The Kai Digi-Destined, the YYGDM remnants, and the Hypnos team were entirely on the edge of their seats with how the conflict had turned out. The Meta-Fusion failures made most nearly lose faith, their shattered fates were now restored with the arrival of Mystic Celesta.
Needless to say, the most excited to see Kari's return were her closest friends.
"Can it that really be Kari?!" Cody was awestruck by Mystic Celesta's appearance on the viewing orb.
Armadillomon poked his head through. "Lemme see, y'all!" He sighted Mystic Celesta and smiled. "Wow, Kari sure went through a lot of changes!"
"That's our Kari, huh?" Yolei said with a smile adorning her face. None were more enthused than she was to see her friend make her epic entrance. "And judging by how D-Reaper reacted, I bet she's gotten a whole lot stronger than before."
Hawkmon added. "Yes and she even landed some decent hits on D-Reaper."
Ken observed Mystic Celesta closely. "She's achieved more than a blessing from the Supreme Digi-Deities."
"Yeah! Now that's how you make an entrance! That's our Kari and Gatomon!" Mimi pumped her fist up and hollered. "Whoo-hoo!"
"I'm happy to see Kari more than all of you, but isn't it too soon to be celebrating?" Joe worried, which got him an paw slap to his leg from Gomamon.
"Relax, I don't think we'll have to worry about D-Reaper for much longer," Gomamon reassured his buddy.
"Kari also seems very self-assured," Izzy zoomed in to get a closer view of Mystic Celesta's face. "That's a look of confidence if I do say so myself."
"She's in a way become just like her brother, hasn't she?" Tentomon pointed this out.
"I'm also digging the new look for her," Yolei smiled proudly. "No more golden locks and spiky hair."
"Gotta say Tai's sister knows how to make an impression," Tony was visibly impressed. "Tell me she kicked this much ass with that Virus guy."
Himura gazed over the viewing orb. "Hope whatever these Supreme-Deities gave her, it's enough to finish this monster off."
"Me, too, Himura," Jeri said.
"The Meta-Fusion was a bust. Mystic Kari needs to play her cards right," Inumon stated plainly.
Gennai muttered, closely watching the viewing orb. "She's definitely taking after her brother. She hasn't backed off from D-Reaper, but so far we've only likely just seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Kari and Gatomon's new power."
"C'mon, Kari and Gatomon, we're all behind you!" Mimi shouted to the viewing orb.
"Heh, getting a little excited, ain't we, Mimi?" Palmon sweatdropped at her partner's anxious behavior.
"A little excited?" Sonja scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Too bad Davis and David couldn't get the job done. Kari can hopefully end this already."
However, Jaarin questioned to herself why her brother hasn't taken action yet. But then, she saw Mystic Celesta's arrival as probably the only chance Henbu and MegaGargomon have to use Operation Doodlebug.
"This is going to be one heck of a show, right, Phillipe?" Jaguarmon asked her observant partner.
"Yeah..." Phillipe replied as the orb's view switched to Brunhilde, the Kuipers, and the remaining Legendary Warriors. Man, our team's taken a hit. Hopefully this is it. If they aren't already aware of D-Reaper possibly absorbing them. Kotori, make sure everyone stays vigilant!
"Let's go, Kari!" The Kai Digi-Destined shouted together.

Chapter 153: Dee Overwhelmed! Mystic Celesta's Amazing Power!

