It was April 22nd, 2019. Also known as Earth Day. Zim, Gir, Minimoose, and Skoodge were asleep.
Dib ran in. "ZIM!" he screamed. Dib's screaming woke Skoodge up.
"Are you serious?" he asked.
"Zim! Wake up!"
Zim woke up and yawned. "Yeah?"
"Today's Earth Day!" Dib yelled.
Skoodge stared at Dib. "Are you kidding me!? You wake him up for that!? You've got serious issues Dib."
"Don't start with me Skoodge. We have to get to skool."
"Okay." Zim said and he got up from the couch, still half asleep. Minimoose squeaked.
Five minutes later, Zim, Dib, Gaz, and Skoodge were walking to skool.
"Dad says you're crazy." Gaz said.
"I know, but I want him to believe me." Dib said.
Zim had an idea. "So expose me."
Dib looked at Zim. "No Zim! I'm not going to expose you. If anything, I'll expose Skoodge." Dib explained.
"Hey!" Skoodge yelled.
"Why are you two at each other?" Gaz asked.
"Skoodge has a crush on Tak!" Dib explained.
"You two are still on that?"
"Yes! It's almost May! I have to warn the skool!"
They walked into the skool, once they were in, Skoodge yelled something. "Hello normal humans!"
Dib ran up to the stage. "Attention everyone, I have to tell you something! There are aliens! Earth is in danger and it's up to us to save the world!"
Ms. Bitters went over. "DIB! Not this again! Everyone, get to class!" she yelled.
Zim and Skoodge walked in. Skoodge sat down in his desk. "I swear Zim, Dib is weird."
Zim sat in his desk and didn't say anything. Ms. Bitters looked around and she didn't see Dib. "Where's Dib?" she asked.
"Hanging out with Tak?" Skoodge asked.
"That's you." Zim explained.
"Oh yeah."
"And I'm right here." Tak called out. Skoodge looked at Tak. "Hey Tak." he said and smiled at her. Tak rolled her eyes.
"Oh I get it. Trying to be cool."
Zim looked at Skoodge. "Um Skoodge, I think it's something different. She might not be into you." Zim explained.
"You're funny Zim."
"Where is Dib!?" Ms. Bitters asked impatiently.
Then an announcement went on. Dib cleared his throat. "Okay. Attention faculty and students, I have very important news."
"Oh no."
"Is that Dib?" Zim asked.
Skoodge looked at Tak and sighed in relief. "I don't know."
"Today is Earth day and the world is at risk. There is an alien race known as the Irkens. The two leaders of that empire are called the Almighty Tallest, and they're coming to Earth in two months! It's up to us to stop them! Please meet me in the cafeteria if you are interested. Thank you."
Ms. Bitters sighed. Five minutes later, Dib walked in and sat next to Zim. "Hey? So? How was that?" he asked.
"That was terrible." Ms. Bitters answered.
Skoodge was still distracted by Tak. He sighed. "Tak."
Zim and Dib stared at Skoodge. "Quit flirting with Tak and help me spread the news about the irken invasion." Dib said.
"How?" Zim asked.
"With these." Dib showed Zim a flyer.
"Save The Earth From The Irken Empire."
"What do you think?"
"It looks good, but will this work?" Zim asked.
"I hope so."
"Oh stop wasting your time! This plan to stop this Irken Empire thing won't work!" Tak yelled.
"You don't believe this will work and you want us to stop because you're actually an irken!" Dib yelled.
"So is Zim and Skoodge."
"Zim's against irkens like you."
"What about Skoodge?"
"He's also against them, I think."
"Stop talking! Okay, today is Earth Day. Can anyone tell me what we do on Earth Day?" Ms. Bitters asked.
Dib quickly raised his hand.
"Yes Dib?"
"We warn everyone about Operation Impending Doom II coming to Earth." Dib explained.
"No Dib." Ms. Bitters said. Then Zita raised her hand. "Yes Zita?"
"We help the Earth by reducing plastic to protect the environment." Zita said.
"Excellent Zita. Now I'm going to give you an assignment. You all have to show me how you are going to protect the environment and help the Earth."
