapon turn to them again. His attempt at striking the five down with a flurry of magic beams failed. The following missiles were destroyed by the boys before the girls moved in to strike at close range.
"Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!"
"Diamond Strike!"
This, along from the missiles' explosion sent the Dorma Anim reeling. Faust managed to get it back in place in time for it to swipe at the group. He grinned when he saw it caught them by surprise and thus sent them crashing down. He swiped with the weapon's sword causing an explosion.
His glee quickly left when he saw that the five were still ready to fight more. "That's impossible..."
"Try this on for size! Dragon Slayer Secret Technique: Karma Demon, Iron God Sword!" Only the fact that the Dorma Anim was far enough stopped the move from striking any closer but Gajeel took out of the weapon's arms and caused a large gash in its torso.
"Titanic Ascent!" Rebecca created a rock wyvern from the surroundings and used it to ram the Dorma Anim.
Upon seeing it was heading towards the weapon's legs, Hope had an idea and waited until it was close enough before sending a silver laser towards the wyvern. As he expected, Future Drive worked and the wyvern grew a lot bigger before ramming the Dorma Anim.
"Sky Dragon's Roar!"
"Radiant Blizzard!"
The tornado of wind and hurricane of light struck the Dorma Anim at the same time, with Rebecca's strike having pretty much taken out the legs, Natsu charged in to deliver the final blow.
"Fire Dragon's Storm!"
The intense fiery strike served to sever the Dorma Anim's head and destroy it, leaving on the torso intact as a now frightened Faust looked on. The king had finally no choice but to see that he lost.
"That's that," Gajeel said with a smirk.
The rest perked up and Natsu cheered "We did it!"
Well, I think it's best to end the chapter now...
Whoa, two months since the last update, huh? Didn't expect that...Well, life's been a mess and it's taking a lot to sort things out. I honestly debated on giving up this story for a little while. Note I only said a little. I guess I just have fun working on it. I'm working on plotting the story, I'm sorta midway the next arc now. So it's going to take longer to update but I think the next chapter should be up soon. Depends on when I can get to work on it.
I figured why not include Mystogan but then I remembered how little I know about his magic so I had to make up a couple of spells. The fight scenes just...well kinda came along, are they good?
Ah well, next time the 'Great Demon Lord Dragneel' enters the stage.
