CHAPTER 38 – THE FORK IN THE ROAD
In Brooklyn, Blaine Anderson walked out the front door of his brother's brownstone, zipped up his jacket and began walking in the direction of the hospital so he could check on Michael.
In Manhattan, Sam Evans left his apartment building, slipping a scarf around his neck and walked across the street heading in the direction of the Nolitan Hotel where his Dad was staying.

(Performed by Blaine Anderson and Sam Evans)
BLAINE: You could break this silence with words we wish we'd never said, but I can hear it like a scream. What's become of you and me? Are we still inside this night or am I going crazy?
You could see them in a split-screen, both boys confused about the same things and wanting the same things.
SAM: I'm just trying to understand. Who I was, who I am, but you are changing just the same so can you tell me who's to blame? Could we put our weapons down just to figure this out?
Both boys sang the same lyrics trying to make sense of where they relationship turned in the last 48 hours.
Blaine/Sam: Now, pride is out the door 'cause I know we can make it before (make it before). Make it before the sun breaks another day. I wait 'til you say I'm the only one before we come, before we come undone.
They both turned a corner and kept walking.
BLAINE: If you say that it's too late those are words my heart can't take
Blaine/Sam: And this night is out to kill, and we let it, it will. Could we both forgive somehow
SAM: Cause I'm not letting you down.
Blaine/Sam: Now, pride is out the door 'cause I know we can make it before (make it before). Make it before the sun breaks another day. I wait 'til you say I'm the only one before we come, before we come undone.
Sam passed the hotel and continued to walk on an unknown path. Blaine turned heading to the blue cross jetting out the outside of the hospital.
SAM: Watch out, here we go. There's no turning back you know. We can't keep going round and round and round and round.
BLAINE: So now pride is out the door 'cause I know we can make it before
SAM: Make it before
BLAINE: Make it before the sun breaks another day. I wait 'til you say I'm the only one
SAM: I'm the only one
Sam/Blaine: Before we come, before we come undone.
SAM: Pride is out the door 'cause I know we can make it before
BLAINE: Make it before
Sam/Blaine: Make it before the sun breaks another day. I wait 'til you say I'm the only one before we come, before we come undone
BLAINE: Cause I know we can make it before
SAM: Make it before we come undone.
As Blaine walked into the hospital, Sam entered a breakfast restaurant called YOLK. He looked around and quickly found Will Schuester sitting there waiting on him to eat breakfast.
"Hey Dad," Sam smiled as Will stood and gave his son a hug. "I wish I'd known that Blake was going to stay at the hospital again last night. You could have stayed at my place instead of the hotel."
"Oh, I don't mind at all," Will shook his head hoping his son wouldn't worry as he sat down at the table. "I just hate you've been working non-stop since I've been here."
"Well I'm off all day today," Sam assured him. "I've been looking forward to Dad and Son time. I could really use your advice about some things."
"You mean how you two keep saying the wrong thing and not accepting the fact that love does conquer all?" Will spoke Sam's thoughts in one question making him question life in general.
"You make it sound really bad, Dad," Sam said while taking a sip of the coffee Will had already ordered for him.
Before Will could respond the waitress walked over and took their order. When she walked away Sam started to speak but his father beat him to it. "Sam, in most times since we've had this relationship as father/son these roles would be reversed and I'd ask you for relationship advice, but you and Blaine are in a weird spot. Now, I know you'll probably be mad with me but I had Santana fill me in on what's been going on."
"Dad, you have your own things to worry about," Sam rebuked.
"The only three things in this world I have to worry about and take care of are Emma, Brittany, and you. The three of you are my priority," Will cut Sam off and corrected him. "When my son who I care about more than anything else is unhappy with his life I'm going to do what I can to fix that."
"What did you do?" Sam wondered.
"Well for starters I called Ella and told her to reschedule that audition that you insisted you couldn't do because you needed to spend time with Blaine," Will surprised Sam.
"But Dad that's going completely against what he and I argued about."
"First of all, you didn't argue. When you and Blaine disagree you walk away from each other before you say anything too bad, which most of the time is a smart thing to do, but in this case it's keeping you from resolving the issue," Will disagreed. "Secondly, in this particular argument, Blaine is right and you are wrong."
The surprise in Sam's face that Will would take Blaine's side could not be hidden, but his respect for his Dad was so high that he didn't argue with him. Instead, he just asked, "Why do you think that?"
"Because you and Blaine are a lot alike, but when it comes to your careers you are simply in two different places," he began his explanation. "Sam, you're already an Emmy award winner. You're nominated for the American Music Award's Best New Artist and have already won MTV's. Tarzan was at number one at the box office for three weeks until the New Captain America came out and you just made five million dollars on your final campaign with Tommy Hilfiger. It's safe to say that you have made your mark on the industry. Ella told me she's getting four or five scripts specifically requesting you every week. Not to mention this television pilot that looks incredible. Blaine doesn't have that."
Sam looked down as he began to realize what Will was saying.
"Blaine's success right now is on Broadway and it is a huge success, but he's only been there three months. It was already gracious of them to give him the two weeks off he needed to do the pilot, and what you don't know is that it took Justin, Ella, and Mr. Tveit going to the producers of the show and convincing them not to fire Blaine and just give him the time off."
Sam felt horrible. "Why didn't he tell me that?"
"Because when it comes to careers yours is intimidating Sam even for Blaine," Will explained.
"I didn't know," Sam realized. "Dad, you have to understand. I just want to spend some time with him. Just the two of us is something we haven't had in over a year."
"I know that and I do understand that alone time is something that you really do need, but instead of going all commando and throwing out ultimatums why not use the resources at your disposal," Will suggested.
"My money?" Sam assumed.
"No, that's actually the worst thing you could do. Blaine doesn't want to feel like you're supporting him. He needs to make his own way," Will continued his explanation. "I'm talking about Ella. Talk to her. See what she can think of to help out your situation. She's the smartest business woman I know. I meant it when I said I'd never trust you to anyone else."
Sam sat there in thought while they ate their breakfast. Finally, he looked up and said, "Do you want to go talk to her with me?"
"I think I'll let you go talk to her on your own. This needs to be your decision. I'll go back to the hotel and work out the arrangements to take Michael home after the wedding Saturday and help him get caught back up in school. His teachers are emailing me his missed work and I'll go make him work on it at the hospital until we can get him moved to your place hopefully soon," Will concocted his plan.
"Okay, so that's what I should do to help Blaine and me, but what should I say when I talk to him. I'm guessing I really screwed things up," Sam lamented.
"I'm the wrong parent to ask that, Sam. Relationship advice is you Mom's forte. Give her a call," Will declared.

