This chapter takes place three weeks after the last one.

Chapter 38

Olivia sighs as Caleb lets out another scream from his car-seat, spitting out his pacifier for the fourth time in ten minutes. She groans in frustration before grabbing the pacifier and placing it onto her baby brother's lap, wincing as he continues to cry. Quinn notices her daughter's frustration, sharing a concerned look with her wife before turning her attention back to the road, turning the car into Adam and Brittany's driveway and rolling to a stop. She frowns when Olivia instantly gets out of the car and heads straight to the house.

"I'm worried about her" Santana murmers, watching as Olivia disappears into her brother's house.

"Yeah, so am I" Quinn replies as she gets out of the car, unstrapping Caleb and carefully taking the still crying infant into her arms. "Maybe we should talk to her later" Santana nods as she leads them into the house. They find Olivia sitting on the couch with Brittany, the dancer giving the girl a troubled look while Adam grins at them from the recliner, holding out his arms.

"Hey little guy" he coos as Quinn places Caleb into his arms. "Hey ladies" he adds as an afterthought. Santana rolls her eyes before dropping down next to Olivia and slinging an arm around the girl's shoulders.

"You ok pretty girl?" the latina asks quietly, her eyes searching the girl's disgruntled features. Her concern grows as her daughter ignores the question, turning to Brittany instead.

"Can I go play on your computer aunt Brittany?" Olivia asks, Brittany looking at Quinn for approval before nodding. Santana looks over at Quinn, noticing the questioning look on her wife's face, her hazel eyes narrowed slightly.

"Did you guys have an argument or something?" Brittany asks Santana, "She ignored you" Santana sighs and shakes her head.

"No, she's been a little weird the last few days, I think she's a little upset about having to share us" Santana murmers, giving Quinn a sad smile.

"I think she's more than a little upset" Adam interrupts, "I know how she feels, I was the centre of Mom and Dad's attention for five years until you came along, crying all the time and stealing all the attention. It sucked" he tells them seriously, "Until you started walking and talking and would help me play prnks on everyone that came to the house" Adam finishes with a grin.

"We've talked to her about it plenty of times, she knows that Caleb isn't more important, it's just that babies are hard work" Quinn replies, going on the defensive.

"I didn't say that you guys were doing anything wrong" Adam tells his sister-in-law softly, "I'm just telling you how she feels, it's what happens when you get a younger sibling. I wanted the hospital to take Santana back when she was Caleb's age, she may be older but the jealousy is still there." Santana glances at Quinn, the two of them having a silent conversation with their eyes, Quinn giving her wife a nod before leaving the livingroom and heading into the kitchen where Brittany's laptop is sitting on the table, but no Olivia.

"Olivia!" she calls out, waiting to hear a reply from whichever room the young girl was in. She frowns when she gets no reply, calling out again. Santana enters the kitchen with a concerned look gracing her features.

"What's up?" the latina asks gently, expecting to hear that Olivia had been sassing Quinn again as she had been for the last few days. She doesn't get a response and she watches as Quinn checks all the room in the house, growing more frustrated with every empty room she finds.

"She left" Quinn spits out storming back down the stairs to her wife and into the living room. "Guys could you watch him for a little while, we need to go find Olivia, she left"

"You're kidding! Yeah, go we've got him" Brittany urges just as Caleb's screams echo around the room, a high pitched demand for attention.

"He'll be hungry" Quinn sighs, taking Caleb into her arms and gently rocking him.

"It's ok, you feed him and I'll go with Santana, Brittany doesn't like it if I see another woman's boobs anyway" Adam smirks, trying to lighten the situation and failing miserably.

Adam keeps his eyes trained on the road as he slowly drives around Lima, he can almost feel the anger radiating from his sister and chooses to stay silent, not trusting himself to say something that won't set her off. Santana's cell blares in the silent care, the latina answering it instantly, he listens as she talks to the person on the other end of the call, hearing that Olivia is with them.

"Puck and Rachel's" Santana tells Adam after ending the call, immediatly speed dialling Quinn. "Hey, she's with Rachel, I'll get Adam to drop us off at home and meet you there" the latina tells her wife, hanging up after her response.

"You ok?" Adam asks gently, glancing at his irate sister.

"No, my kid ran away from us and would rather talk to fucking Berry! No I would say I'm not ok Adam!" Santana snaps, glaring out of the window. "I would do anything for her and she hates me"

"She doesn't hate you San, she's upset. She's never had to share anything before and now she's learning to share all the people she loves" Adam firmly tells her, "No-one could ever say that Olivia doesn't love you and Quinn." Santana offers her big brother a small smile, surprised that the biggest goof-ball she knew could be so heart felt.

"Thanks" she murmers, turning to stare back out of the window. The rest of the ride to Rachel and Puck's apartment was quiet, Santana too deep in her own thoughts. Adam decides to wait in the car while Santana walks up to the apartment.

"She's in the living room" Rachel tells her as she opens the door, Santana immediately walking past her to where Olivia is sitting on the beige sofa.

"Let's go" the latina orders, "We'll talk at home" she snaps, laying a firm smack to Olivia's backside as the girl trudges past her. "Thanks for calling" she adds to Rachel as she follows her daughter out of the apartment.