Super-Reaper and Mystic Celesta maintained their epic stare down. Neither fighter budged an inch. Everyone else witnessed the face-off from the sidelines.
Super-Reaper blinked a few times as he examined Mystic Celesta's face up close. Despite her new outward appearance, he was able to scan her. His eyes glowed as photographic memories of his fat self blowing away Celesta X returned to him.
The abomination laughed out loud. "Hahahah, oh yes! Now I remember you! You tried fighting me before I so easily beat you!" He clenched his fists and popped his neck. "Then, you want another crack at me?! Your funeral, stupid girl!"
Mystic Celesta maintained her calm composure in the face of the beast.
"Really can't believe that's Kari out there," Falcomon whispered to Sora.
"Me either. That confident smile on her reminds me so much of Tai though," the Bearer of Love noted, keenly eyeing Mystic Celesta.
WarAngemon, Ultima X, Tike, and Kara were on edge watching the stand off.
"Man, can you guys sense Kari and Gatomon's power? It's off the charts!" Ultima X exclaimed.
David added exuberantly. "Yeah!"
"But, strong enough to beat this freak?" Tike wondered about this present mother's mystic power. "I'd hope so or we're in trouble!"
"No, there's definitely something different about Kari and not just her new form," WarAngemon observed Mystic Celesta.
"You see it to, TK?" BanchoLeomon asked him.
"I see what he's discerning," Angemon X asserted. "Kari's always had a unique power linked to her Crest of Light. It combined with her Ascendant power allowed her Amazing Grace to exist."
"Yeah, and I bet thanks to those Supreme Digi-Deities, they were able to further combine her Amazing Grace power," Sedna said. "Also notice how she lacks the usual Ascendant attributes."
"Like she doesn't even need to transform anymore into Ascendant," Keke said. "Her Amazing Grace light has overtaken her Ascendant power."
"Moreover, she looks much more composed and not straining herself," Sam pointed out.
"It should be a sight once she starts fighting then," Pikkan replied.
"All right, Kari. Show us what you've got," WarAngemon whispered, not taking his eyes off Mystic Celesta.
(Cue Birthday Massacre – Alibis)
Super-Reaper growled with fury over Mystic Celesta X's calm and confident smirk. He clenched his fists and watched as the angelic Ascendant began gathering her mystic energy. Not taking up too much time, the holy energy created swirls of dust around them. Super-Reaper was overtaken by the immense mystic force wrapped around them.
Mystic Celesta X flew up as a spiral of white light started to engulf her body and a sword materialized in her hand. It was the D-Sword, once the imprisonment of Gosenzomon. The elder Digi-Deity had passed some of his power enough for Mystic Celesta to summon and wield the legendary sword.
As she hefted the mystic weapon, a bright column of white energy quickly engulfed her.
Super-Reaper gaped with astonishment as the columns started to spring around. He gasped in horror as he felt the Ki that was coming from Mystic Celesta. The other heroes looked on with shock as the white columns of light faded away, revealing the new form of Mystic Celesta.
Mystic Celesta's armor was now a mixture of gold, white and pink, as it represented all that was good and the power given to her by the Digiverse. She relaxed her stance and sheathed the sword into a white scabbard.
"I am Mystic Celesta, and I will put a stop to your chaos. Light shall extinguish the darkness!"
"Yeah! Now what's what I'm talking about!" WarAngemon called out. "Kari has this in complete control! She's ten times stronger than many years ago!"
"You can do it, Kari! I take back everything I said about TK!" Ultima X stated.
"KICK HIS ASS, MOM!" Tike and Kara cussed but did so in support of the mystic warrior.
Sheila was aghast. "My god, is this really the same goody girl who doesn't like violence?"
"No doubt about it. She will slay the monster," BanchoLeomon replied to the group.
Pikkan added. "With all the experiences from Virus, Arkadimon, and Greil, Kari is the one who will bring the D-Reaper down to submission."
"Don't forget about my former boss Tyrantmon," Sheila reminded them of the head Galactic Pirate. "Having seen her power up close, I'm still honestly scared of that girl."
"Go for it, Kari! Strike Dee down to oblivion!" WarAngemon cheered.
"Yeah Kari!" David and Tike both cheered.
"Strike him down!" Dai-Valkyrie Sedna shouted.
"Good to see her using a sword. Not too often you see any of us use one," Angemon X said, reminding himself of his swordsmanship.
Brunhilde couldn't help but snicker and smile. "Take his ass down."
Super-Reaper looked on in horror as Mystic Celesta quickly vanished. She has become faster than any opponent that Dee had faced up to now. Her speed was clocking very close to light speed. The D-Reaper gasped and turned around to be met with a devastating punch to the gut from Mystic Celesta, and coughs out while holding his embedded chest.
"GAH!" Super-Reaper coughed out and doubled over in excruciating pain.
Mystic Celesta didn't pulling any punches and pummeled Super-Reaper. She struck him with a rapid slew of palm strikes and kicks that overwhelmed the abomination. The angelic female delivered a kick to Super-Reaper's visage and then flipped up into the air. Upon recovering from the blows, Super-Reaper looked up and sighted Mystic Celesta summoning the D-Sword. She swooped right down and brought the blade over the monster.
"Taste the power of the D-Sword!" Mystic Celesta X declared, swinging her sword at him.
Super-Reaper hollered in fear as Mystic Celesta was about to bring down the legendary sword. Mystic Celesta X readied her sword to slice Super-Reaper in half. Super-Reaper could only watch as he is cut in half like butter. The two halves started to twitch and frantically jumped around.
"Yeow! Yeow!" Yelped the Super-Reaper, whose two halves comically hopped around. "Now that was smarts! Ok, enough playing!"
As soon as Super-Reaper pieced himself together, Mystic Celesta bumrushed forward with newfound speed and delivered an elbow shot to Super-Reaper. This stunned the monster for a moment and then stumbled backwards groaning in pain. Super-Reaper quickly recovered from this swift attack and seethed at the newfound power displayed by his opponent. Super-Reaper up to this point had not felt this much pain from an opponent and that infuriated him.
The other heroes are amaze to how much faster and powerful Mystic Celesta has gotten.
Dai-Valkyrie Varuna gawked seeing her in action. "God damn, and barely any of us did any damage that freak!"
"And here's Kari beating him like he owed her money!" Kazu exclaimed.
"C'mon, Kari! Keep it up!" Sedna cheered her on.
"Stay on him!" Angemon X exclaimed.
"She's even stronger than Dee now!" WarAngemon said to his friends.
"Super-Reaper is sure having a bad day! Kick his ass, Kari!" Pikkan hollered.
Ultima X then asked. "What do you think BanchoLeomon?"
"I have a good feeling that the D-Reaper has finally met his match!" The feline Digimon answered.
"Met his match? The new Kari's making putty outta him!" Sam exclaimed.
"Alright, Kari! Stay on her and don't let allow her time to recover!" WarAngemon shouted with encouragement.
"Don't think we need to encourage her at this point, TK," Keke was shocked at how far strong Tai's sister had gotten. There's no way I can catch up to her now! And I wanted to face her back at the tournament, what am I thinking in hindsight?!
"You better not let him get the chance to recover, Kari!" BW shouted toward her.
After recovering from her attacks, Super-Reaper sets himself up and rushed forward to punch his adversary, who was standing just behind Mystic Celesta with his back turned to hers. As soon as Super-Reaper turned to punch her, Mystic Celesta X detected the creature's swift movement and landed a palm strike to the monster's face. Super-Reaper's face contorted and his eyes nearly popped out of the sockets. Mystic Celesta X jumped up and booted Dee's face. Then, she landed a barrage of palm strikes right in the stomach.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Having taken too many palm strikes, Super-Reaper stepped back and retreated in pain. But, Mystic Celesta vanished and phased behind him. She bumrushed him again, catching the monster completely off guard and striking him down to the ground. Super-Reaper stopped himself by skidding and lied with a stunned look.
BanchoLeomon and Pikkan meticulously viewed the whole fight with mouths agape.
Super-Reaper is lying motionless on the ground, but Mystic Celesta X knew better.
"You can knock off that playing possum shtick. It won't make a difference if you're laying down or not," Mystic Celesta scoffed, seeing through Super-Reaper's ploy to trick her.
Super-Reaper hopped onto his feet and put on a confident grin on his face in an attempt to save face. Mystic Celesta slowly walked towards her adversary. Super-Reaper is unable to make a single movement and the last thing he realized...
Wham!
...the mystic Ascendant landed a boot into Dee's abs.
The angelic warrior continued her relentless attack. She quickly grabbed Super-Reaper by his head antenna and swung him around. Super-Reaper hollered out after every swing and Mystic Celesta X flings Dee through a nearby rock hill. After that, Mystic Celesta X glided toward her fallen adversary.
Super-Reaper quickly recovered and pushed his way through out of the fallen rubble. Dee wrenches back and lobbed a blast of energy over towards the Ascendant. However, Mystic Celesta X saw it coming and deflected it with her hands. She braced herself against Super-Reaper's forward attack for another round.
The two fighters continued the battle between nearby abandoned buildings that are in debris, to which they are free to unleash their most powerful blasts at one another without restraint.
Mystic Celesta flings Super-Reaper into the air. Then, the Ascendant teleported in the skies and delivered a clubbed forearm smash into the Dee's stomach. Super-Reaper plunged into the ground with a loud crash.
Boom!

