CHAPTER 36
...Cold Snow...
Gray look at his girlfriend in puzzled. 'What? Did i hear her right?' The phrase that form in his mind.
" Lucy! I just want to invite you in our home if your free. But then your maid told me that you're not feeling well. Are you ok? i'm so worried when i can't contact you." Gray said.
Lucy didn't answer quickly, she don't want to talk actually.
"Yeah! I'm not fine. So please, I want to rest." Lucy tried to leave first but Gray stopped her.
"Wait! Your phone at least, uhm! i mean can we chat?"
"No I'm sorry." Lucy's mind that night was like a hard metal, nothing can break it.
"Lucy what's the matter." Gray's voice became high. He can't control his self anymore. The feeling of anxiety strike him right in his temper.
Lucy gave her maids a commanding stare which means ' leave us alone.' The maids did what she want. When Gray found out that the maids were gone he begin to stepped his feet towards Lucy.
"Lucy, whatever is it in your mind, you can tell me all. Is it because of your father?" Tears begin to form in Lucy's eyes when she heard the word father. Yes! His one of the reason why she's lonely but the biggest part of her loneliness is the one standing right in front of her.
Gray saw the tears in Lucy's eyes, without anymore thoughts he wipe it dry but Lucy turn away. Gray felt lonely and guilty for some reason he didn't know. 'Why?' the only word that repeatedly pop in his mind. Until...
"Why?" He can't figure it out, he don't know now what to think or what she's thinking.
"Please! I really don't want to see you now."
"Lucy, I don't understand, did i did something wrong? If so then sorry!"
'I hate people who didn't confess their sin. I hate this feeling. I hate this. It become bothersome and it hurts me so much. I hate people in this world, I hate love itself.' Lucy thought.
"Please, t-" Gray didn't have the opportunity to continue his words. Lucy interupted him.
" I hate you" Lucy shouted, her words come out from her mind unconsciously. But its true.
" You're a liar, Idiot, stupid, Profound." Lucy shouted from her throat.
" What did i ever do to you? Whatever it is we can still fix it. We just need to talk from the beggining of this problem. Don't be so paranoid."
" What did i ever do to you? Paranoid? hah? Get lost bastard. Go away and flirt with your raindrop." With that Lucy entered her room and slam the door shout that can be heard throughout the mansion.
Gray run quickly towards the door that Lucy slam and bang it multiple times. The word raindrop can clearly stated that its stand for Juvia. But...
"Lucy, I don't understand. There's nothing special between me and her. Lucy come on lets talk this over." Gray uttered.
On Gray's left side Capri stand quietly and watch his every movement. Gray sense Capri and gave a gazed that he can't forget. Before Capri can say something, Gray silently said.
"I will go home, don't worry." When he's about to exit the mansion Aries confront him.
" Sorry! Please be understandable. You're the first guy that ma'am Lucy love it's hard for her to control her feelings."
Gray only look at the snowy ground and said nothing. He ride over his motor and went home. The cold snow that dropped from the sky, that night he can barely felt that even a single piece of snowflakes, even for a second can froze his heart and with a light movement it will break anytime.
"Where's Lucy?" Ultear happily said when he heard their door opened. " I made a Christmas sock.. ta-da i even print her name here. Oh! Lucy look at this. Wait where did i put that o-" Ultear said unstoppable until Zeref poke her lightly. She immediately look at Gray who walk towards his room, silently.
Ul follow her son with a worrying face but before Gray can slam the door.
"Mom, Sorry!" He said and smile faintly. Ul try to approach him even more but she heard their door bell rang.
Ding... Dong..
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Bunch of children shouted in unison.
Gray closed the door in his room silently. Her mother turn back and join the children with their unforgettable Christmas. She need to be happy for them.
Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...
The whole home of fullbuster that night is filled of Christmas carol and children voices and countless chatting of everyone. Except for someones room. 'They all seem so happy' He thought.
Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...
Gray is sitting on his floor and let his back rest at the side of his bed. The louder the children can be outside his room the more silent his room can be.
Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...
Gray can loudly hear the sound of his clock, second for second. Every second feels like hours in his room now. The only light that make him see the clock is the light coming from the moon.
Gray let his head touches his knee he never imagined that for the first time Christmas can be this lonely. It's so irritating that everytime he thinks for a solution he only arrived at deep confrontation.
But how?.. 'She don't want to see me' Gray thought.
Click...
His door opened slowly and a warm "Gray onii-chan!" can be heard. Gray dried his tears from his eyes and face the child that entered his room.
"Why its so dark in here?" the kid asked.
"Wait i will turn on the light." Gray stood up and moved towards the swicth. The boy happily run towards the window when you can see the beautiful moon. Before Gray can turn on the light the boy said again.
" You know onii-chan, the world is a dark place. You can't see anything if you don't let the sun to lighten up your world. Isn't boring being blind?" Gray don't know what to say. The kid seem smart even in his young age
" Yes, it is." Gray answered and then he turned on the light. Gray's eyes became wide when he saw the kid in his room.
" It's not boring actually. Now i can clearly tell you that this room is a well lighted room. because i can sensed a faint white color beyond my eyes." The kid is a blind kid "Don't you know onii-chan that the loneliest creature ever is the sun?" the boy continued.
Gray can't believe this, that a single kid can speak something like that. "No! How can you said that?" Gray asked.
The boy smile and said " Because for the billions star in the universe, the sun is the only one who appear at day. That's why it heat up itself and provide us a different kind of weather. So that nobody can feel the loneliness it felt."
"But it can burn you. It's so hot . I think he did that for revege."
"Well who wants to play under the rain ? And how can you play at night?" For a swift moment Gray found himself so profound, about someones mind. He can't read the boy's mind.
"Don here you are. We're so worried about you." Ul said.
The child held onto Ul hand and smile happily. Ul look to Gray and whisper his name " Gray -" But before she can say anything the boy speak once again.
"It's not that you can't read others mind. It's just the way you understand it, is different from what i thought."
The child pulls Ul hands and left Gray in his room with a shock reaction.
Gray smirk lightly. Yes! He needed to change his perceptions, person by person.
