At first it hadn't really bothered him, but as time went on there was a pain in his chest that wouldn't fade. At first he hadn't recognized it, now he knew that the pain was caused by none over than the fortress of Ikebukuro, Shizuo Heiwajima and he still didn't know why.

No that was a lie, he did know. Sitting in the passenger seat, Kadota pulled down his hat and closed his eyes. This was his everyday, sitting inside the van, listening to the hum of the engine as Togusa drove around. Occasionally he would hear cursing and the crunch of a foot on the pedal as whoever had cut them up was chased down for touching his friend's precious possession.

Today was such a day, thrown back against his seat he opened one eye and glanced to the side, seeing that Togusa was gripping the steering wheel, gritting his teeth. Looking out of the window he could see a black sports car racing along the road. "You won't get away!" Nothing changed. "Slow down." Holding out his hands in a peaceful gesture he tried to calm the driver down.

There was a thud behind him, followed by a loud squeal. The two occupants in the back regained their balance, Karisawa gripping onto the corners of their seats. "Go Togusacchi! You can catch him. This reminds me of that manga we read the other day. Right Yumacchi?" Her partner in crime nodded, trying to pile their books back up, from where they had scattered.

His attention was diverted when he saw a flash of black, a loud yell piercing the air, even with the windows closed. "Iiiizzaaaayaaa!" Sure enough the voice was followed up with a vending machine flying through the air. "Look look, its Shizu-shizu and Iza-Iza! They look so good together." Once again he had to put up with the otaku's boys love theory about his two friends. Or used to be friends. Now he wasn't sure.

He spent nearly all day everyday in the van, protecting everyone as members of the colourless gang Dollars. Inside were his three friends and fellow gang members. Outside the metal contraption was the blond he had known since high school. "Togusa slow down. He's already gone." Thanks to Izaya and Shizuo it was impossible to go any further.

Once the van had been stopped, he opened the door, stepping out as he fixed his beanie hat. So close and yet so far. As he moved closer the two enemies spotted him. "Ah! Dotachin. I'd love to catch up, but Shizu-chan is trying to kill me." Even so the informant laughed antagonizing Shizuo further.

Izaya Orihara. Since the pair had met in high school, they had been enemies. Even if he was a part of their original friends, when the raven teased the blond, everything was already wrecked. Even after school had finished and they had all left, The two continued their violent routine, allowing no one else to interfere. As far as he knew they hated each other. His chest ached at the thought of Karisawa's theory being true.

The pair were already long gone, a path of destruction in their wake. It was a waste of energy trying to keep up. Still it was hot and after long periods of time the van became stuffy. Sticking his hands in his pocket, he walked in the opposite direction, avoiding the stop signs embedded in the road. It wasn't long before he spotted another familiar face. The man with dreadlocks hadn't noticed him.

Tom Tanaka. A very old friend of Shizuo's. Someone that the blond respected, a sempai older than them. Even after everything that happened with his temper, the man still stepped in and offered Shizuo a job. He had helped, when the blond had no one. Tom was his boss. Next to him was a petite girl with long blonde hair.

Vorona. A girl younger than them who had barely known Shizuo. She had arrived less than a year ago and already the pair were friends and maybe even something beyond that. She was another one that wasn't scared. And although it was a good thing that some people liked Shizuo, it left a sour taste in his mouth.

As he turned back, he could see that the van was parked crookedly on the pavement, the back doors were wide open. Shaking his head, he moved quicker knowing that he shouldn't have left his gang alone. "How many times have I told you. No fire in the van!" Togusa was standing by the doors, shouting at the pair. "Dotachin. You're back." Karisawa left the charred book where it was, running towards him.

They stopped for a while, the petrol on the van being refilled, whilst he confiscated the matches the troublesome pair had got hold of. "We're all good to go." It didn't take long, Togusa hopping back into the driver's seat and then they were on their way.

The sun had long ago set, making him wonder if Izaya and Shizuo had finished their chase. He received his answer as a familiar blond was caught in the van's headlights. Shizuo raised a hand, crossing the road. His fists clenched seeing the blood dripping from dyed blond locks. Looking in the direction his friend was going in, he knew straight away where he would go.

Shinra Kishitani. Another old friend from high school. A scientist with weird hobbies, that had constantly asked if he could dissect the blond. Now he was the one that patched the pair of enemies up after their fights. Shinra had Celty, so there was no way he would see Shizuo as anything other than a friend.

So where did that leave him? Back in high school he had been the quietest in their little group of friends, he had sat back and watched as the blond got further and further away from him. This sucked. Yanking his hat down over his eyes, Kadota crossed his arms, not wanting to see any more. It seemed like fate had other plans for him.