Mystic Celesta X soared down back onto the ground and faced down the newly made crater and felt Super-Reaper's presence from within.
There's no way he could have been survived, but I still better be cautious. Mystic Celesta reminded herself in thought.
As soon as the smoke cloud dissipated, Super-Reaper slowly sat up from his fall and rose from out of the crater while searching his opponent. Suddenly, Dee sensed a familiar energy from behind.

Super-Reaper gasped in shock and then turned to see Mystic Celesta looking down down with a threatening face. The abomination started backing away as he glowered in frustration. It was beginning to sink in the monster's head. The mutated deletion program finally met his match against the mystical Ascendant.
"Give up now," Mystic Celesta flat out told Super-Reaper.
Super-Reaper merely gritted his teeth, seething over his losing efforts.
"I thought you'd give me more trouble than this, D-Reaper."
"Go for it, Kari!" Tike cried out.
"Why isn't she going to finish off Dee? Does she seem to have a plan in mind?" WarAngemon pondered.
"I'm not sure, but we have to trust in Kari's abilities," replied BanchoLeomon.
Keke shouted. "Go for it, Kari! Give him the finishing blow!"
Sedna furrowed her brows and turned to Angemon X. "Why isn't she finishing it?"
"Unless she's intending to make an example out of him..." Angemon X deduced.

