Special thanks to:
Hellfireincubus: haha I hope that this chapter lives up to the hype and that you enjoy the Panzer Soldat, one of the best zombie bosses in my opinion. I am glad you are enjoying this fanfic.
DeadlyWhisper25: I'm glad you like the story! If you remember the Origins chapter I did I wrote about the Origins crew, with my own spin on it in that the 1.0 Crew are the Origins crew as well, but they were actually younger in Origins and are now older in the 40s/50s. However that's not to say that the Origins crew might not make another appearance…
AdrianSparda0120: I'm glad you liked last chapter.
xTacoKid135x: Here's the update pal haha hope you like it.
Guest reviewer: Hi great to have you on board with this fic, I'm happy you're enjoying it. In regards to the characters from Ghosts, I've said a couple of times in my authors notes that due to the sheer amount of characters I already have (Including planned ones) (Which has its struggles as it is) I just cannot incorporate any of the characters from Ghosts, Advanced warfare, Bo3 Campaign (Multiplayer) or Infinite warfare and do any of them justice and give you a good quality story. Sorry for any disappointment. It'd be awesome if you did some fan art of this! If you do please PM them, I'd love to see it :)
Anyway folks, I'm just letting you know that my next update won't be for a while as the next two chapters go together really so I'll post them both at the same time.
please don't forget to R&R or PM me with any comments , looking forward to hearing about it!
BTW: Here's the song that goes with this chapter if you would like to listen to it : watch?v=rDtDKuOGE40
Chapter 36: Never give up and die.
"Hahaha man I freaking love this thing!" Private Miller laughed as he blasted his Ray Gun at a group of enemy soldiers, leaving behind a smouldering mess. He and the majority of the Heroes followed Captain Price and Major Morozov through Domodedovo International airport where the team had landed when they first arrived in Moscow.
The airport turned Air Force base was as chaotic, if not more so, than the Capital city. Spotlights shone into the sky illuminating the dogfights between enemy Jets and the defending Russians, while lower down both Hostile and friendly Helicopters hovered around fighting one another and occasionally swooping down for a bombing run. Russian anti-air guns fired salvos into the war torn sky.
On the ground throughout the base enemy forces battled with the Russian defenders, Tanks and other armoured vehicles rolled around blasting their high calibre weaponry, ripping soldiers apart. Zombies, Hellhounds, Nova zombies, Jumping Jacks, and Flying Monkey zombies were running rampant through the compound, attacking anything deemed an enemy by Samantha.
After their team had split into three groups, with some going to find Rosie's tech in the Kremlin, while others went to the hotel they were staying at to retrieve essential gear, Captain Price and Major Morozov lead the rest of the group to secure transport to escape the city. After leaving the trucks they had used to get to the airport the team were joined by about 10 or so more Russians from Morozov's unit.
"Keep moving! Don't lag behind!" Price called over the noise of the battle, firing his SCAR-L at a group of charging zombies, cutting them down.
"Die mother fuckers! Die! Die!" Billy Handsom shouted, unleashing a bullet storm from his LSAT into a squad of enemy Russians; "Boy does it feel good killing actual people again instead of just shamblers"
"It's always about the killing with you isn't it Handsom?" Weasel asked in annoyance, firing his AK-47.
"What? A man has a job to do" Billy smirked.
"Morozov, how much further is this transport!?" Price demanded the Major.
"We're nearly there; look you can see the Helicopters over there!" Morozov snapped back, pointing to a couple of transport Helicopters.
"Is two going to be enough for everyone?" Misty, who was behind the two leaders, asked, concerned that there weren't more Helicopters.
"Now Misty, if I am correct in thinking, those are Russian Mil-26 Helicopters" Marlton smiled, adjusting his glasses as they ran; "Each 40.025 Meters long, 8.145 high, max speed of 183 miles per hour, weighing on its own at 62,170 pounds, and capable of taking a cargo of 44,090 pounds on top of that, or instead of that 90 troops, not including the five man crew it takes to operate it" the young nerd looked excitedly at Misty, but saw that his talk had lost her; "Uh ahem, in other words yes, yes two will be more than adequate" he corrected himself.
"That all I wanted to know" Misty sighed, blasting a zombie in the face with her Remington 870 Shotgun.
A couple of minutes later the team had arrived at the Helicopters, which were being defended by 10 more of Morozov's unit, including the pilot Sergey.
"Major Morozov sir, the Helicopters are prepped and ready for take-off!" Sergey called over to the Russian Major, spotting him and the rest of the Heroes approaching.
"Good well done" Morozov slapped a hand on the pilot's shoulder, watching Lara, who had Sadie, walk the Great Dane into one of the Helicopters; "We're not leaving yet though, we need to wait for the Arkwright's and the other Heroes to get back"
"Sir?" Sergey questioned, confused.
