Disclaimer: I don't own anything but Phoenix and Thorne
Phoenix stood with Thorne on her shoulder in between Killua, who had a slight bruise on his cheek from being punched by the blonde earlier, and Gon as they faced Biscuit, curious about what she was going to tell them.
"I'm not big on formalities, so call me Bisky. In return, you must obey every word of what I teach you." Bisky instructed.
Of course, it was Killua who rejected the idea immediately, "No way. And no, thanks." Phoenix could understand where her boyfriend was coming from because honestly, she didn't like being told what to do, especially by someone they just met. "We're not desperate enough to beg a total stranger to train us! Say something Phoenix, Gon." The fluffy haired teen said turning to the two.
"We have Wing-san." Was what Gon said.
"I have Netero-sensei." Phoenix put in since she didn't share the same teacher as the two boys, the statement earned her a surprised look from the older woman who had no idea that the Chairman even had a student.
"Right, right." Killua nodded smugly, "We already have our own masters, and we don't need anyone else to teach us."
Phoenix didn't agree with that, there are so many strong people in the world that they could learn a lot from, and she was sure they could learn a lot from Bisky, it's just the way she was saying that she was going to train them without giving the three a choice in the matter that was holding her back.
"Wing?" Bisky asked knowingly, "You mean that little boy with messy hair and glasses? The one that never tucks in his shirt?"
"Do you know him?" Gon asked, surprised that she knew who Killua and his master was.
"Do I know him? Wing's one of my students." Bisky said simply with her hands on her hips, "And everyone knows who the Chairman is." She said directing the statement at Phoenix.
"That's awesome!" Gon exclaimed.
"So, he's become a master now…" Bisky said, talking about Wing again, "Time really flies, huh?"
Phoenix was starting to feel a little lost, having never met Killua and Gon's master before and now to have met the man's master was a little awkward for the toxic eyed teen. Thorne, having sensed that his mother was getting uncomfortable let out a quiet purring noise to try and calm her down. Phoenix smiled at her thoughtful dragon and gave him a scratch under the chin as thanks.
"Does that mean you three are pro Hunters?" Bisky asked them, making sure to include Phoenix since although she wasn't taught nen by her student she was still taught by the Chairman himself.
"Oh, just me and Phoenix," Gon said as Killua pointed at the two with his thumb.
"You've both passed the secret exam?" The blonde then asked.
"Yep!" Phoenix and Gon answered together.
"That really takes me back… Well, I'm essentially the two boy's master's master, so you shouldn't have any problems with me teaching you." Bisky smiled.
Phoenix looked at the two boys and shrugged her shoulders. She would go along with what the boys wanted to do since this was technically their master's master. Phoenix frowned slightly for a moment as she thought about her own master, she hadn't spoken to him since he left her to train on her own once she learnt everything that he had taught her, and now she kind of missed the crazy old man. Maybe it was time to call and check in.
"Wow!" Exclaimed Gon, impressed once Bisky told them about the time she was an examiner for the Hunter Exams. "You've been an examiner!"
"Assuming that she's telling the truth." Killua said with some doubt in his voice.
"I don't see a reason that she would lie about something like that though." Phoenix said to her boyfriend as she lifted Thorne off her shoulder and held him in her arms so she could stroke his spine.
Killua just tilted his head a little before turning back to Bisky who had walked up to him and was now in his face, "You're a stubborn little boy. I like to see that in kids." Bisky smirked before leaning away from the teen, "You said that you weren't desperate, right? Book."
Once Bisky had her book out she pulled out a card that the three saw was the little black fuzzball that was giving them some trouble earlier.
"That card…" Said Gon just as surprised as the other two.
