Chapter 38: A Terrible Quidditch Game

Pro. Dumbledore had called the girls into his office after what happened with Sirius Black he needed to talk to them about Harry protection.

"I fear that next time he strikes it might be in the middle of the night." Said Pro. Dumbledore.

"What do you think we should do?" asked Mami.

"I believe that you should keep watch during the night." Said Pro. Dumbledore, "Just in case he returns."

"Wait so we're just going to give up sleep?" asked Ino.

"No…" said Pro. Dumbledore, "There is a way for you do both… but you're going to have to inform Ms. Granger about your stake outs…"

"I'll tell her." Said Erza.

"You know something don't you?" asked Haruna.

"I do." said Erza.

Erza told Hermoine what was going on, and Hermoine understood what needed to be done.

They have to use the Time Turner.

Due to the fact that Hermoine took all of the class she was given a time turner. Erza was allowed to use it due to the fact she also had a conflicting class as well.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" asked Hermoine.

"It was Pro. Dumbledore's." said Erza.

"Are you sure you're not going to get sleep deprived?" asked Hermoine.

"I'm sure." Said Erza.

And so it was the first night of the night watch… Haruna had bought her own invisibility cloak so she, Robin and Shampoo could sit in wait for Sirius Black.

Ino and Momo would wait by the ceiling as both of them had those means.

While Mami and Erza waited in the comfort of the common room.

"You know what I think is going to happen… that it won't happen for months…" said Haruna quietly.

"It is entirely possible." Said Robin.

"Or this could all be for nothing and we have to stay here for the rest of the year because nothing happened." Said Shampoo.

"That would be even worse…" muttered Haruna.

"We can hear you…" they heard Ino say.

Both Haruna and Shampoo sighed.

This was going to be a rough few months.

However with Harry he heard what was going however thanks to Oliver's obsession, he was forced on winning the upcoming game with Slytherin... it didn't help that Pro. McGonagall wanted to make sure Harry was safe when it came to training. Though she did end up relenting.

And that wasn't the only problem they were having.

Pro. Lupin was sick so Pro. Snape had to fill in for him. And Pro. Snape decided to amok them turn to the pages on werewolves (even though they weren't anywhere close to the subject).

"Now can any of you tell me what is the difference between a normal wolf and werewolf?" asked Pro. Snape.

Hermoine raised her hand.

"Anyone?" asked Pro. Snape.

"We told you!" said Parvati, "We haven't gotten that far!"

"Silence!" called out Pro. Snape, "I never thought I would see a class of third years not knowing how to recognize a werewolf. I will have to tell Pro. Dumbledore how far behind you all are…"

The class looked at Harry. Harry sighed, knowing he would have to do his job.

"Pro. Snape, it isn't your place to determine this. It is your job to fill in on Pro. Lupin's teachings, isn't it?" asked Harry.

Pro. Snape scowled. "It is." He muttered.

"We can always have someone else substitute for Pro. Lupin, remember that." Said Harry.

Pro. Snape gritted his teeth, he knew he couldn't argue with Harry. He was after all owner of most of the school.

"Where are you at again…" muttered Pro. Snape.

"Hinkypunk." Said Mami.

"Ah yes…" muttered Pro. Snape.

At the end of class Pro. Snape tried to correct all of the students work that Pro. Lupin gave them.

During this time things got… weird between Pro. Snape and Mami.

"A kappa is more commonly found in Mongolia." Said Pro. Snape.

"Actually you're wrong." Said Mami, "Kappa are native to Japan."

"Oh really now?" asked Pro. Snape, "5 Points from Gryffindor."

"But it's true, the word kappa means water child in Japanese, in fact there is a type of sushi called a kappamaki which is made with cucumber, which I need to remind you is one of the kappa's favorite foods." Said Mami.

Pro. Snape was flabbergasted. He hadn't expected a third year to know that stuff… well a third year that wasn't of Japanese decent, but there weren't any in Gryffindor in that year…

He decided to criticize other things about their work.

