Hello again.
So moving day is coming very quickly. I'm hoping to post at least one more chapter before I head to my new home. But just in case something happens I want to let everyone know that I will be back. If you don't see a new chapter for a couple weeks please don't worry. I promise I will be back, I already have at least ten more chapters already written.
As always thank you for reading and reviewing.
Hannah felt light tapping on her shoulder. Opening her eyes a little she saw Logan standing beside her bed. "Good morning Little One."
Logan looked over at Sam. "Uncle's back doesn't look very good."
"It doesn't feel to good Little Man." Sam's breath caught as he tried to move.
Hannah carefully slipped out of bed pulling on a robe. "And what are you doing in here?"
"Ethan is awake and asking for you." Logan explained. "When I glanced in I saw Uncle Sam's back and didn't think it would be a good idea to let him in."
"I'm sorry to say you are very right." Sam gasped again.
"Kaden is keeping him in our room but I'm afraid he might start crying and wake up Papa, Dad and Mo…Kathy."
Hannah hid a smile at Logan's slip. "And I'm guessing that you three are hungry."
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay let me check on my patients and I'll be right down. Can you two get Ethan downstairs for me?"
"Sure thing Aunty." Logan said. "I hope your better soon Uncle Sammy."
"You and me both." Sam said trying to sit up again.
"Uhm Logan maybe you could help me with your Uncle first." Hannah said. Logan nodded coming over to the edge of the bed. It took both of them to get him to a sitting position. "Sam you might…"
Sam shook his head. "I'll be fine Hannah." Sam ruffled Logan's hair. "Thanks for the hand buddy now scoot."
"Okay Uncle, but don't move around too fast." Logan said, giving Sam a look of concern before leaving the room.
Hannah waited until Logan closed the door before she faced her husband. "Sam is it hurting worse?"
Sam pushed himself off the bed steadying himself. "A little." Sam slowly made his way to the bathroom. Thankful that Dad had insisted they have the master bedroom. He paused at the door and looked back at Hannah. "I promise that if it gets too bad I will let you know. Please go check on Dean."
Hannah nodded slightly as she left the room. She knew there was no point in pushing him. Out of all the Winchesters Sam was by far the most stubborn. Knocking slightly at Dean's door she opened it a crack. She was very pleased to see Dean sitting up in the bed. Stepping in Hannah saw Kathy laying on the bed beside Dean her head on his leg. His arm was draped over her shoulder.
"Feeling better." Hannah asked in a low whisper.
Dean nodded. "A little sore and my heads spinning slightly."
Hannah glanced at Kathy and smiled. "You are probably sore because you picked her up."
Dean smiled. "Could be."
"I'm heading down to fix breakfast you two coming down?"
"You need any help?" Kathy asked tilting her head slightly so she could look at Hannah.
Hannah laughed at the shocked look on Dean's face before answering. "No I've got the mini Winchesters to help me. If you can take care of the big Winchesters that would be a big help."
Kathy sat up. "I'm thinking I'm getting the short end of that stick."
Hannah shrugged. "Dad just had a few bruises and a bad cut on his arm. This one just needs some food and he'll be fine."
Dean looked at Hannah concern instantly on his face. "What about Sam?"
Hannah sighed. "When he fell through the floor his back got tore up pretty bad. It's hurting more than he will admit."
"I'll check on him." Dean said.
Hannah nodded; she knew Dean was the only one Sam would really listen to. "He's probably going to need help dressing. But we need to get another look to make sure I didn't miss any wood pieces."
"Got it"
Hannah left the room almost bumping into John. "Breakfast in about thirty minutes."
"Everything okay?"
"Sam is being a stubborn ass but other than that everything's fine." Hannah headed down the stairs she found the three boys in the kitchen Ethan sitting in his high chair a Sippy cup in hand. "Logan you are wonderful." Hannah said kissing Logan's check.
"Kaden helped me."
Hannah kissed Kaden's check. "You are also wonderful. So what do we want for breakfast?"
"Uhm can we have waffles?" Kaden asked hesitantly.
