Warning Saga: Part 3
Chapter Thirty Eight: The Hero's Return
Everyone followed this weird youth toward the area he claimed Son Goku would crash land at. This young man touched down first as his lead implied, he reached back to his sword shifting its position in the sheath as most of the others touched down.
This mystery fighter sat down on the nearest boulder leaving his brown tipped boots to dangle over the edge as he looked at Vegeta, who decided to sit down on an adjacent boulder. The prince shot him a scary glare causing the new warrior to quickly look down at his boots. The purple haired warrior silently sighed seemingly upset by something he didn't know.
"Kakarot is going to land here are you sure?" Raditz asked. The teenaged Super Saiyan looked up almost with respect for the reforming brother of Son Goku." Well spill it are you sure this is the spot where my brother is going to land," the long-haired Saiyan growled.
"I'm one hundred percent sure Goku will land right over there," the mushroom-haired Saiyan pointed. Raditz nodded in response, he respected the frankness and respectful tone the Super Saiyan had shown him even though he was being treated wrongly.' Raditz you're still the Raditz I know. Though he's mellowed some with age,' he sighed internally.
"What are you looking at?" the daydreaming Super Saiyan found himself snapped into reality by the harsh voice of Vegeta.
"I'm looking at your shirt," the warrior said quickly a bad excuse. The purple haired warrior was put on the spot and he hated it but he could not say that aloud because Vegeta would probably hit him." I like the color of it," another lie but it worked as Vegeta smirked his hair rustling in the wind.
"Hah, of course you would," the prince laughed wildly. The dust blew around the prince's feet the winds slowly picking up.
'Mom was right Vegeta you are an asshole,' this youth thought standing up from the rock he was sitting.
He walked out in the center of the circle of anxious warriors. The purple haired warrior reached up to his vest-like Capsule Corps jacket and unbuttoned the pouch on the left side of his chest. The Super Saiyan reached in pulling out a silver-grey case with the same 'CC' logo as his jacket, he clicked the button that was just beneath the lid of device four capsules sitting firmly inside.
The first capsule was marked with the symbols 'HM' 12 and was colored purple probably a liquid holding capsule. The middle was marked 'TM' H1, the capsule itself being a vehicular capsule. The final pod was marked 'PR' 2, it was a support capsule for whole meals and drinks though its contents were still unknown by the Z-Fighters. The last was marked 'EC' 3 and was a clothing capsule probably holding a change or so of clothes for the Super Saiyan.
The young man's hand moved over to the last of the three pulling the pill-like holding cell out from under its belt. He looked at it with a smile before clicking the plunger and throwing it on the ground. It exploded with the all to familiar and quite comical 'Baboom' a portable refrigerator coming out of the smoke its compressor running instantly.
"Here everyone drink up," the warrior yelled the door popping open. He reached in first as the others looked back apprehensively, the drink he had grabbed was a lime-lemon drink called Sierra Dew. The other drinks were an assortment of Colas, Beers, Ales, and many others."Come on guys its not going to eat you," he yelled over, the youngest member of the Son family walking forward first.
"You have grape my favorite," he grabbed the large can as the Super Saiyan chugged his rather citrus-y beverage. Krillin walked over next but Gohan was still in the way." Here Krillin have this one," Gohan handed over the can he had taken earlier reaching in to grab another.
"Thanks kid. How'd you know?" the former Orin Temple monk said tearing the tab off of the top of his can.
"No problem," the young half-breed did the same. He was so happy and joyous, it made the purple haired fighter smile slightly before looking away in the blue skied distance.
Bulma walked over next reaching in for a beer and strangely enough her favorite brand of lager was on the middle shelf staring at her. The beautiful genius popped the top off herself and walked to the other side of the cooler allowing Yamcha to walk over to the short refrigerator.
"So do you work for us?" the Capsule Corps heiress asked. Her blue hair was held up in a ponytail after working in her lab all day, well beside her lunch break which was interrupted by Frieza and his father.
"Uh..no I'm just a fan," he sipped the drink down slowly as the genius did the same. The dirty old jacket was an old make than the ones the corporation gave for the past few years begging the woman to ask the prior question.
"Really? If you give me your name I can recommend you for a job and trust me I have the power to get you any job you want," she proudly proclaimed puffing out her chest. The Saiyan blushed almost like a kid whose mother embarrassed him by doing the chicken dance or something of the sort.
"No thanks I don't really need a job," he humble stated as Raditz and Turles finally stepped up to the cooler.
"Well at least you have a good taste in drinks," the gruff older brother of Goku remarked grabbing an ale from the bottom shelf and pushing the top in.