When Blaine made it to the hospital, he walked to Michael's room and saw that he was asleep in Blake's arms. It didn't surprise him. With everything that Michael had been through, he needed to feel the strong arms of someone that would protect him. Blaine knew the feeling. Seeing that both boys were still asleep, he turned to leave but saw Santana walking towards him.
"Guilty," she held her hands up. "I know it's my shift, but I had to go to the cafeteria and get some decent coffee. Are you my replacement?"
"No, I just wanted to check on Michael and pray that he's okay. I've been so pissed at my brother for not coming back earlier to help find him, but Cooper's actually really messed up about it and the fact that Michael basically kicked him out the other night. I know you and the others don't see it or understand it, but Cooper does love the kid."
"I know he does," Santana replied. "Just like I know how much you love Sam, but your careers take priority."
"I really don't want to fight with you right now, Santana," Blaine turned to leave.
"Why do you always assume that I want to fight with you," Santana stopped him. "I get it. I mean I didn't get it. I was completely on Sam's side, but Dani and I actually had a fight about it and she made me see that even though we're all close and friends our careers aren't at the same place. Sam and I can afford to just leave town for awhile but not everyone in our little crew can do that. Sam we'll see that too. I can talk to him if you want me too."
"No, I need to do that," Blaine admitted. "I just don't understand why he doesn't know how much I would love to be laying out on some beach with him for a month. Just him and I doing what we want wherever we want to do it."
"You really are a little sex monkey aren't you?" she giggled.
"We have that in common," Blaine winked. "By the way, sorry you and Dani had a fight over Sam and me."
"Oh, I'm not. It was great make up sex," she grinned. Thinking ahead, she said, "You know, we had Mercedes bridal shower last night and she said Justin was going to be at the office all day today trying to get ahead on his work so he could spend the end of the week just concentrating on the wedding. Maybe he could help you come up with something for you and Sam."
"That's a good idea, thanks Santana," Blaine nodded his appreciation before turning to leave again.
"One more thing, hobbit," Santana called out. "Is your blood type AB-?"
"No, I'm A+ why?" he inquired.
"The doctor came by earlier and said their supply was out and Michael needs two more pints to make sure the drugs are completely flushed from his system and to replace what he lost. They aren't going to release him from the hospital until they do that," she explained.
"There's over 100 employees at Five Star maybe they could send out a memo or something to check blood types. I can ask when I get there," Blaine determined.
They both looked in on the boys sleeping.
"They look so peaceful," Blaine mentioned.
"They look like you and Sam," Santana stated the obvious.

"I really do appreciate you girls helping me out this morning," Mercedes spoke to Quinn and Claire as they walked down the streets of the Meat Packing District known as the Fashion Corner of New York City. "With Mom and Mia not getting here until Wednesday I really don't know what I would do without my friends helping me get ready for this wedding."
"So what exactly are we looking for?" Claire questioned ready to shop 'til she dropped.
"I need the perfect ensemble to leave the reception and head off on our honeymoon," Mercedes closed her eyes just thinking about it.
"Please don't make me think about sex. I haven't been laid in over a month and that's a world record for me," Claire moaned.
"Oh, Mercedes wasn't thinking about that. She's a virgin. She's waiting for marriage," Quinn explained to Claire and then thought about it. "Which means she might have been thinking about finally getting a piece of that beautiful man she's been dating for over a year."
"Quinn, that is personal," Mercedes blushed.
"I'm just saying he's one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen and he's so sweet," Quinn explained herself. "I bet he's a tiger between the sheets especially if he's been waiting for you all this time."
"I do have a great man. I can't wait to show him my appreciation for waiting for me all this time either," Mercedes' sly smile let the two blondes know exactly what she meant by the statement.
"Quinn, I think us single ladies have a new job to do before this weekend," Claire smirked. "We need to make sure Mercedes knows all the tricks of the trade to help her man out."
"Oh speak for yourself Miss Holton," Mercedes turned around in front of them and stopped them in their tracks. "Just because I haven't sampled the fruit doesn't mean I don't know how to get my man's juices flowing."

Mercedes turned around and the three ladies sauntered down the street looking in windows and dancing to the music.
MERCEDES: Up in the club, we just broke up. I'm doing my own little thing. You decided to dip but now you wanna trip 'cause another brother noticed me. I'm up on him, he up on me. Don't pay him any attention. 'Cause I cried my tears, for three good years. Ya can't be mad at me.
She looked at her two girls reminding them that their men were fools and they could do better. This trip was as much to cheer them up as it was to find her a dress.
GIRLS: Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it. If you liked it then you should've put a ring on it. Don't be made once you see that he want it. If you liked it then you should've put a ring on it.
Girls on the street joined them as they began to dance along to the music in the same style as the music video. They continued to dance as Mercedes continued the song.
MERCEDES: I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips. Hold me tighter than my Dereon jeans. Acting up, drink in my cup. I could care less what you think. I need no permission, did I mention don't pay him any attention. 'Cause you had your turn and now you gonna learn what it really feel like to miss me.
More girls from the shops joined them until they had a flash mob going in the street.
MERCEDES: Don't treat me to these things of the world. I'm not that kind of girl. Your love is what I prefer, what I deserve. Is a man that makes me then takes me and delivers me to a destiny, to infinity and beyond. Pull me into your arms. Say I'm the one that you want. If you don't you'll be alone and like a ghost I'll be gone.