A calm smirk etched on Mystic Celesta's face. She then openly insulted him. "You want to keep this going, dumb fuck?" She said so very uncharacteristically even for her.
Upon hearing this, her closest friends from the Ascendant and Kai Destined group freaked out over the insult toward Super-Reaper.
"W-W-Whoa! Did I just hear Kari say that?!" Ultima X flipped out.
Tike smirked. "I guess we know why we cuss, sis."
Kara shrugged. "Our mom's an amateur compared to our sailor mouths."
WarAngemon was flabbergasted by Mystic Celesta's behavior. "Whoa, Kari..."
Sheila smiled nonchalantly. "It's about time she added a bit of attitude to her. Long overdue."
Pikkan concurred. "Yeah, even the nice ones in the heat of battle can shoot their mouth off without self control."
"Pikkan, you really should've been there when she fought Virus," Keke said.
"Sheesh, even that's going a little too far," Kazu gulped.
"Well deserved after all the crap this guy's put us through," Varuna remarked.
"Indeed," concurred Quaoar.
"I would've said worse," Brunhilde chuckled. "And I have said much worse as a kid, too."
"Everyone, stand back!" Angemon X called off the group. "Looks like he's going to blow!"
Super-Reaper's face contorted with anger and his skin converted to beet red. The insult said by Mystic Celesta set off him off and hit him where it hurt.
"You... you... YOU DID NOT JUST CALL ME A NAME!" Super-Reaper bellowed, quivering with anger. "YOU JUST CALLED ME A DUMB FUCK?!" He screeched fiercely and phased out.
Sensing where Super-Reaper was going to strike, Mystic Celesta smirked and felt his movement. She quickly around to her right and punched something hard.
Bam!
It was Super-Reaper, who attempted a sneak attack on her. Mystic Celesta shoved her elbow into his face. Super-Reaper grunted in pain and doubled over. He stumbled back a few times, but Mystic Celesta landed a powerful palm strike that sent the abomination sailing through a rock formation.
Mystic Celesta held her ground and before she could attack, Super-Reaper's loud bellow echoed out and a beam of pink light blasted through the rock formation. A slew of rock debris was sent flying toward Mystic Celesta, who used her sword to break apart the incoming rocks. Hiding amidst the flying rock debris was Super-Reaper. The creature was sighted riding on a big piece of rock flying toward the mystic Ascendant.
"Ah!" Mystic Celesta cried out, taken by surprise as Super-Reaper lunged at her.
The monster cackled and opened his mouth, charging up a powerful beam right in her face. However, Mystic Celesta used quick reflexes and shoved the energy ball down his mouth with one hand. The beam he readily prepared to shoot was sent right back down the monster's throat and caused him to bloat up. Super-Reaper's whole body lit up with discharged pink light and exploded right away.
Ba-Boom!
Everyone braced themselves from the end result explosion. Angemon X and Sedna put up an energy barrier, protecting them and their team from the small-scale explosion. The others backed away. Donarmon and Wildentmon collected KaiserGreymon, who was finally coming to.
"W-What the heck's going on...?" KaiserGreymon groaned, trying to make out the loud commotion.
"Their friend, Kari, is back and she's kicking some major ass now," Wildentmon answered.
"She's faring better than we ever could," Donarmon replied. "Quite honestly Kari with her new power is stronger than all of us 10 warriors combined."
"Hey, I won't complain if she avenges our friends and kills that blob," the Warrior of Wood confessed.
KaiserGreymon eyed Mystic Celesta and growled. But, I should be avenging our friends. Why does she have to do it?
Once the smoke cleared away, Super-Reaper was looking worse for wear. His whole body was covered with burnt marks and wounds. Smoke seeped out from his steam holes. His head was twisted to the right side, his eyes bulged open, and his mouth was hanging to one side.
Wham!
Pweeet!
As Mystic Celesta gut punched him, Super-Reaper's whole body jolted and smoke seeped out of his steam holes. The creature doubled over and fell on his knees. Mystic Celesta landed four successive elbow strikes to the back of Super-Reaper's neck. Having his neck crushed, Super-Reaper spat out and coughed blood.
"Like I said, give up. You can't win, D-Reaper," she said in a calm and collective manner.
As Super-Reaper prepared to crawl away, Mystic Celesta lowered her D-Sword directly to the abomination's neck.
"Don't even think about getting away."
Taking a few deep breaths, Super-Reaper grinned and stood up. His body repaired itself and he realigned his neck.
"Ah, just as I thought, it was you all along."
Befuddled by the creature's remark, Mystic Celesta asked. "Huh? What do you mean?"
(Cue Dragonball Z: Resurrection F OST – Impending Fear)
While patting dust off his pants, Super-Reaper cackled and pivoted facing her directly. "I felt an immense power source from far, far away..."
"What are you talking about?"
"I've been anticipating you ever since I was fighting your friends. While I was fighting them, I could sense your power emanate from a far away place. I felt it growing. My original program told me your power and that of another resonate together... to become this new power you have. Yes, I knew you'd be coming here. I knew you'd be coming here. Yes, and I can't allow another power greater than mine to exist."
"Oh yeah?" The Bearer of Light narrowed her eyes coldly and pointed her sword to him. "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you've been outmatched. Surrender and I'll make this quick." She channeled Homeostasis' light through the blade of her D-Sword. The sword lit up with white light and took on a light saber appearance.
"Kouji, eat your heart out," Donarmon remarked.
"Now fillet his sorry ass!" Brunhilde exclaimed.
"D-Reaper, it's over! This is for all the people and Digimon you've murdered!" The Bearer of Light hefted the D-Sword and prepared to run it through Super-Reaper.
"DO IT!" WarAngemon, Ultima X, Tike, David, and others yelled out, encouraging her.
"NO!" Super-Reaper bellowed loudly as pink column of light formed and encapsulated around him. The pink light guarded him from Mystic Celesta's holy blade. Gritting his teeth, Super-Reaper tensed his whole body and concentrated on charging up energy into his body. "Enough is enough! Now you listen you insects...! Now you'll see what happens to those I hate! Stupid girl! YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS! RAAAAGH!" He bellowed as the sound of his own roars resounded through the vicinity. The features on his face made him look like a crazed lunatic and his body pulsated with immense energy leaking out of him. "I'LL BLOW YOU ALL INTO TINY BITS AND DELETE YOU!" His voice became higher-pitched.

Boom!
A huge shockwave emanated out of Super-Reaper's intense aura. Mystic Celesta backed away from the creature and gripped her sword.
(Cue Digimon Xros Wars OST – Kusen)
"Oh shit, everyone! MOVE AWAY!" Brunhilde warned everyone. "Get away as far as you can!"
"You heard her! MOVE!" Sedna shouted as she and Angemon X flew away with the Kuipers.
Kazu hopped onto Guardromon. The machine took away carrying his Tamer to safety. Donarmon and Wildentmon carried off KaiserGreymon. Phoenixmon carried off Sora and Falcomon. WarAngemon grabbed Tike while Ultima X picked up David. BanchoLeomon, Pikkan, BW, Sheila, Keke, Sam, and Kara flew away.
"Kari, get out of there!" BanchoLeomon yelled out to get her attention.
"He'll blow you away if you get any closer!" BW shouted.
"The hell is he waiting for?!" Sam asked.
"KARI! GATOMON!" WarAngemon and Ultima X cried out in unison.
"You're going to get yourself killed, Kari and Gatomon!" Sora shouted toward Mystic Celesta.
Brunhilde paused halfway and turned to see Mystic Celesta standing off with Super-Reaper.
"Hey, get the hell out of there!" Brunhilde called to the focused Bearer of Light.
Readily charging up her D-Sword, Mystic Celesta glared down the abomination.
"I'm not letting you blow yourself up! I'll stop you if I have to!" Mystic Celesta declared with resolute. As she bumrushed him with her D-Sword, veins popped out all over Super-Reaper's body. She gasped. Oh no, what am I doing?! He blows himself up and I'll get caught up in it! "No, I can't stop!"
Suddenly, Brunhilde took it upon herself and flew across grabbing Mystic Celesta. She then u-turned around Super-Reaper and distanced as far away as possible from the red zone.
"I almost had him!"
Brunhilde replied. "I get what you trying to do, but no way we're letting our biggest trump card die a meaningless death."
"I... I..." The Bearer of Light was at a loss for words. "Um, thanks?"
"Besides, there ain't no way he's going to die from blowing himself up."
"Really?"
"Yeah, say... where's Henry and MegaGargomon?!" Brunhilde realized the absence of the Tamer and his big green-armored friend.
"He was just behind me!" Kazu called out.
"Look!" Ixion pointed everyone to a green source of energy descending behind Super-Reaper.

