Hime: I find it hilarious everyone thinks Gaara will kiss Naru. Hahahahahaa xD

Gaara: So that's a no right?

Hime: Yup!

Gaara: Thank God

Hime: I don't own anything!

Gaara snatched Naru's arm and used his weight to topple the both of them to the ground causing a shout of surprise from the pigtailed blonde. He tried his best to get Naru's arm into a dead-lock to make her immobile but it was clear to him that the blonde had caught on, resisting him as best she could and quite effectively Gaara had to admit.

The result of this caused the two genin, Uzumaki Naru and Gaara Sabaku to roll around on the ground like a couple of school children in a street fight. It was… undignified and very unlike Gaara's usual style of fighting. But it served it's purpose well. Naru couldn't fight him because she couldn't hit him properly thus neither of them could cause any real damage to each other.

"Ow! Not my hair! Don't pull it!" shrieked the Kyuubi container.

"You pulled on my hair first anyway!" retorted the redhead.

Genma wasn't sure whether to laugh or to facepalm. This was not proper fighting befitting of ninjas! Despite the sheer comedy it was seeing the two like this.

Temari and Kankuro were very confused. Why was Gaara not fighting like he always does? Why wasn't he unleashing his inner demon?

Something was very wrong...

Suddenly, Temari felt a bright light shine on her face so she closed her eyes and turned her head to the side. Kankuro tilted his head and saw that their jounin sensei, Baki was using a mirror to signal them.

"Temari, we need to go now" whispered the puppeteer.

"What? We're only supposed to leave when Gaara delivers the fatal blow!" his sister hissed back.

"Technically, the fatal blow was supposed to be a distraction and I think Gaara's scuffle with pigtails is pretty much the center of attention right now. Hence, we need to make a move now."

Temari turned to see Baki with a very impatient frown and knew she couldn't argue.

"Let's go then."

The two sand genin left quietly and quickly however they did not realize that they had attracted the attention of two Konoha nin...

Naru screamed in frustration before finally turning Gaara to lie on his back with her hands pinning his pale ones on the ground at the sides of his head.

"There! I finally got you!"

"Hn, you wish"

Naru let out a small shriek when she felt her back hit the ground hard and Gaara pinned both her wrists high above her head with one hand. She glared at the redhead who had a smirk on his lips.

"Happy?" asked the scowling kunoichi.

"Delighted" his eyes flashed as he whipped out a kunai and pressed it against her neck, making the blonde's eyes widen in shock.

He could kill her right now if he wanted to. He didn't need Shukaku. He could kill Naru with his own hand and with a kunai.

"G-gaara?"

The boy's eyes widened seeing the blood trail down the blade of the kunai from how hard he was pressing the sharp weapon against her neck. He dropped the kunai immediately and moved his other hand away from her wrists, releasing her. With his knees still pinned at her hips, he looked at his hands in shock while Naru drank in the air. She shivered remembering the cold look in Gaara's eyes when he pinned her.

Gaara stood up, trembling slightly but before Naru could even move to get away, the redhead pulled her by the wrist back onto her feet. Naru opened her mouth to say something but closed it again when Gaara tore out a piece of his clothing to press gently against her neck. The blonde then realized that the redhead wanted to stop the bleeding. Slowly, she moved her hand to Gaara's, the one that was holding the cloth.

"It was just a bit of blood."

Gently, she took the cloth from him to clean the blood off and the redhead saw the clear mark he left on her neck from his kunai. Naru dropped the cloth onto the ground and turned her head to meet his eyes.

"Gaara, what is wrong?" she asked, her voice soft.

The Suna nin closed his eyes and clenched his fists, "I can't hurt you."

The girl was confused, "But we're opponents. Fighting a battle against each other. We're supposed to hurt each other Gaara."

"You imbecile, I care about you idiot!"

Naru was taken aback by the sudden burst of anger from her fellow genin but then she realized what he said.

"You care about me."

Gaara blinked and Naru saw his ears turn red from embarrassment making her grin as if she won the lottery.

"Aha! I knew it! See? You do have a heart!"

Gaara watched as Naru did what he would call, "The Stupid Blonde's Happy Dance." She jumped up and down, twirled around, waved her hands in the air and other idiotic things that made her long golden blonde hair wave in front of his face but it never failed to make him amused.

When she finally stopped, she beamed at him brightly, "I knew it!"

"Whatever idiot"

Naru grinned and Gara wondered whether the stupid girl thought of idiot as a compliment since she never failed to smile at him despite calling her dumb, stupid idiot, imbecile and other things.

"You are so weird..."

"Weird is good! Weird is unique!" says the blonde. "Itachi-nii told me that!"

Gaara blinked, remembering Itachi and his warning. He sighed deeply.

"Tch, I can't even kill you like they wanted me to. This-"

"They?"

Gaara turned to see Genma with a very annoyed expression and that's when the redhead remembered that he wasn't alone with Naru like they usually were the past month.

One month and the blonde had somehow seeped into his heart and made him care, made him feel things.

Gaara grunted in annoyance before turning to the bleachers where the audience just stared, wondering what the hell was happening.

The Suna nin raised his head and projected his voice loudly and clearly for all to hear, "Listen up Konoha! Suna and Oto are in alliance! They are going to invade so prepare yourselves and fight for your village!"

They were shocked expressions among the entire audience and many people stood up, looking around frantically. Realizing, they had been given away, the enemy nin took off their disguises and charged at the first shinobi they could see.

"ATTACK!"
