Airspace above China
They were now in Chinese airspace deep enough for them to begin taking pictures of Xi'an which was about to start.
Lena was playing Hearthstone.
Ray was reading Hero of My Storm.
Genji was preparing himself for the mission.
Fareeha was inspecting her rocket launcher.
Angela was thinking about the amount of casualties that the razing of Xi'an would do.
Mei was thinking about her family.
Lúcio was trying to comfort Mei.
Winston was doing some last minute fixes to Lena's chronal accelerator while she was playing Hearthstone.
Ray approached the conference table and pressed a few buttons. "I think you should check at these pictures." he said as he'd pull up aerial pictures of Xi'an.
The pictures were of something resembling hell, there was whispy flames, black, charred spots across buildings, and fissured roads. Within the distance, trees that were on the Qinling were on fire and eminating smoke.
As the Orca approached Xi'an's metropolitian area the sky became orange with dark tints as the flames blazed on.
Lena looked at the sky, and was in horror as they got into a smoke plume.
Athena turned on.
"Receiving transmission from unknown individual..." Athena said before turning static, fading into a figure who looks Chinese with a blacked out face.
"Women zhīdào ni zài zhèli... Women zhīdào ni de yìtú... Tóuxiáng huò miànlín yánzhòng hòuguo... Ni yi bèi jinggào, Guòdùkàn." said the person with a modified voice before displaying the characters 离开或受苦 on the screen.
Ray looked at it, everyone except Mei was confused.
"Can someone translate what this motherfucker and this Chinese characters are saying!" Ray demanded, baffled.
"The person said that they know were here, they know our intentions, to surrender or face serious consequences, and Overwatch has been warned." Mei said, translating what the mysterious person said while walking to the bridge to translate the written message.
She'd look at the message.
"What does it mean?" Ray asked.
"Leave or suffer." Mei replied, translating the written message.
Athena faded back into the screen.
"Photos have noticed a development." Athena announced, showing the pictures of a military force being in multiple areas of Xi'an.
"We have a big problem now." Ray announced.
"What is it, the PLA?" Lena replied sarcastically.
Ray sighed. "Yes." he said in agreement.
Winston got up. "If the Chinese military is involved in this we need to be on the ground now!" Winston ordered sternly to Ray and Athena.
"Affirmative." Ray and Athena replied in unison.
"Athena, open main doors to fifty-percent in t-minues one hundred and twenty seconds." Ray ordered to Athena.
"Beginning countdown... T-120 seconds." Athena announced, executing Ray's order.
"Get parachutes!" Winston ordered, everyone except Pharah, Ray, and himself rushed to the six parachutes, grabbed them, and puts it on.
"Affirmative." Ray replied.
"T-60 seconds." Athena announced
"If you have glasses, take them off before you jump." Winston advised as he'd take off his glasses.
Mei takes off her glasses and puts it in a pocket on her coat.
Lúcio takes off his speakervisor.
"T-30 seconds." Athena announced.
Mercy walks to all of them and gives them oxygen masks in case the air quality goes down rapidly while in the air.
"T-10 seconds." Athena announced.
Winston turns to Ray. "Ray, you and Athena will be responsible for eagle eye recon, fire support, and deploying the deployables when we need them." Winston ordered.
"Affrmative." Ray replied.
"T-5... 4... 3... 2..." Athena announced.
"Get ready." Ray said.
"1." Athena announced.
The main doors opened, allowing all of them to exit the Orca and skydrop into Xi'an.
November 9, 9:52 P.M CST
Skies above Xi'an
Within seconds all of them were now on their way down.
Most of them were freefalling.
Winston curled himself into a cannonball to reduce his freefalling velocity.
Pharah was flying like an Egyptian.
Mei was freaking out.
"It's going to be okay Mei. I'll help you survive this." Tracer said to Mei to help calm her down.
After a while, they were at around 250 meters above the surface.
"Now you need to deploy your parachute, do what I do." Tracer said to Mei to help her deploy her parachute when they are ready to use them.
A minute later everyone with parachutes deploy them.
Mei was now more calm and they dropped them into the streets of Xi'an.
November 9, 9:55 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Everyone landed.
Most landed normally with the parachutes deployed and cut.