"Look carefully. It's difficultly to obtain is ranked D." At this Phoenix sweat dropped at how much trouble the three had with such a low ranked card. "It's a normal card that doesn't go in the restricted slot. The problem is that there are many people who could have effortlessly obtained this card, while you three could not. If you run into someone who's stronger and has evil intentions…"
Phoenix faintly heard what sounded like two pieces of metal scraping against each other, either a pair of daggers or maybe scissors, the teen wasn't too sure. But what she was sure about was that while Bisky couldn't have heard the noise since she didn't have dragon ears like she did, she must have sensed the persons nen.
Bisky sat down calmly, obviously not wanting to alert the person spying on them that she knew he was there, "Sit down… Pretend that we're chatting."
Phoenix kneeled on one knee, ready to move in case the person attacked, Thorne quickly climbing back on her shoulder, so he didn't get squished. Killua and Gon just bent down with their hands on their knees confused about why the two girls suddenly became so serious.
"There's an enemy behind me." Bisky told the two boys, she saw the look in Phoenix's eye the same moment that she sensed the person, she just wondered how the younger girl knew he was there. She didn't have enough experience to be able to sense someone so far away who was using Zetsu.
Bisky's words made Killua and Gon finally drop to their knees when Phoenix nodded her head to confirm the blonde's word since she knew they wouldn't just believe her. Phoenix narrowed her eyes slightly, she could hear mumbling coming from a pillar a far distance behind Bisky, but she couldn't make out what the person was saying. She could tell from the deepness of the voice that the person was a man.
"Don't probe for him. He'll notice." Bisky warned them but mostly aiming her words to Phoenix who had her eyes narrowed.
"I wasn't probing him; I was listening to him," Phoenix told her honestly.
"Listening? From this far away?" Bisky whispered to herself impressed with the younger girls hearing range, it must have something to with her hatsu.
"How did you sense him?" Killua asked, already knowing about Phoenix's amazing hearing although he didn't know how she was able to hear from so far away. Her words reminded him that he needed to ask her about that.
"He let a tiny bit of bloodlust escape." The blonde explained, "The enemy saw a bunch of kids, and he relaxed for a second."
"Does that mean he's weak?" Killua asked seriously.
"The opposite actually." Phoenix answered, "None of us noticed him up until that moment and only Bisky was about to sense him."
Bisky nodded her agreement, "He immediately concealed his presence again." She added, "It was only the slightest bloodlust, and he quickly concealed it, so he's pretty good."
"What should we do?" Killua asked now knowing that Bisky was leagues above them.
"What do you think?" The blonde asked them, wanting to know what they were thinking.
"Us four should move together." Gon stated.
"Why do you say that?" Bisky asked.
"I'm guessing he decided to use caution because there are four of us. If we stick together, he'll be less eager to attack." Explained Gon.
"I agree," Killua said while Phoenix nodded her head.
"Well, you're right." Bisky acknowledged, "But that's not what we're going to do. If I go off on my own, the enemy is one hundred percent guaranteed to attack me. I'll go south. You guys go north. Walk five hundred meters without concealing your presences. Aim for that pillar." Bisky instructed looking over a pillar that stuck out over the others. "Once you get there, use Zetsu, then rush back immediately!"
"Okay, sounds like a plan- "Phoenix started to say but was stopped by a loud skin hitting skin sound, her head was suddenly facing the side and her left cheek started to sting. Thorne let out a screech of surprise and jumped onto Killua's shoulder in case his mother fought back.
Blinking a few times to try and work out what just happened it took a moment to realize that Bisky had just slapped her across the face, for no reason. Phoenix sat frozen before looking back at the blonde in utter disbelief.
Killua and Gon sat frozen, completely shocked and confused about what just happened, "Huh?" They both said before Killua's rage started boiling in his chest and he began to glare dangerously at Bisky.
"Fine, then! Be that way!" Bisky shouted as she stood up angrily. "I've had enough! Bye-bye." She said as she walked away.
"Yeah, get lost! We didn't want you around!" Killua screamed after her as he jumped to his feet before turning and helping his girlfriend, who was now holding her cheek with a slight pout, to her feet. "Come on, Gon, Phoenix! Let's go." He said walking in the opposite direction as Bisky, with his hand wrapped around Phoenix's. "So long, stupid!" the fluffy haired teen couldn't help but yell out, because even if this was all an act the old hag still hurt Phoenix.
