I'm so sorry for the long delay in getting this next chapter up and posted. I can't believe it's been so many years since I have wrote here. Finally I have rediscovered my writing muse and passion enough to be able to work on this next chapter and come up with ideas. I'm hoping now that my work life is on track and balance I can find the time to provide regular updates once again. Thank you so much for all the reviews, I may start rewriting the two stories so that I can correct errors, having reread them so that I could get my muse back I was horrified at how dreadful some of my writing was back then!

Chapter 38

Thankfully for all of them Fred was released a few days later, time to return home though much to Molly's horror that they would be returning to the apartment and not the Burrow, she had been clucking constantly and insisted on mothering Fred constantly, not that you could blame her. The twins and their fiancées along with baby Teddy made their way down Diagon Alley for the first time in just over eight months. Not even sure of what to expect they knew that it would surely take a lot of work to rebuild, expecting their business and home to be destroyed.

Curling into George's side, Jackie lay her head on his shoulder pulling Teddy a little closer to her as they came to a stop outside the store. With one simple squeeze of his hand, she offered her support as they took in the site. Sure it may be her home, but it was the twin's life, they had worked so hard on Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes.

"We can rebuild it all George, you and Fred are the best at what you do, no one can even come close". Jackie meant every word as she carefully stood on tiptoes to kiss his cheek. The twins remained strangely silent as they stood taking in the damage that the past eight months had caused.

"Let's go inside". It wasn't the twins but Jessica's voice that Jackie had heard startling her from her thoughts. Stepping forward she followed Jessica and Fred, George following behind her and closing the door to the Alley.

The shop was a mess but the twins were thankful that they had barely left any stock on the shelves to be stolen or damaged. Whipping out their wands, the twins moved objects so that they could safely make their way through the store and up to the apartment.

"Well Fred this is going to be a lot of sleepless nights". George finally spoke.

"You're telling me Georgie". Fred rather downbeat looked at the broken stairwells of the store.

As they made it upstairs they didn't fare much better in what they found either. The apartment was a mess, furniture burned and broken lay in piles of rubble on the floors of the apartment. Walking further into the room Jackie approached what had been of the fireplace, carefully bending down and retrieving a picture of her, Fred, George and Jessica that had been taken on her engagement party to George. It was hard to believe that had happened last year, the toll of the past year having seen like a lifetime. It wasn't long before she felt George's palm brush against the soft skin of her shoulder.

"Maybe we can plan that wedding now". As George spoke, Jackie glanced down at Teddy in her arms.

"I'll even have a pageboy". She smiled softly at her little brother who started to wake up.

"Even though he may need holding throughout the ceremony". George chuckled and started to pull faces down at the young child. Teddy started to giggle back at George and for the first time in a while Jackie managed to smile as well as she looked at the innocent child in her arms. Although she still felt sorrow, she also felt hope and love. The war was over now, Voldemort and Bellatrix both dead and any remaining death eaters being rounded up by the Auror's and sent to the prison.

It wasn't a surprise when not only Molly but the entire Weasley family, Harry and Hermione had arrived a while later. Molly of course determined to fuss over Fred and Jackie, while making sure that the house was liveable for them, though Jackie was certain that she would spend quite a lot of the time trying to convince them to return to the Burrow. Laying Teddy down in his crib that they had placed in hers and George's room, Jackie watched the sleeping baby for a moment before making her way back out to the others. Noticing Molly in the kitchen, Jackie made her way over to her future mother in law a small smile on her face as she tried to remain strong.

"How's everything at the Burrow Molly?" She really hoped that nothing had been damaged to much, though she did expect it to be in the same state of disrepair as the apartment after all they'd been spotted by Death Eaters that night they had to flee.

"Lots of damage dear but nothing that a bit of magic and hard work couldn't fix". Molly turned to Jackie and hugged her tightly, Jackie sincerely appreciated the gesture, Molly already was like a second mother to her, an at the moment she most certainly needed the elder figures in her life to continue to guide and support her. "How are you holding up dear?"

"I'm getting there, being as strong as I am for Teddy". Jackie smiled.

"You've been doing a wonderful job taking care of him Jackie, make sure you still take time to take care of yourself". Molly placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You will make a great mother one day Jackie, and you'll no longer have to worry about Bellatrix Lestrange or anyone destroying the family".

"Thank you Molly". For the first time in a long time Jackie knew that the hope that she felt in her heart was true, that although they still had things to worry about, the true evil in the world had disappeared.

Later that evening Jackie was in the bedroom feeding Teddy when George walked in, having been working on the shop all day and into the evening. Jackie smiled faintly as she glanced his way. "Hey how's it coming along".

"Looking as good as new daisy, should be open next week we hope, it's mainly going to be replenishing stock that will take time". George grinned as he climbed into the bed and wrapped his arm around his fiancee, to be honest the idea of creating their joke products and items made him incredibly happy. The idea of getting back to normal with not a fear in the world. The only thing that George was worried about was Jackie..terrified that she would fall into the same depressive state that she had when Sirius had died. "How are you doing daisy? Did you have a think about that job offer from Kingsley". He pressed a light kiss to her head.

"Getting by each day at a time". She smiled faintly glancing at him as Teddy drank from the bottle. George reached out for him and Jackie handed her brother over for George to hold. "Thanks". She held out a finger for Teddy to latch onto as George fed him. "I'm going to take it".

"You'll be perfect for it Jacks". He grinned pulling her a little closer. "They'd be so proud of you Jackie". An he meant every word.