When Sam walked into Ella's office, she was on the phone seeming to be incredibly busy. She motioned for him to sit down and wait.
"Yes, Nicholas, I completely understand," she said and Sam couldn't help but wonder who she was talking too. "I will have him out in Los Angeles next Monday. He is looking forward to it. We both love your books and we know this is the perfect next step for him." She paused again and waited. "He is sitting in front of me right now. He is grateful you are still interested."
She finished the call and hung up. "We're in luck. They are still interested in you for The Guardian. Mr. Sparks saw your YouTube channel and he just sees you as the right person for this part but you have to convince the studio because they aren't as keen on you as the choice as he is."
"Why don't they like me?" Sam really had never felt a rejection before and wanted to know why.
"They think you're too young for this part. You would be playing seven years older than you actually are, but we both know you can do that. You've just got to convince them that you can do it. We'll fly to LA next Sunday and you audition on Monday," Ella stood from her desk and walked around it to sit next to Sam. "Well you don't seem to happy about it. Your dad said that's what you wanted."
"I do if you both think it's the best thing for me," Sam concluded. "I actually came here to talk to you about something else."
"Okay, what can I help you with?" she leaned back in her chair.
"I screwed up with Blaine and I need help finding a solution," Sam stood from his seat and rubbed his hands through his hair. "I told him to pick between me and Broadway because I didn't see how bad of a choice I was giving him. There has to be a way that he can have his career and we can spend time with him just the two of us."
"There are ways. Are you willing to make sacrifices for him too?" She questioned.
"Of course, I am, I'd do anything to know that the two of us would be together," Sam declared.
"Okay then, it just so happens that I know Anne Quart, she's Blaine's producer, she is looking for some talent, both on and off Broadway talent for her Broadway Babies benefit in January. That's her pet project. She prides herself in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for that charity. With you and your friends I could spin it to make her see she could make more money than ever before," he could see Ella scheming a plan in her head as she spoke. She turned around and pressed the intercom button on her phone.
"Yes, Ms. Stone," the secretary's voice rang through the phone.
"Get me Anne Quart on the phone please," Ella smirked and winked at Sam. "Sit down, I'm pretty good at this, but it may take me a while." Sam seemed tense. "Don't worry," Ella continued. "I always get what I want."

Mr. Tveit looked up when he heard the knock at his door and saw Blaine Anderson standing there.
"Blaine, come on in," he pointed to a chair. "Are you not filming today?"
"I go in later. I film the opening with Rachel this evening."
"Things are going well I presume," Aaron continued the conversation.
"Yes sir, the filming has been a dream come true. I'm so grateful for the opportunity," Blaine claimed.
"That's good to hear. Is it something about the pilot you wanted to talk to me about?" Aaron needed to move the conversation along.
"No, I'm here to talk to Justin about that. I actually was hoping I could ask you for a favor," Blaine requested.
"Of course, what is it?" he questioned.
"I don't know if you've heard about our friend, Michael who was kidnapped, but he needs blood and the hospital is out of AB- blood. I was thinking with all the employees at Five Star someone has to have it too," Blaine explained.
"You want me to ask everyone to donate. That's admirable, but I'm not going to do it," Aaron determined. "There's no need."
"What do you mean?" Blaine wondered.
"That's my blood type. I'll be happy to go on my lunch break and donate," Aaron smiled. "It's a shame what happened to that young man. Any help I can give I'm happy to do it."
"Thank you, Mr. Tveit," Blaine smiled.
"Please call me Aaron. It's my hope we'll be working together for a long time Blaine. We should be on a first name basis."
"Thanks, Aaron," Blaine agreed.
"Will you be coming to the bachelor party I'm throwing for Justin Thursday night? You know all the Five Star men are invited," Aaron offered.
"I film that night I think, but if I don't I'll be happy to be there. It will be fun to see Justin let loose a bit," Blaine admitted.
"Good to hear. I'll expect to see you . . . and perhaps you and Sam together," Aaron suggested. "You know he's in Ella's office right now."
"I've taken up enough of your time. Thank you for giving your blood for my friend," Blaine concluded the conversation before leaving. He didn't see the smile on Aaron's face when he left.
When Blaine walked into the hallway Sam was walking out of Ella's office. The two boys froze in place when they saw each other. Blaine was the first to speak.
"Still hate me?"
"I could never hate you. You should hate me for what I said," Sam confessed.
"I could never hate you either," Blaine copied Sam's remarks. "Do you have some more business to do or do you think we might could walk home together and talk?"
"I think that's a good idea," Sam agreed.
The two boys went down the elevator together and out the front door of Five Star. They had walked an entire city block together before Blaine spoke up again.
"I wasn't using that song to say that I picked work over you. I was using it hoping that you would see how much I love what I do. I never meant for you to think it meant more to me than you do."
"I didn't mean to make you feel like you had to pick," Sam began but he stopped himself. "That's a lie. I did want you to pick me over it, but I never should have put you in that position. I just really want you all to myself but I can't have that."
"You can have me," Blaine insisted. "You can have me anytime you want."
The hidden meaning in Blaine's words were not lost on Sam. "As fun as that would be we need to talk about how we can get things back to normal between us."
"Maybe we should consider doing that by not talking and instead remind ourselves why we're fighting for this relationship in the first place," Blaine suggested. "You've already said you want to be with me. Let me remind you why."
Sam looked into Blaine's eyes and saw the lust and passion that he remembered. His brain told him to be steadfast and have the conversation that they needed to have to make things right, but it had been so long since he'd had sex that his better senses were losing that battle quickly.
The next thing he knew he and Blaine were making out and falling through his apartment door. Sam picked him up and threw him over his shoulder and slapped his ass. "I think it's time my new bed finally gets a workout."

