Summary: Percy was just a normal boy, living with his hard-working mother and abusive stepfather. Normally, Percy only spend the obligatory one weekend a month with his dad. But that had been because of Poseidon's secret. Poseidon is a merman and he tried to shield his son from the supernatural world – until it becomes apparent that Percy shares his heritage.

Percy comes to live with Poseidon and his family. Now he has to deal with being a submissive merboy in a supernatural world, making friends and even falling in love with a vampire.

The Little Merboy and the Vampire Lord

Chapter 35: The Best from Bast

Percy had to admit that he was really nervous. A council meeting. His first council meeting. Sure, he had absolutely no say in it. He wouldn't be more than a silent observer. But still, the knowledge that this was his future, essentially... This would be what he would do once he was older. Once he was an adult, a leader of his own people. And that was the thought that was so scary.

"Perseus. Lucas asked me to keep an eye on you."

"What are you doing here, Tavy?", asked Percy disturbed as the annoyed blonde stepped up to him.

"I am the senior seer in New York", grunted Octavian pointedly. "There are only a handful of seers in New York and all of them are younger than me. I have a seat on the council."

"...Right. You're a senior. You already are eighteen", grunted Percy with a frown. "Huh."

"Indeed", drawled Octavian out. "Now, come along, kitty-cat. Lest you want to be late."

Biting his lower lip, Percy followed Octavian into the meeting hall. He paused, as soon as he was through the door, gaping in stunned silence and utter awe. Octavian sighed and rolled his eyes.

"They're... This is... Wow...", whispered Percy in total awe, gaping.

"Ah. Percy, you made it", smiled Hades, amusement sparkling in his eyes.

"The... The clothes!", yelped Percy, motioning around vaguely with both hands.

"Less pointing and less gaping", sighed Octavian and rolled his eyes.

Percy blushed and stuffed his hands into his pockets. Hades chuckled and rested a hand on Percy's shoulder. The vampire was wearing a fancy old-fashioned suit with a cool frilly shirt. The way Percy always pictured a vampire to dress. On top of that, a black cloak, beautifully adored with silver embroidery. It was absolutely gorgeous. And Hades was by far not the only one. Demeter was wearing a beautiful green dress, with actual flowers growing around the collar and decorating her hair. Hecate was wearing a beautiful dark-purple dress with a hood sewn onto it, decorated with amethysts and other gems. Lupa was wearing a dress of leather and fur, definitely from prey she had hunted and slayed herself. She was loudly arguing with Horus, whose leather-robes were decorated with his own falcon-feathers. Percy smiled amazed as he looked around. He spotted who must be the leader of the storm-spirits, floaty silk of black and gray and white like clouds, electric golden jewelty holding it and looking like lightning. They all looked so amazing. There were dozens more, some he could tell by their clothes alone what kind of supernatural creature they were, with others he could not even guess. But all of them looked absolutely stunning.

"So, that why you're wearing bed-sheets, Tavy?", stated Percy, slapping Octavian's chest.

"It's called a toga", grunted Octavian offended, straightening his purple bed-sheets. "And it is what augurs traditionally wear. I am an augur. Other seers might prefer a different approach, but I adhere to the Roman ways. Stop snickering like a child, Perseus."

Percy did not stop snickering. Hades chuckled and shook his head. Though the moment was disturbed when the still arguing Lupa and Horus approached them.

"Hello, Carter's kitten", greeted Horus, looking at Percy briefly.

"Hades, this disrespectful bird-brain-", started Lupa irritated.

"Oh, please, like it was my idea", snarled Horus annoyed. "I have no say in the matter!"

"Enough!", interrupted Hades irritated. "I can't make heads or tails of what you're trying to say when you keep screaming and snarling at each other."

"What they were trying to say is that you have a special visitor today, Lord Hades."

Percy frowned. He didn't recognize the voice. There were murmurs around them and conversations quieted as they all turned to stare at the woman who had just spoken. She was beautiful. Nougat-colored skin, charcoal-dark eyes and black hair in thin braids, cascading down to the middle of her waist. Her hips were adored with a golden belt. Dark-red and white silk in a very distinctively ancient Egyptian fashion style. She had fur draped over her shoulders and her ears and tail were out, proudly showing off her cat-shifter heritage.

"You're a Bastet, like me", whispered Percy eagerly.

"No, kit", chuckled the woman kindly. "I am not a Bastet, I am Bast."

