It's been one day, four hours and ten minutes since I saw you last. I told you I would keep my distance but it's very hard. You once said you don't know anything about me and that's the truth. So here goes, my mother gave me up when I was a baby and I had to raise myself. I just recently found her and have begun to form a bond with her. That is just one thing, but it's one thing more than you knew before.

I saw you today in the library. You were with some guy. I wanted to say something to you but I stayed away. I don't know what it is but there is something not right about the guy you have been seeing. I know you won't let me protect you, but I talked to Hook and he knows what's going on between us now. Let him protect and help you if you won't let me.

When I was younger I met hook in the enchanted forest and we sailed around together for many years. He is a very good friend of mine. I trust him and you can to. So there, now you know two things about me.

I slide the letters under her door every day for the past couple of days.

It's been a week since that day in the park and my heart in numb in my chest. All of the sudden there is a sharp pain in my heart. I sit up quickly and look around.

(Mate is in pain. She is hurting.)

I jump up and run out of the apartment before realizing I don't know where she is. I stop and close my eyes trying to feel her. I go into the diner in a hurry; Red is sitting at the counter chatting with Emma and David.

"Mom, Emma you have to help me!" I yell and they look over at me worried.

"What is it babe?" Mom asks and I run over grabbing her and Emma's hands to pull them up.

"Something's wrong with Rapunzel, she's in trouble. You have to help me get her!" I exclaim and we run out of the diner.

I take off running fallowing the pull I am getting from her pain. I jog down the street before turning and running down a road that puts me in front of the warehouse at the docks.

(She's in there)

-Rapunzel-

Mario has me strapped down to this bed. He stalks closer to me and attached some little wires to my head and chest.

I thought he was a good guy. I have been using him to try and get over Dani. We got close in the last week we have been together.

"What do you want from me?" I croak out

"Your magic, mine was taken away from me when I came to this world. You have an untapped amount of power in you and I'm going to take it." Her says coldly with no feelings in his eyes.

I fight and struggle against the ropes holding me down. I watch him closely as he moves over and flicks the switch on the machine.

My body lights up in pain and an earth shattering scream breaks out of my throat and bounces around the room. I don't know how much time has passed since he started the machine on me.

I need Dani, please come get me baby. I'm so sorry I pushed you away.

A few moments later he turns the machine off and I fall limply against the bed. He walks over and stands over me.

"Let her go!" the door flies open and Dani comes storming in. my lips quirk up in a small smile at the sight of her.

"Who are you?" Mario looks over at her shocked.

"Her mate you son of a bitch." Dani screams and I don't think I have ever seen anything so beautiful in my whole life.

"Let her go now, last chance." Dani snarls

Mario shakes his head and pulls a gun out before pointing it at Dani. My breath catches in my throat and I clinch my fists.

"No, don't hurt her. Please." I whimper

"Shh sweetheart its okay." Dani looks around Mario at me, soothing me with her eyes.

Everything in the next few moments is in slow motion. I can hardly process what's happening when Dani jumps forward towards Mario. Dani shifts into a large wolf in the air and I scream.

What the hell?

Dani pins Mario to the ground snarling at him and that is the last thing I see before falling into un-consciousness.

-3rd person-

Red runs over to Rapunzel and unties her while David and Emma pulls Dani off Mario. Dani moves over to Rapunzel she whines and nudges Rapunzel's hand with her nose.

Emma cuffs Mario while David walks over and picks up Rapunzel. They all make their way out of the warehouse to David's truck.

"Dani shift back." Red says but Dani just lays her head on Rapunzels stomach and whines.

They get to the hospital and the doctors take Rapunzel away. When Dani tries to fallow the doctors they stop her and she growls.

Red moves behind her and pulls her back from the doors. Dani whimpers and walks over to where Emma is standing. Emma runs her hands over Dani's fur.

Several hours pass and Dani still hasn't shifted back. Red has tried yelling at her and reasoning with her but she won't shift back.

Finally the doctors come back and say that Rapunzel is stable and they can see her. Red opens the door and motions for Dani to go in.

Dani bounds over to the bed and nudges her hand with her nose before licking it. Dani carefully climbs up on the bed and lies down next to her mate. Rapunzels hand wraps its way into Dani's fur sub-consciously.

-Outside of the room-

"Red we have to get Dani to shift back its been days." Emma exclaims and red massages her head.

"She won't shift because she is worried about protecting Rapunzel. We can't push her it won't work." Red says and Emma just says looking through the glass into the hospital room.

Dani is lying up on the bed next to Rapunzel in wolf form. Her head is lying on Rapunzels shoulder and Emma can see Rapunzel's hand on the wolf.

-Dani-

I wake up with a pain in my neck. I look around and see that I am lying next to Rapunzel. I guess I shifted back at some point. I slowly sit up and look down at the beautiful woman next to me. I run my finger down her jaw before leaning forward and kissing her head.

"Hey beautiful I'm here, I love you baby. I am never leaving you again; I won't let anyone hurt you ever again."
