"Ah my little spark," Megatron scooped her into his arms. "I take it your first time in the rec room for energon went well."
"Of course," Moon smiled. "I had Jazz, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker with me. I even met another mech there."
"Did you just?" Megatron asked quietly. "And who was this mech?"
"Hot Rod," she gave a slightly dreamy smile. "He's really quite sweet."
"Hot Rod, hmm," an optic ridge raised and he looked at Jazz.
"She did somethin' on 'er own," Jazz shrugged with a grin. "I was close by, nothin' woulda happened to 'er."
"I did something on my own," Moon agreed with Jazz. "Nothing happened. Well, I felt a little tension between Hot Rod and Sideswipe when he came to get me, but nothing happened. So what did you need to see me about?"
"Does there have to be a reason apart from me wanting to see you?" Megatron asked amused.
"You have been quite busy," Moon said as she took a seat on the couch.
"Many things have to be seen to," Megatron agreed as he sat beside her. "But I wanted to see my little spark most of all." He nuzzled her. "There is something I wanted to discuss with you."
"I knew it," she grinned and poked him in the chest making him laugh.
"What would you like your function to be?" Megatron asked.
"Function?" Moon asked, confused.
"What job would you like to have," Megatron smiled. "You won't start anything until you are in your adult frame, but I thought you might want to start thinking over what you can do. I have some data pads on various occupations that I would like for you to go over."
"But reading is boring," Moon groaned.
"It aint so bad," Jazz laughed from near the door.
"Yes it is," Moon groaned again, sliding off the couch and was scooped up to be placed back on it.
"Earth's leaders have agreed for us to stay while we rebuild," Megatron continued, grinning sharp denta at Moon. "In return for medicines and more economical friendly power sources. A fair trade. Any humans will be leaving the base, there is no real need for them here now that the war is over. A few can stay if they so desire but really, there is no need. Less worry on where you place your pedes my little spark."
"I'm not so little," Moon pouted, crossing her arms and letting out a sharp vent.
"You are," Megatron placed a servo on her helm, "to me you always will be."
"So is this what has kept you so busy?" Moon asked. "Getting people out of here and finding out ways to make me bored?"
"No," Megatron chuckled. "There is a lot of other things around here that I do. Now enough of work, let us just enjoy each others company. How have your brother's been treating you?"
They spoke late into the evening and into the night until her helm starting dropping. She was placed gently on her berth, Megatron resting his servo endearingly on her cheek as he went to his own berth for the night. Jazz took the berth on the other side of the room as she finally gave in to her recharge protocol. It wasn't long until a memory file started playing.
She was a little five year old blonde girl with chubby cheeks, on a bike pedaling like mad as her father ran along behind her helping keep her stable, he let go and smiled as he watched the little girl continue peddling and laughed at her excitement.
"Daddy daddy!" she called out. "I can ride my bike all by myself now!"
"Good job!" he called back as she turned and raced towards him.
She slowed and began to wobble then the bike tipped over. She sat up and blinked, looking down at the cut on her knee and began to cry.
"Lets get you cleaned up," Daddy said scooping her up in one arm and grabbing the bike with the other. He took her inside and placed her on the kitchen bench, grabbing a first aid kit from a cupboard. Taking out some antiseptic and a band aid, he looked at her knee. "This might sting a little."
She braced herself, feeling a slight sting as he wiped the cut clean and put the bandage on. He stood up straight and ran a hand through his short brown hair.
"All better," he said as she looked at her knee.
"I'm a big tough girl," she smiled proudly. "I didnt cry."
"You sure are sweetie," he smiled back. "Lets go tell mommy that you rode your bike all on your own."
"Yeah yeah yeah!" she yelled as he put her on the ground with a kiss to the top of her head, then she ran upstairs to mommy.
Mommy was sitting on her brother's bed reading him a story, they both looked at her as she walked in the room. Mommy tucked a long strand of blonde hair behind her ear and smiled at her as she ran in the room and jumped on the bed. Her brother began coughing and mommy pat his back to help make him feel better.
"You no feel good Chase?" she asked softly.
"I'll be better soon," Chase croaked at her. "Did you get to ride your bike?"
"Yep!" she laughed. "I rode all by myself, and then I fell and hurt my knee."
"I'll make it better," Mommy put a kiss on her hand and placed it over my knee.
"Now it's all better," she jumped up. "Daddy, can I ride some more?"
"Not just yet sweetie," Daddy laughed.
Daddy cuddled up to her with his head over her shoulder. She was happy, safe and loved.
There was a white flash like lightning, she was twelve years old now and stood at the front door, Chase was standing in front of her with a smirk on his face.
"I'll only be gone for a few months," he told her. "When I finish basic training I'll come home for a while."
"Stay safe big brother," she whispered, pulling him into a tight hug fighting back tears. "Show them what you're made of."
Mom was crying as she pulled him into a hug, not wanting to let go. Dad was beaming with pride as he walked Chase to the car, putting his bag in the back. Chase left then and she stood by the door for a while longer, watching the car disappear around a corner. She turned back around and became a pillar for her mom while Dad was taking Chase to the airport. She knew Chase would be fine, deep down she knew he was meant for something great.