"The city is going to fall, so we're getting the Call of Duty Heroes out, being as they are still the best chance we have against Samantha" Morozov began to explain; "However they needed to recover their gear first, particularly the Hacker's tech, so Kelly and Emily have taken two groups, one to the Kremlin, the other to the hotel, to get the stuff. We need to hold out until they get back" Morozov turned to Price, who along with the others were fighting back the enemy hoards; "Price, have you heard from any of your men?"
"No not yet!" Price shouted back. The British Captain reached for his radio; "Alright everyone, this is Price, my group has made it to the airport, there is heavy fighting here! How is everyone else looking!?"
-"Cap, Dempsey here, yeah we're trapped in the President's office at the moment, but it's nothing we can't get out of" the Marine answered down the radio.
"Be sure that you do Dempsey, I don't want to have to come back and save your arses, keep me posted" Price told the American.
-"Roger that" Dempsey answered.
"How's things at the hotel guys?" Price asked the second group, switching to their frequency only however he only got silence; "Ghost? Evan? Someone talk to me" again only silence; "Hotel team respond!" Price demanded, getting worried now.
-"Price, give us a minute, we've got a situation here! Watch ou-...!" Ghost snapped over the radio, a machine like sound in the background along with gunfire and bangs, before he cut off.
"Ghost! What's going on!?" Price shouted, really worried now.
-"Ve're fighting a Panzer Soldat!" Richtofen answered sharply.
"What the hell is th-...?" Price began to ask when suddenly a siren sounded, and something huge slammed into the ground a few yards away from the Heroes.
The large robotic mechanoid straightened up, mechanical claw clamping a couple of times, and a burst of flame spouting from the arm mounted Flamethrower. Within the confines of the armoured abomination they could see the zombie controller, glaring at them.
"Oh shit" Price groaned.
"What the hell is that!?" Section cried out as the Tank like zombie at the end of the hallway room a couple of thudding steps forward.
"Ze Panzer Soldat!'' Richtofen gulped hard, recognising the monstrosity advancing on them from when he fought in WW1.
"And so the metal abominations come again" Takeo muttered darkly, remembering too his first experience with the Panzer Soldat's on the cold battlefields of Northern France in WW1 alongside Richtofen, Dempsey, and Nikolai.
"I BROUGHT BACK AN OLD FRIEND EDWARD!" Samantha cackled wickedly.
"Shit, open fire!" Foley yelled, raising his SCAR-H and firing at the beast. The others joined him, but to little effect as the Panzer's thick armour just deflected the bullets hitting it.
"Damn we're not even scratching the bastard!" Ghost cursed, reloading his ACR.
The Panzer let out what could almost be perceived as a mechanical roar, before extending its claw arm.
"Vatch out for its claw!" Richtofen cried, just as the undead robot fired it large claw at the group. Richtofen, Takeo, and Foley ducked out of the way.
Jackson however unfortunately wasn't quick enough, and the speeding claw clamped around his waist, making him drop his M4A1, and flung him down the hallway, knocking over Harper and Evan who were behind him.
"Jackson!" Ghost called, looking at the floored soldier.
"Urgh shit..." Jackson groaned, trying to pry the claw clamped tightly around him off.
The Panzer let out a couple of mechanical whirs and clicks, and a red light appeared in the space on its left arm where the claw was.
"What the hell!?" Jackson gasped as the claw shook a little before lifting off the ground, taking the American with it, and began to return back to the Panzer, which had ignited its Flamethrower ready to roast the Marine.
"Scheiße! Shoot ze red light, it vill release him from ze claw!" Richtofen instructed, shooting the Panzer Soldat's magnetic signal. Foley, Takeo, and Section too fired at the red light, while the others tried to slow the claws progress and free Jackson. Pretty quickly though one of the four shooters got lucky and hit the magnetic signal, cutting it off. The Panzer stumbled back for a second, and the claw Jackson was in fell to the ground, releasing him. The Panzer let out another mechanical roar and raised its left arm again, summoning back the now empty claw which sped back to reconnect with the Soldat.
-"Alright everyone this is Price" Captain Price's voice came through their radios, the sound of battle in the back ground; "My group has made it to the airport, there is heavy fighting here! How is everyone else looking?"
The Panzer Soldat gave a couple of robotic creaks and clanks, before charging the group.
"Shit, what kills this thing!?" Emily grunted, jumping back from a powerful swing of the zombie's robotic arm, which slammed into the wall.
"Back up, down the hall!" Section suggested. They ignored Price and Dempsey's radio exchange as the backed down the hallway, firing at the Panzer while dodging its attacks.
-"How's things at the hotel guys?" Price asked the nine of them. Nobody answered however as they were too busy fighting the zombie mechanoid, keeping out of the way of its dangerous claw.
-"Ghost? Evan? Somebody talk to me" Price asked again sounding concerned.
"Gah fuck!" Harper swore as he was thrown back by a powerful swing from the Soldat.
-"Hotel Team respond!" Price persisted worriedly.
