A/N Sorry for not uploading last week. I didn't have my computer with me.
I walk downstairs and sit at the kitchen table, turning the TV on. The news is on and I almost change it before the news announcer's statement catches my attention.
"The authorities believe last night's assailant may also be related to the missing campers and Park ranger who have yet to be found, as well as 25 year old Jessica Koenig, reported missing this morning. The sheriff department says investigations are pending and no further comment will be made."
"That stupid bitch," I say under my breath.
"Good morning, Meg," John says and I make a face.
"Eww. Why are you here?" I ask and walk over to the stairs.
"Elena!" I call and walk back into the kitchen.
Elena walks into the kitchen and looks at John.
"Good morning," he says.
"What are you doing here?" Elena asks.
"Coffee?" he asks.
"We're not doing that. We did that last night. No more avoiding. Why are you here?" Elena asks.
"He's been here since last night? Great," I say sarcastically.
"I'm here to protect you. That's all I can say for the moment," John says.
"What do you mean that's all you can say?" Elena asks.
"I'll tell you more when I'm convinced I can trust you," John says.
Jenna and Alaric come into the kitchen looking very lively.
"I'm late," Jenna says.
"That's what you get for hitting the snooze three times!" Ric says.
They notice John and their faces drop.
"What the hell?" Jenna asks.
"Good morning to you, Jenna. Alaric…" John says.
"It's okay that I'm confused, right? Because we were not expecting you, like, ever," Jenna says and I nod.
"Well, I got in late last night. Elena let me in," John says.
"You know, I'm probably just gonna take off," Ric says, looking at me and Elena before leaving.
"I'm still confused here," Jenna says.
"I decided to come back and stay for a while," John says.
"Not here you're not," Jenna says.
"Actually, you can't stop me from living here," John says.
"Actually, I can. As legal guardian," Jenna says.
"Yeah, about that… Elena, you want me to explain the situation, or would you like to do the honors?" John asks.
"Okay, what's going on?" Jenna asks.
"I'm sorry, Jenna. I should have told you earlier, but-" Elena says, but John interrupts her.
"I'm Elena and Meg's biological father. There, now you know," John says and I stop him before he can leave.
"Nice try. Tell the whole truth," I say giving him a smirk.
"Fine. I'm Elena's biological father," he says giving me an 'are you happy?' look and leaving.
"What?!" Jenna asks and I quickly leave the room.
"Why are we visiting Jules again?" Tyler asks.
"To see what her deal is. Hopefully Trevor didn't kill her," I say as we pull up to the boarding house.
We get out of the car and start walking to the boarding house. I turn around and walk backwards so I can look at Tyler.
"By the way, Damon and Stefan are probably highly pissed that I told you about them, but... I'm sure it'll be fine," I say as I knock on the door to the house.
"We're not that desperate, Stefan. The guy tried to barbecue me!" Damon says before Stefan opens the front door.
"Talking about John?" I ask as I enter with Tyler behind me.
"What's he doing here?" Stefan asks.
"Oh, right. Werewolf in our basement," Damon says and I point at him.
"Bingo," I say.
"Jules?" Stefan asks.
"Yup," I say and start walking towards the basement.
"Bonnie's new witch friend is working with Elijah, so we have to assume that the moonstone was never destroyed. Elena is putting all of her faith into some deal that she made with Elijah to keep everyone safe. I mean, do you trust Elijah? Meg, do you?" Stefan asks as they follow Tyler and me into the basement.
"Definitely not," I say.
"Good. I don't trust him. He's an Original, he can't be trusted. It's not like we can just go up and kill him, because apparently, he can't die!" Stefan says as we reach the cell Jules is in.
"Morning, Sleeping Beauty," I say and she slowly looks towards me.
"You look like death," Tyler says.
"Good job, Trevor. Where is Trevor?" I ask.
"Asleep," Stefan says.
"I'm still waiting for the part where John Gilbert is the answer," Damon says.
"He knew about the sacrifice, Isobel told him. He said he knew of a way to keep Elena safe," Stefan says.
"And how do we do that?" Damon asks.
I look back at them and shoo them with my hands.
