Hello, my readers! Thank you for sticking around , and reading my story this far! I'm so glad you enjoy it! I want to do a bit of a time jump to move the story along. Alaina is in her fourth month of pregnancy, and Jax is still running drugs for Romeo, without Alaina knowing.. yet ;). Please enjoy, and let me know what you think!

I unplugged the straightner, and rolled up the wire around the base of it.

I opened one of the draws on my side of the bathroom, and placed it inside. I pulled out the yellow measuring tape and my square oversized brush.

I looked up in the mirror, using my hand to break through the steam since Jax was currently in the shower. I ran the brush through my freshly straightened locks. When I approved of it, I put the brush down on the counter, and grabbed both sides of the measuring tape, wrapping it around my rapidly growing belly.

I have been doing this everyday since my first sonogram. While doing so each day, I realized a pattern. My stomach grows about 3-4 inches every two and a half weeks. Don't even get me started on my breasts. Pretty soon, I'll make Dolly Parton look flat chested. I asked Dr. Evans if everything was normal. She assured me it was, and told me not to worry. But, it seems like I'm way too big for four months. I've been eating right, and I do prenatal exercises. Okay fine, you caught me in a tiny lie. I do have the occasional bag of Lay's barbecue chips for lunch or that pint of Ben and Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream at four in the morning. But, what pregnant woman doesn't induldge in sinful foods throughout her pregnancy?

As I closed the yellow tape around my body, I just laughed at myself.

Three and a half inches bigger.

Jax opened the shower door, and grabbed the towel off the rack.

"I'm guessing it's four again."

I removed the tape from around me, dropping it back in the draw, and leaned against the counter, facing him.

"Nope. Three and a half inches this month. I don't know babe, I think this child is immortal to be growing this fast."

He smiled, and wrapped his towel around his naked waist, stepping out of the shower. His hand lightly grabbed my chin, pulling me in for a kiss.

"I can't wait to see what baby Larson-Teller is going to look like."

I raised my eyebrow.

"Larson-Teller?"

"Yeah. Until we get married one day, I figured you would want to do the whole hyphen thing."

"Aww, thank you, but it's not necessary. I want our baby to have your last name and only your last name. Sound like a plan?"

"Yes, mam."

He leaned in for another kiss, but I interrupted by talking.

"Oh, remember we have an appointment today at three."

"I wouldn't miss it. Now, can I kiss you?"

"Permission granted."

He moved his hands around my waist, preparing me for a mind blowing kiss.

We both opened our eyes at the same time, and grinned ear to ear.

"I better head out."

Jax's grip on my body tightened, his strong, wet body pressing harder against me.

"No, you don't have to. You can stay."

"I do. Jarry is gonna have my ass if I'm late. Neeta took Abel to the park. I gave her some cash for lunch for her and Abel."

"Ah, I was wondering why it was so quiet when woke up this morning."

I chuckled, remembering that Abel makes sure to Jump on his father as soon as his eyes open for the day.

"He's his daddy's son. Loves causing trouble. We might have to lock him up when he's a teenager. Girls love a bad boy."

When I got to work, I headed straight to my desk. I removed my coat, and hung it up on the back of my office chair.

Before I sat down, I looked around the station, noticing something was off.

There was hardly any cops in the station.

Where the hell is everybody?

Sandra, one of our receptionists, was organizing the paperwork on her desk.

"Hey Sandy, where is everyone?"

"Oh, they're at a crime scene right now. Two delivery trucks were blown up about ten minutes before you walked in. Jarry had everyone go. "

"God damn."

"Yeah, tell me about it."

Cops didn't start strolling in till a couple hours later. Sam, my partner, came up to my desk.

"Hey, preggers."

I looked up from my work and smiled.

"Hey. How'd it go? What happened?"

"A couple eyewitnesses saw a car drive up next to each delivery truck, throwing grenades through the trucks' windows. "

"Why?"

"Well, they weren't just any delivery trucks, Alaina. They were hauling cocaine in each of em."

"Holy shit."

"My guess is someone wasn't very fond of the supplier. DEA is at the scene now."

"What about a drug cartel? Are there any known ones in the area? Could be a rival who was pissed about the coke being sold on their turf."

"Jarry is thinking the same thing. I swear, shit never eases up in this town. I'll catch you later."

"Yeah, sure."

"Fuck!"

Jax picked an empty beer bottle that was on the counter and threw it against the back wall of scoops, causing it to shatter all over the floor.

"Who the hell knew about the delivery, Jackie?," Chibs asked, hoping to calm his president.

"I don't know. What I do know is Romeo is going to have my ass for this. His buyers are expecting it later today."

"You want me to let him know?"

"No. No, I need to do it. "

"Jax, I've been telling you for months, we need to pull out of this shit. It was only a matter of time before something like this would happen."

"We can't pull out, Chibs."

"Why not? Don't get me wrong the money is good, but it's not worth dying over."

"Parada works for the CIA, Chibs. He can have all of our asses locked up until my kids have kids. The asshole has got his hooks in this club, and I don't know how to get em out."

"Jesus."

"Yeah. I need to fix this."

"You will. Because we are behind you, brother."

He nodded, and took out his cellphone.

I waited outside Dr. Evans office for Jax.

I looked at my watch.

4:00.

He's never late for a sonogram.

I called him again, praying he would answer this time.

"Hey, babe. I'm coming out of the elevator now."

I glanced down the hallway, and hung up my phone.

He looked frazzled, and he gave me a hard kiss on the lips.

"Hey, what's wrong?," I grabbed his arm before he walked inside.

"I'm fine."

" You are far from fine. What is wrong?"

"Just work complications."

He headed into the office, not wanting to be pressed any further.

"Sorry I was late, doc."

"It's fine, it happens. Alaina, you can go get changed, and we will see how the little guy or gal is doing."

I nodded, and headed to the bathroom, dying to know what was wrong with Jax.

After, I got changed, Jax helped me up on the bed, and I laid down.

I touched his face, hoping his worried expression would fade. He did his best to hide it, and he kissed my hand.

Dr. Evans poured the cool blue gel on my stomach, spreading it with the doplar.

"Okay, let's see if the baby is in better position this time so I can tell what the sex is."

"You can just tell me, doc. Alaina wants it to be a surprise."

"You got it."

"Huh."

"What is it? Is there something wrong with the baby?," I asked with panic in my voice.

"No, your babies are just fine."

"Babies?", my eyes widened.

My eyes studied the screen. holy shit. There really is two babies inside me.

"Yup. The one baby was hiding behind the other during your last check up. You're going to be parents of twins. Congratulations. Jax, I can tell you the babies' sex in my office."

She printed out the picture and handed it to me, leaving the room.

"Okay, thank you."

Any worry that was on his face earlier was gone, and replaced with happiness.

"Looks like we need to buy two of everything."

Absolutely. But, I still want to know what else is going on in that head of yours."

"I'll tell you. I promise," he lied. How was he going to tell her the truth without her losing her mind, causing her to leave? No, he wasn't going to risk that.

"You better. You should know I don't ease up when it comes to people I care about."

"I know, darlin'." I'll be right back. I'm going to talk to the doctor. Get dressed, I'll take you out to eat after this."

He gave me a quick peck, and went into Dr. Evans's office two doors down.

Jax stepped in, waiting for the doctor to tell him about the sexes.

She sat down at her desk, and smiled.

"You both are expecting a son and a daughter."

She grinned even wider as she saw his face glow.

"Her next appointment is on the 20th of next month. Don't be late," she teased.

"I won't."