The three walked for a bit in silence with Phoenix rubbing her cheek that was turning bright red with a handprint. She couldn't believe that Bisky slapped her, there were so many better, less painful ways to separate the four of them.
Killua sighed and pulled Phoenix to his other side so he could check out her cheek as they walked, and make sure that nothing was broken. Thorne took that opportunity to jump back onto his mother's shoulder and rubbed his face against her neck.
Once Killua was certain that all Phoenix was going to have was a slight bruise on her cheek for a couple days at most, he picked up her hand again and gave it a squeeze.
"That woman really is something." Killua commented after a few minutes of silence. "I was on full alert, so I'd be ready to react at a moment's notice. But I didn't realize what she'd done until a few seconds after she slapped Phoenix."
The three continued to the pillar in silence after that, not sure what to say.
"Let's hurry back." Killua said as the three finally made it to the pillar. Phoenix and Gon nodded before the three started to run back the way they came with Zetsu activated and Thorne holding on tight to Phoenix's strap.
When three arrived at the place that Bisky and the enemy were they found that one of the women's blonde pigtails had been cut off and the enemy seemed to be eating a bit of her hair, which was disgusting and made Phoenix want to gag at the sight.
"I will learn everything about your body before I begin to toy with it…" Phoenix heard the man with dark red hair say from in front of Bisky, before pausing with a look of shock on his face. She quietly told the two boys what he was saying since they probably couldn't hear him.
Although Phoenix wondered how he could learn everything about Bisky's body before guessing that the red head's nen ability had something to do with eating his opponent's hair or something. That was honestly one of the most disgusting things Phoenix had ever had the displeasure of hearing.
Phoenix watched, confused as the man look the left-over hair out of his mouth, and put his scissors away before taking his belt off and folding it in front of him as he knelt down.
Standing up the man got into a fighting stance, "My fighter's spirit insists that I challenge you to a duel."
"I guess you aren't a total deviant." Bisky stated as she took of her white gloves, "Very well." The blonde quickly got into a fighting stance herself and waited for the man to attack her.
After that Phoenix could honestly say that it was mostly a one-sided smack down with Bisky the one doing the smacking. It was over in two moves, first Bisky threw him over her shoulder into the air where he spun for a moment before the blonde gave him a strong, solid palm strike right in the middle of his back, all without using her nen. As the man lay there in pain, Phoenix could only gape in awe at the blonde's strength.
"You're lucky." Bisky said, addressing her downed opponent, "If I'd used my nen, you would be dead. During that battle what did you see first?" The blonde asked the three friends as they finally joined her in the large crater, she was in.
"The guy being flipped through the air." Gon told her.
"Same here." Phoenix and Killua said at the same time as Phoenix gave Thorne some scratches under his chin.
"If he were an in-game character, he'd have a D rank in terms of difficulty. It would be instant game over for you guys." Bisky explained to the three. "That makes the second time I've seen you barely escape death. How long will your good fortune last?"
The three turned to the blond with frowns on their faces at what Bisky was implying, "Bisky-san…" Gon started but was interrupted by the blonde.
"Just call me Bisky." She told the three teens, "If you insist on an honorific, call me Bisky-chama!"
'That's sama and chan mixed into one, isn't it?' Phoenix thought to herself with a blank look on her face and distant chuckle in the back of her mind.
"I'll just call you Hag." Killua said looking away from the blonde, this caused him to be sent flying with an upper cut from said blonde again.
"Why are you here Bisky?" Gon asked ignoring the fact that one of his best friends was just sent flying and Phoenix was just watching him fall back down to the ground.
Bisky turned back to Gon at the same time as Phoenix, who was also interested in the woman's answer. "Well, I'm here to clear the game, but I'm mainly after a jewel."
