Chapter 37
Having Thad back on my side was comforting and a relief. He thought of the perfect plan for the Christmas Party.
Every Dalton student could bring a plus one. Whether it be a date or family. We were also opening this to Crawford, our sister school. We're having it in Dalton's large ballroom. Its official and everything. Thad had talked to the Dean and I had written a letter to the School board of Crawford.
But one there is one thing for arranging the official stuff, and another to actually make it a party. There are the decorations, the programs, food, and a lot of other technical stuff. And here, we called for back up.
Thad and I head a Warbler meeting. And most of them were smiling at us.
"Finally," Clark exclaimed as soon as he saw Thad and I talking. "I thought you two were never going to get along again. I was about to stuff you both in the utility closet."
"Clark, we're not a couple." Thad pointed out.
"Yeah, but I was also looking for a bit of revenge." Clark said looking at me pointedly. I raised my hands up in surrender.
"I was innocent, it was all Iris' idea."
"Yeah, and yet you were the one who stuffed me in that closet with Jonny." Clark said with a pout. "I trusted you!"
"Hey, at least you guys made up afterwards." I said then whispered to Thad. "Or else they'd still be there."
Thad chuckled under his breath.
"I heard that." Clark remarked. "Either way, what's happening?"
I did a head count then we started the meeting.
"So, as you know we are out of competition." Thad said. The Warblers sighed in relief as the guilt had been lifted off their shoulders.
"But," I added. "It doesn't mean that we are idle. The Dean wanted us to host the first ever Dalton Christmas Party."
The Warblers started to chatter excitedly.
"When is this going to be?
"Where is this taking place?"
"Are there going to be programs?"
"Can I bring my girlfriend?"
"Is this Dalton exclusive?"
"Alright guys settle down." Thad said calling everyone's attention. "It's going to be the night after the last exam for the semester, we're doing it here. This is exclusive, to Dalton and Crawford. But we have invited our friends from the New Directions."
"The thing is, this is a really big event." I said. "Decorating, the Program…"
"We'd be happy to help." Trent piped up. "Rumor has it that you've been reinstated as the captain."
"Yeah?"
"Well," Nick said. "If you are assigned as captain, that just means that teachers and administrators tell you what they want the Warblers to do. So this party isn't just hosted by you. And what kind of party throwers would we be if we let you do all the work."
"When is this going to take place again?"
"Uh." I looked at my watch for the date. "Around two weeks."
"Why did you just tell us now!" Jeff exclaimed. "Let's get started!"
~()~
I fixed another part of the ceiling decorations that just wouldn't cling properly.
"Is this good?" I called from my place at the top of the ladder.
"It's great, Bas!" Thad called back. "Now come down before you fall of that ladder."
"I'm not that heavy." I said as my feet reached the floor. I looked around. Within a week, the boys and I managed to decorate the whole ball room with pristine white cloths, a large Christmas tree, and a stage.
"Wow, great job guys." I said. "It looks like we're done for now. We'll just do some last minute touch up the day of the program."
"How are you doing with the program list?" Thad asked.
"So far, I've got three numbers from the Warblers, three from Crawford, the new directions haven't called back if they want to do a number."
"Oh, Blaine said there was going to be one sure performance from the New Directions."
"Who?"
"Blaine didn't say." Thad said. "He said it was a surprise."
"Okay?" I said. "So yeah, other than that we've pretty much got it all covered, I'll give you the music later tonight."
"Wow, this is great!" he said. "We got it all together early."
"Good thing too," I said. "We all need to study for our exams."
"Yeah, well I need to study." Thad said. "You on the other hand…"
"Hey, I still study." I pointed out. "I have to go through everything too you know."
"Yeah, an hour before the exam." Thad said. "Admit it."
"Fine." I said. "But I still study for the History test. That one is torture."
"Well, at least we know the great Barry Allen isn't the genius that we all thought of."
"I never said I was." I said smiling at all that we've accomplished. "This is going to be the best Christmas party ever."
"Don't I know it?"
~()~
The party was a huge success. Although I was forced to host the whole program. But I did enjoy it. Most of the students from Crawford and the New Directions had come, even the alumni. I found Young Barbra and Hummel talking to Blaine. Berry was wearing this strange sweater with a reindeer's nose popping out. I have to admit. That is a creative Christmas sweater. Which I am now cursing Thad for suggesting the theme.
My sweater was embarrassingly dorky but adorable. Well that's what Marley had said earlier. Joe bought it for me a few years ago. It was the year I was addicted to Harry Potter. So Joe got me a Weasley sweater imitation. It had a large bronze "B" in the middle. Clark had made it his mission to look for my clothes for the party. So I ended up wearing my sweater, a pair of antlers and my nerdy glasses.
I was talking with some of the other Warblers when a familiar Latina's voice echoed through the hall.
"Hey Twink!" Santana said into the mic. She had her eyes set on me and some of the other kids had noticed it too. "I'm here for that rematch. And this time, I'm determined to win."
She snapped her fingers and she had the two cellists on the stage.
The students all parted like the red sea as Santana came down predatorily from the stage. I removed my classes and placed the antlers on the table as I put on my smirk like an old mask. I strutted towards the bitchy Latina with confidence.
She smirked back as the instrumentalist had finished the intro of the song.
Uh, as he came into the window
It was the sound of a crescendo, uh!
He came into her apartment
He left the bloodstains on the carpet, uh!
She ran underneath the table
He could see she was unable
So she ran into the bedroom
She was struck down, It was her doom
Annie are you OK?
We started to circle around the whole ball room. Spotlights followed our moves. But we were focused on the predatory feel of the performance. I was determined to win this time.
So, Annie are you OK?
Are you OK, Annie?
Annie are you OK?
So, Annie are you OK?
Are you OK, Annie?
Annie are you OK?
So, Annie are you OK?
Are you OK, Annie?

You were struck down
It was your doom

The audience was now circled around us with chairs and tables scattered. Reminding me of the first time we had battled. We circled quickly pushing away the chairs properly.
Are you OK, Annie? Annie are you OK?
Would you tell us that you're OK
There's a sign in the window

I gave Santana a determined stare which she returned with a smug smirk. She grasps the back of one of the chairs and I rested my hands on the table.
I don't know! (Annie are you OK, will you tell us, that you're OK, there's a sign in the window)
I don't know! (That he struck you - a crescendo Annie)
I don't know! (He came into your apartment)

Everyone was clapping and cheering. And when it all died down I smirked at Santana.
"Ready to admit defeat, Sha-Queer-A"
"Not this time Fievel." She said with a smirk looking at my Christmas sweater. She took off the glasses from where it hung on my sweater. "But I have to admit. The dorky looking Sebastian is as bitchy as the one in the Blazer."
"Coming from Auntie Snixx, that might be a compliment." I said with a smirk.
"Don't count your blessings, just yet." Santana said. "We are an equally talented duo. It would take forever to get a fair judge."
"And the fact, that you are on my turf."
"Please, my hot lesbian ass would melt these prep school boys." She teased and I couldn't help raise an eyebrow as she made her dramatic exit. "Until next time, Twink."
I turned to find Thad just standing there with an awed look on his face.
"Well that was…"
"I don't know either." I said. "Come on, let's continue this party."
OOOKAY so yeah this is actually the second to the last chapter. It was starting to get a little boring. I am making a sequel series of one shots. Imma call it "Who is Barry Allen" just for consistency's sake.:P
Anyways
PLEASE TELL ME WHATCHA THINK!