Another white flash, Chase had gotten into a special unit but was sworn to secrecy. He had arranged to have time off to take her and her friends to a school dance. He arrived in a sexy blue corvette with an equally good looking friend. She confidently walked out to the car with her friends, then she was at the school dance, dancing until she was whisked away by a young man. She spent the rest of the evening in his arms, her stomach full of butterflies, her breath hitching whenever their eyes met.
Her optics opened and she shook her helm trying to clear it.
Her tanks rumbled and she decided she would get herself some energon. She was fine yesterday and knew where to go, it should be quiet at just after four thirty in the morning. Glancing across at the other berth in her room she smiled at her brother, Bee, who was recharging soundly. Jazz must have traded places with him, it had happened before.
Opening the door and stepping slowly into the corridor, she silently transformed into her tiger form with glee. Keeping to the shadows she made her way to the rec room silently. Nudging the door open she slipped inside and thankfully found it empty. Transforming she grabbed a cube, filled it up and sat at a table in a corner. Taking a good look around the room at the empty tables and chairs, she noticed a couch that had been dragged in front of a big screen tv with a gaming console sitting on the ground in front of it. She would ask Bee if they could play it later, for now she felt it was time to return to her room.
Finishing her energon, she transformed and slipped back out the door. A few bots were now walking about and didn't notice the little tiger bot watching them from the shadows. Grinning to herself she was on the corridor to her room and seen Optimus walking along reading a data pad. She was curious about him and decided she wanted to follow him to see how long it took until he realised she was there. He walked past her and she crept after him, keeping to every shadow she could find. He went in the rec room and filled a cube then walked back out and back the way he had come. As they neared the corridor once more, he stopped for a moment and looked behind him, he smiled.
"Ya can stop followin' him now," Jazz smirked slipping out of the shadows, making her jump.
"How did you know?" she groaned as he laughed.
"I am tha master of stealth," Jazz said proudly as he scooped her up into his arms. "I tell ya what. Since ya wantin to try creepin about, I'll give ya some lessons an teach ya good n proper."
"Really?" Moonshadow asked.
"Yep," Jazz confirmed. "I think it would help build ya confidence even more."
She looked up at Optimus who was patiently waiting for them to finish their little conversation.
"Good morning Moonshadow," Optimus smiled.
"Good morning Optimus," she said shyly. "Sorry I was following you."
"It's quite alright little one," Optimus knelt slowly to be more at her level. "I am sure I am quite boring to follow around."
"A little," she agreed with a side grin.
"Why are you not recharging?" Optimus asked curiously. "It is still quite early."
She looked up at the great blue and red bot, head tilting to the side deciding if she could trust him or not. She glanced at Jazz who was watching her equally as curiously.
"I had some memory files," she said quietly. "From when I was a human."
She didn't miss the quick glance between Optimus and Jazz and the sudden gentle probing of Jazz through their bond.
"I see," optimus said quietly. "Were they good ones or bad?"
"Good," she said with a little frown. "It was little flashes, my family, Chase leaving, and a dance. Was I happy, carefree and confident when I came here?"
A sudden scene flashed through of a blonde girl rocking back and forth in a car, before she could properly see it, it was gone.
There was another glance between Optimus and Jazz, then her father appeared from his room and moved quickly towards them.
"Whats going on?" he asked as he gently took Moonshadow in a servo, cuddling up to her.
"Moonshadow was just tellin' us bout some memory files she had while rechargin', Jazz said.
"Memory files?" a shadow, almost guarded looked passed over her fathers face, as well as a small burst of alarm.
"From when I was human," Moonshadow said softly. "My family, Chase, a school dance."
"Ah," Megatron let out a vent and gave a small smile. "Nothing to worry about then."
"Megatron," Optimus said in a soft commanding voice. "I would like to speak with you in my office. Moonshadow, it has been a pleasure to see you once more."
Optimus started off down the corridor, slowly his steps as he waited for Megatron to follow.
"I'll see you in a little while, my little spark," Megatron said nuzzling his daughter before handing her to Jazz. "Be good now."
She jumped from Jazz and sat down elegantly, blinking her lavender optics up at him while waiting to see what they were going to do.
Megatron followed Optimus into his office and huffed into a seat.
"She is regaining her memories," Optimus said after a few minutes. "I think it would be best if you told her the truth with everything that had happened."
"I can't," Megatron sighed. "Everything that happened was my doing. I want to protect her from that harsh past as much as I possibly can, and if that means I don't tell her-"
"But you must," Optimus cut in. "If you truly care for her, you must tell her the truth. It will only cause more pain later on if the one bot she knows she can count on, you, couldn't be honest with her. She will have to see them, relive them... "
"When the time comes," Megatron looked up with fierce determination in his optics. "I will tell her everything. I will be there with her to make it as soft as a blow as possible."
Took me a little while to get this chap up. My niece deleted everything I had typed up, I left my laptop open and on when my brother got here. Then she scribbled all over my notes, ripped out a few pages from my notebook and from some colouring books. We call her a destructacon.
Had to go over a few points with my Beta, Casper, so I know what direction this is taking thanks to his help. And there should now be a chapter a week.
Robots in disguise. Personally, I want more! Its shown twice now and started early feb here in aussieland. I want more eps!
Thank you to all of my readers, favs, follows, reviews.