Hannah clapped her hands. "Exactly what I was thinking they are easy and fast. Logan you get the waffle irons. Kaden get me the milk and eggs out of the fridge. I'll get everything else."
Logan and Kaden rushed to do as they were told. Soon the boys was sitting down to piping hot waffles slathered in butter and syrup. Hannah placed glasses of milk in front of them.
"Thank you ma'am." Kaden said taking a drink.
Hannah sat down next to Kaden. "You know we're family now so you can call me Hannah."
Kaden smiled. "C…can I call you…" Kaden glanced at Logan who nodded. "Can I call you Aunty?"
"I would completely love for you to call me Aunty." Hannah said smiling.
John came in and sat down next to Kaden. "So what's for breakfast?"
"Waffles sir." Kaden said. Logan poked him and mouthed 'Papa'. Kaden shrugged going back to eating.
Hannah sat a plate in front of John full of waffles and sausage. "The boys didn't want to take up valuable waffle room with meat. Are the others coming down?"
"Kathy should be down in a moment. The last I saw Dean he was headed into your room." John explained. "From the look on his face he meant business."
Hannah explained to John and the boys what had happened to Sam the night before. "I saw him this morning he looked real bad Papa."
John nodded as he ate. "After Dean gets through with him we'll see what needs to be done."
"Uhm Hannah could I see you in the living room please?" Kathy said poking her head in.
"Sure thing" Hannah removed the waffles and placed them on the table. She then followed Kathy out into the living room. "Is everything okay?"
"I'm not really familiar with this neighborhood." Kathy walked over to the window and peaked out. "Come look at this?"
Hannah walked over and looked out the window. She saw the normal Friday end of school happenings. There were kids running everywhere. A tired looking mother sat on the porch watching her kids. Nothing seemed odd to her until she saw a man standing on the corner.
"The man on the corner?" Hannah looked at Kathy. "He's probably just lost."
"I thought that too but what about the blue van?"
Hannah looked at Kathy surprised. "How did you know a blue van just passed by?"
"Because I saw it pass by three times before I came and got you." Kathy said. "What are we going to do Hannah? Dean and Sam are in no condition to fight anything worse than an imaginary friend."
"Some imaginary friends are worse than the fiercest Wendigo." Dean said as he came down the stairs. "Oh and by the way I'm going to kill your husband Hannah."
"I'm sure he deserves it." Hannah's voice calm. "Dean look out the window and tell me what you see."
Dean did as she asked. After a few moments he stepped back and looked at the two women. "A stranger on the corner and a blue van that's past way too many times." Kathy and Hannah nodded. "Damn, Dad you better get in here."
John calmly came into the living room. "Everything okay?"
Dean told him what was happening outside. "I get the strange feeling that our house is being cased."
"Uhm the guy is heading this way." Kathy had returned to looking out the window. "And the blue van has stopped right in front of the house."
Before anyone could do anything there was a pounding on the door. John walked over peaked out the spy hole before opening the door. "Whatever you're selling I'm not interested in buying."
The man held out his hand. "Harvelle, Bill Harvelle."
John looked at the outstretched hand then back at the man before him. "You said that like I'm supposed to know you, well I don't, now what?"
Bill lowered his hand and tried to look into the house but John kept the door closed. "A friend of mine thought he recognized the black car."
"There are a lot of black cars." John said his voice low.
Afraid of what might happen Kathy stepped forward and placed her hand on John's shoulder. "Everything is taken care of here Mr. Harvelle."
"And who are you?"
"Let's just say I've heard of you and you're family." Kathy said smiling. "Maybe you've heard of mine. Does the name Winchester mean anything to you?"
Bill looked at John taking a step back. "No shit. You're John Winchester?"
"I am"
Holding out his hand again Bill smiled. "It is an honor to meet you." Kathy nudged John and he took the other man's offered hand. "I got a call that there might be something going on in town. If I had known you were in town I wouldn't have even bothered. If you're ever in Nebraska look me up Harvelle Roadhouse."
"Thanks I'll keep that in mind." Bill nodded at Kathy before turning and walking to the van. He climbed in the blue van and it drove off. John looked up and down the street and was glad to see nothing else out of the ordinary. Closing the door he gave Kathy a stern look. "What was that all about? We didn't know who or what he was."