"We're going to talk to Jules now. Either shut up about John or leave," I say and they hold up their hands in surrender and leave.
"You two are completely blinded. You should understand that a vampire will never be your friend. It's our nature to be enemies," Jules says and I give her a look.
"You know how stupid that sounds?" Tyler asks.
"When my pack gets here, they'll tear you limb from limb," Jules says with a smirk.
"The pack that you told you were going to look for Mason in a different area and that they should wait until you came back?" I ask holding up her phone.
"The pack that you told to take in two poor newcomers, Meg and Tyler?" I ask, "That pack?"
"What'd you do?" she asks.
I smirk and look back at Tyler, who is smirking as well.
"Let's just say you're gonna be here for a while," I say.
"And in the meantime," Tyler says and pulls out a wolfsbane-filled syringe.
He walks over to her and injects it directly into a vein. She screams and slumps over, her eyes closing shut.
"That should keep her down for a while," I say and place Jules' phone on silent.
We head into the library and I hide it behind some books.
"Let's go find that RV," Tyler says.
"I think my evil is rubbing off on you," I say and he laughs.
We arrive at the RV and I make a 'hesitant' knock.
"Ummm... Who'd Jules say to ask for?" I ask Tyler.
"Brady? I think," he says, playing along.
"You two, Tyler and Meg?" a voice asks and we spin around in surprise; Tyler's real, mine fake.
A man is standing there and he wreaks like wolf. He mustn't believe too heavily in bathing.
"Yeah. You must be Brady?" I ask.
"That'd be me. Where'd Jules go? Do you two know?" he asks.
"We don't actually. She just told us she got a lead on Mason and the next thing we knew she disappeared," Tyler says.
"That is so like her," he says and shakes his head, "Anyways, you two are how old?"
"I'm seventeen," Tyler says and I smile at him.
"He means how long have we been wolves," I say.
"Oh," Tyler says.
"Tyler turned for the first time this month. And for me... I guess it's been a year," I say, "Wow... Time flies huh?"
"It does," Brady says.
"We'll meet back here later. Okay?" I ask and he nods.
"That'll be good," he says.
"So, what should I do?" Tyler asks.
"I don't know. Whatever you want, Ty. Make yourself at home," I say, gesturing around the boarding house.
"Where's Damon?" I ask Stefan.
"Memorial," Stefan says.
"And Trevor?" I ask before I hear a shrill scream downstairs, "Nevermind."
"He's not going to kill her right?" Tyler asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"Hope not," I say.
"Meg explained what we are I assume," Stefan says.
"Yeah. Look as long as Meg is cool with it, I am too," Tyler says.
Stefan gives me a look before nodding at Tyler.
Stefan's phone rings and he picks it up.
"Hey. Is everything okay?" he asks.
"That depends. How badly do you want to keep her alive?" a voice says.
I recognize Brady's voice and I tilt my head in confusion.
"Who is this?" Stefan asks.
"Where are Tyler and Meg?" Brady says and Stefan looks at me.
"Who is this?" Stefan asks again.
"A friend," Brady says.
"Where's Caroline?" Stefan asks.
"Phone," I demand and Stefan gives me the phone.
"Brady? What are you doing with Caroline?" I ask.
"Can't trust vampires, Meg. I'm helping out," Brady says.
"Caroline's a good kid," I say.
"She's not a kid. She's a monster," Brady says.
"No, she's not," I say.
A gun goes off and Caroline screams, making Stefan snatch the phone back.
"What's happening?" Tyler asks.
"He shot Caroline," I say, my body shaking with rage.
"Hurt her again and you're dead," Stefan says.
"I hurt her again, and she's dead. Tyler and Meg, the clearing by Wickery Falls. You have 20 minutes until she dies," Brady says and hangs up.
"Brady!" I say in a sing-song voice before quickly dropping it, "Where's Caroline?"
We walk into his view and he smiles.
"Locked up tight. Like vampires should be," Brady says.
"Why are you doing this?" I ask.
"Vampires are our enemies. The sooner you learn that, the easier it'll get," Brady says.
"The way I see it, I only have one enemy right now," I say and point to him, "You. Now, we were just becoming friends, Brady. That's very rude of you."