"HeTap?" Turles looked at the orange can in his hand perplexed by the odd name." What the hell is a HeTap?" he yelled as Vegeta took one from the same shelf.
"Its a drink served at the woman's house must be popular with these fools," the prince stated as Turles opted for a bottle of harder beer.
Not to make a boring sitting scene anymore boring lets do the time warp again so we can get to Son Goku's crash landing.
After two hours of sitting on their rear-ends the Z-Fighters all stood up a power level they were all familiar with striking their senses. The emotions on each of their faces ranged from joyous to non-caring but for the most part they were all happy to finally feel the Earth's greatest champion's ki. Young Gohan grinned from ear-to-ear just like Krillin and Yamcha, a true hero was coming home in their eyes at least.
"Well it took you long enough Kakarot," Vegeta smugly stated as the loud woofing noise of the air breaking around the pod reached their ears. A red fireball burned slightly brighter than the sun as it tore closer to its inevitable resting place upon the ground.
"I agree with you there Vegeta but probably for a different reason," Yamcha realized. The former bandit was upset by the fact that Vegeta was only desiring to obtain the Super Saiyan form. The Turtle School student looked up towards the sky as the ball grew closer the metal searing with heat.
The ball of heated metal continued to fall toward the dusty ground that covered the bottom of the quarry. The air hissed as the Attack Pod kept on its path toward to Earth below. The hero's friends watched as massive heat grew more intense, none of which noting the youth from wherever smiled ready to meet this powerful Son Goku that he had never known.
'BOOOM!' the sphere from the Planet Trade destroyed the ground just in front of the Earth's defenders. The massive debris wave flew in their faces as the pod burrowed into the ground. The inside of the crater was partially glassed over from the incredibly intense heat and pressure the pod had exerted upon the ground beneath it. The shaking of the ground stopped as the clouds of smoking debris slowly faded away.
The pod was searing like oil in a pan, the residual heat from entering the atmosphere and the friction caused by such. The bottom beneath the pod was practically diamond from the exertion the pod had along with its heat being held in one place. The red tint left the metal as a cool gust was flung across the top of the huge crater. The small door opened with a hiss, the wispy air inside coming out in a large stream of white smoke.
The glass of the pod cracked as a rather slender figure stepped on it as he left the confined space. His body was still shrouded by the smoke that had left the pod prior to himself. One defining feature was palming hair proving that he was indeed: Son Goku Earth's Savior, or if your were a Saiyan Kakarot, the Last son of Bardock.
"Uh hey guys," he waved looking up at all the cheering people at the top of his landing site. While not the sharpest knife in the drawer the Saiyan raised on Earth was still aware of the world around him." How did you know I'd land here?" he flew out of the crater slowly his arms crossed.
"Well Goku this guy told us where you would land," Krillin pointed to the mushroom haired warrior that had killed both Frieza and King Cold with relative ease as a Super Saiyan." So, uh, do you know who he is?" the bald human asked as Goku reached the edge of the pit.
"I don't think so, have we met?" the warrior from the Eastern Mountains said confused.
"No, I've heard a lot about you though," the purple haired warrior calmly sighed." Can I talk to you in privacy about something important," he asked with a morbid undertone that the first Super Saiyan didn't pick up on.
"Sure let's go to the other side of the crater its a few dozen yards away," the palm-haired warrior pointed to the furthest point away from everyone. The warrior nodded in response causing Goku to smile." Guys can you stay here," he said bluntly causing some of them to look at him awkwardly.
"Let's go," they flew across the pit leaving everyone else being semi-shocked. The two Super Saiyans landed on the edge of the opposite side of the crater leaving them in privacy from the others by distance among nothing else.
"What did ya want to talk about?" the powerful warrior asked. His palming hair slowly rustled in the breeze as the opposing warrior looked down at the ground with an upset expression." Come on its only you and me. Don't worry about it," the lighthearted warrior smiled warming the younger Super Saiyan's expression.
"Do you remember the Red Ribbon Army?" the tone of sadness returned to the young warrior's voice. The perplexed looked on Goku's face showed that he was trying to remember the army he had tore apart as a child.
"Yeah, I do I was only a kid when I stopped them," the strangely dressed Saiyan said looking up at the sky." Why what are the doing and how did you know it?" the Earth's warrior asked.
"My name is Trunks and I'm from nearly twenty years in the future where the Red Ribbon Army had reemerged in the form of Androids and one of their scientist," the youth looked down at the ground a tear rimming in his right eye." That scientist was Doctor Gero, a cruel man that used his intelligence to get his revenge on the Earth with a devilish duo of Androids," the Saiyan sighed.
"Then how come we didn't stop them?" Goku asked as naively as ever.