On the set of Fame, Mike and Tina stood in the dance studio and began singing their duet for the preview videos. He stood staring out the window and she stood at the door gazing at him. The duo had no idea that at the same time Sam and Blaine renewed their physical relationship

Sam and Blaine slowly removed each others' clothes while staring in the other' eyes.
MIKE: I don't know where I'm at. I'm standing at the back and I'm tired of waiting. Waiting here in line hoping that I'll find what I've been chasing.
Sam laid Blaine down and kissed his way down his tight body until Blaine's eyes rolled back in his head because of the pleasure given to him by Sam's lips.
Mike/Tina: I shot for the sky. I'm stuck on the ground.
MIKE: So why do I try?
Mike/Tina: I know I'm gonna fall down. I thought I could fly so why did I drown?
MIKE: I'll never know why
Mike/Tina: It's coming down, down, down.
For a moment, they laid side by side linking their fingers together.
TINA: I'm not ready to let go 'cause then I'll never know what could be missing. But I'm missing way too much so when do I give up what I've been wishing for?
Blaine pushed Sam on his back and straddled his waist sinking in to the hilt of Sam's manhood.
Oh, I am going down, down down.
Sam sat up with Blaine still on top of him searching for Blaine's lips with his.
Mike/Tina: I can't find another way around. I don't wanna hear the sound of losing what I never found.
He pushed Blaine onto the bed chest down and grinded his body down into him.
MIKE: I shot for the sky. I'm stuck on the ground. So why do I try?
Mike/Tina: I know I'm gonna fall down. I thought I could fly so why did I drown?
MIKE: I'll never know why
Mike/Tina: It's coming down, down, down.
Their bodies moved together as one, both panting in time, in one breath, until Sam collapsed on top of him.
Mike/Tina: I shot for the sky. I'm stuck on the ground.
MIKE: So why do I try?
Mike/Tina: I know I'm gonna fall down. I thought I could fly so why did I drown? It's coming down, down, down.
Sam lay on the bed, his body uncovered and on display for Blaine's eyes only. As he dressed himself, Sam lay there asleep. He looked so peaceful and he didn't want to wake him, but he had to get to the set. Instead, he wrote a note and put it by him. It read:
Sam, I have a few more days after the wedding. Let's go somewhere. Blaine.

Ian Sommers stood outside the hospital room of Michael Burke. The door was shut and he looked through the window at them. He'd come by to talk about paying Michael off for his silence. It was a necessary evil, but he felt like a douche bag for doing it. When he got to the room, both Michael and his young protector were asleep. The only other person in the room was Lindsey. She saw Ian standing there and took advantage of the situation. She pulled the pregnancy card to get him to stay there while she walked down to the cafeteria to feed her and her unborn child.
"Ian?" the raven-haired man turned at the sound of his boss's voice. Aaron stood there massaging his arm, the tell-tale sign of the neon blue gauze around his elbow indicating that he'd just given blood. "What are you doing here?"
"My least favorite part of my job," Ian rolled his eyes. "I'm covering for Cooper and my brother again."
"With the kid?" Aaron assumed. He looked through the window to find the boys sleeping. "Do you think he'll be a problem?"
"I don't know which is worse than knowing," Ian told him. "He's no longer under Cooper's spell that's for sure. Cooper has come by every day since he's been home and the kid won't let him in the door."
"Good for him," Aaron couldn't help but let a little bit of a grin shine through.
"So what are you doing here? You're just randomly giving blood today?" Ian wondered.
"The kid has the same rare blood type that I do. When I heard that I wanted to do my part to help out," Aaron explained.
"That's weird. All these people in the city and you have the right blood," Ian pointed out.
"I'm just glad I could help. I see a lot of myself in the kid," Aaron stated. Seeing the curious look in Ian's eyes, he explained. "From what I hear the kid was abandoned and has to live with a foster family. That sounds exactly like my childhood except he has a foster family like the Evans'. I wasn't so lucky. I ran away when I was his age and no one found me. I was on my own for a long time and would probably be dead if Mrs. Smythe didn't find me."
"You turned out well," Ian proclaimed.
"I did, and this kid deserves the same chance," Aaron declared. "Unlike other people who have used up all of his chances."
"You mean Paul," Ian assumed. "He's back in rehab. He's not just in involuntarily he is court ordered."
"So are you really here to take care of Cooper or Paul?" Aaron questioned.
"Shouldn't I be here for both?" Ian scoffed.
Aaron didn't want to cause a confrontation, but this was his business and he couldn't let emotion get involved. "Look, Ian, I don't doubt that you are trying to do the right thing. You have been caught in an incredibly bad position, but this is a situation that I think legally you don't need to be involved in."
"So what should I do?" Ian asked for advice.
"Cooper needs to leave the kid alone. Send him on vacation, provide him a distraction, but he needs to be away from this for awhile. You need to spend the time taking care of your brother because he will face criminal action for this not just rehab and you need to make sure he understands that." Aaron's expression changed. "You need to also let him know that you are there as his brother, but no longer as his manager."
"You're dropping him?" Ian couldn't believe it.
"He didn't really give us a choice. He's been a liability ever since he joined the company. He hasn't done a positive thing for us yet. I even let one of my top talents take the fall for his mistake. I will not do that again. So go take care of your brother. I'll take care of this situation. I'd like the chance to talk to them anyway."
"Okay, I'll get on the road and go see my brother. Let Justin know I may miss his wedding," Ian realized.
"I think he'll understand. Family comes first," Aaron insisted.
Ian walked away nearly running into Lindsey as she returned. She didn't seem surprised to see Aaron standing there.
"You gave blood for Michael?" she questioned.
"I did," Aaron said before changing the subject. "How long have you known these boys?"
"Since my sophomore year of high school I think. I used to date Blake. I used to fight with Michael over Blake. These two guys are special to me."
"Then introduce me to them," Aaron requested. "There are a few things I'd like to talk to them."
"Michael's not going to sue the company, Aaron. He just wants to go home with Blake and forget all of this happened," Lindsey assumed the subject her boss wanted to talk about.
"It still doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility to take care of him after what one of our former clients," Aaron revealed.
"Former?" Lindsey realized.
"We're letting Paul go. He's too much of a liability," Aaron verified.
"That explains Ian's bitchy attitude when he left," Lindsey mentioned. "But I think that's the only decision you could have made. Is there anything I can do?"
"You can introduce me to your friends. I've actually wanted to meet them ever since they performed at Blaine's birthday party," Aaron surprised her with his reasoning.
"You want to sign them?" Lindsey realized what this could mean.
"I want to talk to them about how talented they are," Aaron concluded.
"This is something I could definitely help you with," Lindsey smiled.

