Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight.
"So?"
I looked over at Rosalie to find her watching me closely while I swirled a spoon through my Greek yogurt.
"So what?" I asked her with a shrug before taking a spoonful of yogurt in my mouth while ignoring the smart ass smirk that graced her face.
"This is the big weekend, huh?"
"No," I shot back, trying my best to down play what she was implying with her haughty smirk.
"You don't meet the 'rents this weekend?" she teased while I rolled my eyes in response.
"Ha," I snorted to her wicked grin. "If you are talking about Edward's mom and dad I met them six years ago so no."
"Yeah, but this is the first time you're showing up at their house as Edward's girlfriend, so…"
"I'm not his girlfriend," I chuckle nervously causing her to laugh at me once more.
"Yeaaahh," she mocked before popping a cherry tomato in her mouth while I shook my head at her since I knew what was coming.
"Where did you sleep last night?"
She knew I had slept at Edward's like I had countless nights before.
"What does it matter where I slept," I replied in a haughty tone that made the older woman laugh loud and gleefully.
"It was at Slugger's place, right?" she teased knowing damn well that I had.
"Yes, but…"
"No buts Bella," she began only to fall silent. It was the same perplexed silence that came whenever Jasper appeared. I turned to find him hovering in the door way just like he had each day since finding him at Edward's place after our talk.
"Hey Jas," I called out weakly only to be greeted with silence as he entered the room with rushed movements. I watched as he pulled a can of diet from the community fridge before turning and walking out.
"So that's still going on," Rose commented as I watched my friend walk out on me once more.
"Yeah, I don't get it," I mumbled as I continued to stare until he disappeared from my sight.
"He likes you," she commented out loud, telling me her theory on Jasper and his asshole behavior for what had to be the hundredth time.
"Of course he does," I mumbled as I tossed my half eaten yogurt away. "We've been friends forever."
"You know what I mean," she said with a dark look reminding me that we had the conversation about her theory of Jasper being in love with me. She was wrong, not that she ever listened to me. Jasper didn't love me like that. He never had. He just hated not being the center of my world. I knew him well enough to know that it was true.
"I do, but I also know that you're wrong," I reminded her as I stood up to leave the room.
AN:
Thanks for reading!
I wanted to say that I was sorry about the delay on this chapter. I have no excuse for it except that real life has gotten in the way.