Winston and Pharah also landed safely in their own ways.
Winston and Mei put their glasses back on.
Lúcio puts his speakervisor back on.
They began moving forward with no sense of were there trying to go.
Lúcio, Mercy, and Pharah have noticed were there going was kind of wrong.
"Were are we going?" Lúcio asked.
"We disperse, there's to many tight streets. Use your comms if you need extra help." Winston announced to them all.
They all disperse to locations across Xi'an.
November 9, 10:20 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Pharah/Tracer/Genji
They were running across an empty street to try and find some people to beat.
"Are they cowards or are they playing with us." Pharah said while they continued running.
After a while, they reached to a building near a cross section which turned into a flash fire.
Tracer avoided it by doing the celebration slide on tarmac.
Pharah used Jump Jet at the last moment.
Genji did a complex jump which involved spinning in many directions while in the air before landing.
They continued onward towards more populated areas.
November 9, 10:22 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Winston and Mercy
They were in a street full of destruction and flames, looking for survivors or any of the razers.
They walked across the charred tarmac and buildings, a street full of traditional architecture, seeing alot of moaning people.
One tourist moaned for help. "Help me." said the tourist to get them help which Mercy did instinctively.
She'd activate her Caduceus Staff's multi healing stream, healing the entire area from the civilians who were in need of help, removed the pain however the burns remained.
Winston then saw a group of Chinese soldiers arriving to the area to investigate. "Soldiers, we have to hide." he'd said to Mercy.
They rushed to behind one of the intact and not burnt buildings, waiting for the soldiers to pass.
After six minutes they exited and continued to look for more survivors or any of the razers.
November 9, 10:28 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Mei and Lúcio
Both of them were looking for things that could help with the long term of a drawn out battle against both the razers and the PLA.
They entered a more open and urban area of Xi'an, which had a couple of razers who were reloading flamethrowers. The razers looked like standard Iranian soldiers
Lúcio smirked. "Let's get them at their weakest beat." Lúcio said with confidence.
He'd skated towards them.
The razers were not expecting Lúcio to approach them.
As he'd got close he'd fire a burst at one of them. It damages it but not incapacitate.
The others pulled out their flamethrowers and aimed them.
One of them fires it, Lúcio spin dodges the flames. Lúcio counters by using Soundwave. Sending the razer flying.
Another razer gets up close to him and puts Lúcio into a full nelson.
Lúcio kicks him in the nuts however the blade on his skate does the damage. The second razer is stunned and gave Lúcio an option to get out.
Lúcio then jumps into the air and does Soundwave on the ground, causing the razers to be knock unconscious from the burst.
He'd skated back to Mei.
"Are you serious right now?!" Mei asked with anger in her voice. "You almost killed them!" she said at a higher tone of voice.
"I didn't kill them, I only gave them the piece of the beat to make sure they don't come at us again." Lúcio said in his defense. "Let's just continue, okay?" he'd ask.
They continued towards somewhere.
November 9, 10:31 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Winston and Mercy
Most of the time Winston was a team player, always using his abilities to assist the others however it doesn't mean he can stand out on his own. And one of those examples was when his epic battle against Doomfist happened.
They were near the Xi'an Railway Station which was going to be the site of a major amount of razers to burn it down.
Whenever they got within viewing distance they noticed a large amount of Chinese troops around it, ready to defend it against them.
"We better get out of here." Mercy advised.
"We stay until I say we go." Winston refuted.
"Gott verdammt." Mercy muttered.
Winston already had his Tesla Cannon out, ready to fight in.
"Were going to ensure it's still intact, even if it means fighting military forces." Winston explained.
November 9, 10:35 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Tracer/Genji/Pharah
They entered an area that was currently ablaze as a chance to get alot of the razers.
There was only one.
All of them rushed at it.
Pharah's speed was to low however she fired a Concussion Blast at them, it misses, fanning a little bit of the flames.
Smoke got into Tracer's face, causing her to slow down to avoid inhalation.
Genji was able to get past and managed to slice the razer's throat off with his wakazashi.
They continued forward with Pharah and Tracer wearing the oxygen masks to avoid smoke inhalation.
