"Harrison, we need to discuss our last resort." I said. We were sitting at the table over coffee, Tulne and ash were located on the couch, so I suppose it was rather good I had a habit of 'Harrison' instead of 'Khan'. "What would that be?" he asked. I took a deep breath. "It is if we absolutely cannot get out of the house in time." "And?" "It would be, just to tell my family, and hope for the best."
He was silent for a good few minutes. "How close are we to having to use that plan?" "Well, all our other options won't work, and it's very slim that we will be able to get that place in time. So it's a very real possibility." I said grimly, biting my bottom lip. He nodded, looking at the table. "So, worst case scenario, we tell them and RUN FOR OUR LIVES." I joked. The sad part was, it was only partly a joke. And partly the truth.
He laughed, but underneath that laughter was a serious tone. We both know that if we did not get out soon, we would be in serious trouble. "What is going on with getting the apartment? I thought we were outbid." "well, we were, but the real estate lady is looking for another place across town for us."
I explained to him what she had said to me, and he listened, thinking deeply. "And are you sure we cannot stay with Tulne?" he asked. "We could…. But it would raise too many questions. Plus, she lives in London, and her mother would most certainly recognize you." I shook my head. "That is a good point, I had forgotten about her mother." He said with some regret. "Yeah." I clipped, I was not in a good mood.
My pager rang, causing us both to start a little. I picked it up, answering it. "Hello?" "Kida! Its mom!" "hey mom, what's up?" I asked, signaling to the others to be quiet. "Oh, I was just calling to check in. just a few more weeks and we get to see you again! I am so excited, I haven't seen you in forever it feels like! How is my baby girl? how has your summer been, and ash? I know her trip was prolonged. Not throwing any wild parties are you?" she joked. I laughed.
"no, no wild parties. Ash and I are just fine, it does seem like forever doesn't it?" "that's good to hear sweetheart. Gosh, I can't wait to see you." "yeah…" "hmm? What's wrong sweetie?" she asked. "Huh? Nothing. " "Are you sure?" " yes, I am sure." I lied. " Ok then. Well, I got to go now, we are going to the country side. Love you!" she ended the connection before I could reply. "I love you too mom." I said to the silence at the other end. I shut the pager, dropping in on the table. "ughhh." I rubbed my temples, getting medicine from the bathroom. It didn't help.
I LOVE YOU ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL
