Three days after Tony woke up. The doctors felt that it would be best if he was sent home. He still hadn't regained his memory but they felt he'd at least be more comfortable at home. Much to Gibbs's relief Tony had not suffered another seizure since his second one. The doctors had put him on medication but they said it could take a while to regulate. Gibbs had been instructed on what to do should Tony have a seizure at home and he had taught the other kids what to do. Just in case they were alone with him when one occurred.
"What do we do if Tony has a seizure again?" Abby asked.
"First and most importantly make sure that he is not near anything he can injure himself on. Secondly one of you time him and the other two come get me or whatever adult is around." Gibbs explained.
"What if it's just one of us and Tony?" Abby asked.
"Then time it and then scream for help really loud." Gibbs replied.
"OK" Abby replied.
"Any other questions?" Gibbs asked.
"Is Tony going to die soon?" Ziva asked.
"No why would you ask that?" Gibbs asked.
"Cause back in Israel my neighbor died of a seizure." Ziva replied.
"Oh well Tony will be on medication for his seizures and will be able to go to the hospital if he needs to. That being said something can still go wrong but we will try not to worry about that." Gibbs explained.
"Don't worry Ziva my cousin Stewart has epilepsy too and he is seventeen and healthy otherwise." Tim assured.
"Yeah he could even out grow it." Abby added.
"Hopefully he will but because the disorder is caused by a traumatic brain injury he may not." Gibbs replied.
"OK" Abby replied.
"Do you guys understand?" Gibbs asked.
"Yes" Abby replied.
"Uh huh" Tim added.
"Yep" Ziva finished.
"That's good. I have to go now." Gibbs replied.
"Can we go too?" Tim asked.
"That does not seem like a good idea. Tony still has no memory and this may be too much for him. Plus I have to talk to some doctors so it may take a long time." Gibbs explained.
"OK" Tim replied.
"Be good for Mrs. Jones." Gibbs said referring to his neighbor who had agreed to come over and watch the other children while he picked up Tony.
Ducky held Jimmy in his arms. The boy really wanted to go and see his friend but Jethro had said that Tony had still yet to regain his memory. Even though Jimmy was wise beyond his years in the field of medicine. Ducky did not want his feelings to be hurt when Tony did not remember him. He also didn't want Tony to get over stimulated. He already had enough to deal with. Coming home to what was now a strange house and having to meet three strangers that before the incident he called his siblings.
"Ducky?" Jimmy asked.
"What is it my dear boy?" Ducky asked.
"Are you sure I can't go with you and Mr. Gibbs to get Tony?" Jimmy asked.
"We have been over this James. I will take you to see Anthony as soon as he gets his memory back. Any sooner would be too much for both of you." Ducky explained/
"Oh alright" Jimmy sighed,
"I do have some good news for you." Ducky replied.
"What?" Jimmy asked.
"Mr. Slater is coming over to watch you and he is bringing Breena with him." Ducky replied.
"Breena's coming over?!" Jimmy asked.
"Yes" Ducky replied.
"YAY! YEAH! WOO HOO!" Jimmy cried.
"I am glad you are excited." Ducky giggled.
"She's my girlfriend and I am going to marry her!" Jimmy said excitedly.
"Aw that's so sweet. Will I be invited to the wedding?" Ducky asked.
"Of course you and Mr. Gibbs's family." Jimmy replied.
"Why Jethro's family?" Ducky asked
"Because you and them are my only family." Jimmy explained.
"Oh well the wedding is a long way off I assume." Ducky replied.
"How old do you have to be to get married?" Jimmy asked.
"Well that varies from state to state but my rules say no marriage until you are at least in high school." Ducky joked.
"Aw I'll probably be dead by then!" Jimmy whined.
"Jimmy I graduated high school nearly sixty years ago and I am sill alive and kicking so I don't think it will be a problem for you." Ducky replied.
"Oh alight" Jimmy sighed.
Gibbs stood in Tony's room and waited for Dr. Morris to bring the discharge papers. While Tony still had no memory of his past life with him. He had begun to trust him again. Gibbs prayed that the other people who Tony had come to love in his new life. Would be able to regain the child's trusted. He had been through so much and been betrayed by so many people already. The only reason he Tony's faith in him back was because he had showed him his badge and given him the same speech. He had given him the first night that they had met.