"You slept together?" Rachel spoke too loudly causing those around her and Blaine too look at them curiously. She lowered her voice. "But I thought you were fighting?"
"Yes, we were. But I think we made up," Blaine grinned with a raised eyebrow.
"Having sex doesn't mean you made up. It certainly doesn't solve your problems," Rachel rebuked her friend.
"It reminds us of why we should," Blaine refuted. "There is no denying that Sam and I have incredible chemistry or that we love each other. The other stuff is secondary."
"If it was just secondary why would it have kept you apart all this time?" Rachel noted. Blaine hadn't thought of it like that. He didn't see that the sex haze he was in had him only seeing the positive.
"Rachel," both turned at the sound of Ella's voice. "Can we talk for a minute?"
"Sure, Ella, what about?"
Ella looked over at Blaine and wondered how much of this Sam had filled him in on or would be hearing for the first time.
"You said that you planned on going back to Lima after the wedding which is completely fine. I know you wanted to stay in Lima for a while so you could spend time with Finn and I completely support that, but I'll need you to be back in New York by January 15th," Ella explained.
"Why? I wasn't planning on coming back until February," Rachel reminded her.
"I've worked out a deal for you to be a part of the Broadway Babies charity performance at Radio City. It will be you, Blaine, Sam, several of our other clients as well as long-time Broadway legends. It's a great opportunity that you don't need to pass up," Ella instructed.
"Why do I get the feeling it is more than that?" Rachel saw something in her expression the told her there was more than to the story.
"It was part of the deal to get Blaine a two week vacation at Christmas. Mercedes, Claire, and Colton were part of it too," Ella revealed.
"I didn't ask for that," Blaine spoke up for himself. "I wasn't planning on taking more time off at Christmas. Why would you do this Ella unless . . ." he thought about it for a moment before realizing the answer. "Sam put you up to this didn't he?" She nodded her head in agreement. "Why would he do that? I told him we could go away this weekend after the wedding."
He knew that wasn't completely true. He simply left it in a note.
"He can't. We leave Sunday for LA. He has an audition for the new Nicholas Sparks movie," Ella declared.
"The Guardian? I love that book, but I thought he turned it down," Rachel interrupted Blaine.
"He did, but when he didn't have to take two months off to go on vacation his father and I convinced him that the audition was what was best for him and best for business," Ella continued.
"So it's okay for him to work but not for me?" Blaine's anger began to flow.
"Not at all, Blaine. You would be taking the same amount of time off," Ella hoped to calm him down.
"There is no way my bosses are okay with this," Blaine worried.
"They are. You getting to promote this pilot by being out with cast members helps them. Every picture is captioned Newsies actor Blaine Anderson which makes people want to come see the show. It's also best for business because they train your understudy in case the show is picked up and you have to leave it. Justin and I have made sure everything is done so that it shows you have the utmost respect for you bosses. I wouldn't let it happen any other way, Blaine, and I think you know that."
"Ella, I'll be happy to do it. I'll take care of him," Rachel agreed and referred to Blaine.
Ella nodded her understanding and left them alone.
"I can't believe he messed with my career like that," Blaine scoffed.
"I get that, I do," Rachel put her arms around his waist and spoke to him as sweetly as she could. "But you have to see the romantic quality of him wanting to take care of you just so he can spend time with you at the holidays." She debated whether or not to bring it up but decided to anyway. "I'm sure he just wants to spend the holidays with you this year since you couldn't be together last year, and we all know what cycle that started."
Blaine remembered back. That absence during the holidays is what allowed Adam to begin his mission to break them up. It was also when Dylan entered the picture again.
"You have to remember that he's not completely cured, Blaine. If it's this important to Sam it could be that deep down he worries if he's without you it could happen again. You're his safety net and before last Christmas is the last time he remembers things being normal," Rachel suggested.
"Why is it that sometimes I feel like I don't know him," Blaine whispered.
"What makes you think he doesn't wonder the same thing?" Rachel pondered. "Just like you said earlier your chemistry is off the charts and everyone around the two of you knows exactly how much you love each other, but you're not the same people or the same couple. You have adult problems and careers that you've got to work around and you're not going to solve that by just having sex. You've got to actually talk to each other about it, and you need privacy to do that." She could tell that he was still annoyed. "Don't let your emotions cloud your judgment. You're not wrong, Blaine. You haven't done anything wrong, and Sam may not do things the way you or I would, but his heart is in the right place. But it's not just who he is now it's who you are now as well. You need to really think about that."
(Who Are You Now from Funny Girl – Glee Cast Version)
(Performed Rachel Berry & Blaine Anderson)
Rachel turned to Blaine and sang to him.
RACHEL: Who are you now, now that you're mine? Are you something more than you were before?
BLAINE: Are you warmer in the rain? Are you stronger for my touch? Am I giving too little by my loving you too much?
They both stared out the window of the NYADA lobby and both envisioned their men, Finn and Sam, standing on the other side of the glass. It was as if they were singing to them.
Rachel/Blaine: How is the view, sunny and green? How do you compare it to
RACHEL: The views
BLAINE: The views you've seen?
RACHEL: I know I am
BLAINE: I am
Rachel/Blaine: Better, braver, and surer too. But you – are you now – Who are you now? Are you someone better for my love?

"Are you sure it's okay, Dad?" Sam questioned. It was two days later and Sam had set aside time to go out with his Dad that night, but Zach called him stating how important it was that they speak.
"It's fine, Sam," Will agreed. "We'll be spending most of the day tomorrow getting Michael settled at your place. I'm so thankful that he's finally being released from the hospital."
"Me too, and I'll do everything I can to make sure he gets caught back up in school and has everything he needs. No one should ever feel like they need to run away," Sam theorized. "I just hate to leave you alone tonight."
"I have a lot of alumni and friends in town, Sam. I'm sure I can find someone who wants to have dinner with me tonight," Will determined.
"Yeah, you could call Shelby or even April though I don't know how happy Mom would be about you hanging out with April. She can get a little handsy," Sam thought aloud.
"That is true," Will laughed. "I'll think of something don't worry."
After hanging up with Sam Will knew exactly who he wanted to see. The question was would the interest be reciprocated.