"HENRY! MEGAGARGOMON!" Shouted Donarmon. "The hell are you two doing?!"
"Operation Doodlebug," KaiserGreymon said. "That's what they're intending to use."
"They're just now going to use it?!" Brunhilde exclaimed.
"Yeah, it got rid of the D-Reaper from our world! This one's supposed to be kinda more advanced, right?" Kazu stated and wondered.
"I'd hope so, Kazu!" Guardromon said.
(Cue Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST – Savior (0:32-1:26))
Super-Reaper felt an immense pressure around him. He turned as Henbu and MegaGargomon merged to become the Beast Biomerger QuakeGargomon. QuakeGargomon stretched both arms out and started spinning himself around the beast. The abomination watched QuakeGargomon spinning around so quickly he could barely see blur movements.
QuakeGargomon's immense form brimmed with neon green light.
"AUGH! NOT THIS AGAIN! WE'RE MOVING FASTER THAN LAST TIME!"
The spirit of Genbu telepathed with Henry. 'Henry, you do realize this tactic will destroy us?!'
Yes, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made! And look once the Digicores are reactivated, they can wish us back.
"WHA...?! BUT WE'VE COME THIS FAR WITHOUT DYING ONCE, HENRY!"
The Tamer resolved. I've made my decision. In my dad's honor and to save this dimension, let our sacrifice be the instrument of D-Reaper's demise!
Super-Reaper noticed his body being torn apart. The Doodlebug 2.0 program was finally initiated. No matter how hard he tried, the abomination couldn't escape his fate. Green columns of light encapsulated and binded him. To avoid destroying the planet, QuakeGargomon took to the sky carrying Super-Reaper.
"NO! THIS WON'T DO ME IN! I WON'T LET YOU DESTROY ME! I WILL SURVIVE THIS!"
QuakeGargomon rebuked with determination. "KISS YOUR LAFFY TAFFY ASS GOODBYE, D-REAPER!"
"NO!"
Once QuakeGargomon shot up past the atmosphere, he closed his eyes and closed his arms around Super-Reaper. The green light engulfed them and exploded.
Ba-Boom!
The green light exploded sending green droplets of energy to rain down from the atmosphere. Everyone present witnessed the sky light up with green radiative light.
"HENRY! TERRIERMON!" Kazu, the Legendary Warriors, and the Kuipers yelled out in unison.
"They actually sacrificed themselves..." Pikkan couldn't believe his eyes.
Brunhilde trembled with shock as she set Mystic Celesta down. "They really did it. They actually pulled it off, but... at what cost? Their lives?"
Mystic Celesta lowered her eyes and sheathed her sword. She only started tearing up. "Giving their own lives just to save us?"
"The instrument used to defeat your D-Reaper was used to destroy this one," BW said.
"We've had too many false hopes. This better be it," Sam added.
"I would hope so," Keke said.
"Dude..." Kazu lowered his head as he reflected on QuakeGargomon's sacrifice. "Man, can't believe he'd do something so stupid."
"Henry, Terriermon," Sedna muttered as she turned and hugged Angemon X.
"If that didn't destroy that freak, then I'm quitting being an idol," Orcus said.
Looking up as more green rain poured, Brunhilde eyed the spot where the explosion took place.
Seadramon, I want to say you and the others have been avenged. And that Operation Doodlebug looks like it did the trick. And I want to thank Henry. This tactic was never used to stop Buu... but, why am I still getting these bad vibes. The Valkyrie remained cautious about the situation.

Earth/Hypnos Headquarters/2:57 PM
"No, Henry! Terriermon!" Suzie cried, grabbing the viewing orb as she teared up. Having seen her brother and his Digimon sacrifice themselves, she still couldn't bear to accept seeing what happened. "You can't really be gone! Just like daddy!" She cried hard only for Lopmon to console her.
"Suzie..." Lopmon embraced the sobbing child.
(Cue Dragonball Kai OST – Agonizing Choice)
Jaarin bit her bottom lip and wiped tears from her eyes. "You two really did it. And without regrets..."
Sam (Joseph) approached Jaarin and comforted her. She turned around and hugged him.
"He saved us all, Jaarin," Sam reassured her. "No, both of them did."
"Oh, Henry, Terriermon..." Jeri said as tears formed in her eyes. She glanced over to Himura, who also took it hard.
Although he didn't shed tears, Himura lowered his head and prayed.
"They won't be gone for long. Once those Digicores get restored, we can wish them all back to life," Inumon said.
"That's if the Digicores ever get restored! We might not even see our friends again!" Felinismon hissed.
"Felinismon, that's enough!" Leomon chided his co-partner. He pivoted Felinismon to glance over the sobbing Jeri. "Consider our friends' emotions. We still lost loved ones today."
"Me and my big mouth..." Felinismon sighed. "Jeri, sorry about that..."
"It's fine, Felinismon. Don't worry, we know the Digicores aren't working now, but we can afford to wait, right? Himura?"
The dark-haired young man nodded, smiling to Jeri. "You bet we will. Hey, Gennai, when are those Digicores going to be activated again?!"
"Once I receive acknowledgment from Other World," Gennai answered Himura's inquiry. "But, we should've gotten a response a long time ago. The Other World really must be in a tight pinch with all of those dead Digimon being checked in. I'm sure they weren't expecting over a billion Digimon souls amassed in less than a day."
"Can't believe that boy and his Digimon were able to pull it off..." Yamaki was shocked by the end result. "But, they truly went out like heroes."
"You heard him, Suzie. Your brother and Terriermon stopped the D-Reaper. He's avenged all of our friends we just lost," Phillipe said, kneeling down beside Suzie.
"Yeah! They kicked the D-Reaper's sorry butt and blasted him into oblivion!" Kenta exclaimed.
"Pipi!" MarineAngemon chirped happily.
As her friends got through to her, Suzie dried her tears and found her smile again. She hugged Lopmon and then nodded to Jaarin.
"Henry and Terriermon won't have much long to wait when the Digicores get reactivated," Izzy addressed the YYGDM group.
"This might call for a celebration!" Tentomon flew around the room.
"Yay! We won!" Mimi cheered and danced with Palmon.
As Yolei was about to cheer, she saw Ken and Tony mulling together as they watched the viewing orb.
"Hey, what's wrong you, two?" The lavender-haired girl confronted the two geniuses. "We won. We should be celebrating."
Ken muttered. "Don't you think that was somewhat too easy?"
"Yeah, this monster seemed pretty indestructible to me," Tony concurred.
"What's there to worry about? Hey, I'm skeptical as they can be, but that program was said to have destroyed another D-Reaper. This one was practically an upgraded version! No way this D-Reaper could've survived a stronger Doodlebug program!"
Gennai overheard their discussion and turned facing the viewing orb again. "It's strange, but whenever someone dies I'd be able to sense their spirits going to Other World. But, here I didn't sense either Henry or Terriermon's..." He silenced everyone in the room when he revealed this detail. "...in fact, they might still be alive."
"What?!" Jaarin and Suzie shouted in unison.
"But, where's the bodies?!" Kenta asked the ex-Digital Knight. "If they're not dead..."
"They're alive!" Suzie cried out with elation.
Then where could they be? Unless... Himura wondered as he deduced their fates.