"We're friends, Meg. You, me, and Tyler. These vampires, they aren't your friends," he says.
"Well, considering you have my friend locked up... The enemy of my friend is my enemy," I say.
"That's not how that saying goes," he says with a smirk.
"You need to leave town. No one else has to get hurt," Stefan says.
"I'm not leaving without Tyler and Meg," Brady says.
"Well, see. Tyler's in my pack. And I have no desire to join. We don't need you. Especially when you're threatening us," I say.
"What you need to understand is, my way, it's pretty bloody," Damon says coming into view, "But Meg's way... You should probably hand over Caroline."
"Once Meg and Tyler, join our pack. We'll let her go," Brady says.
"Give us Caroline. Without a full moon it's not an even fight and you know it. We will take you," Damon says.
"I'm not so sure about that, tough guy," Brady says and whistles.
The rest of the pack walks out of their hiding places, all holding stakes and cross-bows. Jules wasn't kidding I guess.
"Let's try this again. Meg, Tyler," Brady says.
I look at Tyler and gesture for him to follow me.
"That's better," Brady says with a smile.
Tyler and I head inside of the RV where Caroline is in a cage, all bloodied up and frightened.
"Caroline!" I say and rush over to her.
"There's a latch on the door and I can't get to it," she says and I quickly undo the latch.
"Are you okay, Care?" I ask and help her out.
"No," she says, "But I will be."
"Tyler," I say and he quickly comes over to us, "Protect her."
He nods and hugs her to him. I grab a stake from the RV and rush outside.
A werewolf jumps at me as soon as I exit the RV and I immediately stake him through the heart.
"Bro, really? Clearly the dumbass of the bunch," I say and retrieve my stake.
I see Stefan on the ground as well as Damon fighting a werewolf, only to be shot by Brady.
When Tyler comes out with Caroline, Brady grabs her and pushes her against the RV, putting a gun to her back. Tyler kicks the gun out of Brady's hand and I nod in approval.
The wolf holding Damon is about to stake him and I start running towards them.
Suddenly, all of the werewolves, except Tyler and I, begin to scream. They all grab their heads in their hands and fall to their knees.
"What's happening?" Caroline asks.
"What the hell is going on?" Tyler says.
Jonas Martin, Bonnie's friend, comes out. He seems to be casting the spell on the werewolves to give them aneurysms like Bonnie does.
Damon and Stefan get up off the ground and I sigh in relief.
"Elijah made a promise to Elena. I'm here to see it's upheld. You need to go. Get out of here. Now," Jonas says.
Jonas then looks at Tyler and me.
"When your friends awaken, give them a message: They need to get the hell out of this town," he says and leaves.
Tyler left to be with Caroline and I went to the boarding house with Damon.
The doorbell rings and I share a confused look with Damon.
"Who's even here this late?" I ask Damon as he opens the front door and John is standing on the porch.
"What do you want?" Damon asks.
"We didn't finish our conversation," John says.
"I'll bite," Damon says and reluctantly lets John into the house.
"Our personal conversation," John says looking at me.
"Whatever," I say and go into the kitchen.
I make a sandwich for Jules so she doesn't die and grab the first bottle of alcohol I find.
"Here," I say and hold the food to her mouth, taking a swig out of the bottle.
She looks up at me with a glare.
"I'm not eating that," she says.
"I didn't poison it. If I wanted you dead, I'd have something way more fun planned," I say.
She hesitantly takes a bite and I roll my eyes.
"Met your boyfriend. He tried attacking me and my friends. A lot of your pack members are dead. Not a good look," I say putting the bottle up to my lips and taking a big gulp.
"Is he dead?" she asks.
"Maybe. Who knows?" I say.
She won't take anymore bites of the sandwich so I throw it at the wall.
We sit in silence; her staring at me and me getting drunk.
"You are very boring," I say, "Did you know?"
"You are very drunk. Did you know that?" she asks.
"Funnily enough I did. But mostly, I'm bored. Goodbye," I say, standing and exiting the cell.
"Have fun rotting away," I say and lock the cell.
"Damon!" I call in a sing-song voice.
I look around for him and hear voices coming from his bedroom. I enter to find him not in the bedroom itself but in the bathroom. With Andie Star. Taking a bubble bath.