"...Oh", was all Percy could get out.

"Yeah. That", grunted Horus, vaguely motioning at Bast. "The old hag decided to come visit."

Bast glared at Horus and just threw him over her shoulder with ease. Horus huffed as he gathered himself and dusted himself off like that was a regular thing to happen between them.

"Now, before this meeting begins, I think this young man needs a fashion-upgrade. If you'll excuse us for a moment", stated Bast, not minding Horus and what had just happened.

Instead, she rested a hand on Percy's shoulder and tugged him along. Out of the room and toward what looked like an empty bedroom. Percy had never been in this mansion before, but it was similar to the di Angelos' mansion. It apparently belonged to the supernatural community?

"Undress", prompted Bast as she went over to a suitcase.

"Uhm... slightly uncomfortable with that", noted Percy awkwardly.

"Ah. Modest", observed Bast. "Here. Take those to the bathroom and get changed... as far as you manage... and I will help you with the rest."

Nodding, Percy headed to the bathroom. This was not how he had expected to meet Bast. Getting undressed, he grabbed the white skirt-thing and put it on, trying to tie the dark-blue sash around it. He felt a little naked though, with no shirt. A bit lost, he tried to wrap the second part around his shoulders, but failed completely. Giving up, he gathered it up and walked out.

"Uhm... Yeah, I give up", sighed Percy embarrassed.

"It's okay", reassured Bast with an amused smile and approached him.

She tied the second white sheet around his chest in a way that actually looked good. Then she adjusted the sash and then added the golden jewelry, as well as what looked like a deer-fur.

"Your... Nico... gave me that", noted Bast. "We do not just wear fur like humans do. We only wear what we hunted ourselves. What we ate. To show that we are great hunters and to respect those that gave their life for us. We do not just... throw away half the prey. With time, you will also gather jewelry made from what you hunted. Though as I see, you already do."

Percy growled on instinct as she attempted to touch his amulet. "That was Nico's first courting gift."

"Ah. Pardon me", nodded Bast and retreated her hand.

"Wait, Nico gave you this...?", asked Percy, backtracking some.

"Well, I asked Carter Kane, he apparently talked to Nico and got the fur for me", elaborated Bast.

"So he knew about this dress-code?", grumbled Percy, narrowing his eyes.

"Of course he did. He has gone to council meetings himself before", offered Bast confused.

"Well, he didn't tell me", replied Percy. "He probably didn't want to spoil the surprise or something. Which. Just... I'll find a way to make him regret this."

Bast smiled amused at that, tilting her head. "Can you show only your ears and tail...?"

Nodding, Percy did as requested, whipping his tail back and forth. Bast hummed pleased and placed something similar to a crown on his head, mindful of his ears. Percy shifted nervously.

"Why are you here?", asked Percy. "I mean, you... you're from Florida, right? Luke said so."

"Well, yes", confirmed Bast. "But... There are no other cat-shifters here. You are... alone with canines and birds. I wished to... meet you, to see if I can help you. And because you..."

"Because I'm a half-blood like you?", offered Percy slowly.

"...Yes", nodded Bast after a moment. "You're an immortal cat-shifter. There... There aren't many of us. Immortal shifters in general. You are not just a regular cat-shifter who will just spend one life-time here, being a leader. You... You have eternity ahead of you and I would like to... help shape what kind of leader you will become. Because immortals are... problematic."

"Ye—eah, I can see that", mused Percy thoughtfully. "An immortal leader with warped morals... sounds like not a good idea."

"Exactly", agreed Bast with the smallest smile. "That's why I want to... observe you."

"Okay", shrugged Percy and tilted his head. "So... I'll just follow you and watch you today then?"

"No. You watch everyone in that room", corrected Bast. "They have all been at this for many years, centuries in some cases. You will be able to learn a lot from them all. I just decided to come to... remind them all that cat-shifters will need representation again and that, until you are off-age, I will take responsibility for you."

"What does that mean?", asked Percy skeptically, frowning.

Bast smiled reassuringly. "I know you have joined Lupa's pack and Silena Beauregard's cove. And I am not asking you to join my pride. But there are issues that you might face that neither of them might understand and I want you to have someone to come to with those things."

"...What would be... purely cat-related problems?", wanted Percy to know doubtfully.

Bast opened her mouth and closed it again. "That'd take too long now. And the others are already waiting. How about lunch will be on me and we can talk more then?"

