Author: Okay guys here's another chapter. I don't know why but I feel sad that this story is coming to an end. I've been working on this for so long even though I didn't take as long on the original. In a lot of ways I like the rewrite better is that wrong to say? Anyway here we go.

Return

Chapter Thirty Six

The room was exploding with chaotic energy when Danny finally made his way back to the stage. Vlad was long gone and so was Sam. Ducking behind a pillar Danny swept his gaze across the room again searching for any sign of the two. To some it would seem like a pointless endeavor since Vlad was a halfa as well. Danny however knew his enemy and simply phasing out of the room didn't seem like Vlad's style. Staring at the cross that had previously held the woman he loved Danny noticed something odd. Glancing back at the battle he made a dash forward dodging the stray blasts and bullets that whirled around him. When he finally made it to the wooden structure Danny took a moment to catch his breath before turning to look at the cross.

Scratched into it's surface were these words:

If you want her back. Come to where it all started.

Sam.

Jazz fought her way to the thick of the battle where she had seen Danny moving earlier. There was so much she had left to say. She wasn't about to stand by and let him get killed when there was something she could do about it. When she reached the thick of it however Danny was nowhere to be seen. In fact she saw everyone but him. And by that she meant everyone. Even her parents.

Seeing them again had hurt. They were ghosts now but they were still the same as she remembered. Her dad only thinking with his muscles while her mother picked up his lack using her wit to incapacitate ghost after ghost. What hurt though was the fact that after all this time they hadn't come to see her once. Not after the accident. Not when she struggled to become a leader. Not even when their base was attacked over and over again.

Jazz wasn't even sure what she would say to them. Instead she took her frustration and anger out on the guards keeping her away from her brother.

When she managed to clear a space for herself however Danny was still nowhere to be seen. Jerking her head in all directions she finally decided to head for higher ground. The battle was wearing down by now and it was easier for her to move as her people took care of the remaining ghosts. Jumping onto the stage she searched the room only to confirm her fear. Danny was gone.

It was only then she noticed the writing.

"He wouldn't."

Turning back Jazz felt panic welling in her throat.

"STOP!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Silence followed her scream as all eyes turned to her. After taking a few deep breaths Jazz drew herself up and stared down at the people (and ghosts below).

"This fighting is pointless, every single person in the room had felt the cold tyranny of Plasmius's oppression. It is time to end this and stand together against him," Each word she spoke seemed to echo through the room.

"She's right," A rough voice called after a second, "We have one common enemy. The one who's killed thousands already. Who has taken so much from each of us. And forced you to do his bidding. I stand with her this fighting has to end."

Skulker walked towards the stage after his short speech. Ghost and humans moved out of his way as he was joined by The Box ghost, Technus, Tucker (someone she thought she'd never see again), Johnny 13, Valerie, and her parents. When they all came to stand beside her she felt like an army now stood with her. Turning her gaze back to the crowd she was satisfied to see her people shift closer to the stage until they formed a barrier between her and Vlad's men.

There was a moment of hesitation before they lowered their weapons. Jazz felt some relief that this had ended peacefully but she didn't allow herself a moment to dwell on that. In the next second she was ordering a search of the castle. If Danny wasn't here then there was only one other place that he could be.

"Don't do anything stupid until we get there," Jazz prayed before turning to the others, "Okay we need a plan."

Something in her gut told her that this was it. This was the last battle. She just hoped they would get there in time to witness it.

Author; So I started this awhile ago. Lost my motivation. Got it back. Finished one manuscript. Then debated on posting the first half of this. So it's finally time. I can't believe so much has happened since I started this. Next chapter will be up by next week (hopefully).
