A/N: Hi. So. Wensday. Umm... I have the National Latin Exam tomorrow. It's scary, because I got a perfect score last year but that year was super duper easy and now it's going to be way harder and have ablative absolutes and infinitives and stupid irregular verbs and all that horrible stuff. Not to mention history. Anyways, this chapter is super long even though nothing actually happens! That's a lie, stuff happens.
grovyleTheGreat- I guess. It'll make her depressed though.
Melkor'sOnlyLieutenant- Almost. And I've actually finished this game and A Link Between Worlds 100%! Except the Streetpass stuff. ...It took a while
Link was uber-exited to get going to the snow realm. Which wasn't unusual, as Link loved driving his new train anywhere, but he was super psyched now that he had a cannon.
He jumped into the train. "Okay Alfonzo! We're going now! Bye!"
Zelda gasped. "Wait for me!" She jumped in the train right before Link left.
A little bit after they left, the radio on the train buzzed. Link stopped singing the catchy music and listened.
"Link, can you hear me?"
"Yup" Link responded.
"Good, my old radio communicator still works. Well, I forgot to tell you how exactly to use the cannon."
Link and Zelda froze. After a long pause, Link slowly said, "Oh yeah... Oops."
"Oops is right. To fire the cannon, first you have to relax. Firing a cannon while exited is probably a bad thing. Feelings cloud your aim. Next, you have to focus on what you want the hit..."
Link started getting really exited. "Then what?"
"They you, very smoothly, tap the targe-"
"NOPE. NO TAPPING. THERE IS NO TAPPING INVOLVED IN MY LIFE."
Alfonzo took a second to respond. "Okay... Then you press the button. Sheesh. Anyways, good luck!"
"Thanks Alfonzo!" Zelda said as he disconnected, before remembering that he couldn't hear her.
Suddenly, at the first corner, a Snururgle appeared. Link saw it, then realized a small problem.
"Ummmmm... Zelda?"
"Yeah Link? Hurry, shoot the Snuuurgle!"
"That's just it. I can't reach the cannon's trigger button from here. And I don't want to leave the engine car without a driver...,"
Zelda responded, "Oh. Didn't think of that- WAIT. I GOT AN IDEA. Link. You just be ready to pull the whistle if it doesn't work."
Link nodded, then carefully watched the Snurgle fly around the train car. Suddenly it blew up!
"YEAH!" Zelda yelled triumphantly. Link looked back to see Zelda sitting at the cannon! In response to his confused look, she yelled, "You know how I can touch objects that aren't meant for a hero to use? Well, that probably means it requires a lot of concentration to even move the throttle on the train, as it's related to the hero, but not directly. But, Alfonzo built the cannon, so I can get to it and use it!"
"That's genius, Zelda!" Link said happily.
Up until the now Un-Lost Woods, nothing super exiting happened except for another Moink blocking the road. But at the Un-Lost Woods, the Skulltulas reappeared.
Link was about to blow his whistle, but Zelda yelled, "Wait!" Link paused, and Zelda shot it easily. When it exploded, a ruppee dropped from it's dead body. Then the train sucked it up.
"Umm. Okay." Link said. "It seems the train has a vacuum device, or a hopper."
"Sweet!" Zelda said.
More Skulltulas appeared in the Un-Lost Woods, mug Zelda shot them easily. When the train left the lost woods though, a huge boulder was blocking the path!
Link saw it first. "ZELDA SHOOT THE ROCK."
"Wha- AH!" Zelda immediately shot 3 times at the Rock, which then broke just in time for the train not to hit it.
As they turned the corner, Zelda said, "Phew. That was a close one."
"...Did you see a rabbit at the corner?"
"Rabbit? No. Why?"
"Cause I could have sworn... That's the third one I've seen!"
"There's a station up ahead."
"Oh." Link stopped at the new station right before the Snow Realm.
Zelda looked around and said, "Well this is an odd place...
"No duh. The only resident is wearing a rabbit hoodie. And the rabbits have sweaters."