"Okay. Free food", nodded Percy pleased, making Bast laugh.

Smiling amused, Bast led Percy back to the conference room where everyone had already sat down. The room was round, with many rows of expensive looking chairs and desks. The meeting hall was gigantic and the steps led down to the center. It reminded him a little bit of the Colosseum or one of the rooms where political meetings took place. Which this was, actually. Somehow, that reality hadn't fully set in yet. This wasn't just for fun, this was actually serious. Each chair had plates, stating the species and the name of the representative. Bast led Percy to the desk with the plate saying Shapeshifter; Bastet. The name part was blank, because there was no current representative. The ones closest to them were all also shifters – Horus and Lupa and others Percy didn't know. Still looking around in total awe, Percy took his seat right next to Bast.

"I didn't know there were this many supernatural species in New York", whispered Percy.

"New York is a big city", chuckled Bast as she leaned back.

Percy yawned as he plopped down on a garden-chair on a balcony in the mansion. Bast smiled as she sat opposite him, between them two bowls of pasta and salads on the side. Percy turned to look out at the beautiful view. He smiled in awe at the garden in front of him.

"Council meetings are boring", stated Percy with a frown.

"It's just boring to you because you have no personal attachment to those things", chuckled Bast.

And that was probably true. It were negotiations about territory, complaints about visitors – tourists were apparently a huge problem when they did not actually file with the council beforehand. Which, something Percy had to keep in mind. If going to another city, it was important to inform the council beforehand. It was just regulations. Moving from one place to another too, of course, but so the council can know who is currently in the city's territory, to watch out for them. Because in case of any crime, it was important that the council had the records and knew that the person robbed (or worse) was a supernatural so they could pull strings to make a supernatural detective take the case. Then there had been some who talked about new arrivals to the city, negotiations between the groups. Trade negotiations had happened too. Apparently, the nymphs and nature-spirits had their own farmer's markets in different parts of town and provided there, including territories of other groups. Merpeople from the harbor-region provided fishes on said markets. Elves had butcher shops all over the city, providing meat they had hunted themselves. It was pretty cool to get an insight like that and Percy made a mental note to check out a supernatural farmer's market next weekend. Could be a nice, romantic thing to do with Nico.

"You'll learn to appreciate it", assured Bast with a smile. "And it's not always just trades and negotiations. Sometimes, there are crimes to be discussed. If something happens to a supernatural, the whole community has to be informed. We don't know what the crimes are, if it was just a coincident or an actual attack. We always have to stay on the safe side."

"So—o, what's the deal with this place?", asked Percy, looking around.

"See it as an embassy of the supernatural", offered Bast. "You come here for your ID, driver's license, you register here if you move from somewhere – every city where supernaturals live has such an embassy. It also works as a safe haven. If someone seeks shelter from... from something. Sometimes, humans are suspicious, hunt our kind. And in other cities... the different races don't live together that peacefully. There's a lot of prejudices still. Sometimes, it escalates... Sometimes our own have to flee from other supernaturals."

"How's that work?", asked Percy with a frown. "I mean... a whole city only belonging to one race?"

"Not every city houses 8 million people, Perseus", pointed Bast out. "Small towns especially... Some towns with only hundreds or a few thousand people, they... they had been owned by one race for centuries. Sometimes, some villages were very distinctively founded by a particular supernatural race, you know? A pack of wolf-shifters settling down, building houses for themselves, staking a territory. Humans move to the settlement, the settlement grows into an actual town. But at its core, it still belongs to the wolf-shifters, you see. Sometimes, they are very much against having other supernaturals invade their territory, others do accept visitors. Live side by side with the next town over that might be populated by nature-spirits."

"How come there are no other cat-shifters in... in all of New York? I mean, you just said it, eight million people. And I am... the only cat-shifter?", asked Percy softly, looking a little lost.

Bast smiled faintly and poked around in her salad. "Your grandmother was an absolutely amazing woman. She had charisma and strength. She was... filled with love and kindness. People felt drawn toward her. She had a strong pride. When she died... the pride fell apart. There was infighting for the title of Alpha. In the end, the pride did not survive the loss. Normally, most of the time, leadership is passed down through the family. That doesn't mean it's a strict monarchy. Others in the group can always challenge leadership, in a fair duel for power. But still the stability of passing it down is what provides a certain comfort. The fact that your mother was only human and not supernatural herself tipped the balance. Had your mother been a cat-shifter, the pride would have been protective over her, until she would be old enough to become the leader."

