Plight of Persephone
Remake News
Hey guys, just here to share some very exciting news and, I know, I know, super lame of me to tack it onto the end of this story but I was just so excited that I didn't know how else to share it.. The rewrite of Plight of Persephone is underway! Being that this year marks the 10 year anniversary of the original Plight of Persephone story (Sept 9 2009 or just 999 as I remember it) I feel that this is the right time to announce the news. In true Disney fashion the remake's title will be Plight of Persephone (2019) and I will be following Disney's pattern for their remakes by keeping the original feel of the story but altering the story so that it has a fresh new feel.
I can already feel some of you are nervous!
The first chapter is underway and I am having to reread my story to remember the plot. The story itself will be going in a much darker direction than the original. I am well aware how awful Disney remakes are but it seemed right to use how they are retelling their stories to realistically bring this story back into the modern day... And honestly, I HATE THE ORIGINAL... That my surprise some of you but I really despise the story despite the fact that so many love it.. and I apologise. I wrote this story when I was coming out of a failed engagement and when I read it back all I see is my own bitterness and longing for emotional stability. I don't hate the rest of the "franchise" because I had pulled myself together for the sequel and by that time Persephone had come together in my head and I was ready to explore new characters.
What To Expect
A character revamp for Persephone: This needs to happen. Persephone's character wasn't properly established until somewhere near the end of Plight of Persephone. Reading it back, she is all over the place but that is because I was too. While her character won't stray too far from her current one I feel I know her much better now than I did then and that is important for this story.
A more solid plot surrounding Hades: This may surprise you but for the first couple of chapters Hades did nothing. Bubkis. And it was boring. In fact the mean old Lord of the Dead will be completely absent from the first chapter for reasons that I cannot say for now. When Plight of Persephone came out everyone else was writing about how Hades got out of the Vortex of Phlegethon (Vortex of Fire) at the end of Hercules. So I didn't because I wanted to be different. This time, I will be addressing it's nobody writes about it now. Also it will be exploring the Underworld in his absence and the effect his lack of presence has had.. Something that is rarely seen here. The plot will be darker and not start of cute and fluffy like the original.
Hercules cameos: Don't worry, your favourite hero will still be cameoing in and out of the story with the rest of her crew. Though his plot may be somewhat altered here and there you can guarantee his cameos and the Easter egg of details and film quotes are still relevant to the upcoming story..
I hope to see some of you when the chapter drops, feel free to leave a favourite and drop me a review with anything you wish to see or plot holes you feel need to be addressed. And as always,
Stay tuned.
