Dawn slumps down in a chair at the police station with her arms crossed over her chest, hating everything and everyone in the world but mostly hating Nina and Carl.
She straightens up once she sees two men wearing long black rain dusters rushing towards the young female soldier that was assigned to watch her until her stepfather got there.
"Probably feds", she mumbles.
The three of them begin staring at Dawn from a distance.
She can't really recall the last time her and Vincent committed any federal crimes so Dawn's a bit confused as to why federal agents would be staring at her.
Given the level of illegal activity her family were always involved, she's not a big fan of anyone that's carrying a badge.
However, this time things were very different.
Vincent nearly died after being stabbed by Carl earlier that morning.
As much as she wants to give these federal agents a hard time she wants Nina and Carl to pay for her brother getting stabbed more.
Victoria escorts Dawn to an empty interrogation room.
"Am I under arrest or something?", Dawn asks.
She's led by the forearm to a table with chairs on either side.
Not long after Shane and Gareth enter the room as Victoria exits, closing the door behind her.
Shane turns the chair around so the back leans against the table.
He straddles the chair, crosses his arms along the top and sits down while gawking at Dawn.
Gareth stands in back of Shane recording the conversation on the phone in his pocket.
"So…I want you to tell me exactly what you told the officers earlier at the hospital", Shane explains.
"Again", she questions, "Why do you care? In fact who the hell are you guys?"
"I'm agent Walsh and the gentleman in back of me is Agent Paul", both men flash their badges fast enough for Dawn to not know whether they were real badges or even agents.
"Lookie here, you said something about a young boy being with this female friend of yours from school is that right?"
Dawn nods her head yes.
"And you said something about the boy's name being Carl is that right?"
She furrows her brow, "Why do you guys care?"
Shane starts getting annoyed with Dawn's questions, "You know what? I don't care. What I do care about is the first and last name of the girl that this 'Carl' was with."
"Hold up", she doesn't want to pass up on Carl getting arrested, 'It was Carl who stabbed my brother, I was right there when it happened."
He taps the top of the table and does a half smirk and laugh, "So you're gonna tell me that this 'Carl' person was riding in the back of your brother's car then out of nowhere decides to stab him in the belly, is what you're telling me?"
Dawn gets upset because she can hear the skepticism in his voice "Yes, that's right. My brother didn't provoke him at all. Vince was giving all of us a ride to school."
"So you mean to tell me that your brother, the town meth-head didn't do anything to bring on this type of assault. Like maybe he tried to touch your friend from school or something?"
Shane places his hand out in back of himself waiting for Gareth to place something in his hand.
Gareth places Nina's purse in Shane's hand.
Shane presents the purse to Dawn, "Is this the purse of your school friend", he looks around in the purse then pulls out a school I.D., "Nina Har-jos? Is this hers? Because this purse was at the scene when the ambulance came for your brother."
"The EMT people said that the your brother's truck was in no way headed in the direct of Escambia Middle a-and they said that there was a heavy smell of what had to be corn liquor permeating throughout the interior of the vehicle."
The interrogation room goes silent as Shane waits for Dawn to respond.
"So you're really gonna tell me that this stabbing wasn't provoked? Because I plan to talk with Ms. Har…" he checks the school I.D. again, "...Harjos and I'd be quite curious as to what she recalls from this morning's events."
Dawn jumps up and starts spilling everything that happened that morning. How her brother threatened her if she didn't go along with bullying Nina in to drinking the corn liquor and Nina was supposed to be alone but Vince was only trying to scare her by keeping her in the truck.
Shane gets up ignoring Dawn's excuses for her and her brother's actions, "Get me an address on Ms. Harjos", he hands the I.D. and purse back to Gareth.
Dawn stops talking before Shane and Gareth leave out the interrogation room, "Wait, what about my brother. He was still stabbed. He's still in the hospital".
Before shutting the interrogation door Shane meanly whispers to Dawn, "Sounds like you brother is a real piece of shit and got exactly what he deserved".
"I don't see any bite marks on her", Rosita looks down at Sophia laying in the one of the guest bedroom of the main house.
"Hopefully that 600mg of Motrin will kick in and get rid of that fever", Wynona responds.
The two leave the room, "What are we gonna do Auntie? If that woman has been bit…" she shakes her head, "…I don't know. Maybe they should just take her to a hospital."
"Rosita, you saw what the hospital was like? Besides, they wouldn't know what to do with her anyway."
"Noni if she turns…"
"What do you want me to do Rosie", Wynona whispers, "Tell them they have to leave? Right now, while there family is in a crisis? One woman about to give birth, a sick child who hopefully only has a cold and mother who's probably dying?"
"I can't do that", she walks toward the stairs, "I'm gonna go and check on the rest of our guests."