Three times in one day. This time he knew that the blond was heading home. "Look its Shizu-Shizu!" Opening his door, he waited until Togusa stopped before getting out. Izaya, Tom, Vorona, Shinra, Celty, Kasuka and even Simon, they all had their roles in Shizuo's life. Each of them had a sole reason to be there. So what about him?

Damn. It was getting worse. Hurrying out, he easily caught up with the man that affected him so much. "Shizuo!" The blond turned and gave a small wave. "Kadota. This is the third time today?" What? So Shizuo had noticed him this morning. "Yeah. What's wrong?" Shizuo looked stressed out, an unlit cigarette between him lips.

"Stupid lighter broke. No doubt it was the flea's fault." Flea. A nickname, just like he was Dotachin. Surely that was a term of endearment? Rummaging in his pocket he pulled out the box of confiscated matches and handed them over. "Here use these." Shizuo took them from him, a small smile replacing that usual frown. "Thanks."

They walked in silence, except for the occasional exhale, a thin line of smoke rising every time. "Kadota. You've been weird lately. Anything I can do?" Tugging at his hat, he let out a sigh. "Why would you want to?" What are we? "Because we're friends." Shoving his hat into his pocket, he stopped, staring at the blond.

"Are we? Everyone has their place in your life. Izaya is your enemy, Shinra is your doctor, Tom and Vorona are your work mates. So what am I? Or is it just a friend? We haven't changed at all from high school." It was too late to continue their conversation. They were already standing outside Shizuo's apartment. "Can we continue this inside?"

It had been a long time since he had even step foot inside the blond's apartment. The door closed behind him, giving him a chance to look around. The apartment was well looked after, the furniture all looked new. "Kasuka brought everything." Now he got it. There were no holes because Shizuo didn't want to let his little brother down, his anger was solely focused on Izaya.

"Do you want a drink?" Shaking his head he took a seat on the sofa. Shizuo came back with two glasses of milk handing one to him. "Just like old times." Taking a sip, he held the glass in both hands. "Yeah." Now that he was here, he couldn't think of anything to say. "I don't see you as a friend Kadota." The glass nearly slipped out of his grasp. "Then what are we?"

"Do you remember back in school, you were always the one trying to stop me from going after the flea? You would stay and watch over us and once everything was over, you would be standing there with a carton of strawberry milk." The glass was removed from his hand and placed on the table. "Shit. You have- I need a cigarette."

Shizuo got up to leave, his cheeks reddened. Reaching out Kadota gently wrapped his fingers around the embarrassed blond's wrist. "Please, finish what you were saying." He knew what the feeling was inside his heart, he could only hope that Shizuo felt the same. "You never backed down either." No and he wouldn't this time, not when he was so close to getting an answer.

"You have always been...special to me." Pulling on the wrist he was holding, Kadota was surprised when there was no resistance, the blond falling to his knees, so that they were eye level. Caressing the soft cheek, he held their gaze. "Shizuo. I love you." leaning forward, he brushed his lips against something warm and soft, making him smile. Shizuo hadn't dodged him.

Just as quickly, his head shot back as he backed away. "Sorry." The frown the blond usually wore was gone, that sincere smile was definitely illegal. "The bedroom. We can...continue." Really he was adorable, just like always. No matter what Izaya did, the raven couldn't corrupt the true Shizuo. "If you're sure."

The bed was large and looked comfy, pillows were neatly scattered against the head board. "Your little brother really cares about you." Shizuo nodded, laying back on the bed. "Do you want me to get undressed?" Unzipping his dark green jacket, Kadota let it fall behind him, climbing onto the bed. "No, you're fine like that." Moving closer, he pulled his own top over his head, giving Shizuo a view of his chest. As he reached down and undid his belt, the blond touched him gently exploring his skin.

Hardly believing that this was happening, he slipped his hands underneath Shizuo's shirt, brushing along the smooth skin. He was the only one who would ever get this close. "You know what to do?" How could he not? His ears were still burning red from Karisawa's graphic description of what she thought the pair of enemies got up to. "I know enough." No, he knew way to much. "What about you?"

In response he was pulled closer on top of Shizuo, who began to kiss him, soft and warm lips meeting his own. He let out a small groan as his lower lip was licked an nibbled upon, a hot tongue sliding between his parted lips. His own wet muscle joined in, welcoming the blond into his mouth. As much as he wanted to see what his lover looked like, his eyes had slipped shut, enjoying the sensation.

