I own NOTHING!

Bash POV

"Iseabail!" I yelled as she fainted in my arms.

"Iseabail!" Nicolas yelled behind me. "What happened?" he yelled as I gathered her up into my arms.

"We have to get her to Nostradamus!" I shouted as I took off down the hall. Nicolas was close behind me, shouting to people in front of us to get out of the way.

Once we reached the doors of Nostradamus's chambers, Nicolas quickly ran in front of me and threw open the doors and ran in; "Nostradamus?" he yelled.

"My Lord?" asked Nostradamus as he came out of another room drying his hands.

"She fainted!" I said placing Iseabail on a patients' bed. "She's been complaining of headaches for a few months and she just now stopped an attempt on Nicolas's life, so she was rather excited. All of sudden she said she didn't feel so well and then fainted in my arms." I said as I stepped aside so Nostradamus could take a look at her.

"I'll send for Mary." said Nicolas as he made for the door.

I could only nod as Nostradamus looked over my wife.

"And Lady Lola." Nostradamus called out.

"Why?" Nicolas and I asked at the same time, we both walked closer to see what he had found.

"She's been poisoned." said Nostradamus as he held up Iseabail's hand for us to see.

There was a small cut on Iseabail's palm, it had already begun to blister.

"How?" I whispered.

"The knife." stated Nicolas.

I looked at him confused.

"When Iseabail stopped the knife, the woman must have scratched her with it. The knife must be laced with poison." explained Nicolas.

"I'll need that knife." said Nostradamus as he stood up and went over to his herbs. "And I do need Lady Lola; she is a good aid in a crises, plus it's Lady Iseabail; Queen Mary and her ladies will want to be here."

"I'll get them." said Nicolas and he took off.

I sat down on the bed and took Iseabail's other hand. "Will she be alright?" I asked.

"I need the knife to see what poison she was exposed to." said Nostradamus as he grabbed a water bowl and a cloth.

I moved out of the way as Nostradamus took my place, after dipping the cloth in the water he placed it on Iseabail's hand.

"The cool water should slowly down the blistering." stated Nostradamus.

"How is she?" yelled Greer as she, Lola, and Kenna came running in.

"Nicolas said she was poisoned!" yelled Kenna.

"Here is the knife." said Lola, handing it to Nostradamus; "Nicolas tracked down the guard who had it."

"Where is Mary?" I asked.

"Still talking to the Queen, I sent a servant for her." said Nicolas as he joined us. "How is she?" he asked looking down at Iseabail.

Kenna had taken Nostradamus and I's place, holding Iseabail un-blistered hand.

"Has she woken at all?" asked Lola as she stood beside Nostradamus, who only shook his head.

"Iseabail!" yelled Mary running in, she located Iseabail on the bed and went start to her. "What happened?" she asked.

"After you left to speak to the Queen, Iseabail went pale white and then fainted in Bash's arms." explained Nicolas.

"It looked as if she couldn't focus, she was looking straight at me but it looked like she could see me." I said.

"Where her eyes flicking back and forth?" asked Lola.

"Yes." I nodded.

Lola and Nostradamus exchanged a look.

"What is it?" asked Greer.

Nostradamus wiped the knife on a cloth and then sniffed it, "It smells sweet." He stated and held it out to Lola.

"Taxus baccata." whispered Nostradamus.

"What is that?" asked Kenna.

"English Yew….it's looks like a berry split open. Just a touch of it in the blood can cause a person to collapse….." Lola said and looked at Nostradamus.

"As well as an increase in heartbeat, convulsions, difficulty breathing, and eventually heart failure." continued Nostradamus.

Greer, Kenna, and Mary all sucked in a breath.

"That's why Catherine asked if Nicolas had been scratched with the knife." whispered Mary.

"She's going to die?" screamed Kenna.

"No!" Nicolas and I yelled together.

"We need to draw out the poison." said Nostradamus.

"We need to make her sweat it out." said Lola.

Nostradamus nodded, "We need blankets and lots of them."

"We'll go!" said Greer, grabbing Kenna's hand, the two quickly ran out the doors.

"We should place her by a fire as well." said Lola looking around.