"What?! How can you be sure neither Henry nor Terriermon are dead?" Takato asked X.
X replied as he settled Takato down. "Look, there's some who can sense when spirits shift from the physical plane over to the spiritual realm. When Rika, Renamon, Izumi, Kouichi, and the others died, I sensed their spirits go to the other side. However, I can't say the same for Henry and Terriermon."
"But, where are they?" Guilmon wondered.
"We can assume the blast sent him someplace in the Digital World," Simms said. "X, are you able to locate their current location?"
"I'm working on it," X concentrated using his watcher's vision to locate Henry and Terriermon. "X, you can help me anytime now."
"Yes, sir."
Tai and Agumon both maintained observation on the viewing orb.
"They did us a huge favor destroying the D-Reaper, Tai," Agumon stated, pivoting to Tai and noticed the serious demeanor his partner wore.
"Yeah..." Tai muttered. "Hey, Lord Shinmon, are you able to sense D-Reaper?"
"No, not a trace right now."
"Then, that means our troubles are over!" Shintomon tried to lighten the mood.
(Cue Dragonball Kai OST – Anxiety and Unease)
However, Gosenzomon offered an opposite statement. "I don't think so." He walked over to the group. "Those two lads that replicated that Doodlebug thing derived from that Juggernaut program's algorithm and converted it into the equivalent of a 'big bang'."
"Wait, how do you know all that being stuck in a sword, sir?" Takato asked the elder.
"I'm a Digi-Deity. Being contained in a sword for millions of cycles doesn't mean I've been behind the times. Besides, I know your two friends used used that power to reduce your dimension's D-Reaper into a form far less complex than a simple calculator. I also know that your dimension's D-Reaper was then converted into Yggdrasil and all the shenanigans that happened with that Masaru fellow..."
"Wow, the old timer pretty much knows everything that went down," the Tamer was taken aback.
Tai smirked. "You're saying this program didn't work?"
"Sadly, it's true," Gosenzomon said. "So, I wouldn't be celebrating anytime soon. The D-Reaper we're fighting is far more advanced than the one you Tamers actively fought. DarkMagimon's father took the necessary precautions to enhance this D-Reaper with dark magic that could nullify deletion programs like the Juggernaut." He addressed Takato and Guilmon. "The D-Reaper is still very much alive as much as your two friends are."
"Then, the conflict's far from over," X sighed deeply. "It would explain why we didn't sense Henry and Terriermon's spirits going to Other World."
"But, where are their bodies?" wondered Agumon. "We need to know if they're ok!"
"Unless D-Reaper's done something with them..." Takato assumed the worst.
"Don't think like that, Takato. We need to stay self-assured your friends are ok!" The Bearer of Courage gritted, not taking his eyes off the orb.

