To say he was nervous would've been an understatement. Staring at himself in the mirror he readjusted his tie for what felt like, and was, the umpteenth time that day. It wasn't even five yet, meaning that he had 2 whole hours to stress over the fact that he hadn't attended a Flower Festival in years.
He squinted, it had been before he left the island. Had it been as a child? Or as a teenager with Luna? He remembered attending some event with her due to her incessant badgering but he couldn't recall which event he'd attended with her.
I may or may not have exploited HM:AP's Flower Festival for this one-shot jk I unabashedly did. Don't worry this mini plot will be continued in a future one-shot. But I do feel like it's worth mentioning again that I head-canon that Gill was close to Luna & Luke when they were younger before his mother died. And then his dad went sort of crazy so he had to be the level-headed of the two way ahead of his time so even if Luna wasn't overly naggy necessarily it was in his mind because he had tunnel vision when it came to fixing the island. But yeah, Luna did ask him and they went together but he was most definitely emo about it because "nothing really matters", "the island is dying"- that's nice Gill I just want to enjoy the flowers with you but NO we can never seem to do that with your- okay apparently I'm writing a mini one-shot down here and that gives me an idea so you'll just have to wait I suppose.
