The Bionic Solo

In stepped, "Adam!" Leo cried happily at the sight of his brother. "Adam" Mr. Davenport repeated after his son. Adam walked into an embrace of Leo, Mr. Davenport and Tasha. When Mr. Davenport let go, Adam asked, "So where's Bree and Chase?". Mr. Davenport's expression returned to worried. Anxious. Tasha glanced at her husband and Leo. "How, about you two come upstairs for dinner and leave Donald alone for a bit" Tasha said and guided her two sons to the elevator. "Dinner's ready upstairs if you're hungry" Tasha told Donald and gave him a quick kiss. Donald gave her a half smile in return.

It was as if history were repeating itself...

Flashback:

The loud beeping of the alarm greeted the bionic trio as they entered the room. "It's red lining" Chase said, looking at the machine. "Adam bust open that control panel"

Adam wasn't here with him on this mission.

"Okay Bree, run down to the collider and use your super speed to create a vacuum to slow that thing down" Chase directed. "Oh sure, give the girl the vacuuming job" Bree complained. "Will you just go" he rushed his sister.

Bree wasn't here to complain. Chase was all alone.

"This isn't working. Nothing is working!" Chase exclaimed as he slammed the control table. "We're running out of time" Chase added, trying to think of a plan.

After that, Chase fried the control panel with his force field. And everything turned out okay. Chase was drawn back to the mission at hand by the alarm screaming even louder then before. Chase looked up to see the red lights shining brightly over his head. Chase looked around the room. Most of the equipment was broken besides the main computer. "Chase" a voice called him. Chase barely heard it over the sound of the alarm. " Chase what's going on, you should have been back by now" Mr. Davenport asked him through the ear piece. "Everything's...okay" Chase said, and tried another set of controls. There was a pause before Chase heard a reply, "Just, come home soon" Mr. Davenport said.

Bree walked along the halls. She was trying to be causal. In her left boot, hid a small tube of tetrodotoxin. But with the tube in her boot, it caused a small lump and made her walk with a sort of limp. Bree turned around a corner, trying to find her way out.

Chase tried his hardest, it was so much pressure. The blaring of the alarms, the lights shining. His ears were ringing. Chase slammed his fist onto the control table and took a deep breath. Nothing was working. Chase looked around the room in vain, trying to find a source to stop the nuclear plant from imploding. Nothing. Chase was beginning to lose hope. Was he to come home to Mr. Davenport with a failed mission.

No, failing a mission was not a choice. "Hey! Kid!" Chase heard over the sound of the alarm. Chase turned to the doorway. "Hurry up and follow me!" the man urged. He didn't wait for a reply, for he had run out of the room. As quickly as he had come. Chase looked around one last time before grabbing his mission bag and running after the man.

Their feet hit the floor as they ran. "Where are we going?" Chase asked. "Out" "What?" "I'm taking you out of here" the man said. Chase stopped running. "I'm not going" Chase called back at him. The man stopped in his tracks. "Not until I finish my mission" Chase said. "What is your mission? Is it to stop this nuclear plant from going up into flames?" the man asked. Chase stared hard at the man, and the two locked eyes. It was a short moment, but Chase turned away.

Bree ran straight into a guard. "Hey what where you're going" he spat at her. Bree nodded, she didn't know who she was now. The guard, took a look at her, but let her pass. Bree let out a sigh of relief as the guard walked away. Bree began walking again, trying to find her way out.

Mr. Davenport sat in the lab, his head in his hands. His worry for the other two bionic teens grew as the hours passed. Mr. Davenport's head shot up at the sound of metal doors opening. Mr. Davenport got up from his seat and looked at the door. In stepped Chase. "Chase" Mr. Davenport said happily and walked over to his son, giving him a hug. Chase smiled, "I finished my mission" Chase told Mr. Davenport. Mr. Davenport smiled back and put a hand on his son's shoulder, "Yeah I knew you would" Mr. Davenport told him.

Bree was hopelessly confused. She couldn't find a way out. It was all either a dead end of another door to another room. Bree looked around, and seeing no one in sight, Bree reached up to her ear and pressed the com-set.

"Mr. Davenport?" he heard. Mr. Davenport sat up quickly, "Bree? Where are you? How's the mission?" Mr. Davenport said, bombarding her with questions. "I'm fine, and I have the chemical. I just..." "What? Bree are you still there?" Mr. Davenport asked, afraid that it might be static. "Yeah I'm here, I just don't know how to get out of the factory" Bree told him. "Oh, alright just wait a minute, we'll find your location using the ear piece" Mr. Davenport said and typed in a few words on the cyber desk.

"Aright Bree, I'll just guide you out" Mr. Davenport told his daughter. But he heard no response. "Bree?" Mr. Davenport asked. There was no static, and no response. Mr. Davenport's eyes widened and he called out his daughter's name a few more time.