"They did try and all of them failed," the Saiyan that had defeated Frieza cried." Piccolo tried first and was slaughtered swiftly by them. Then my father tried-" Goku interrupted.
"Ah excuse me, I can grip stuff about the future but who is your father?" the Turtle School graduate once more questioned his younger friend. The palm-haired Saiyan knew that it was urgent but he still had to ask.' His face looks familiar now that I'm looking at it.'
"My father is.." Trunks pointed out across the crater toward Vegeta, who was standing next to Yamcha." Vegeta. That's why I'm so strong I'm a half-Saiyan just like Gohan and... Ro- he hasn't been born yet," the mushroom haired Saiyan caught himself trying not to alter the future more than he already had.
"Wow I feel sorry for his wife," the Saiyan laughed slightly a blush forming across the youth's face." Guess I shouldn't have said that. Uh. I'm sorry than who is your mother?" naive at first Son Goku quickly changed as he prodded once more. It was clear he was trying get the full story the brave warrior was conveying.
"My mom is Bulma," the half-ling revealed with a huge pinkish blush on his face, showing why the interaction between his mother had been so awkward. Goku nearly fell into the crater after heard the new. The Earth raised Saiyan was awed by the fact the grumpy Saiyan prince had a child with his rather levelheaded friend Bulma.
"Really Bulma and Vegeta huh. Must have been pretty interesting growing up," the naïve warrior once more was back on his typical train of thought.
"Well it didn't matter. My father even as a Super Saiyan was killed with ease by only one of the Androids, I was barely old enough to even talk," the youth returned to the dark and morbid story." Yamcha, Tien, Krillin all died even with their best efforts. Krillin was the only one that died quickly out of them the others suffered through hours of beatings. All trying to fight until the bitter end like you."
"What about Turles or Raditz?" Goku asked about the fate of his brothers. Even if both of them were still rough around the edges maybe a few years of the future would do them some good at least in the slightest.
"Turles put up the most valiant effort out of the group," the boy remembered hearing the news the day that Turles was finally killed by the devil's worst creations. At that point he had been an eight years old, though he did not know Turles too well." He forced his body to the maximum and even managed to make one use its full power but without much back up he was overwhelmed by their infinite stamina and numbers advantage. When we could get his body it was buried next to the others in the remains of Capsule Corps atrium the Androids wouldn't desecrate it," he remembered his three mentors training him for this day...
"Raditz is still alive or he was when I traveled back in time this morning," the future born half-breed said grimly." He was blinded in both eyes protecting someone close to him. His ego wouldn't let him rest instead he insisted to fight alongside Gohan and I," he gulped." Gohan wasn't so lucky he died after his twenty third birthday again he fought with every ounce of power he could but it wasn't enough. I wasn't enough," a tear trickled down the side of his face dropping to the collar of his purple jacket.
"Well who was Raditz protecting? Was it a son, a wife? And what happened to me?" he rubbed the teenagers shoulder.
"Yes, he had a son a teenager a year older than I am. He was named Rote but he died beside Gohan I had to see them buried broken and beaten," he cried slightly harder the struggle all to real for him." You, you, Goku, never got the chance to fight the Androids six months prior a radical and rapid Heart Virus had taken you from the world leaving it without much hope," once more he pulled out the capsule case causing Goku to give him a strange look.
"This, Son Goku is the antidote to the virus we didn't have it when you came down with the Heart Virus in my time but after your death my mother worked day-in and day-out to get the cure. She also worked on a Time Machine which explains my appearance here," he handed him the capsule filled with medicine." This will take at least a day to kick in but when it does you'll be ready to go. You need to help protect this world, this time line," he smiled drawing his sword from its sheath.
"What are you doing?" the hero of Earth asked.
"I'm going to ask you if you can become a Super Saiyan at will," he regained a serious tone almost angry.
"Well it took a while but yes I can," a golden flare surged from beneath his feet and badabing badaboom he was a Super Saiyan golden hair and all." What are you going to do now?" he asked the tone of his voice still harsh.
"I'm going to become a Super Saiyan," the ground cracked under the amount of energy he exerted obviously he still didn't have complete control of the legendary ki." What do you think?" he smiled.
"Well anything but impressed would be the wrong answer a Super Saiyan at your age is incredible no wonder I didn't have to get here to fight Frieza," he proclaimed as a compliment.
"How'd you get here to beat Frieza and Cold?" the younger less experienced warrior asked.
"Heheh well its a long story. I learned how to move instantly wherever I wanted to as long as there was a large enough ki and Raditz or Vegeta give off enough energy to satisfy that. If I wanted I could have teleported onto Frieza's ship and stopped him before returning here to Earth."