Then the bell rang. "Go!" Ms. Bitters yelled.
In the hallway, Zim and Dib were walking together. "So we need to show Ms. Bitters how we help the environment. I can teach Skoodge how to protect the Earth." Zim explained.
Dib was distracted. "Yeah that's nice Zim."
"What's your idea?"
"I told you my idea Zim."
"But she wants us to protect the environment, not prevent the Irken Empire."
"Trust me Zim. This will work."
"Okay."
At the cafeteria, Zim and Skoodge sat by Gaz. Gaz ignored them.
"Hey, where's Dib?" Skoodge asked.
"He's trying to tell everyone about the Irken Empire." Zim explained.
Skoodge stood up and growled. "Oh I should have known!"
"What are you talking about?" Zim asked.
"Dib! He's trying to expose us!"
"That's not true. He said that he won't expose me."
"Well he likes you. You're his best friend! Tak and I are the problem! Tak's his enemy and he doesn't trust me. Sure I like Tak, but I can't help it. She's so pretty." Skoodge said.
"She might be pretty on the outside, but inside, she's horrible." Zim explained.
"You and Dib don't understand. I'm going to walk over to her right now and tell her how I feel about her. Then you'll see who's right and wrong!" Skoodge walked away.
Dib walked in with a sign.
"Here we go." Zim got up and walked over to Dib.
Dib put the sign down.
"Dib." Zim said.
"Hey Zim." Dib took out the flyers. "Save the Earth! The world depends on you!" Dib yelled.
"You're crazy." Zita mumbled.
"I'm not! I'm trying to save mankind!"
Ms. Bitters went over. "DIB!" she yelled.
"Why am I the one who always gets punished?" Dib asked.
"What are you doing?" Ms. Bitters asked.
"Saving mankind?"
"Clean this up. This is not what we do on Earth Day." Ms. Bitters explained.
"Yes Ms. Bitters." Dib cleaned up. Then he and Zim sat down by Gaz. "Hey, where's Skoodge?" Dib asked.
"He was trying to tell Tak how he feels." Zim explained.
Skoodge walked over and sighed. He was sad about something.
"Well?" Zim asked.
"You were right. She doesn't feel the same." Skoodge said.
Dib laughed.
"You think this is funny? I really lied her. Oh well. Dib, you don't have to worry about me being with her anymore."
Dib smiled. "Wait, are you serious? You're not just going to betray us?"
Skoodge shook his head.
"Are you okay?" Zim asked.
Skoodge sighed. "I have a confession to make. You two will hate this. Here it goes." Skoodge inhaled. "I only pretended to be mind controlled to hang out with Tak."
Dib slammed his hands on the table. "What!?" he asked.
"You're kidding." Zim said. Skoodge shook his head.
"Skoodge! How could you!? That's it! I can't have you on the same side as us!"
"I'm sorry. I moved on from Tak." Skoodge sat close to Gaz. "Now I like Gaz."
Gaz stared at Skoodge and opened her eyes. "Don't even start with me! I know Tak doesn't like you, but do you think I will like you!? Not a chance!" she yelled.
"Great. Now you're flirting with my sister!? Skoodge!" Dib yelled.
"What? I like her." Skoodge said.
"That's what you said with Tak!" Dib yelled.
"Is this what male aliens do? Flirt with humans?" Gaz asked.
Dib stood up on the stage. "Attention. If you see a male or female alien being social to someone who doesn't care, come to the stage. Then we can stop them! And remember, planet Earth depends on you!" Dib yelled.
Skoodge looked at Gaz. Gaz, tired of being looked up, got up and left.
"We've got to keep an eye on him." Dib said to Zim.
"Okay." Zim said.
At three pm, Ms. Bitters, and the Membrane family were talking.
"So my son was crazy with aliens again?" Professor Membrane asked.
"Yes. He even went on the loudspeaker. He kept talking about this Irken Empire thing." Ms. Bitters explained.
"Ugh." Gaz said as she played her game.
"Son?" Professor Membrane asked.
"Dad, I know what you're going to say, but…"
"I want no more of this paranormal irken stuff."
"Yes Dad."
