Double Trouble

Post script.

Things for Jadelyn had changed dramatically for her since she first traveled to another universe. Her evil boyfriend beck was gone, she had broken off ties with her father, stepmother and sister, not to mentioned ruined them, traveled to numerous parallel universes and played matchmaker for the various Jade's and Tori's and of course gotten engaged to the lovely Victoria several months ago.

But today, there would be no such drama, no cross universe travel or anything else. For the engaged couple, now freshmen in college and living in a spacious apartment were sleeping in on a lazy sunday morning.

Having just woken up, Jadelyn looked at the clock and it was just after 10. Not even thinking twice about it, she rolled over and slowly began to kiss Victoria's tummy.

Feeling the kisses on her midsection, a sure sign that Jade was in the mood, Victoria's began to wake up.

"Hmmm...nice..." Mumbled the still half asleep Latina.

Pausing briefly between kisses, Goth smiled. "It's just me, your orgasmic alarm clock. Time for your wake up call."

Giggling because Jade kissed one of her ticklish spots, Victoria said. "Hope you're ready for workout baby!"

"BAM BAM!" Came a noise from the front door.

"What the fuck!" Growled Jadelyn. If there was one thing she hated more than anything, was having loving making disturbed.

"Bam Bam!" Came the sound again.

"What's going on baby?" Said the sleepy Latina.

Jadelyn who had already bounded off the bed, grabbed the pair of scissors from under the pillow and was putting on a black bathrobe, hissed loudly.

"Some soon to be dead asshole, is pounding on our front door."

Getting up to put her own bathrobe on, Victoria quickly cautioned Jadelyn. "Just be careful."

Sicssors in hand, Jadelyn stormed out of their bedroom into the living room where she turned on the light. From the clock on the wall, she could see it was 10:14 am.

"Bam Bam!" Came the pounding again, as Jadelyn approached the door.

"I heard you the first time, asshole!" Jadelyn barked, as she peeked through the tiny viewing hole.

Victoria who had just come into the room asked. "Who is it?'

Backing away from the door, Jadelyns expression turned from one of anger to puzzlement. "Why is she here?"

After shoving the scissors in her pocket, Jadelyn quickly drewback the chain, unlocked the door and opened it.

Standing in the doorway was an attractive woman in her late 40's. She was Caucasian with slight Asian features, brown eyes and black hair with streaks of grey."

"Jadelyn?" The woman said, sounding near panic stricken.

"Yes. You're Julia. The wizard friend of Jade the werewolf. I met you at the party where I got engaged to Victoria. What on parallel earths are you here in this universe at midnight, pounding on my door. Pretty shitty time for a visit."

"I need your help." Julia pleaded. "It's Jade the werewolf."

"Come on in. Please. What's wrong?" Responded Victoria, who sensing the urgency of the situation, stepped forward.

Julia stepped in and motioned for someone behind her to follow.

"Julia, what's going on?" Queried Jadelyn.

With a somber look, Julia looked as well dressed, woman with long blonde hair, pushed in the room what appeared to be a small floating platform about 6 feet long and 2 feet wide. How it floated, Jadelyn could only guess it was some sort of magic, but seeing what was on the platform, made her jaw drop.

Lying prone on the small platform was the very very bloody and crumpled heap of what appeared to be a mangled corpse. However it was so battered and covered with blood and bruises, she couldn't initially tell who it was. Jade couldn't help but think, she'd seen corpses in horror films, that looked better than this poor devil.

Only when she saw the long black hair did Jadelyn recognize the bloody heap in front of her.

"Oh my god! Is this Jade the werewolf?"

Victoria gasped in horror at seeing the bloody heap of what she knew to be one of the most powerful beings in her universe. But for Victoria, it hit doubly hard as seeing a Jade, any Jade like this, greatly upset her.

"What happened? Is she dead?" Cried the Latina as she ran to Jade's side.

The blonde woman, who spoke with a thick Russian accent, answered. "She is not dead. She alive, but hanging on only by the smallest of threads. In fact, it's a miracle that she survived what happened to her at all."

"Jadelyn, Victoria, this is my associate, Valentina Soboleva. She is a werewolf like Jade."

Looking down at her nearly dead counterpart, Jadelyn could only surmise with some dismay, that something in her particular universe had indeed gone, horribly wrong. "Ok, she's alive, but what do you need from us?"

Julia put her hand on Jadelyn's shoulder. "Jade needs you. She's barely alive. I can heal some of her injuries, but she has many broken bones and needs time to recover in safety. Until she recovers, she's in great danger."

"Safety? Danger?" Said Victoria, who instinctively went to hold Jade's hand, but let go, once she realized that it appeared several fingers on the hand and the wrist were broken.

"She's not safe in her universe right now. Suffice it to say, Jade got into something and thanks to a very powerful individual, she wound up like this. They think she's dead. But if that person got one whiff, one hint that Jade was still alive, they'd stop at absolutely nothing to find and destroy her. Here in another universe, she would be utterly undetectable, from any kind of magic or otherwise. She will recover much quicker than a person but it will take some time. Can you help us? I can fill you in, as soon as I get Jade stabilized."

Jadelyn, nodded quickly. "We have a spare bedroom, put her in there."

Julia, motioned to Valentina. "Hurry, I need to attend to some of her injures or she won't survive at all."

As Valentina pushed Jade into the bedroom, a visibly upset Victoria, put her arms around Jadelyn. "Is she going to be ok?"

"I'll be damned if she dies. Come on, get some towels and I'll get a the first aid kit. Looks like we've got a houseguest."