Brody grabbed Will by his lapels and slammed him hard against the wall, his mouth hungrily attacking the older man as the elevator car swayed slightly from the impact. Will had known full well it was probably a bad idea to ask Brody to join him for dinner – especially at his hotel - but the words spilled from his mouth before he could stop them. Ever since he'd gotten to New York, he'd wanted to see the gorgeous Adonis that had been the special guest star of his dreams, but he'd resisted the temptation.
Until now.
The meal had gone fine, the conversation sticking to safe subjects like the Fame pilot. Will laughed at Brody's anecdotes about April and Cassandra and the crew starting a pool over whose blood alcohol level was higher. Subjects like Michael, Cooper, and particularly their night together after the Emmys in Los Angeles were avoided like they'd had a prerequisite unspoken agreement.
After Will picked up the check, it was only natural that Brody offered to buy him a drink as a thank you. One drink became two as they half-watched the constant feed of news and sports on the televisions in the hotel's nearly empty lounge.
Then Will felt Brody's shoeless foot brush against his leg. His heart pounded when it slid up the inside of his leg to the top of the inseam. He tried to think of Emma and the baby, but all he could see was the striking blue eyes across the table that were a shade darker than he remembered because of the lust hidden inside them. When Brody's foot began rubbing his crotch that was it. He was glad the sweater vest he'd chosen for the evening was long enough to hide the huge bulge in his pants as he followed the younger man across the lobby to the elevators.
Once the doors closed and Brody had him pushed up against the wall, Will reached out and grabbed Brody's round tight ass in his hands. He pulled Brody close to him, both men moaning as Will's hard-on ground up against Brody's equally stiff cock.
The door opened and they lurched out into the hallway, still attached at the lips and not caring. Brody plunged his hands into Will's front pockets and made a very thorough search before pulling out the key card to unlock the door.
"All through dinner," he whispered in Will's ear. "All I could think about is how your dick tastes."
Inside the door of the hotel room, shoes and socks were shed in the entryway. Will took control as months of pent up sexual desire exploded. His kisses became harder, their teeth knocking and clicking. He yanked Brody's shirt open and ran his hands over the smooth, muscular chest. "I love your body," Will breathed. His mouth started drifting south; after roughly sucking Brody's nipples, he dragged his tongue further down Brody's flawless body. "I want you so fucking bad . . ."
"I'm all yours," Brody said seductively as his pants pooled around his ankles; he wasn't wearing any underwear. Will licked his lips at the sight of that long cock standing at full mast. "Tell me what you want to do first."
"Suck Daddy's dick," Will ordered, sitting on the bed as he unbuttoned his own shirt to reveal tight pecs covered with a dusting of hair.
Brody hesitated while pulling off Will's pants and boxers. Daddy? He hadn't taken Will for that type. A twinge of jealousy tightened his stomach as he thought about Cooper and his daddy fetish. But then Will's cock sprung up, thick and leaking and all he wanted to do was ram it down his throat. Brody knelt between Will's spread legs and tortured him with a long slow lick from the base all the way up to the wet slit. He closed his eyes at the sweet taste of Will's juice.
"You taste so good, Daddy," Brody whispered. "Better than I remembered." He combed his fingers through the hair on Will's chest and down until he reached the neatly trimmed thatch at the base of his cock. Will's head dropped back at the sensation and made an appreciative sound. Then, without any warning, Brody's mouth pounced on Will's cock.
"Fuck!" Will jerked at the unexpected sensation and pushed even more of himself down Brody's throat. The man had one hell of a big cock but Brody didn't even gag. All the thought about was how much he missed giving head . . . and the flavor of cum he enjoyed on his tongue.
Brody hollowed his cheeks and bobbed up and down on Will's shaft like a man possessed. Will clenched a fistful of Brody's hair and moaning constantly in pleasure.
"O-oh, fuck! I-I'm gonna cum!" Will stammered, his face and chest flushed red.
Brody just picked up the pace.
Finally, Will screamed and pounded the mattress. Brody felt Will's cock pulse and his mouth fill with an explosion. He backed off so he could catch the second burst at point-blank range. One of his favorite endings with Cooper had been the facial and Will's dick didn't disappoint as four more powerful squirts painted his face.
Brody licked the goo from his lips before rising to place a long, sloppy kiss on Will's mouth – at the same time feeding the teacher a tongueful of his own load.
"You taste incredible," Brody purred, fingering the semen off his face and into his mouth.
"That was incredible," Will panted. "I thought you were going to suck my nuts up through my cock."
"I tried," Brody chuckled, swirling a finger around his chest. "Now what?"
"Fuck me, baby," Will breathed before pulling Brody in for another sticky kiss. "Fuck me hard."
The lust in Will's voice made Brody leak. He threw Will's legs open, hoisted his tight ass up off the bed and rubbed the tip of his dick against the little puckered opening. "You like it hard, right?" Brody teased as he squirted lube on himself before fingering Will's hole to loosen him up. The older man hissed at Brody's touch. "Tell me you want it hard . . ."
"I want it hard," Will rasped.
Brody smiled and started pushing, breath hitching as he felt his cock slipping inside . . . before he slammed it in his Daddy's ass with one savage thrust.
"Oh, shit!" Will screamed, eyes bulging as his fingers dug into Brody's strong arms.
Brody gritted his teeth as he gave it to Will jackhammer style. His muscles gleamed with sweat as he mercilessly fucked the older man into the mattress. God, he loved how so fucking tight Will was! When Will started sliding away up the bed from the force of the pounding, Brody lay down next to him, grabbed him close with one arm around his neck, entered him from behind and went at it full throttle.
Every time Brody's huge cock dragged across this sweet spot, Will cried out in pleasure. His own cock was again rock hard and dripping and all he wanted to do was touch himself. Brody knew it too and held both of his wrists in one strong hand to prolong the exquisite torture.
Soon Will was grunting and swearing and Brody felt his ass constricting around his about-to-burst cock. He held Will's hands as the teacher let out a gurgling scream. His swollen cock convulsed and started shooting wildly as Brody fucked a second load hands-fee out of him.
Hot drops of jizz landed on Brody's legs but he was too far gone to notice his groin was aching and his brain was burning. He pulled out of Will's ass just in time to fire huge ropes of cum across Will's chest and abs, coating them. After he'd come down from his orgasm he lay next to Will shaking.
"Hard enough for you, Daddy?" Brody asked, breathing hard.
"Definitely," Will reluctantly pulled himself out from under Brody's sweat-slick body and kissed him. "Good boy. That was amazing."
Brody wiped a line of cum off Will's sack with a finger and popped it into his mouth. "I can't get enough of you."
"That's good," Will replied. "Because I don't want you to leave tonight."
Brody saw something in Will's eyes that was different. He turned to his side and stared at Will. "I would love to stay, but something is different and I'm guessing you have no one to talk to about it."
"That's a mood changer," Will lamented.
Brody moved over next to him resting his head on Will's shoulder and rubbing his chest and stomach to calm him. "I'll get you back in the mood. Don't worry about that. I really like being with you, but I get that this is just fun, and I bet you'd have more fun with me if you had a clear conscious."
"You're a good kid, Brody."
"I am, but don't ask me to call you Daddy, again. Do I look like a little boy to you?" Brody flexed all his muscles to Will's delight.
"No, you don't. You look like you're ready to control me," Will grinned.
"Tell me all your problems, teacher, and I'll earn my grade I promise," Brody winked and pulled Will on top of him.