They went past a large pillar of smoke before noticing a large amount of Chinese soldiers and a few Chinese defenses and two WZ-551's.
The smoke cleared and the soldiers fired at them.
Tracer blinked to some cover and began returning suppressive fire for Genji.
Pharah takes cover.
Genji gets low, waiting for a window to ambush them.
"Tracer! Will you ensure their fire is diverted?" Pharah asked.
"I'm trying to, my pistols can't be firing for long bursts." Tracer replied as she'd continuing to fire and reload in two second bursts.
Genji got up and deployed both of his hands and crossed them, revealing ten shurikens. He'd take a few of the bullets before throwing all ten at them, killing four and seriously injuring more.
After a break, they converged until the soldiers continued firing.
Genji unsheathed his wakazashi. "Get behind me!" he'd ordered to both Tracer and Pharah.
He'd enter his deflection stance. "Chōdo shinjimae bakayarou." he'd said to the soldiers with anger. Reflecting their shots as fast as lightning, killing most of them. The rest cowarded in fear and retreated.
Genji was about to rush after them and kill them however Pharah and Tracer stopped him by grabbing both of his arms.
November 9, 10:50 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Lúcio and Mei
They ran across an urban area which was near a university campus.
Mei turned to the campus and entered it.
Lúcio followed behind.
The university was actually Xi'an Jiaotong University which Lúcio didn't pay attention to.
"Were are we going?" Lúcio asked.
"Jiaotong University." Mei replied.
November 9, 10:52 P.M CST
Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an
They crossed the entrance area.
"Are you sure we will find razers here?" Lúcio asked.
"I'm certain, if there going for areas of significance than a university would be on the list." Mei explained.
They turned to their right across Siyuan Road.
As they approached the next turn, Lúcio notices a choke point of Chinese soldiers.
"Choke point..." Lúcio said to Mei.
They both take cover without getting spotted.
"There's about four of them, but we don't have enough firepower to take them out from this distance." Lúcio said.
Mei was silent, thinking of methods that will work to get past them. "If they have control over a choke point, how will they have to move." Mei said to herself. Suddenly, an idea came to Mei.
She'd used her Endothermic Blaster to create a giant icicle the size of her armspan.
"Once Snowball has distracted them throw it into the air and turn it into snow." Mei explained to Lúcio, handing him the icicle.
She'd pull out Snowball. "Fēnsàn tāmen!" Mei ordered to Snowball. She'd then release Snowball to do it.
Snowball moved up into the air and created a block of literal ice cream that doesnt melt near them.
With the soldiers going for the ice cream Lúcio threw the icicle as it barely misses Snowball. He'd then uses a ranged version of Soundwave to burst the icicle to snow.
With them distracted with the ice cream the snow settled on the ground which then created a field that froze the soldiers.
Using that they rushed across the choke point.
Lúcio use it to punch a few of their heads which broke their heads like Sub Zero's ice powers.
"That was not nice." Mei said, chastising Lúcio punching them which ended their lives.
"They were a bad beat then." Lúcio replied in his defense.
November 9, 11:08 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Genji/Pharah/Tracer
Pharah was watching guard as Tracer and Genji were searching buildings for razers.
They exited with nothing found about the razers.
"This was plain rubbish to go in there." Tracer muttered to Genji after finding nothing.
Pharah landed down to both of them. "Found anything?" she'd ask.
"No, but we did found trends of someone called Hamidreza Entezami rallying gangs of razers to destroy historical sites." Genji replied.
Pharah gritted her teeth and clenched her fist. "So that son of a bitch is back at it again." Pharah said with anger.
"You mad at him or something?" Tracer asked.
"Of course I'm pissed!" Pharah replied with an infuriated tone.
"Let's focus on finding that person before she decides to break one of us." Genji said calmly.
They began to actively find Hamidreza.
November 9, 11:13 P.M CST
Xi'an Jiaotao University, Xi'an
They were in the process of clearing each segment of the university for razers and had to engage the PLA at times.
Both of them had taken out a few razers and a dozen of soldiers including an APC.
They had cleared the southern half of the university and are now proceeding to the northern half.
They went east and then south of Xinghuo road and into Zhuyuan road to begin searching again.