Percy sighed and nodded slowly. He guessed that made sense. When a good leader died and there was no one to fill those shoes, the whole thing kind of fell apart. Frowning, Percy stuffed his face with pasta, staring out over the lawn and watching a couple kids play ball.

"So, until I'm off-age, I... go to you if I have any issues and you come all the way here from Florida?", asked Percy doubtfully, finishing his pasta.

"If it's something decidedly cat-shifter, yes. If it's something broader, you can and should go to Lupa. I understand you're part of her pack. But sometimes, there might be something that a wolf can't handle for a cat. Sometimes... it might even be an issue Lupa can decidedly not handle", offered Bast. "At one point, you might be threatened by a wolf and it might put her in an awkward position. I know you are getting along with your current pack, but even a visiting wolf could."

"Okay... I guess...", muttered Percy, frowning deeply. "Thanks. For... coming over."

"Of course", nodded Bast with a smile. "I'll give you my number, you text me every time you have a problem, okay? I'll help you and if you need me, I will come over."

"Thank you", smiled Percy.

/break\

Nico startled awake from his nap as a weight landed on his stomach. Sitting up surprised, he stared at the black ball of fur. His eyes widened when the black fluff turned into his boyfriend – his boyfriend wearing traditional Bastet robes. The deer-hind over his shoulder, proudly wearing what they had hunted together. Black cat-ears twitched as Percy tilted his head.

"Yo—ou neglected to tell me about the damn dress-code", growled Percy pointedly.

Nico grinned up at Percy, reaching his hands out to cup Percy's ass. "I wanted it to be a surprise. I knew that Bast wanted to come and help you with that."

Huffing, Percy leaned down and kissed Nico, slowly and deeply. "Jerk."

All Nico did was grin and pinch Percy's ass. "You look hella fine, doll."

"Mh... don't sweet-talk me with your old-fashioned nonsense", purred Percy, kissing down Nico's throat. "Still, you could have told me when I asked you what to wear."

"Sorry, sorry, babe", sighed Nico, tilting Percy's head so he could actually kiss him. "I thought it'd be a nice surprise for you and I didn't know when Bast would come."

"Stupid bat", grumbled Percy, nibbling Nico's collarbone. "It... was a nice surprise. It was insanely awesome seeing everyone in those clothes. Wearing them myself. This is nice."

"Looks nice too", hummed Nico, caressing Percy's thighs.

"So... you up for some... fun?", asked Percy mischievously, tugging on Nico's shirt.

"I haven't even had breakfast yet", grunted Nico.

"Mh... that a problem?", asked Percy, decidedly tilting his head and baring his throat.

Nico's eyes flashed black. He had fed on Percy before. Casually so too, but never during sex. Percy grinned and shrugged before tugging on Nico's shirt. The vampire allowed it to be tugged off, though when Percy wanted to shed his own clothes, Nico stopped him.

"You, leave it on. You look... ridiculously hot", grunted Nico, eyes still black.

Grinning amused, Percy started working on Nico's pants, until the vampire was naked beneath him. Percy got up and removed his boxers while also grabbing the lube out of the nightstand, throwing it at Nico. Roaming through the nightstand, Percy also got a condom out. With a victorious smile did Percy join Nico on the bed again. Unwrapping the condom, Percy rolled it over Nico's already hard cock. It was way too easy to get Nico hard. Nico groaned, leaning back. Percy knelt on top of Nico, lubing up his fingers and reaching behind himself. Closing his eyes and sighing contently, Percy slipped his fingers in and started prepping himself. Nico grasped Percy's thighs, caressing them while Percy scissored himself. Nico was rock-hard and leaking by the time Percy was finally done. Leaning down, Percy kissed his boyfriend and slowly eased himself onto Nico's hard cock.

"I lo—ove your cock", groaned Percy, burying his face in Nico's neck, kissing and nibbling it.

"Thanks", grunted Nico a bit amused, reaching his hands out to cup Percy's ass.

Percy was biting and kissing Nico's neck. Emphasis on the biting though. Eager to leave a mark on his Nico. His fingernails were digging into Nico's shoulders, making the vampire hiss as they pierced skin when they kind of accidentally turned into claws. Nico growled, grabbing Percy by the hips and rolling them over, trapping Percy beneath him on the bed.

"I'm the vampire, I do the biting", growled Nico amused.