"Then my intervention was worthless," the younger Super Saiyan looked down at the ground saddened by the whole endeavor.
"Don't get down on yourself we should probably get started I know you want to test my power to see if I could make any difference," the Super Saiyan of Earth stated bluntly like most things a Super Saiyan said.
Across the pit...
"Uh they're both Super Saiyans aren't they," Yamcha gulped looking at the golden flashes across the crater.
"Yeah that isn't good is it," Krillin added as Piccolo scoffed.
No one knew that Piccolo picked up every word the two exchanged but it was a secret he would keep for now.' I see. So I need to begin training instantly possibly harder than any of these Saiyans.'
"Hopefully they're just showing off," the former assassin Tien soberly mumbled as the others stared with wide eyes at the two.
"I'm ready hit me with all you have," the Saiyan had a feeling that the younger fighter would use the rather impressive blade he currently held in both hands so he lifted up only his right index finger. A golden halo descended upon it filling it with energy as the other fighter launched off.' Let's see if the sword makes that man,' he narrowed both eyes keeping a calm composure.
The first slash was close to his face but he deflected it by throwing his hand up and blocking the vertical cut with a horizontal finger position. Another slash came but his index finger followed. Another came followed by another, the same blade strikes that had turned Frieza to dice were doing absolutely nothing to the Saiyan warrior. A vertical slash to the chest was held back by Goku's knuckle causing Trunks to stare in shock.
"You really are as strong as Raditz said my intervention wasn't necessary," the son of Vegeta landed back on the ground in front of Goku their auras overlapping. At the same time both lost their transformed states leaving them staring at each other with respect and honor.
"How much do you want me to tell the others? I mean I can't tell Bulma and Vegeta that you're their son it would make things awkward wouldn't it," the hero placed his hand under his chin trying to think of how much he was going to tell them.
"Don't tell them about any of their relationships just tell them about the Androids and their appearance on an island nine miles south of South City. Only tell Chi-Chi and maybe Gohan about the Heart Virus I don't want the others to get suspicious."
"I guess I'll see ya again in three years, be it as a baby or as you are now, until then good luck in your timeline," he saluted as the other Saiyan prepared to take off. Trunks glared back feeling Goku's eyes bore into his back." And if it comes to it: never give up. You can be the light that pierces the darkness," Goku gave thumbs up once again as a tear swelled in the purple haired warrior's eye.
Goku then went on to explain his temporary stay on Yardrat and learning the Instant Transmission as well as gaining the control over the primal instincts that drove the Saiyan form. he continued on by talking about the bounty that was placed on his head and how much food the Yardrats ate.
In simple terms he was all over the place telling his tales of adventure in outer space. He was then laughed at by Vegeta and Turles for the strange attire he had obtained.
The Champion of Earth then took in a deep breath remembering the dark tales of the future Trunks had warned him about.
"In three years two androids will attack an island nine miles south of South City. We need to train hard for this or else we might not survive."
He got a nod from everyone else and they took off on their different paths Raditz flew back from where he came. And Turles, Vegeta, and Yamcha all flew back to Capsule Corps with Bulma in tow.
And so began a long and arduous journey for our defenders. The Saiyans all were trying to obtain the same thing, the legendary Super Saiyan form. The humans were going to train their Kaioken so they could possibly keep up for at least a little while. Piccolo stayed over toward Frieza's ship and destroyed it a grave reminder of his home planets destruction that was wiped from existence.
'I need to be strong enough to keep up with the Saiyans or else I'll be as worthless as Kami,' he thought as he began to meditate. While still planning on conquering the world it wasn't like he was evil disgruntled or mad would be more suitable for his current emotions or alignment.
Far off in space...a few days later
"My Lord, your brother's ship has been destroyed. I am afraid he has been le killed," a blue skinned Breenchian walked out into the faint light of the cabin. He knelt before two hover chairs each turned away from him." It haz been presumed that the Super Saiyan had once more defeated your brother and Emperor Cold as well," the bowing warrior flinched as the first chair turned around.
"Ah, yes I should have known my brother's naïveté over sparing a few Saiyans was a little too optimistic," the alien was covered by darkness but one could obviously assess that this being was an Arcosian." Doore set a course for Earth. The Super Saiyan will pay for taking the joy of finally besting my brother away," he snarled as a steward came and filled his glass with wine.
The saucer began on its path toward Earth though it would take a while, he would get there and have his revenge.
Fin. Cooler Saga then Androids I've kinda stalled this story enough but there will be an adequate Android Saga followed by a (hopefully) enjoyable Cell Saga. At the end of the Cooler Saga there will be a few paragraphs describing their training sessions over the years.
Hope you enjoyed and have very good Easter(if you celebrate it)