Kathy faced John head on. "His name is William Harvelle married to Ellen. They have two daughters Joanna Beth and Charlotte Ann, but they go by Jo and Charlie. He started hunting after his mother was attacked by a werewolf. His wife is from a family of hunters. They own a bar in Nebraska where hunters hang out. Including my father."
John could see Dean standing behind Kathy his son had a stupid grin on his face. Crossing his arms he looked back at Kathy. "Fine but from now on you need to be more careful."
Kathy nodded. "Yes sir."
"Well now that, that crisis has been taken care of." Hannah said heading to the stairs. "If you will excuse me I think I should go check on my husband before Dean kills him. Kathy will you be able to serve you and Dean?"
"No problem at all dear. And I'll hold Dean down here."
As Hannah passed John he stopped her. "Let me know if you need me to step in."
"I'm hoping not to have to go that far." Hannah headed up the stairs. She paused at her door readying herself for a fight. She wasn't sure why but she couldn't shake the uneasy feeling she was having. Pushing open the door she looked inside surprised not to see Sam right away. Walking into the room she saw him slumped over a chair. Rushing over she knelt beside him brushing his hair back. "Sam come on baby let me see those beautiful eyes." She leaned forward and kissed his forehead instantly feeling the heat. She forced herself to stay calm as she stood and looked at his bare back. Gently she reached out and touched the angry red marks. They too were hot. "But this shouldn't make you like this. Oh darling what is happening?" Hannah studied the marks closer. "Dear lord why didn't I see that last night." Hannah rushed to the door. "Dad!"
In seconds John was running into the room. "What is it?"
"Are you sure that they were all skinwalkers?" Hannah asked as she stood behind Sam. "Please Dad it's important."
John thought. "The two I fought defiantly were. And you saw what happened to Dean. Sam got separated from us I heard the floor give way. When it was all over I found Dean bleeding. I called for Sam he answered me and after a few moments there he was. What's wrong Hannah?"
"I thought all the marks were from the fall through the floor." Hannah said gently touching one of the marks. "But this is a claw mark. The problem is I think it's infected."
John walked over and looked down at his son's back. He could clearly see a strange liquid at the edges of a couple of the worse marks. "Should we take him to the hospital?"
"No" Sam whispered trying to move.
Hannah dropped to his side trying to hold him still while not touching his back. "Sh, Sam you're running a fever and…"
Sam shook his head turning so he could look up at his father. "No hospital Dad."
John looked at his son then at Hannah's pleading face. "Okay for now no hospital, but if you get any worse…"
Sam nodded weakly. "Water."
"Hannah you get the water and the others while I get him back into bed." John ordered. Hannah stood and looked pleadingly at John one last time before leaving the room. Sighing John leaned over getting his arm under his son as best he could. As he tried to pull up to standing Sam hissed. "Sorry Sammy"
"It's okay" Sam groaned out. "Just…fast…"
Understanding John quickly pulled his son up and moved him to the bed. As gently as he could he laid him out making sure to keep him on his stomach. John could now get a better look at the damage to his son's back and he could clearly see that it wasn't good. At least four of the marks had the strange liquid around it. "Damn it Sam why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"D'n" Sam said weakly.
John turned at the small noise from behind him. Hannah stood at the door Ethan in her arms. "He insisted on seeing Sam."
"Dada" Ethan said reaching his hands out toward Sam.
"It…'kay" Sam said turning a little.
Nodding Hannah walked to the bed. "Now remember what I said. Daddy has very bad owies on his back. So be very careful."
Ethan nodded and Hannah placed her son on the bed. The little boy carefully moved closer to Sam. Sam turned his head so he could look at his son. Ethan slowly laid out, his face inches from Sam's. "Daddy pain?"
Sam forced a small smile. "Little"
Reaching up his small hand Ethan laid it on Sam's check. "Mommy make better."
John turned to face Dean and Kathy who now stood in the doorway with Logan and Kaden. "We need to find out what the hell that was he tangled with, now."