Hermoine decided to ask Mami where she learned that stuff.

"Well I've always been interested in Japanese culture." Said Mami blushing a little, not revealing the truth about her past life of course.

"I see…" said Hermoine, "I take it Mami is the Japanese naming then…"

"Yeah…" said Mami surprised.

"I figured, since Haruna, Ino and Momo wee all Japanese names…" said Hermoine.

"When did you find out?" asked Mami.

"A couple layers ago, but I didn't know when the bring it up." Said Hermoine.

"I see." Said Mami.

"I still don't get why you call Lily "Boar"." Said Hermoine.

"She's the one who came up with the nickname." Said Mami.

Hermoine laughed a little…

Mami however sighed hoping it wouldn't bring up problems later.

The next day, it was storming outside. Momo and Ino headed opt breakfast hearing the rain and thunder.

"I wonder if the weather will clear up." Said Momo.

"I don't know…" said Ino who looked so tired.

She hadn't adjusted to the 32-hour day yet, even if had been days since they started it.

Haruna hadn't either and was falling asleep at the table.

The other had managed to either get used to quickly or in Shampoo's case only now recover.

Meanwhile Harry was nervous.

"Harry, I have an idea before the game place a impervius charm on your glasses before the game." Said Robin approaching him.

"Oh that's a great idea." Said Harry.

"Harry! If you want to cheer up we have a banner we want to show you." Said Adrian.

"What?" asked Harry.

The Slytherin Outcasts unveiled their banner.

"Go Gryffindor! Because this is a school and education should come before sports!"

Harry stared at the banner, he had heard about Snape allowing Flint to remain captain…

"Couldn't you come up with something else." Said Ron looking at it.

"We couldn't come up with a better one." Said Shampoo.

"I was the one who came up with the wording." Said Tori.

"I know right! Slytherin is so bad." Said Sophie.

"Pro. Snape should have made someone else captain." Said Daphne.

Harry sighed, knowing those were just buttering him up. But he didn't mind.

"Thanks." Said Harry.

At the Ravenclaw table everyone began to freak out.

"Oh no Mandy is drowning in her porridge!" yelled Padma.

Everyone turned to see Robin getting Manga out of the oatmeal.

"We'll going to have figure something out." Erza whispered opt Mami.

Mami nodded in agreement.

Soon enough it was time for the game. The storm was rough, every now and then there was a flash of lighting.

"Who's idea was it play the game in this weather." Said Daphne as she and Sophie were in the Gryffindor section.

"I heard that Malfoy tired to get in trouble but it didn't work." Said Ron.

"It might just be a rumor though..." said Erza.

The rumor was that Malfoy launched several dung bombs as a teacher…

Said rumor was true… unfortunately said teacher was Pro. McGonagall who saw through his scam and gave him detention after the game.

Thanks to the wind and the rain Harry had to pay attention to finding the snitch. He knew that it wouldn't' be like the year before and Draco would take thing seriously.

That was when he sported the snitch, Draco saw it two and it was a race for the snitch.

That was when there was a cold feeling. He knew he had to save her.

Then he passed out and fell off his broom.

He wasn't the only one.

"Not again!" yelled Momo.

Harry wasn't the only who passed out, Mami, Erza and Robin did as well.

The other students were fighting off their dread as the Dementors swarmed the stadium.

Draco was about to grab the Snitch, thankfully karma had it in for him as Harry fell on top of him before he could grab it.

Both of them fell hard onto the ground with a sickening crunch.

"Get off me Potter!" yelled Draco, it didn't help he couldn't fell one of his legs.

Draco saw the face on Harry, it was empty, sure he had passed out, but this wasn't a swoon… this was something not normal.

Draco saw as Pro. Dumbledore came over looking absolutely furious. He had never seen that face on the headmaster. He just the man was an old fool. But here he saw a different side to him.