Sam opened the door of his apartment to find Zach on the other side.
"Zach, Lindsey's not with you?" Sam had assumed they would come together.
"I told her to meet me here in about a half hour. I was hoping you and I could talk man to man before she gets here," Zach proposed.
"This is about the baby, isn't it?" Sam realized moving aside to let Zach in the room.
"I hoped we could talk about things because we both care about Lindsey and she doesn't want to hurt either of us," Zach explained his concern.
"Then let's talk," Sam agreed as they both sat down in the living room. "If we can help Lindsey then we should."
"I know your friendship with her is as strong as my love for her, Sam. If anything were to happen to me I know you would take care of her and the baby even if it's not yours," Zach proclaimed.
"I know you would do the same, but somehow I think this isn't about that," Sam raised an eyebrow.
"Lindsey's doctor says that we can get an accurate paternity test right after the first of the year. I know that you and I will be happy to finally have the answer to that question, but I think there are other questions we need to answer for each other," Zach suggested.
Sam seemed perplexed. "What exactly are you getting at, Zach?"
"I know that you know I love Lindsey, but what you don't realize is how serious I am about her," Zach began.
"What? Have you bought a ring or something?" Sam joked.
Zach blushed and looked out the window.
"Oh wow," Sam let the realization hit him. "You have bought one. You're going to ask Lindsey to marry you, aren't you?"
"I don't know when, but yes, I am," Zach's grin brightened the room.
"Congratulations!" Sam leaned over and gave Zach the biggest bro hug he'd ever gotten. "That is great news! I know you will make Lindsey very happy, and I know how much she loves you."
"You don't think it's too soon?" Zach questioned.
"No, not at all. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Blaine after two months. I mean granted things aren't exactly working out according to that plan but I still love him exactly the same as I did the day I realized it so I know exactly how you feel. I know exactly how fast the realization can hit you so I am 100% totally behind this," the idea made Sam so incredibly happy he was jumping around the room full of energy. Then he stopped all at once. He was facing away from Zach when he realized why the man was there. Slowly turning around, he saw it in Zach's eyes.
"You don't just want to marry, Lindsey, do you? You want to raise the baby and be its father even if it's mine," Sam spoke the words aloud for the first time.
"Yes," Zach didn't hide his intentions. "Lindsey and I would like to raise the child as ours and ask you to be the godfather."
"But what if I'm the father?" Sam questioned.
Zach paused and watched for Sam reaction before he continued. "Sam, I know that I haven't known you for a long time, but I do know enough to know that your family is the most important thing in the world. I wouldn't expect you to be any different with the baby, but you need to think about how it would affect the other relationships in your life that you care so much about."
"You mean, Blaine," Sam knew what he meant.
"Blaine is one of the people I'm talking about. What are you going to do if your work takes you away from New York for a long time or you eventually move to LA with Blaine?" Zach pointed out. "The baby would be flown back and forth and never have a stable home. And I know it will happen, Sam, because you're talented and you're going to go the distance."
"I couldn't leave my baby behind," Sam defended himself.
"I wouldn't want you to do that either," Zach nodded. "Lindsey and I want you to be a huge part of the child's life no matter the paternity. I'm just here to ask you to consider letting us raise the child."
"That's a pretty big thing to ask," Sam confessed.
"I know. That's why I wanted to give you time to think about it before we actually have to make a decision. Now you have the month to consider the options, but I promise you, Sam, I will make this child the most loved child in the world whether I'm the biological father or not," Zach promised. "Will you at least think about it?"
Sam didn't know how the idea made him feel, but he respected and appreciated not having it sprung on him all at once. He nodded his head agreeing to think about it.

