As always, if you recognize it, I don't own it. Enjoy dearies!

Child birth, Blaine decides, is nothing like the movies.

It's not frantic and fast paced. In reality the entire process creeps along so slowly that Blaine is ready to just call it quits. He's tired, in pain, sweaty, and quite frankly, annoyed.

"Would you stop that?" Blaine snaps at Kurt as he once again starts reading all the papers from the impressive range of monitors Blaine is currently hooked up to. "You don't even what any of that stuff means."

"I understand how a heart monitor works Blaine Anderson, and I'll be damned if I don't know that both yours and the baby's heart rate is steady and strong." Kurt responds adamantly, and a rush of shame covers Blaine. Kurt is just trying to be a good, supportive, and loving boyfriend while Blaine is taking all of his pain and frustration out on the man he loves.

"I'm sorry, Kurt. I'm being terrible right now, and I know it. Maybe you should go find the cafeteria with Ashlynne."

Kurt's gaze softens, and he gives Blaine's hand a gentle squeeze. "I know you're in pain, love, and that this is probably up on the top ten list of 'never want to do this again'. If it'll help you, then yell at me. Yell at me as loud as you want for as long as you want because no matter what happens I am going to be right here by your side. This is our child that you're helping bring into the world. This is our life that we're going to build together. I can handle getting yelled at if it means our family is the end result."

Tears slide down Blaine's cheeks, and he feels the sudden urge to thank God for blessing him with such a wonderful man. Blaine holds Kurt's hand so tight that Kurt can't tell if it's because of another contraction, or because Blaine never wants to let him go.

"Does it normally take this long?" Ashlynne questions the doctor after she's finishing checking Blaine for how far he's dilated.

Doctor Graham writes something down on a clipboard as she responds, "Well, Blaine is seven centimeters dilated so far out of ten. That's not too bad considering he's only been in labor for about six hours. Many first-time parents experience deliveries that last anywhere from sixteen to twenty-four hours."

Ashlynne's eyes widen as she says, "I'm never having kids."

The adults laugh, though Blaine's breathy, tired laugh gets lost in another contraction.

"Blaine, I need you to push. Now." Came Doctor Graham's stern voice.

Blaine shakes his head with a simple, "I don't want to."

"Blaine, honey, listen to me." Kurt's voice implored. "I need you to push now so that we can meet our baby, ok?"

"But it hurt's Kurt." The younger man whimpers.

"I know, love, I know. But you have to do it if you want to meet our little peanut."

Blaine nods then bears down, pushing instinctively. He'd been at this for the better part of an hour, and didn't feel as though any progress had been made. The contraction let up, and with it Blaine stopped pushing.

"Alright Blaine, I can see the head. If you can give me one more good push, you can meet your little one. Think you can do that for me?" Doctor Graham asks.

Blaine nods, too exhausted to form actual words, and Kurt smooths back his sweat soaked hair. "You're doing absolutely fantastic love."

"Push Blaine!"

Blaine grunts, and bears down with all he has, hoping it's enough. He pushes for what feels like forever, and he's seriously starting to consider giving up when all at once the pressure he's been feeling for the last ten hours ceases.

"It's a girl." The doctor announces through the ringing in Blaine's ears he hadn't noticed was there.

"A girl." Is his breathy response, and he looks at Kurt with a grin only to find that Kurt is completely enamored by the newborn. It seems as though she's already stolen his heart.

"Who wants to cut the cord?" Kurt steps forward a half-step before halting, and looking at Blaine as though for permission. Blaine smiles, and nods encouragingly at the older man. It's Kurt's daughter too, after all.

Kurt carefully cuts where the nurse shows him, and can only stare in amazement as they swaddle the baby, and place her in his arms. He carefully walks back over to the bed, eager to let Blaine hold their daughter for the first time.

There's a flurry of movement happening around them, but neither Kurt nor Blaine take notice as they count each finger and toe, and gently trace each tiny feature. Lost in the world of their perfect, little daughter.

"So what's her name?" Ashlynne asks, looking up from the sleeping baby in her arms to look at the new parents.

The teenager had left not too long before Blaine started pushing, stating that there were some things that sister's just weren't meant to see. She had quickly returned after learning that she now has a niece.

Blaine smiles at the pair, and watches as Ashlynne tucks the blanket closer around the baby. "Well, I actually chose the name shortly after meeting Kurt. I knew if the baby was a girl I wanted to name her something that held meaning. Kurt helped me so much when I was at my lowest, and then you, Ashlynne, showed up, and everything just kind of fell into place."

"Dude, stop beating around the bush, and just tell me already."

Kurt grins, responding with, "Her name is Hope Olivia Hummel."

"That's a beautiful name." Ashlynne responds, grinning at the couple in front of her.

"You don't mind, do you?" Blaine questions uncertainly. The last thing he wants to do is offend his sister by naming his daughter after her.

"Mind? Heck no, this is the coolest thing ever! Now I can rub it in Finn's face that you guys named the baby after me. You know, cause I'm the cool one."

Kurt snorts, and gently takes the newborn back from the vivacious red-head. "Please, like I would ever name my daughter Finnessa."

The trio laugh, and Ashlynne quickly realizes something she had failed to notice beforehand. "Wait a sec. You said Hope Olivia Hummel. Are you two finally going to get married? Oh my God, did you finally propose, Kurt? I helped you pick out that ring weeks ago, and I've been wondering-"

She cuts off abruptly seeing Kurt's wide eyes and frantically shaking head. "I mean, ringtone. I totally helped Kurt pick out his new ringtone. I mean, who doesn't love Hamilton, am I right?"

Alas, her quick diversion fails as Blaine asks, "Kurt, what is she talking about?"

Silently, Kurt passes Hope over to Blaine, and slips down on to one knee, fishing a small velvet box out of his pocket.

"I wanted to do this a little bit more conventionally with the whole perfect surprise romantic date and everything. However, considering our lives are anything but conventional, and that some people," He casts a teasing glance over at Ashlynne who, incidentally, wasn't even trying to hide her excitement, "don't understand what the word 'surprise' means, I'd say this is our own version of perfect. I did have a whole speech planned out, but if you say yes then I'll have forever to give it to you. So, Blaine Devon Anderson, will you marry me?" Kurt questions, voice full of love and contentment.

"You've had the ring for weeks, and you're just now asking me?"

"Um….Is that a yes?"

"Of course it's a yes, it's been a yes since the moment I met you."

"Oh thank God." Kurt responds, and hurries to place the ring on Blaine's finger, a simple silver band with intricate designs of diamonds criss-crossing over each other.

"It's perfect." Blaine compliments, turning to capture Kurt's lips with his own.

The pair separate quickly, and Ashlynne nearly jumps over to the bed in her excitement. "Yay! I'm so excited! Alright, time for our first official family photo!" The teenager says as she gets out her phone and opens the camera app.

"Everyone say 'Klaine!'"

Wow, so I think this is the longest I've ever gone without writing, and trust me when I say that it sucked. Life has been crazy lately, and it just seems to be getting crazier. Luckily, it's not all bad considering I'm now engaged to the man of my, well not dreams per se (he's not Percy Jackson), but he definitely is my person.

Anyways. Do you guys think I should continue this story, or should I wrap it up in neat little bow with my next chapter?