Pro. Dumbledore made sure that Harry was off him. He conjured stretchers for both boys and then shot out a silvery bird from his wand that drove away the Dementors.

Draco was shaking, it was just the pain he felt, everything about what just happened, Harry's empty face, Dumbledore's fury… he was hoping this was all just a dream.

The game was quickly called out off and the stadium was evacuated. Harry, Erza, Mami, Robin and Draco were taken to the medical wing.

The girls woke up before Harry.

"What happened?" asked Robin.

The group they watched the game with were all there along with the Gryffindor Quidditch Team.

Dementors swarmed the stadium." Sid Hermoine.

"Dumbledore's very angry." Said Hermoine.

"I've never seen him that angry…" said Momo, "He was absolutely furious…"

"On the bright side you get to hear this…" said Haruna.

"Hear what?" asked Mami.

"Now Mr. Malfoy I want you to drink all of it." Said Madame Pomfrey in the next bed over.

They heard Malfoy gagging on something, relaxing it must have been a potion.

"Malfoy not only broke his is leg, but in a way it better to vanish the bones fix them." Said Adrian with a smirk.

As it turned out Harry awoke at that point.

"What happened?" asked Harry.

After telling them what happened with the game, and thanks to fact that since Malfoy was below him when he fell, the game was called off.

"So did anyone get my broom?" asked Harry.

The rather large group was quiet.

Unfortunately both broomsticks were blown away in the winds and were destroyed the by the wimping willow so utterly that they couldn't be repaired.

"Great! I'm sure Malfoy will get his dad to buy him a new broom." Said Shampoo.

"Don't worry, I'm sure it will be fine." Said Haruna with a wink the others.

"Why did you wink?" asked Luna.

"No… reason." said Haruna shifting her eyes.

Harry just blinked hoping whatever Haruna had planned wouldn't' be that bad.

He really hoped that it didn't involve stealing whatever new broom Draco got. Possibly involving one of her creations.

Madame Pomfrey showed up and gave them all chocolate, since they did need it. And got Harry's group was well-wishers to leave.

She also made sure the girls would stay the night for observation, she would let Harry leave and Draco was in now condition to leave his bed.

Of course none of them were comfortable sleeping the same room together that night so none of them got any sleep.

Draco just looked at the celling in silence

"Wow cousin, I never thought you would be quiet in this situation." He heard Robin say.

Draco turned to her as it turned out she was in the bed next to him.

"Shut it Turpin." Said Draco.

"Did you really think that Pro. Dumbledore would be a doddering old fool when dealing with something he doesn't want in the school." Said Robin.

Draco was silent.

"Are you really trying to engage him?" asked Erza.

"He was conscious during everything…" said Robin.

"I thought Potter was just a wuss." Admitted Draco.

"I know…" muttered Harry, "You talked about that many times…"

"What do those things do you?" asked Draco.

"I don't want talk about it..." said Harry.

"You don't want to know…" said Erza.

"I don't even know myself…" said Mami.

"Maybe we all should get some sleep…" said Robin.

"You're the one who started this conversation." Muttered Draco which just made Robin laugh a little.

"Were you just messing with him?" asked Erza.

"You have to stop hanging out with Haruna." Said Mami.

This only made Robin laugh a little more.

The three girls and Harry decided to try to fall asleep, but Draco couldn't. For one thing he was regrown his bones in his leg and that would keep him up.

For the other was both Harry and Pro. Dumbledore's faces were etched in his mind. This was the begging of a change of outlook… well only a little… just a wee bit…possibly a millimeter of growth… it wouldn't be much… but it was a start though…

Next Time: Pro. Lupin offers Harry to learn a spell to ward of Dementors, knowing there Erza, Robin and Mami are in the same boat and asks if they could join. Meanwhile there's another trip to Hogsmeade,. will something happen on this trip? Find out next time!