Lúcio stormed the ICBC building, catching no one.
They went further south and went around to the Zhongying College.
However they accidentally have gotten themselves into a choke point with fifteen razers waiting for them.
They converged on them however they stayed still until the first flame spewed.
Lúcio slided out of the encirclement.
Mei froze herself against the razers's wrath of flames. They failed to burn Mei alive.
Mei fired two icicles at one of the razers, it hits, taking out the razer.
"Sorry." Mei said, apologizing to the person she just knocked out.
Another razer disarmed Mei from her Endothermic Blaster which succeeded however Snowball retaliated aggressively by freezing the person. Mei takes back her Endothermic Blaster.
She'd fire an icicle at the razer who disarmed her. Causing its head to fall and bounce on the floor with an icicle through it.
"Serves you right!" Mei said loudly at the dead body of the person she just killed.
This pissed off almost all of them. They charged at Mei with anger.
She'd turn around, almost about to freeze herself in fear.
However Lúcio fired a few bursts of sound at them, it doesn't do alot of damage but it distracted a few of them.
He'd got close and used Soundwave, sending the rest flying.
"Thank you." Mei said to Lúcio.
"No problem." Lúcio replied.
November 9, 11:20 P.M CST
Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China
Winston and Mercy
After a while they managed to take the railway station free from the PLA after Winston caused havoc from fighting the four platoons of soldiers that were at the station.
Winston turned to Mercy. "Negotiate with the train operators to go to their destinations with their trains full of civilians free of charge, use force if necessary." Winston explained.
Mercy noded before entering the station.
Winston began working on a signal to the TV's in Xi'an to announce evacuations via train.
November 9, 11:24 P.M CST
Xi'an Railway Station, Xi'an
Train 1
Mercy entered the tain.
She'd moved to the side which was going to an eastern city.
After a minute or two of walking she entered the driver's car.
"Is anyone here?" Mercy asked.
The driver who was wearing a blue dress shirt with a back vest and a hat with yellow and red at its base of the head.
"Xià chē péiyang!" the driver ordered.
"You speak English?" Mercy asked.
"He means get off." said one of the conductors who was wearing the same thing as the driver but with the coat aswell.
Mercy pulled out her Caduceus Blaster and aimed it at the driver.
"Overwatch wants you and the crew of your train to please help evacuate civilians from the burning city your train is in right now." Mercy said in a negotiating tone.
"Guòdùkān zhe xiwang nin hé nin de huoche chéng wuyuán nenggou bangzhu nin jiang huoche cong mùqián zhengzai ránshao de chéngshi zhong cheli." the conductor translated to the driver.
Mercy pulled down her Caduceus Blaster however still had it in her hand.
"Rúguo ni gěi wo yī bi bùcuò de jīn'é, nàme women jiù youle jiāoyì." said the driver.
"We have a deal if you give me a good amount." the conductor translated to Mercy.
"Will it work if we gave you one-thousand yuan?" Mercy asked.
"Yīqiān gè rénmínbì gòu ma?" the conductor translated.
The driver said nothing and walked forward to Mercy. Holding his hand out for her to shake it.
They shake hands.
After a little bit the driver gave some information about him so they could give him the money later.
Mercy turned to the conductor.
"Another term of this is that the train is to leave when its full." Mercy said before leaving the train.
November 9, 11:32 P.M CST
Xi'an Railway Station, Xi'an
Train 2
Mercy entered the train.
Nothing happened.
She'd continued to the driver's car.
The driver was aware of Mercy's presence and pulled out a pistol.
Mercy pulled out her Caduceus Blaster. She'd approach the driver with caution as to not trigger him.
The driver fired a shot which missed Mercy.
Mercy fired a shot which hit the driver's pistol, damaging it.
The driver surrendered.
"Fine, what do you want." he'd ask with a heavy Chinese accent.
"We want you to use your train to evacuate civilians to the next major destination. And one term is to leave once it's full." Mercy explained.
"Okay..." The driver said.
Mercy left the train.
November 9, 11:37 P.M CST
Terracotta Army Museum, Xi'an
Tracer, Genji, and Pharah vs Mao Lingxin and Mao Wuying
Two people with bladed weapons, the siblings Mao Lingxin and Mao Wuying, appearing as Japanese students with Lingxin appearing as a male student while Wuying appearing as a female student. Lingxin had a double bladed cybernetic halberd while Wuying had a dao.