"Ooo, a party," I say and put the bottle to my lips to find it empty, "Aww..."
I pout and sit the bottle on the counter.
"Are you drunk?" Damon asks.
"Umm... You're just going to let her stand there?" Andie asks Damon quietly.
"Shh... Candie. The adults are talking," I say.
"It's Andie," she corrects.
"Shhhhhhh..." I say with a finger to my mouth.
"I guess the answer is yes. You are very drunk," Damon says.
"Not sure how. I only drank this bottle," I say and hold it up to him.
He looks at the bottle and starts laughing.
"Almost a 2 liter bottle of vodka and your drunken state surprises you?" Damon asks.
"True. You're so smart, Damon. How do you do it?" I say and sit on the counter.
"Meg, I'm kind of busy," Damon says and I pout.
"But, I'm bored," I say.
"Go play with Jules," he says.
"She's boring!" I say and walk over to the bathtub.
"Umm... Seriously, Damon. Make her leave," Andie says and I glare at her.
"You have bubbles, Candie," I say, scooping a handful up and blowing them at her face.
"It's Andie," she says and I shush her.
"Meg, what are you doing?" Trevor asks carelessly and I turn to him in excitement.
"Trevor!" I say and he gives me a look.
"Come on," he says and starts leaving.
"Where are we going?" I ask and walk out behind him.
"To have some fun," he says.
"I like you," I say and he laughs.
"We do have to be careful though. Elijah doesn't know I'm here. At least I don't think he does," he says.
"I bet you're on Elena's list," I say and he doesn't look convinced.
"Why would I be?" he asks, grabbing my purse and leading me out to my car.
"Well, Damon's on the list. If Damon's on the list, there's no reason you couldn't be," I say, sliding into the passenger seat.
"That is very true," he says and laughs, "Because Damon..."
"Is a hot damn mess," I say as the car pulls out of the driveway.
"In my 2000 years, I've never heard a truer statement," he says.
"Okay... One, you are not 2000. And two, truer is not a word. Wait... Is it?" I ask.
"Yes, you drunk fool," he says and I glare at him playfully.
"I don't like you," I say and he laughs loudly.
"You liar! You love me," he says.
"I only love myself," I say in a joking manner.
"I believe it," he says.
"So rude!"
"Shut up and get out," he says with a laugh.
"Double rude..."
"I'm going to hurt you," he says and laughs again.
I pout and get out of the car, my lips soon forming a smile. Before me is a clearing surrounded by woods. There are many flowers and the stars are in full view.
"Wow," I say.
"I found this place the other day. I thought to myself, 'Rose and Meg would love it here.' At least one of you got to see it," he says and I turn to look at him.
"Thank you for showing me this," I say and he smiles.
"You're welcome, Doppelicious," he says and I laugh, "I bought something to build a fire, but I think I'll save it for later. You may trip and burn yourself to death."
"Hey! Not cool!" I say and stumble trying to make a point of my sobriety, clearly failing.
"Exactly. But," he says and vamp-speeds away, appearing seconds later with blankets in his hand, "We can watch the stars."
"You're nice to me," I say as he lays one blanket down.
I plop down on it very disgracefully and he smiles, throwing the other blanket over me.
"Why wouldn't I be?" he asks.
"I'm not a very nice lady," I say and he laughs.
"Good. Don't be nice. Give 'em hell," he says and I smile at him.
"I try," I say and my eyes start closing.
"Sleep tight, Doppelicious," he says.
"Still not a doppelganger," I say and he chuckles.

Mason will be back shortly. In spirit at first and then he'll be back in real life. They are definitely still friends though. As for Damon and Meg, they'll be in a neutral before they become friends again, but the whole thing with them together is done... as far as Meg is concerned at least. I really don't get the whole Klaus and Caroline thing. I love Klaus and I love Caroline... but together? I don't really see it. I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)

I was really scared at the beginning of that haha. I just think it makes more sense for her to be with Kol because Klaus kills her aunt. And they would be epic together. I'm so excited for them to come.
P.S. I actually like Twilight haha. I know it's not cool to like it but I really don't care xD
