"You can't wake up, this is not a dream,
You're part of a machine, you are not a human being

Low on self-esteem, so you run on gasoline."

Isabella

I played with the ends of my hair as I entered the throne room. The boys were seated throughout the room near the thrones, Edward sitting on the platform in front of them all.

I bit my lip as I debated my seat. I could sit with Edward and have a view of the entire room or sit with Major and be able to focus solely on Edward.

"Come here." Edward murmured.

I danced over to him and slid into his lap. "You can start." I said simply.

He sighed and nodded. "In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous yet beautiful creatures who lured nearby sailor with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coasts of their island.

"The early Christian euhemerist interpretation of mythologized human being received a long-lasting boost from Isidore's Etymologiae. "They [the Greeks] imagine that 'there were three Sirens, part virgins, part birds,' with wings and claws. 'One of them sang, another played the flute, the third the lyre. They drew sailors, decoyed by song, to shipwreck. According to the truth, however, they were prostitutes who led travelers down to poverty and were said to impose shipwreck on them.' They had wings and claws because Love flies and wounds. They are said to have stayed in the waves because a wave created Venus.""

Edward paused and everyone looked at me. I bit my lip and played with my hair as he continued.

"Sirens continued to be used as a symbol for the dangerous temptation embodied by women regularly throughout Christian art of the medieval era; however, in the 17th century, some Jesuit writers began to assert their actual existence, including Cornelius a Lapide, who said of Woman, "her glance is that of the fabled basilisk, her voice a siren's voice—with her voice she enchants, with her beauty she deprives of reason—voice and sight alike deal destruction and death.""

Edward finished simply. "But it doesn't matter because Isabella isn't a siren."

"We established that." Ethan said with an eye roll.

"Exactly." The Major added. "So what is she?"

"Isabella?" Edward muttered.

"No."

Edward

Her answer was resolute. There would be no changing that. This meant that I would be explaining tonight's theory of what Isabella would become upon changing.

I sighed and started. "Isabella is most at ease or at peace when?" I asked, particularly to the Major.

"In water or near fire. Never both clearly." He answered.

I sighed again and ran a hand through my hair. "Pay attention. I'm not going through this twice."

Once I received nods of agreement from everyone present, I continued.

"Undines are a category of elemental beings associated with water, first named in the alchemical writings of Paracelsus. Later writers developed the undine into a water nymph in its own right. Undines are almost invariably depicted as being female and are usually found in forest pools and waterfalls."

I took a breath to pause and shifted Isa in my lap as I continued. "Paracelsus believed that each of the four classical elements, earth water air and fire, is inhabited by different categories of elemental spirits, liminal creatures that share our world: gnomes, undines, sylphs and salamanders respectively.

"As I said before undines are almost invariably depicted as female, this is consistent with the ancient idea that water is a female element. They are usually found in forest pools and waterfalls and their beautiful singing voices are sometimes heard over the sound of water."

When I finished everyone was silent for about a minute.

"But Isabella has a fire power." Marcus said slowly.

"Yeah, that's a story for another time." Isa answered. "I have a lot of powers that are unparalleled to a lot of things that are happening, don't you think?"

"Clearly, you're other worldly." Jack said in awe, his twin Justin nodding in agreement.

Isa bit her lip and nodded in acceptance.

"Seriously." The Major said quietly. "Forever in awe of you."

"Can we stop this now?" she huffed causing everyone to laugh.

"This cannot be shared with anyone. Not right now." Marcus decided. "It puts Isabella in more danger than she's already in and without her all of us are dead."

"Deader." Isabella corrected almost silently.

I nipped at her neck in warning and the Major leveled her with a glare. She submitted beautifully and melted in my arms.

"So what do we now?" Jackson asked.

"Now, we continue with our lessons and listen to every word I say." Isa answered. "Tomorrow, I have things to get you guys caught up on. Rosalie and Alice are getting sloppy and making my life much easier than ever before."

"Is it detrimental?" the Major asked.

"Not really. The story their copying takes longer to go over than what they're actually doing but it won't make sense without the lesson." She answered.

He nodded his acceptance. She's tired. Take her to bed.

I nodded and shifted Isa in my arms. "Time for bed."

She pouted but didn't argue as I carried her to bed. "Stay with me." She said smoothly.

"Always."

I laid her next to Ang, who reached out and laced their fingers together in her sleep. I slid onto the bed behind her and ran my hand through her hair as she fell asleep almost instantly.

About an hour later, the Major came in the room. He lay on the other end of the bed and started to run his hand through Ang's hair.

Do you know why she's a water nymph with fire powers? He asked me silently.

"No." I answered honestly. "I do know, however, no one will find out anything else until the Egyptian coven arrives and that there are two other vampires that adore her and will help her with everything."

Do you know who they are?

I shook my head. "She's very good at only giving the need to know, even without trying to."

No other problems?

"Not as far as she knows." I paused. "There isn't really a formula for this Major."

Doesn't mean we can't be prepped for anything happening.

"That's why she does all those lessons." I laughed softly. "Despite the fact that most of the things are things she's genuinely interested in, they are relevant."

I never doubted that. She does a god majority of things to piss off Aro and Caius though.

"True but she's been doing that since you were here with Peter so is it really anything new?"

He laughed softly. Fair enough. Do you know what's happening with him and Charlotte?

"You're gonna want to hear that from her and Ang."

He nodded and glanced at the girls.

They're gorgeous. They're fucking brilliant; they see shit none of us do and they find it within seconds.

"They're the most beautiful girls. They'll make devastatingly gorgeous vampires." I said glancing at the girls as well. "And they have to be brilliant to be with us Major. Their thoughts aren't their own and neither are their emotions."

We both know if Isabella wanted to, we'd be in the dark with the rest of the castle.

"We also know that Isabella runs this castle, which means she runs everything and everyone in it. Us included."

Good thing they don't feel the need to hide from us isn't it.

"They need a break sometimes." I smirked.

We'll take them on a vacation until they miss rain and snow when it's all said and done.