Purring, Percy bared more of his neck. A shudder wrecked him as Nico sank his teeth in. Vampire fangs. Vampire venom. Percy had been careful, after the first time Nico had bitten him. Reading up on any potential side-effects – addiction or loss of autonomy like those mind-controlled people in the movies. It seemed it were the sirens who had more the mind-controlled powers. The vampire-venom? Less like drugs, more like alcohol. Still with the potential of getting addicted, but most people could control and just enjoy the ride every now and again.

"Ye—es, I love yo—ou", moaned Percy in a drawn-out way.

Nico growled as he drank from Percy while thrusting into him. Percy wrapped his fingers around his own cock, jerking himself off while enjoying the feeling of Nico inside of him, on all sides. Nico's fingers were digging into Percy's ass as he lifted Percy off a little while fucking him. The catboy was the first one to come into his own hand. Gasping, Percy collapsed back on the bed and enjoyed how Nico fucked him through his orgasm, until the vampire also came and slowly withdrew his teeth from his neck. Gently, Nico licked over the wounds until they healed over.

"That was a nice way to wake up", hummed Nico as he collapsed next to Percy. "And an amazing breakfast. Urgh, how do you taste this good, gattino?"

Love you too", yawned Percy and curled against Nico, closing his eyes.

"...Perce? I thought you came over because you wanted to do something with me?", asked Nico, frowning confused, nudging Percy. "Hey, babe...?"

"Mh...? Was an exhausting morning", yawned Percy. "I got up at like six AM and spent ho—ours in that damn meeting. And you're just, laying here, still sleeping at one PM."

"Point taken", chuckled Nico. "I gotta admit, I spent half the night playing video games with Thanatos... and I figured I had no plans for today. Now, apparently, I do have plans."

Percy blinked and tilted his head to stare up at Nico. "Batman, you still got no plans."

"So what, you just came for a quick fuck and are going to leave me again?", asked Nico amused.

"No. I'm just saying you don't have plans because I am exhausted", yawned Percy. "I'm here to take a nap and you will be my pillow. What, you just said you don't have any special plans today either, right? So can we just curl together and totally do nothing together?"

"That actually does sound like an amazing idea", sighed Nico contently.

"Ye—ep", agreed Percy and got out of the bed.

"What are you doing? We just established not to do anything?", complained Nico.

"Dude. That jewelry and the the pelt are super uncomfortable", snorted Percy.

He slowly started to peel off layers of his clothes and jewelry, putting it aside. Then, he walked over to Nico's closet to raid it. Putting on a pair of sweat-pants and a black hoodie. Nico smiled pleased as he saw his kitten in his clothes. Wiggling into the comfortable hoodie, Percy returned to the bed and curled against Nico once more, pillowing his head on Nico's chest.

"Love you", hummed Percy, kissing Nico's collarbone.

"Love you too, kitten", smiled Nico, kissing the top of Percy's head. "Now, tell me. How was your first council meeting? Aside from the... make-over?"

"Interesting. I mean. Boring, but interesting", chuckled Percy. "Lot of things I didn't quite understand or that didn't really matter to me, but... I guess one day it will matter to me, on behalf of the... people under my care. Which is still such a weird concept for me, you know."

"I get it", sighed Nico. "But you'll do good. And I'll be there for you, help you, mh?"

"You and Bast both", chuckled Percy. "Ye—eah. She gave me her number and offered me to help me and be my representative until I'm old enough to take over the council seat."

"Generous", hummed Nico. "I figured something like that after Carter called."

"Can you... tell me more about my grandma?", asked Percy reluctantly.

Nico frowned for a curious second before nodding. "I mean, I haven't met her very often. She was a kind and caring woman. She was being adored by everyone who met her."

"And that... was why the whole... pride fell apart, huh?", muttered Percy with a frown.

"What's on your mind, Perce?", asked Nico carefully.

"I don't know", shrugged Percy. "I mean, Luke and the others are awesome. Silena and the others are too. I just... being with Bast, having her tell me even just a little bit about my culture... I came to wonder what it'd be like if there was an actual pride here. If I had other cat-shifters here..."

"You will, at one point", promised Nico, pressing a kiss against Percy's temple.

Sighing, Percy closed his eyes and snuggled up to Nico, enjoying the gentle way Nico was caressing his sides, until Percy fell asleep in his boyfriend's arms.

Author's note: Next chapter, Sally has a surprise for Percy and for you and that is all I will say! ;D
