Chapter 36

One Last Time

Thorin's POV

I cast off my crown and robe. Elena smiled at me and I put my arms around her and pulled her tight against me.

"We will live through this. And when we have finished I will marry you officially. In front of all my people so they all know how much I love you."

She smiled.

"I like the sound of that."

I pulled her lips to mine and kissed her quickly but passionately.

"I told you I would always stand with you."

He nodded and I took her hand. We walked to the others and Kili stood up.

"I will not hide, while others fight our battles for us! It is not in my blood Thorin."

I stopped in front of my nephew.

"No it is not. We are sons of Durin. And Durin's folk never run from a fight."

He smiled and I touched my forehead to his. I then looked at the rest of my men. I looked at Elena and she smiled and nodded.

"I have no right to ask this of any of you. But will you follow me? One last time?"

They all stood up and I smiled. I looked at Alejandro.

"I know you will not like this, but I want you to stay here. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you. Please…..my brother."

He smiled and put his hand on my shoulder.

"Take care of my sister."

I smiled.

"You know I will."

He nodded again. We brought the great bell up and then cut the rope.

Elena's POV

We smashed through the wall and went running out.

"To the king! To the king!" Dain shouted.

"Du bekar!" Thorin shouted.

I stood by Thorin's side as we slashed through the orcs. I was stronger and faster than any foe on that field. I jumped and it was almost as though I were flying. I hit the ground and it shook making several orcs take a step back in fear. I smirked and ran at them, slashing away at their heads. I blew fire on several more.

"Elena!"

I looked to Thorin. He waved me over and I ran to him.

"There are too many of these buggers. I hope you have a plan." Dain said.

Thorin looked up.

"Aye…we are going to take out their leader."

He mounted a war ram and pulled me up behind him.

"Azog…"

"I am going to kill that piece of filth!"

I held onto him and he charged forward. Fili, Kili and Dwalin also rode beside us. I looked ahead to see Azog watching us.

"~Your death is coming.~" I hissed.

I knew Thorin was smiling. We rode up to Raven Hill and then jumped off the ram. I drew my sword and looked around. I could not see anyone, but something still did not feel right.

Third Person POV

Alejandro did not stay inside the mountain. He ran out and fought. He went to Dale and found Gandalf.

"Gandalf!"

He and Bilbo looked at the young knife thrower.

"Where's my sister?"

They looked at each other and then Legolas and Tauriel came riding forward.

"Gandalf!"

Gandalf looked relieved.

"Legolas! Legolas Greenleaf!"

He got off the horse and walked forward. Alejandro glared at him.

"You're the one who hit me!"

"And I regret it. Especially after meeting your sister." He looked at Gandalf. "There is a second army! Bolg leads a force of Gundebad orcs attacking from the north." he said.

"The north? Where is the north exactly?" Bilbo asked.

"Raven Hill."

He looked towards Raven Hill.

"Thorin is up there! And Fili, Kili and Elena! They are all up there!"

Alejandro began to panic.

"I have to get them!"

"Absolutely not! They will see you."

"I will go."

"If I said no to this young man then I am saying no to you." said Gandalf.

"They will not see me."

"I will not allow it."

"I am not asking you to allow it Gandalf."

Bilbo ran off and Gandalf looked back at Legolas.

"Keep on eye on this one will you?"

Legolas nodded but Alejandro was not too happy about it.

"Let us go."

"To where?" Alejandro asked.

Legolas smiled at him.

"To help your sister."

Alejandro smiled and he, Legolas and Tauriel ran off.

Thorin's POV

Something did not feel right.

"Azog had fled." Kili said.

"I do not think so."

I looked at Fili.

"Fili take your brother and search. If you see something do not engage."

Fili nodded and they left. Elena looked extremely worried.

"Elena?"

She took my hand and squeezed. She did not take her eyes off that tower.

"Thorin!"

We turned and there was Bilbo.

"Bilbo!"

"It is not safe here! Azog has another army attacking from the north. This watchtower will be completely surrounded!"

My eyes widened.

"That orc scum is in there. I say we go in there and…."

I grabbed Dwalin's arm.

"No! That is what he wants. This is a trap Find Fili and Kili, call them back. We will live to fight another day."

I started to walk away with Bilbo and Elena but she stopped. She looked back and I heard something. Azog was coming forward and he had Fili! He held him up and Elena tried to run forward.

"FILI!"

Suddenly a knife came from nowhere and Fili fell. I let out a breath of relief when he caught hold of the wall. Azog gave some sort of command and he and the orcs disappeared again. I saw Kili in a doorway at the very bottom of the tower. I had to get to them. I heard something else behind us and turned.

"Goblin mercenaries. No more than a hundred." Dwalin said.

"We will take care of them. Elena, find Fili and Kili. And your brother, I knew he is here somewhere. He is the only one who could have saved Fili. GO!"

I nodded and ran across the lake ice. I would not let Azog kill my family or my friends. Several orcs came running forward and I stopped. It was cold and when I tried to blow fire it did not work. I growled in frustration and then slashed through them with my sword. I found Fili but we could not find Kili.

"I will find him, go to your uncle."

"But…"

"NOW!"

He hugged me and then left. I ran up the tower and I saw Thorin on the lake. There were too many orcs! And one was coming up behind him.

"THORIN!"

Before he could even turn an arrow went through the orcs head. I looked in the direction it had come from and smiled. Legolas was up there firing arrows all over the place.

Thorin and I will be rewarding him greatly for this!

"KILI!? KILI!?"

"TAURIEL!"

I ran in direction of the screams and I heard a shout of pain. I ran faster and I saw Tauriel on the ground nearly ledge. It was Bolg! It had to be. He had Kili and he was about to stab him. I knew it was now or never. I took a deep breath and then blew fire at the bastard's back. He cried in pain and dropped Kili. I looked at him and Tauriel.

"Get her out of here! Go!"

A knife came flying out, but it bounced off Bolg's…imbedded metal. I ran to Tauriel who was badly hurt. Bolg looked at us and started to come forward. Kili got in front of Tauriel and I before Bolg threw him aside. He ran at me but Tauriel pushed me aside and jumped him.

"Tauriel!" Kili shouted.

They both fell of the edge. Kili ran forward and we saw them rolling down. Bolg was thrown to the side and Tauriel rolled onto her back. She was alive but injured.

"Go! Help her."

"What about you?"

"I have to help your uncle." I looked over and smirked. "And you will have some help from my friend over there."

He looked over to where Legolas was riding a toll like creature. He rammed it into a crumbling watchtower and it fell.

"He look he made a bridge! It only took him like what? Ten seconds, eleven tops." I said.

I ran off to find Thorin.
