Mako's POV
"You're ready?"
I turned my head and stared at Bolin who was standing beside me.
"To what?" I looked confused at him, not knowing what he was talking about.
"You're getting married, Mako" Bolin looked worried at me. "Like now?"
"Now?!"
I looked around and realized that Bolin was right. Here I was, in the throne room, with the chairs filled with people and the priest standing there ready to marry me off.
"But the wedding wasn't until tomorrow?" I looked around in shock and then looked down at myself to see the white suit, so unlike what I would normally wear. I looked at Bolin to see him wear the same, but stopped when I saw the little rose in his pocket. It was like the rose was divided in two, half of it red and half of it blue. I looked down and saw that I was wearing an identical rose. Half red and half blue. Weird.
"No, the wedding is today" Bolin looked worried at me. "You're not backing out are you?"
"No, but-" This was too fast. I wasn't sure I could take it. It is too much too quickly.
My thoughts however were quickly interrupted by the music starting. My eyes flew to the door which opened to reveal my bride. My future wife, the woman I would be spending the rest of my life with. Princess Sophia. She was beautiful, no doubt about that. Her hair was floating down her back by her own will, a wail pulled over the hair and her face so I barely could see her face. The dress was long and almost plain white. It surprised me. I would have thought that Sophia would have chosen a more complicated design. She wore jewelry, but to my shock it was like the roses divided in two, one part blue, one part red.
She walked down the aisle to me, her father held onto her hand on his arm, only letting go to hand her to me, giving his daughter away with a sad smile.
Sophia took my hands as the priest start talking.
"We are all gathered here today to celebrate….."
I remembered Bolin and Asami's wedding like a distant memory. My thoughts had been on Korra and my wedding. All my thoughts were on her. They still were. I could almost see her standing in front me. Smiling her beautiful smile while her blue eyes shined at me. I missed her. We had something. I can't even explain it with words. It was more than just love.
I could image her in front of me. Her instead of Sophia. The priest would say her name instead.
"Then I ask you Mako Lancastrians, will you take Korra Avatan as your beloved wife, to honor, to love and to cherish as long as you both shall live?"
I would look into those beautiful blue eyes.
"I do" My answer would be. And so the priest would turn to her
"And will you Korra Avatan take Mako Lancastrians as your beloved husband, to honor, to love and to cherish as long as you both shall live?"
"I do" And Korra would send me a smile, that I would happily return.
"I hereby now pronouns you husband and wife, bonded for life. You may now kiss the bride."
That was the moment I realized that I didn't hear those words, they inside my head.
"Mako!" An elbow hit me in my stomach and I turned my head towards Bolin to realize that everyone was staring at me.
"What?" I looked around me but stopped at Sophia who was standing in front of me.
"We married, Mako" She said, her voice sounding a bit off. "We're supposed to kiss"
"What?" I couldn't believe it. I actually married Sophia?! Impossible. "No"
"No?" Sophia stared at me. "What do you mean?"
"I can't marry you. I-"
"You don't love me, Mako?" Sophia slowly reached up and lifted the wail away from her face. The moment it was removed and her eyes stared into mine. Blue eyes. Not green.
"Korra"
I sat up in my bed panting like I just had run for miles. My hands went up to my face. I was just a dream? It was all a dream. I didn't get married.. to Korra. Disappointment filled me, as I slowly got up from the bed needing some air.
I walked out of the room and without really thinking I headed towards the kitchen. I used to go there all the time when I was younger. Every time I woke up at night I would head there and often meet with dad. He, like me, had a thing with waking up in the middle of the night, and went to the kitchen to have a glass of milk and a chocolate cookie. Now it was just me. Without dad.
The kitchen was empty as I entered, like it always was at night. The kitchen was used by the servants at day, but no one was ever there by night.
I quickly made myself a glass of milk that I drank.
"Can't sleep either?"
Surprised, I almost spit out the milk again. I turned around and faced the big grin on my brother's face.
"Bolin! What are you doing up at this time? You, out of all people, should be able to sleep. You always sleep"
"I don't always sleep" Was Bolin's answer. "I can just sleep the whole night unlike you… and dad"
The last part was said with a sad voice, and I nodded as I sat down the glass, and sat down on a bench.
"You can still stop it you know" Bolin sat down beside me, and I looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
"The wedding" He told me. "You can still cancel it"
"I can't-"
"Yes you can" He interrupted me. "You love Korra, right? Then why do you marry Sophia, a woman you don't love? Cancel the wedding, go back to Korra and beg her to take you back."
"It's not that easy" I got up and walked away from Bolin.
"Why not?"
"Because… Because…."
"You don't even have a good reason why, do you?"
"Bolin…"
"Think about it Mako. After you're married there's no going back. You and Sophia will be together forever" Bolin walked over to the door. "Be sure you want to do this" he said and left the kitchen.
"But that's the problem." I mumbled after Bolin had disappeared out of the door. "I'm not sure."
Sorry for the late update
Thanks again to my beta MakorraLove7 for helping with this chapter
I have had a lot of you guys asking for a Makorra ending. I'm not going to tell you how it's going to end, but you know there will be a sequel, and now I am telling you that I am a Makorra shipper
One more thing. Those of you who have seen the last episode of Legend of Korra Book 2, did you notice anything? I know I did. I noticed that the last scene between Mako and Korra (I won't tell anymore so I won't spoiler anything if you haven't seen it) remind me a lot of the last one between Mako and Korra, of course with some difference. Did you notice? Or is it just me?
Please review, so I might post a chapter tomorrow containing more than one surprise ;) And UHHH you are going to love it ;) MakorraLove7 wrote it and it's amazing So next chapter is by her, that it if you review. SO REVIEW ALL WHAT YOU CAN! NOTHING can warm my heart more than that
I'm going to end this VERY long text now and bit you all goodnight, sleep well (It's about 12 (at night) in Denmark, and I have school tomorrow)