Right now Genji was busy engaging Wuying in blade to blade combat while Tracer and Pharah kept Lingxin busy until Genji could focus on him.
Tracer was up close, firing bursts from her Pulse Pistols however most of the time it gets deflected by his halberd.
Pharah was helping Tracer from a distance by firing rockets and throwing some of the terracotta's occasionally.
Tracer jumped above Lingxin. Lingxin counters by doing a fast spinning motion above himself. Tracer blinks out of the way and fires a burst from her Pulse Pistols. Lingxin rolls away from the burst.
Tracer reloads.
Lingxin charges and does a quick jab at Tracer. Tracer dodges it naturally. He'd follow up with slashing Tracer's right arm with the other side. Tracer takes the hit. He'd follow up with a kick to the air and then a spin above his head. Tracer takes the kick however the spin slashing of the halberd only caused slashes on her jacket which didn't hurt her.
Pharah fired a rocket at Lingxin. Lingxin takes it, causing him to get desperate against Tracer.
He'd sprint at Tracer. He'd then did many 360 degree waist level spin slashes near her. Tracer blinked away however he continued to do it.
Pressing her into the wall, he'd went faster. Tracer had to phase nonstop to try and get a few bursts of shots on the now desperate Mao Lingxin who was now going for no mercy.
Tracer's chronal accelerator overheated however she was ducking before it did so.
He was about to cut Lena in half vertically however Tracer grabbed the blade with her hands which her gloves were made of tough leather.
"What!" Lingxin said loudly with fear.
Tracer smiled arrogantly. "Learn to avoid your blade from turning into a me into a bloodana split!" Tracer said happily in a bad pun.
She'd kick Lingxin in the gut.
He'd drop the halberd before coughing some spit out on the floor.
"Damn you..." Lingxin growled. "DAMN YOU!" he'd yell.
Tracer's chronal accelerator came back on.
Lingxin gritted his teeth as he'd grab his halberd from the floor. "YOU DIE WITH ME!" he'd yell at the top of his lungs, throwing his halbred in a desperate attempt to kill Tracer.
It moved like a twister, flowing like wind, approaching Tracer quickly.
With her chornal accelerator, Tracer slowed time down for herself. Grabbing the blade.
Pharah was in shock of what Tracer was doing.
"Catch!" Tracer exclaimed as she'd throw it back but using chronal energy to make it come back at a fiercer rate.
It came fast enough and stabbed Lingxin with it halfway through his chest.
He'd cough out alot of blood.
"How is this possible, how did I loose?" Lingxin said to himself.
He'd got up and pulled the halberd out of his chest.
He'd was about to do another attack until he fell down due to blood loss.
He'd bled out, dying right there.
Genji and Wuyang clashed multiple times, sparks flying. Genji's Ryu-Ichimonji vs Wuyang's Hēixuè.
Wuyang went for a downward slash. Genji parrys it.
Genji counters with a back slash. Wuyang parrys it.
Genji follows up with a horizontal slash. Wuyang gets hit.
Wuyang turns around and does a double kick on Genji. Genji ducks and counters by throwing two shurikens at her upper back.
Using the opportunity Genji does a decapitation slash, beheading Wuyang.
Hamidreza suddenly appeared after the Orca shot him down from the sky. and into the terracotta museum.
"You have sealed your fate, Genji Shimada." he said with a serious tone.
"Mi wo sutetemo, myouri wa stuezu." Genji replied. opening his right arm with three shurikens and sheathing his blade.
November 9, 11:43 P.M CST
Terracotta Army Museum, Xi'an
Genji vs Hamidreza
Hamidreza deployed his wrist guns, firing at Genji. Genji outruns the shots, countering with a burst of three shurikens. Hamidreza blocks the shurikens which bounces off of his armor.
"So this guy's armour won't allow be damaged if use my shurikens alone... Kuso." Genji said to himself.
Hamidreza used Jump Jet and uses it to charge at Genji. Genji blocks, causing a part of the building to rip off of the structure.