Digital World/Folder Badlands
As the green rain ceased, the group recollected themselves and gathered. Mystic Celesta, WarAngemon, Ultima X, Angemon X, and the Kuipers scoured around searching for the any D-Reaper remains.
"We looked all over and there's no piece of D-Reaper to be found," Keke informed BanchoLeomon.
"Good. That's less work for us," the lion warrior was relieved.
"Still can't believe it's really over," Sam said.
"You made certain everything's clear?" Brunhilde asked the Ascendants and their cohorts.
"For the tenth time, yes," Pikkan grumbled. "What matters more is reviving those two friends of yours."
"I tell you, Henry and Terriermon are absolute bosses to pull off something that awesome," an elated Kazu said. "No way in a million years I'd do something like that."
"Not even for Kiyoko back home?" Guardromon reminded the Tamer of his girlfriend.
"Except, Kiyoko! I'd die for her! Oh, my sweet Kiyoko, we'll be coming home soon!"
"Hey, can you guys feel that?" Tike asked everyone. "Someone's coming!"
"Who is it, bro?" Kara inquired.
"There's two and they're awfully weak."
The warriors paused and turned to their left where two shadowed figures appeared. The figures seemed to be walking toward them.
"He's right! There's two of them!" WarAngemon announced to everyone.
"Can any of you make out who they are?" Sedna wondered.
(Cue Dragonball Kai OST – Satan's Song and Dance)
The two figures walked forward past a dust storm and revealed themselves. It was the father and daughter tandem, Mummymon and Meryl. Mummymon was seen panting hard. Meryl was seen carrying Salamon on her back.
"Need water..." Mummymon panted with a tongue hanging out.
"Poppa! Look!" Meryl tugged on Mummymon's sleeve. "It's them! It's the Digi-Destined and their friends!"
"Wha...?" Mummymon gawked once he sighted the entire group. "Ah, thank goodness! You have no idea how glad we are to find y'all!"
"M-Mummymon?" Mystic Celesta blinked thrice. "And his daughter?"
"Well, well, it's the local village idiot," Pikkan said sardonically. "I'm surprised he survived."
"He likely got spared by D-Reaper," BanchoLeomon reminded the Alterian.
"On second thought, we shouldn't be surprised, right?" Sam shrugged.
"The guys survives by dumb luck," BW remarked.
"Hey! Are we glad to see you!" Meryl bolted over to meet with the group. "We've been walking a long, long way to find someone! Daddy thought we were the only ones left! Ooo, but Dee didn't hurt you, did he?"
"Don't worry we took care of that pink freak," Tike shot her a thumbs up and cracked a big grin.
"Yeah! He won't bother us anymore!" David said.
Kara approached Meryl and patted Salamon. "Ahh, is this your Digimon?"
"Dee found Salamon here and healed her," the bandaged child smirked and held Salamon right over her head. "Yep, he fixed her right up! Right, Salamon?"

Mummymon confronted the adults. "Um, so Dee is really gone?"
"Yes, he is thanks to our efforts and a sacrifice," Mystic Celesta said. "Sorry to say your friend is gone."
Nodding, Mummymon resigned with this reality. "Nah, it couldn't be helped. You only did what y'all had to do. Dee got out of control... as much as I'm gonna miss his ol' chubby self."
"Hey, don't you think we should be getting back?" Sora addressed everyone. "Back to Earth. Gennai can let us know if the Digicores are ready so we can use them."
"That's a good idea," Falcomon approved.
"Well, looks like we're all heading back home then," WarAngemon said, patting Mystic Celesta's back. "You were awesome out there."
Smiling as modestly as she can, Mystic Celesta simply said. "I just wish I had gotten to finish him."
"You helped set up D-Reaper's downfall, Kari," BanchoLeomon interjected. He nodded and smiled to the Bearer of Light. "We're all proud of you."
Angemon X noticed Sedna looking up to the sky where QuakeGargomon detonated himself to destroy Super-Reaper. The Kuipers noticed their leader hadn't moved from her spot.
"Sedna, I think we're about to head back to Earth," Angemon X called to Sedna's attention. He only got a silent response. "Karin?"
What's this strange feeling I can't shake off? Sedna thought.

Other World/Paradise Gateway & Passage
Stumbling upon a crowded check-in station, Rika, Renamon, Izumi, and Tomoki were utterly in shock by the amount of digitized souls filling up the line. Anubimon's workers panicked trying to organize an already crowded room.
"Yikes! When they said it'd be crowded, they weren't kidding!" Tomoki yelled.
"I think we can a guess who's responsible for this," Izumi frowned, pushing through the officer workers. "Excuse me!"
"It's true then. The D-Reaper wiped out billions of Digimon!" Rika said while shoving through officer workers. "Hey, Anubimon! We can do you a favor and help clear this room quicker if you'd tell us if those Digicore things are reactivated!"
Anubimon replied, quickly stamping judgment papers. "I wish I had those particular details, but I've had my hands full here!" He stamped a hell stamp. "To hell with you!" He stamped another paper. "To paradise you go!" He turned to one of his officer workers, a Goblimon dressed in office clothes. "Hey, have power returned to those Digicores?"
"Oh, I was supposed to check?"
"Um, yes! If you can already tell, I'm busy here! What are you dawdling, you busybody! Go!"
"Yes sir!" The Goblimon bolted off to get word on the Digicores.
"Wait, you don't even know if they've been activated?" Renamon asked.
"Look, miss, I've been busy passing judgment to these billions of souls. You try sitting behind this desk and working my job!"
Rika scoffed. "We've got more important stuff to worry about." Man, at least our Anubimon would actually lift a finger to help!
"Hey, mister!" Izumi slammed her hand on a table, quickly prompting Anubimon to stop. "Looks like I got your attention."
"We've been watching the fight with D-Reaper through the TVs. Our friends could use a little help," Rika openly made a proposition to the deity.
Raising a furry brow, Anubimon clamped his claws together. He looked down Rika, Izumi, Renamon, and Tomoki. "What do you suggest, miss?"
"We heard Yamato's somewhere around here. I'd hate to suggest this, but set him free and send him down to help fight D-Reaper.
(Cue Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST – Black Water)
"What?! You want me to send that sadistic monster that's tainted that Chosen who wields the Crest of Friendship?!" Anubimon was baffled by Rika's request.
"We need the strongest players we can find. You want D-Reaper beaten?" Rika asked.
Even Renamon seemed hesitant. "Rika, are you sure about this?"
Anubimon cleared his throat. "Do you realize what you're requesting? We hardly ever release anyone that's confined in Digital Limbo."
"Please," the Digimon Queen requested. "Believe me I wouldn't be asking this if I didn't think this was a good idea. I don't care for that Yamato persona of his, but he's one of our best bets."
Renamon, Izumi, and Tomoki made no objections to Rika's request. Though, they were unsure if Metalla X would make any difference now.
Mulling over this proposition, Anubimon turned his chair and beckoned someone over. It was none other than Taito Yagami. "Taito, I need you to go to Digital Limbo to retrieve him."
"Shall be done," Taito complied as he took the elevator taking him into Digital Limbo.
"You sure you want to do this?" Izumi asked her ginger-haired friend.
Sighing deeply, Rika answered plainly. "You'd rather we go down and fight D-Reaper?"
"Well no, but I'm worried about Takuya and the others."
"Yeah, seeing Kouji, Kouichi, and Dimitro getting killed, what different can we make?" Tomoki said.
"I'm worried for Inumon. And Rika, I'm sure you're worried for our friends still fighting our battle."
"Yeah, we've been out of action for this long, huh?" Rika sighed, recalling that nearly three days have passed since her and Renamon's untimely deaths at Dark Beelzebumon's hands. Takato, I know all about that training you've been doing with Tai. He better have gotten you strong enough to kick D-Reaper's ass! Or, he'll answer to me!
"Wait, what's that about D-Reaper gone?" Anubimon inquired to one of his sources. "Huh? It hasn't been eliminated? What about the ones who initiated that final attack on D-Reaper? Will they be coming to the check-in station...?"
"What?!" Rika and her entourage exclaimed in unison.
"Did we just lose more of our friends?!" Izumi asked.
"No, apparently some boy and a Terriermon who I thought would be coming here are now missing, but still very much alive."
"That's Henry and Terriermon!" Rika spat out. "What else can you tell us?"
"The D-Reaper hasn't been completely destroyed... and that means if he isn't stopped that's more paper work for me."
"Man, things are just getting way out of hand. What the hell's going to happen now?!" Rika cursed, grinding her teeth and staying on edge.