"I hear somebody's being discharged!" Dr. Morris said happily as she entered.
"Yeah I can't wait to have him back with me." Gibbs replied.
"You seem nice. I think I will like living with you." Tony said.
"You will I know you will." Gibbs assured.
"OWW" Tony moaned.
"What's wrong Tony?" Gibbs asked.
"My head hurts!" Tony moaned.
"Oh no does he need to stay another night?" Gibbs asked concerned.
"We will monitor him for a seizure and if he doesn't have one in the next couple hours. He can still go home." Dr, Morris explained.
"What else could be a problem besides a seizure?" Gibbs asked.
"Migraines are another side effect of Tony's injury." Dr. Morris explained.
"Poor kid" Gibbs replied.
"The good news is unless they get out of hand. You should be able to treat them with over the counter medicines." Dr. Morris replied.
"That's good I just hate how much he has to suffer." Gibbs replied.
"At least he is surrounded by people who love him and are willing to help him through whatever happens." Dr. Morris replied.
Much to Gibbs's relief Tony did not suffer a seizure and was sent home. Even if it was nearly two hours past when he was supposed to be released. They gave Tony pain medication at the hospital and it pretty much knocked him out the rest of the night. Gibbs ended up putting him in his bed. So that if anything went wrong he could be there right away. He looked at the small fragile body lying on his bed. They were literally back to square one. Tony had come so far and one selfish act had erased it. The night passed without incident. Gibbs made dinner for himself and the other kids and was able to wake Tony long enough to eat a bowl of broth. After the kids were all tucked in and ready for bed. Gibbs had a shower and headed to bed himself. The next morning Tony was feeling a lot better. After everybody else was gone and Tony had eaten a light breakfast. Gibbs decided to get out the photo album. He knew that when he had amnesia Ducky and everybody else had used photos to try to jog his memory. So he had gathered every photo he had taken since Tony came to them and put them in an album. In hopes of bringing his Tony back to them. Gibbs wasn't sure if it helped but he showed Tony pictures of each of the other kids and told him a little about each of them.
"That's Abby." Gibbs said pointing to a picture of Abby at the science fair last year proudly showing off her medal.
"She looks nice." Tony replied.
"She is really nice. She loves science and helping people. You love her and she loves you. I promise." Gibbs explained.
"Okay" Tony replied.
"That's Tim." Gibbs said pointing to a picture of Tim reading a book.
"I bet he's smart too." Tony commented.
"He is. He is really nice too but sometimes he gets snobby about how smart he is but he loves you and you love him. He likes math and writing." Gibbs explained.
"Okay" Tony replied.
"And that's Ziva." Gibbs said pointing to Ziva on her first night lived with the Gibbs family.
"What's she like?" Tony asked.
"She is really smart and extremely tough. She came from a far away place called Israel and was training to join their Army already when we adopted her. All of you except Timmy are adopted. Timmy lives with us because his family lives far away in Japan for his step-dad's job but he wasn't happy there so he moved in with us. Ziva is nice too and you guys are really close." Gibbs explained.
"Okay" Tony replied.
"I hope this helps." Gibbs said.
"Wait who's she?" Tony asked pointing to a picture.
"Let me see." Gibbs said.
"So who is she?" Tony asked.
"Oh" Gibbs replied.
"What?!" Tony demanded.
"That's Margret." Gibbs replied.
"Well who is she?" Tony asked.
"That's Margret. She uh was your step mother." Gibbs explained.
"What happened to her?" Tony asked.
"We got divorced." Gibbs replied.
"Why?" Tony asked.
"Because she didn't treat you right and made up lies about you. She said you were a bad kid and hurt her but you aren't you are a good boy." Gibbs explained.
"No Gibbs you made a mistake! I am a bad boy! I probably killed her too!" Tony cried.
"No Tony you didn't hurt anyone she..." Gibbs started.
"No I am bad! I need to leave!" Tony cried.
Gibbs tried to get Tony to no avail to calm Tony down. After a while Gibbs had to go to the bathroom. He didn't think anything of it. Tony was a loyal kid and terrified of his own shadow. So when he came back he was shocked and horrified at what he saw. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and called 911 and then his oldest friend.
"Duck! Tony ran away!" Gibbs yelled into the phone.