Genji knees Hamidreza, following it up with a strong jab at his right pectoral and then a cross. Hamidreza takes Genji's combo.
Genji charges aggressively, unsheathing his wakazashi. He'd first slash towards his left theigh which Hamidreza blocks with his left hand's armor. He'd then slashes towards his right arm which misses. And then Genji frontflipped above Hamidreza and moves the wakazashi's position from icepick to hammer, doing a slash on Hamidreza's right bicep behind him. It does a dent in his armor.
Hamidreza turned around and does a downward heavy punch on Genji, Genji takes the hit.
Genji ignored the pain and blocked Hamidreza's karate chop and countered with a gut punch.
Hamidreza was incapacitated which gave Genji the time to prepare for a serious attack.
Hamidreza pulled out a cat o' thirty tails whip full of electrodes. He'd swing it once at Genji which could short circuit his body if it hits. Genji backflipped and fired another burst at Hamidreza. The burst did a dent and one richochihted into Hamidreza's helmet, hurting his forehead.
Hamidreza used his Raptora armor's jets to charge at Genji which always was causing alot of problems for Genji's body with it close to short circuiting every time the whip striked.
Hamidreza was finally able to hit Genji with most of the tails however the shuriken's shock destruction protocol activated, shocking Hamidreza, reversing the short curcit's effects on Genji.
Hamidreza gritted his teeth as he'd prepare to finish Genji off until...
"RYUJIN NO KEN WO KURAE!" Genji yelled as he'd unsheathe Ryu-Ichimonji to combat Hamidreza's whip.
Hamidreza in a last ditch effort did desperate strikes to stop Genji but to no avail.
Genji with speed as fast as lightning, the dragon prevailed and cut the whip's tails from the whip's handle.
Hamidreza gritted his teeth more. He'd deploy his rocket pods and fired a barrage of rockets which Genji deflected with no effort.
Genji did a few diagonal slashes at Hamidreza, seriously damaging his armor at the front.
Hamidreza dropped to were a group of terracotta's were.
Genji sheathed his blade again.
Hamidreza grabbed two terracotta's and threw them at Genji. Genji gets hit by them.
Hamidreza then uses Jump Jet and lariats Genji. Genji is sent flying.
Genji landed on the roof and charges at Hamidreza, doing Swift Strike on him.
Hamidreza coughs blood.
"You may have managed to wound me, but I never give up." Hamidreza announced to Genji.
Hamidreza sprints towards Genji, jumping above him and dropkicking him. Genji dodges.
Hamidreza deployed his wrist guns, firing at Genji. Genji gets hit by the barrage.
Genji held his arms towards the area that was his stomach. "Damn." he said in a low tone.
Genji got up and charged at Hamidreza.
Genji did a kick to Hamidreza's face. Hamidreza blocks it and counters with a leg throw. Genji recovers quickly and does a barrage punches and kicks, Hamidreza blocks them. and counters with a suplex.
Hamidreza revealed his rotary pulse cannon.
"Kuso." Genji said in a low tone.
Hamidreza fired the cannon.
Genji rushed out of its way for most of the time however wasn't able to continue competing with Hamidreza with it. He'd turn around and unsheathed Ryu-Ichimonji and entered his deflection stance.
"Back at you." Genji said to Hamidreza, deflecting the shots, causing them to go across the entire museum, destroying the structure and the terracotta's themselves.
Hamidreza now knowing that a prolonged fight with Genji will not be desirable he'd decided to leave.
"Until we meet again." Hamidreza announced before leaving the area.
"Let's continue forward." Tracer said with confidence to help Genji back up.
The battle at Xi'an was only beginning, the fiercest has yet to come.
And our heroes will reach their breaking point by the end.
November 10, 12:17 A.M CST
Somewhere in Shaanxi Province, China
A pink MEKA unit landed in a field.
A female came out of it.
She'd pull out a map of China.
She'd sigh. "Looks like I'm in Shaanxi Province right now." she said. She'd smile. "Soon I get to help them out." she said before reentering the MEKA unit and taking off again.
Translations:
Gott verdammt(German): God dammit.
Chōdo shinjimae bakayarou(Japanese): Just go to hell assholes.