"In my rooms." Nostradamus said pointing to the doors he had just come out of when Nicolas and I brought Iseabail in. "The weather has been warm, I don't have a fire going at the moment." he added.

"Nicolas, help me build a fire." said Mary as she ran to the bedroom doors.

"I don't know how..." said Nicolas shaking his head.

"You don't know how to start a fire?" yelled Greer.

"Bash! Come with me!" yelled Mary.

I was reluctant to leave Iseabail's sight.

"Quickly." said Nostradamus looking at me. "The faster the better for her."

I nodded and quickly followed Mary.

...

"The fire steel is on the mantel." said Mary pointing. "I'll grab the wood."

I remained silent and grabbed the steel, there was some flint on other side. Mary quickly put small twigs and sticks beside me. Quickly building a small lean-to, I set the flint in the middle and started to flick the fire steel.

"What man doesn't know how to start a fire?" Mary whispered.

I couldn't help but smile, "Hey I'm stuck with him by blood. You're the one marrying him, by choice." I whispered back.

Mary rolled her eyes at me but side smiled as well, but then the smile went away. "She can't die." Mary whispered.

I stayed silent and continued to work on the fire, the flames had just come to life when Lola came through the doors. "Over here." she said as Greer and Kenna followed her in; all carrying blankets and pillows.

Nostradamus was right behind them, dragging the small bed. "My bed would be more comfortable but we need her as close to the fire as possible." explained Nostradamus.

I nodded and looked down at the bed, but Iseabail wasn't in it.

The girls were organizing the blankets when Nicolas walked with Iseabail in his arms.

Once Nostradamus had the bed near the fire place, Nicolas gently placed Iseabail on the bed, I stayed out of the way so the girls could organize the pillows and blankets around her, but Nicolas stayed where he was and brush Iseabail's hair behind her ears.

He noticed me watching him and quickly moved to the side, once the girls were done, I moved round the bed and took Iseabail's hand. "Now what?" I asked as I gazed down at her face.

"Now we wait and let her rest." said Nostradamus.

"For how long?" asked Greer. "When will she wake up?"

Lola and Nostradamus stared a look.

"When will she wake up?" Kenna asked again.

"We just have to wait." said Lola sadly.

"In the meantime, I think it's best if you all go and rest yourselves." said Nostradamus.

"No!" I yelled.

"I'm not leaving!" yelled Mary.

"Not happening!" said Kenna.

"Are you mad?" said Nicolas.

"What?" yelled Greer.

"Nostradamus is right….the less people in here the better. I will help him with Iseabail. Besides…it is going to get rather hot in here." said Lola.

I squeezed Iseabail's hand. "I can't leave her!" I whispered.

"She needs rest, my lord." said Nostradamus. "And quiet."

Mary sighed, "Fine…we need to do what is best for Iseabail. We would just be in the way."

I could only nod, leaning forward I kissed Iseabail on the forehead. "I'll see you soon. I love you." I whispered.

Standing I lead the way out the door but I stopped to take one last look at Iseabail and I noticed Nicolas do the same, he looked at her as if…as if he too would be lost without her….like he was in love.

But that couldn't be right; I knew that Nicolas and Iseabail were close but surely he was upset that she was like this because she save him….he must be felling regret and remorse.

"Nicolas…." I said drawing his attention.

Nicolas quickly withdrew his eyes and looked at me; nodding he followed the girls and me out.

I heard Lola close the doors behind us.

"What do we do now?" asked Kenna.

"Pray!" said Mary.

I bowed my head and sent up a silent prayer, that I would see my wife again….alive.

So...Iseabail is super sick. Will she wake up? And is Bash figuring it out? Will he soon found out that his Brother is in love with his wife?

Short chapter I know…but I wanted to update! Let me know what you think! I LOVE reviews!

Taxus baccata –English Yem or European Yem

=Symptoms of yew poisoning include an accelerated heart rate, muscle tremors, convulsions, collapse, difficulty breathing, circulation impairment and eventually heart failure. However, there may be no symptoms, and if poisoning remains undetected death may occur within hours.[21] Fatal poisoning in humans is very rare, usually occurring after consuming yew foliage. The leaves are more toxic than the seed.[18]