Digital World/Folder Badlands
Mummymon and Meryl were informed of all the Digimon killed by D-Reaper's extinction attack. The champ took this as a big sign that Arukenimon was one of those billions killed. He took it hard, but Meryl took the tragedies harder.
"Can't believe Dee would do such a horrific act!" Mummymon exclaimed.
"Well, it's the truth. We were all witnesses to him killing billions," Pikkan growled. "You better be glad he ain't around to cause anymore unnecessary deaths!"
"Ok, Pikkan, that's enough," BW interjected.
KaiserGreymon shook his head and sighed. "Don't you think we should go get Izumi and Tomoki's bodies at the sanctuary? We kinda left them..."
"Nah, it's fine," Keke reassured him. "While you guys rushed off to pursue D-Reaper after he trashed the sanctuary, the few of us that stayed behind relocated their capsules to Yamaki's place. Their bodies are in good hands."
"Thanks a lot," Donarmon replied.
(Cue Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST – Jenova Theme)
Suddenly, every warrior paused and sensed a surge of evil Ki rising. Mystic Celesta was the first to feel this wicked power and instinctively looked up.
"Do you all feel that?!" Mystic Celesta asked her friends.
"Yeah, that evil power... it's really him, but that's impossible!" WarAngemon was aghast.
"No way, it's really him!" David cried out.
"What?!" Kazu gasped fearfully. "You mean... Henry and Terriermon's sacrifices were for nothing?!"
"That Doodlebug program was supposed to have wiped this monster out!" Eris said.
"Apparently not," Brunhilde added as she pointed to a green ball of light floating toward them. "Look up, everyone!" She eyed the green orb's exterior starting to crack like an egg. "Damn it all! This stubborn son of a bitch just can't die!"
Boom!
The green orb cracked open and emerging from this shell was a completely unscathed Super-Reaper. He descended on a rock formation and cackling evilly.
"Why won't you die?!" Pikkan roared.
"What's it going to take?!" KaiserGreymon snarled, growing frustrated with Super-Reaper's impervious nature.
Mummymon panicked at the sight of Super-Reaper. "It's D-D-D-Dee!" He stammered and cowered behind some of the warriors.
"Dee..." Meryl whispered as she hid next to Tike, David, and Kara. "Ah, Salamon!" She ran over and picked her up. "You don't want Dee to see you!"
BanchoLeomon locked eyes with Super-Reaper and assessed him. "It's only been an hour. What could've changed?"
"That does it. I'm picking up where I left off!" The Bearer of Light quickly drew out and readied her D-Sword. "TK, Davis, back me up."
"Right!"
With that, the trio flew stood together and faced down Super-Reaper.
Sedna whispered to Angemon X. "We should give them a hand."
"Let's let Kari handle this," Angemon X whispered back. "We'll intervene when necessary."
"Ok, D-Reaper, so you survived something that should've killed," Mystic Celesta called him out. "What's so different about you now?"
"His power hasn't changed any. He's the same as he was before," WarAngemon confirmed the monster's power status.
"Heheh," Super-Reaper cackled, as unbeknownst to the heroes he plotted a scheme so sinister none would be prepared for it.

A/N: A nice beat down on Super Dee courtesy of Mystic Celesta and her D-Sword. Unlike in canon, the instrument becomes useful in a battle.

And no surprise, Henry and Terriermon finally nailed Operation Doodlebug Mark II, but with failed results. But, if those two aren't dead, wonder where they could be now? Hmmm.
Rika, Renamon, and company appear to request Yamakins (thanks Jeffrey) to get released to fight. We'll see how this goes.
It should come as no surprise that Dee would survive, otherwise this story would be done. But, he's back and as the next title chapter implies he has a trick up his gooey sleeves.
Nothing else to say now, but Dee makes a quick rebound against the mystic and her friends. Until then, send a review and stay cool.