Bree laid on the ground, drops of blood dripping from the corner of her mouth. She looked up to see the guard, staring down at her. He grabbed her roughly by the arm and led her down a hall.

Chase and Adam looked up at their father. "Mr. Davenport, is Bree alright?" Chase asked. Mr. Davenport looked at Adam and Chase. "I don't know" Mr. Davenport answered. "We have to go and find her!" Adam exclaimed. He had not yet changed out of his mission suit. "You just came back from-" "She's my sister, I'm not leaving her" Adam said. "I'm with Adam" Chase said, standing up besides his brother. Mr. Davenport looked at his two sons. "Okay, get ready. A helicopter will be outside in ten minutes" Mr. Davenport said. Chase and Adam nodded.

Bree was still being led down the hall. She was not defenseless. Bree tripped the guard and he fell on his back. He landed with a hard thump that seemed to echo down the hall. Bree let out a breath, and began to walk away when she felt someone grabbing her leg. Bree whipped her head around to see him, his hand holding a firm grip on her boot. Bree tried to kick him off, but he wouldn't let go. Then from the end of the hallway, Bree saw another guard. And then just like that, one after another she saw. They kept coming and she was out numbered.

Chase and Adam ran down another hall, guided by Mr. Davenport on the com-set. "Do you see her?" Mr. Davenport asked, "No" Chase answered. Chase then saw a guard being flung to the wall at the end of the hallway. Chase quickened his pace and so did Adam. As the two neared the corner, four shadows were seen. Chase was not hesitant to turning the corner.

"Ah!" Bree cried out in pain as the guard held her arm in a painful position. "Where is it?" he asked her, "i..don't have it" Bree managed to sputter. "You took it didn't you" the guard said. "I..Ah!.." Bree breathed in pain as he twisted her arm harder. Suddenly, his grip began to loosen and as she stood facing the wall, shadows flickered behind her.

Everything after that was well, a haze.

Bree sat atop the black cyber desk. She was exhausted and the pain in her arm wasn't helping one bit. Mr. Davenport walked in, a fist aid kit in hand. "I'm fine" Bree told her dad, as he set the case besides her. "Roll up your sleeve" Mr. Davenport said. Bree was too exhausted to protest. Mr. Davenport noticed the redness on her arm. "Does this hurt?" he asked and gave Bree's arm a soft squeeze. Bree winced. Mr. Davenport looked at her and took out his x-ray scanner.

"Nothing serious" Mr. Davenport informed. He turned the device off and looked at Bree, "How are you feeling?" he asked her. "I don't know. Tired I guess" Bree replied. Mr. Davenport nodded, "Get some rest" Mr. Davenport said and helped Bree off the desk. Then she walked into her capsule and fell fast asleep.

-Time Skip: Morning-

Bree awoke the next morning with a light bruise on her cheek and with a sore left arm. Bree couldn't smile even if she wanted to. At the breakfast table Bree sat glumly as her brother chattered on.

"Bree do you need an ice pack for that?" Tasha asked. Bree looked up from her untouched bowl of cereal. "No" Bree answered quietly. She could barely chew and everything hurt. Bree sighed and pushed her bowl of cereal away. "Are you going to eat that?" Adam asked. Bree looked up at her brother and shook her head. "Can I have it?" Adam asked. Bree waved her hand, and Adam took that as a yes. Bree got up and stumbled to the living couch.

Bree leaned on a few throw pillows. Everything hurt. Pain was all she felt right now. Bree turned around, feeling another person sitting down besides her. "Hey" Adam greeted and sat down on her right. "Hey Bree" Chase greeted and sat down on her left. "You okay?" Leo asked and sat down besides Adam. Bree shrugged and sighed. "C'mon, let's do something to turn that frown upside down" Leo said. "It hurts to smile" Bree answered. "It won't hurt anymore" Leo told her.

Bree followed her brothers as they led her upstairs and into Leo's room.

"So what do you want to do?" Leo asked after he closed the door. Adam shrugged. "What do you want to do/" Chase asked his sister. Bree looked around, "Anything that doesn't involve a lot of movement" Bree said. Leo looked around the room. "What about a board game?" Leo asked.

And so the hours passed by quickly. Games after games they played, from Scrabble to Monopoly. The pain began to lessen. Soon enough lunch passed, and the dinner came. Bree felt better with her brothers by her side.

After dinner, Adam, Bree and Chase walked down into the lab. Her brothers were about to start messing around on the cyber desk.

"Thank you" Bree blurted out. Chase and Adam looked up. "For what?" Chase asked. Bree shrugged and walked up to her brothers, "Everything..." Bree said. "Thanks for coming for me" Bree added. "You're welcome" Adam said.

To Bree's surprise, Leo was right. It doesn't hurt to smile.