Keahu, Lucy, Max, and Claire sat on four stools on the NYADA the next morning. Cameras were set up to film close-ups of each of them and the entire group from each side. The next day of filming had started and every member of the cast had to come into film, but it started with them.
(Wide Awake by Katy Perry – Glee Cast Version)
(Performed by Keahu Kalani, Lucy Hales, Max Schneider, & Claire Holton)
KEAHU: I'm wide awake, yeah, I was in the dark. I was falling hard with an open heart. I'm wide awake. How did I read the stars so wrong?
The car pulled up in front of the apartment building where Sam, Tina, Artie, Sunshine, and Tyler waited.
LUCY: I'm wide awake, and now it's clear to me that everything you see ain't always what it seems. I'm wide awake, yeah, I was dreaming for so long.
After the car stopped the door opened and Will got out first followed by Michael and Blake.
Claire/Keahu: I wish I knew then what I know now wouldn't dive in wouldn't bow down. Gravity hurts. You made it so sweet 'til I woke up on the concrete.
Seeing all of his friends, Michael hugged each one before Blake put his arm around his waist and led him up the stairs.
MAX: Falling from cloud nine
KEAHU: We're falling, yeah
MAX: Crashing from the high
KEAHU: From high
Max/Lucy: I'm letting go tonight. Yeah, I'm falling from cloud nine
Sam opened the door to his apartment and led Michael and Blake into his guest room.
Claire/Keahu: I'm wide awake.
CLAIRE: Not losing any sleep I picked up every piece and landed on my feet.
Claire/Keahu: I'm wide awake
CLAIRE: Need nothing to complete myself
Claire/Keahu: No . . .
CLAIRE: Oh . . .
Blake watched as Michael looked through the new clothes that Sam picked up from him since they never found his stuff.
KEAHU: I'm wide awake. Yeah, I am born again out of the lion's den. I don't have to pretend. And it's too late. The story's over now, then end, yeah.
Michael turned around and saw his guitar leaning against the wall in the corner. The item saved his life on so many occasions. He began to cry and Blake was there to wrap him up in his arms and comfort him.
Claire/Max: I wish I knew then what I know now wouldn't dive in wouldn't bow down. Gravity hurts. You made it so sweet 'til I woke up on, on the concrete.
In the living room, everyone listened to him crying and just sat there. They knew it was needed. It was the first time he'd let his emotions out.
Lucy/Max: Falling from cloud nine
KEAHU: It was out of the blue, I'm
Lucy/Max: Crashing from the high. I'm letting go tonight.
KEAHU: Yeah, I'm ready to go, I'm
Lucy/Max: Yeah, I'm falling from cloud nine.
Will explained the plan to the others and then Sam and Tina left for the set.
Keahu/Lucy: I'm wide awake!
CLAIRE: Thunder rumbling
Keahu/Lucy: I'm wide awake!
MAX: Castles crumbling
Keahu/Lucy: I'm wide awake!
LUCY: I am trying to
Keahu/Lucy: Hold on.
Lying on the bed in the guest room, Blake looked down into Michael's tear-stained eyes and leaned over and kissed him on the lips.
Keahu/Lucy/Max: I'm wide awake.
CLAIRE: God knows that I've tried
Keahu/Lucy/Max: I'm wide awake!
CLAIRE: Seeing the bright side
Will said goodbye to Sunshine, Artie, and Tyler. He started making lunch for the boys.
MAX (Keahu): But I'm not (blind anymore).
CLAIRE (Keahu/Lucy): I'm (I'm wide awake) falling from cloud nine
Blake walked Michael into the shower and began cleaning him up. He knew it was his job to make Mikey feel safe.
MAX: It was out the blue, I'm
Keahu/Lucy: Crashing from the high
Claire/Keahu: You know I'm letting go tonight
MAX: Yeah, I'm ready to go, I'm
Keahu/Lucy: I'm falling from cloud nine
ALL: I'm wide awake.
The smell of hamburgers floated into the bedroom as the boys got dressed. Blake turned at the sound of Michael's stomach growling.
"Someone is hungry," Blake smiled.
"I haven't had real food in over a week and that smells amazing," Michael pointed to the door after putting one of his new t-shirts on. "When did Sam learn to cook like that?"
"I don't think its Sam," Blake remembered Sam's schedule. He followed Michael into the kitchen to find Mr. Schuester flipping the burgers one last time before letting them sit on the paper plates he had next to the frying pan.
"Smells great, Mr. Schue," Michael said before sitting down at the bar. He looked over to another plate full of French fries. "Oh, this is the best meal ever."
"Probably not the best meal ever but I know my cooking is better than hospital food," Will grinned. "Now eat up. We need to get your strength up. Blake, try not to eat all of them before he has a chance to get plenty."
Blake faked like he looked hurt as he grabbed three sodas out of the refrigerator for them. The boys ate and laughed with their teacher talking about random topics that kept them away from any real topics of conversation. Finally, Michael knew if the subject would be breached he would have to do it."
"So what's next?" he asked causing Blake and Mr. Schue to look at him in surprise. "Look, I know with the whole medical stuff I still have to wait until test results come back and I'll pretty much go crazy so there's got to be something that I can do to get my mind off of it."
"Well, you have your school work to catch up on. You missed a week," Mr. Schue suggested.
"Okay, that will work but my laptop was in my backpack that's still missing," Michael reminded them.
"Sam bought you a new laptop to replace it so you could do your work," Blake told him.
"He really has to stop being so nice to me all the time," Michael declared.
"Like you could stop Sam from doing that?" Blake laughed and took another huge bite of his burger.
Michael turned to Mr. Schue who shook his head.
"Blake has a point. You can't change Sam's mind when he plans on doing something. So just be thankful."

"Is Blaine ignoring you?" Tina questioned later that day when everyone was on set. It was the day before Thanksgiving and three days before the wedding.
"It appears that way," Sam agreed. "I'm hoping that he's just busy working. He's been in every scene we've done today."
"Have you talked to him and apologized for whatever it is that you did?" she asked.
"I've been giving him space," Sam decided.
"Really? How's that working out for you?" Tina side-eyed him.
"We were together again," Sam freely told her. "I thought things would be better after, but we've barely spoken since."
"I don't think sex was ever your problem. You always did that well from what the rest of us could hear. But sometimes you two have lost your ability to communicate," Tina proposed.
"Yeah, and I really need him right now," Sam spoke with honesty before turning back to Tina. "Why do you think that is? Why can't we talk anymore?"
"Honestly?" Tina knew the answer but she wasn't sure he wanted to know it.
"Always, Tina," Sam insisted.
"You're so worried about losing each other that you're too worried to say how you feel. You both put the other ahead of yourselves and if you want a relationship to work both of you have to be happy," Tina prophesized.
Sam knew there was only one person that could help him make the final move that would hopefully bring him and Blaine together once and for all. He excused himself from Tina and walked over away from the others to make a call.

Emma Schuester quickly closed the door to the baby's room when she heard the phone ring. Brittany had just fallen asleep and she didn't want to risk waking her. She picked up the phone and answered it straight away.
"Hello?"
"Mom, it's Sam. I need your advice to help Blaine and me. Please help me get him back."