Zelda sighed. "Well, let's go ask Mr. Rabbit what this place is."
Link walked up to him, and started to ask, "Hello. What is thi-"
"WEEEEELLLLCOME to RabbitLand Rescue, a haven for rabbits and their furless friends! There are MILLIONS of poor rabbits without a home or human companionship. Here at RabbitLand Rescue, we save these bunnies from the harsh wilderness and provide them with much needed frolicking. Now, on my new HyPad6, I'll show you this promotional video of the bunnies suffering in the wild."
Link and Zelda watched the video. Link thought that the bunnies looked like they were living happily.
"LINK. You horrible, horrible person! How dare you think that about the poor, poor bunnies!"
Link jumped, surprised at Zelda's cry.
Mr. Rabbit took this the wrong way. "Oh, you're jumping like a rabbit already! So, do you want to frolic?"
"YES." Zelda said forcefully.
"...Sure." Link said, less forcefully.
"Let me be 120% clear. If your heart isn't fully in it, you're gonna get burned." Link stared at Mr. Rabbit, eyes wide. "Are you sure you want to frolic with the bunnies?" Link stood, mouth agape. Mr. Rabbit mistook this as a yes. "Ok, I'm convinced. If you want to join the RabbitLand family, you'll need this!"
He handed Link a net. Link looked for Zelda, but she had mysteriously disappeared.
Link looked at the net, then back to Mr. Rabbit. "A net?"
"Ah, well, you see, you need to rescue all the bunnies first..."
"With a net?"
"Yup. There's 10 bunnies per realm, for a total of 50! They hide behind rocks-"
"HA. I'M NOT CRAZY."
"You've been seeing bunnies? Good! All you have to do is stop the train, blow up the rock, then trap it in the net. The net's special, and the rabbit will be teleported to me."
"...Okay." Link knew Zelda would be mad if he said no.
"Good luck then!" Mr. Rabbit started to ignore Link, and instead pet a rabbit.
As Link was walking back to the train, Zelda flew up to him. "Hey. I got a Dark Pearl Necklace treasure, it was on the island, and I jumped from the ledge to get it."
"Cool." Link said. "But how did you read my mind earlier?"
"When?"
"When I was thinking about the bunnies."
"You didn't say that out loud?"
"...Let's switch topics. We should look for some rabbits, and stamp stations now that we're out and about." Zelda agreed with Link.
The first rabbit Link had seen, so they pulled the train to a stop right next to where the large boulder used to be. Zelda easily blew up the rock with the cannon, and Link caught it in the net. The net then began to glow, and the rabbit disappeared. They then went to the Forest Temple, where another rabbit was behind a rock. After it was caught, the two went back in the temple for the stamp station.
Walking in, Link declared, "I remember the stamp station! It's in the upper right corner of this floor!" He was right.
The pair next went back near Aboda, as Link had also seen a rabbit down at where the track curved to the west. His memory was correct again, and the third rabbit was caught.
The next stop was near Castle Town, where, near the end of the strait away from the Tower of Spirits to Castle Town, was a rabbit! Link caught that one too.
Also, the group stopped at Whittleton, for its station. Luckily, Link knew where this one was. It was in the back of the town, in the forest...for some reason.
Lastly, the group went to the Forest Sanctuary. But after getting the stamp, Zelda noticed something.
"Link, blow the cucco off the ledge." Link, looking at her weirdly, did so. "Okay, now pick it up." Link grabbed the cucco and held it above his head. "Now jump off the ledge." Link did so, and the the cucco's insane wing flapping gave Link enough lift to get the treasure on the island: 200 rupees!
"Wow. Thanks Zelda. You have a good eye for puzzles."
"Your welcome. Now, please do me another favor and hurry up to the Snow Realm! This is getting boring and unexciting! No one likes sidequests, and ones where you just drive around and gather loose ends are worse because there isn't even a storyline to them!"
Link chuckled. "Okay..."