"A jewel?" Phoenix asked herself before speaking louder, "So you're a treasure Hunter?" She asked curiously.
Bisky nodded proudly, "I'm a stone Hunter, I go around and uncover gems and jewels." She told the young girl who nodded her understanding. "Anyway, there's a jewel that can be found here. It goes in restricted slot #81… Blue Planet. What about you guys?"
"We're here to clear the game, obviously." Killua said, standing up from the place he landed, rubbing the cheek that Bisky punched.
"Actually, my dad made this game." Gon admitted much to Bisky's surprise, "I'm looking for my dad, so I thought this game might contain a lead."
"Who's your dad?" The blonde then asked.
"Ging Freecss." The brown eyed teen answered.
"Ging!?" Bisky asked startled.
"You know him?" Gon asked hopefully.
"You bet I do! He's famous. Chairman Netero once said he was one of the top five nen users…" Bisky said excitedly.
Gon closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath before opening them again, "Bisky, if you'd be willing to postpone your treasure hunt, please teach us nen!"
"You've finally come around?" The blonde asked rhetorically with a wide smile, "I'm a lot tougher than Wing, not sure about the Chairman though, are you ready?" The blonde warned.
"Yes!" Phoenix and Gon said, excited about getting back into training.
"What about you?" The blonde asked directing the question to the boy behind the two.
"I'll be fine," The fluffy haired teen reassured just before the red-haired man lying on the floor woke up with a coughing fit.
"Take out all your cards." Bisky said looking down at the man who agreed and called out his Book with no resistance as Bisky took them. "I'm going to give you a chance. You must evade their attacks for two weeks! If you're successful, I'll let you escape. If you're knocked unconscious or can't stand… I will kill you." Bisky warned seriously.
"I just have to avoid their attacks, right? It doesn't matter what I do to them?" The man clarified, looking at the three with an insane look in his eyes that made Phoenix glare at the man.
"Sure. But there's one rule." Bisky stated, "You aren't allowed to leave this crater. If you break this rule, you lose, and I'll kill you."
"What about us?" Killua asked wanting to know if the rules were the same for them.
"The same rules apply." The blonde said like it was obvious as the man stood up and got ready, "If you leave, or fail to defeat him after two weeks, you'll be punished." This made the three friends get serious. Bisky looked over the man they'd be fighting for the next two weeks, "You're the Bounty Hunter Binolt, right? There's a bounty on his head, as well. He's a brutal murderer."
Before the four of them could get ready for the next two weeks Phoenix quickly made her way over to Bisky with Thorne in her arms, "Bisky, I was wondering if you could look after Thorne while we fight? I don't want him to get hurt is all." The young teen asked with a small smile on her face.
"Of course." Bisky said taking the baby dragon from her arms and letting the reptile climb up her body so he was sitting on her shoulder comfortably.
Phoenix smiled thankfully before joining the boys as they stood facing their opponent. "Begin!" Bisky called out just as the sun started to spill into the crater.
'The next two weeks are going to be fun.' Phoenix thought to herself with a smirk as she charged at Binolt with Gon and Killua at her side.
A/N: Hey guys, sorry it took so long to get a chapter up, I just need a little break. My grandpa died recently, and I just needed a little break to heal and get back into things. I hope you guys understand.
A BIG thank you to LolforeverxD from Quotev, for being my amazing editor!
FFAB: Phoenix loves anything sweet and she can't stand bitter things. It's why she prefers hot chocolate over coffee any day.
Answer from the last chapter: I honestly want Phoenix and Bisky to become great friends and that's what I plan to do with Bisky and Phoenix, have a strong teacher/student bond that's going to be a little stronger then the bond the boys have with Bisky.
The question of the chapter: What are some names you guys would want some of Phoenix's attacks to be called? I have quite a few ideas, but I want to know what you guys want.
Thank you for reading my fanfiction, I love you guys.
Please follow, favorite and review, I would really appreciate it.