Shizuo's shirt rode up as he moved his hands further up, finding the perky nubs, a smile touched his face as he realized that they were already both aroused. Tweaking one between his finger and thumb, he drank in the small moan that left the blond's mouth. Neither one of them spoke, their lips locked and neither one breaking away.

Kadota grew impatient, wanting to get rid of the shirt, but not wanting to break apart for a single second. Opening his eyes in frustration, his pants tightened seeing the expression below him. Shizuo's cheeks were flushed, his eyes closed in bliss. One by one he undid the shirt buttons, knowing that it was from Kasuka.

Finally coming up for air, the pair kicked off the rest of their clothes, neither one shy about doing so. His cock bounced as he removed his boxers and he could see Shizuo was in the same state. "Do you mind if I leave marks?" His gaze was fixed on the horizontal scar. The scar Izaya had given him. "Go ahead."

Pushing Shizuo against the head board, he moved in between the toned long legs, kissing him again, this time it was shorter, moving away from those kiss swollen lips, Kadota peppered them along his jawline, moving down his throat, along his collar bone. Every inch he wanted to mark as his own. His hands moved freely, working at the hardened length. "Ah!" The small sound came from both of them as Shizuo gave him the same treatment.

His lips moved down to the scar that irritated him, biting down, he tasted something metallic as he broke the skin. Shit. Pulling away he looked into mocha eyes. "Its fine, Kadota. Do what you want. I'll do the same." He was quickly losing his mind as callused fingers stroked him. "Shizuo." Wiping away the small drips of blood, he made similar marks over the long horizontal scar. "Kyohei." He nearly came there right there and then.

The scar was now covered with five red circles. "Say my name again." Happy with his marks, he moved down stroking at the length in his hand, already the tip was leaking. A few more movements from base to tip and Shizuo was ready to cum, crying out his name. "Nn Kyohei! So close!" As was he. The hand around his shaft had stopped moving. "Shit. Shizuo." He exploded as the blond squeezed his hand, unaware he was doing so.

Both of them broke away, covered in each other's fluid, panting as they tried to come back down. "Do you want to continue?" Shizuo yanked him forward, crashing their lips together. Using the white stickiness on his hand, he moved his fingers down the crack of the blond's ass. The man underneath him shivered as he slipped a finger past the virgin ring. Ending the kiss, he rested his forehead on his sturdy shoulder, pushing another one inside the tight heat.

Adding a third, Kadota worked all three inside, getting the blond ready for what he was going to do. "Hurry up." Feeling the same impatience, all three digits were pulled loose. Without warning he sheathed himself inside, groaning as the walls clenched against his arousal. "Ah. Relax." For a second he panicked as those strong arms wrapped around his neck. "Move."

Pulling back, he thrust back in using all of his strength, changing angles, trying to find that little pleasure button that Karisawa referred to every time. "There. Do that again." Now he had somewhere to focus on. Spreading Shizuo's legs further apart, he moved deeper, pressing the blond's back against the headboard. He listened to every sound that left his lover, obeyed every demand he was given. "Faster." His blunt nails dug into a toned leg, as he used it for leverage, launching himself forward and hitting that little target with pinpoint accuracy.

"Nn more... Kyohei..." Shizuo was quickly becoming lost, everything was focused on him. Right now he was the only one that existed in those mocha eyes. "Ah Shizuo. You feel so good." He could feel everything slipping. Nothing mattered any more. Their words were broken, neither one had any semblance of control any more. The bed creaked under their movements, their skin slapped together as he moved deeper.

"Kyohei!" Reaching his free hand down, he tugged at the hardened length, knowing at any moment Shizuo would finish. Sending him over the edge, he groaned as the blond shuddered around him, the channel around him became constricting. His rhythm collapsed, instead thrusting balls deep and tensing as he filled Shizuo with his seed. Pulling out, he fell back against the bed, both of them breathing heavily. "That was..." Closing his eyes he smiled, feeling the same. "Yeah."

"Dotachin!" Flinching at the voice by his ear, Kadota yanked his hat off, smoothing back his gelled hair. "What?" He had just been in the middle of a nice dream. "Look look. Its Shizu-Shizu and Iza-Iza! Izaya is being shy again, running away from the one he loves..." Tuning Karisawa out, he looked out of the window screen, seeing that Shizuo had stopped, signpost in his hand, looking in their direction. It looked like he was reaching into his pocket. Seconds later his phone beeped in his pocket.

Taking out the device, he flipped it open away from prying eyes. He had one new message. See you tonight. When he looked up again, Shizuo was gone, screaming Izaya's name. Snapping his phone closed, Kadota returned it to his pocket, his fingers brushing against the key in his pocket. The spare key to his lover's apartment.