Ghost pressed the button on his radio "Price we give us a minute, we've got a situation here!" He snapped. His eyes widened when he saw the Panzer's Flamethrower ignite; "Watch out!" He yelled taking his finger off the button and hitting the deck, along with the others as the robotic zombie sent a torrent of flame down the hallway, narrowly missing the Heroes, singeing more than a few hairs.
-"Ghost! What's going on!?" Price shouted, unknowing what was happening.
"Ve're fighting a Panzer Soldat!" Richtofen snapped impatiently down his radio, springing to his feet.
-"What the hell is th-...?" Price began to ask, but cut off.
The group didn't have time to question as the Panzer attacking them activated its jetpack and launched itself down the hall.
"Rooms!" Foley shouted, quickly barging through a door. The others either joined him or burst into their own rooms, just in time as the Soldat sped past and smashed through the hotel wall and outside.
"We in the clear?" Evan asked, hearing only the crackly of the flames in the hallway.
"I don't know why don't you check it out?" Harper panted from another room.
Evan swallowed hard and poked his head out of the room he was in and looked down the hall to see if the Panzer was anywhere in sight. He was about to give the all clear when his eyes widened in horror as undead automaton suddenly came into view outside, propelled by its jetpack it let out a moan before blasting its Flamethrower down the hall.
"No! No it's not clear at all!" Evan shouted as the flames set anything in its path more ablaze.
"So what's the plan here guys? Cause we're in a bit of a bind here" Roach asked, leaning against the sofas and tables that were blocking the door into the Presidential office in the Kremlin. Outside the sound of zombies battering on the door was prominent.
"Yeah, and if Kelly is right about the enemy going to get breaching charges we might not have much time as it is" Soap noted.
"Well like the German said, the only way of escape is through the window" Reznov reminded them as he helped Roach hold the barricade in place.
"Yeah and I don't really fancy our chances with that to be honest" Rosie said sceptically, looking outside the window three stories up; "Maxis you sure there isn't any other way out of this office?" She asked the disembodied scientist.
-"I am afraid not Rosie, I have given ze building a thorough scan, and even looked into ze floor schematics and found nothing" Maxis explained.
"Looks like we're going to have to fight our way out then" Kelly frowned; "How we doing for ammo?"
"Ain't got anything in my Lamentation, so I only got my CZ75 left" Dempsey answered, waving his Pistol.
"I got a few mags left, and my Ranger is pretty full too with some backup shells" Soap said, referring to his RSASS hybrid sight Sniper Rifle, and the Shotgun on his back.
"My PPSH is running low, although I still have plenty of ammo for my Mosin Nagant" Reznov informed, checking his guns.
"I've got enough to go by" Roach answered.
"Me too" Rosie added.
"Nikolai is pretty full too, but is running low on vodka" the drunken Russian chimed.
"We may have enough to get out of here, but I don't know if we'll be able to make it to the airport though" Kelly grimaced.
-"Alright everyone this is Price" the heard the British Captain's voice through the radio, gunfire and shouts in the background; "My group has made it to the airport, there is heavy fighting here! How is everyone else looking!?"
Dempsey grabbed his radio; "Cap, Dempsey here, yeah we're trapped in the President's office at the moment, but, it's nothing we can't get out of"
-"Be sure that you do Dempsey, I don't want to have to come back and save your arses, keep me posted" Price ordered.
"Roger that" Dempsey answered before putting his radio down; "Alright we need to get out of here fast, any ideas?"
"Wait, Maxis can you give us a Power-Up?" Roach asked, an idea beginning to form in his head.
"Da, one of those ammo boxy thingies would be good to fill up my vodka" Nikolai smiled.
"Shut it Nikolai, it's your fault we're in this mess!" Dempsey snapped grumpily.
"Dempsey why must you give me all the blame?" Nikolai slurred; "As Communist I believe in sharing, therefore it's all our fault we're in this mess"
"You really are deluded aren't you?" Reznov muttered incredulously, shaking his head.
"I'm gonna kill him, I mean it, I'll kill that drunk bastard" Dempsey fumed, walking to the other side of the room to stop himself from strangling Nikolai.
"Shut up!" Roach yelled; "Maxis, the Power-Up?"
-"I might be able to help, but it is a fight against Samantha to give you one" Maxis answered; "Even then, I cannot guarantee which zombie it vill come from"
"That fine, I have an idea" Roach grinned; "Dempsey, Soap, I'm gonna need you two" he turned to the two soldiers.
"Sure kid, what do you want us to do?" Dempsey asked walking over to the 141 soldier.
"Ok so the hole the zombies made is still in the door" Roach began to explain; "We're gonna make some space, and Dempsey you're gonna pull a zombie through into the room, Soap you'll shoot the zombie in the head with your Shotgun, and we'll keep going until we get a Power-Up"
"Nice! Smart thinking" Soap commended.
"Alright, Maxis you ready to try?" Roach asked as he and Reznov got ready to quickly move the sofa out of the way. Kelly, Rosie, and Nikolai stood at the ready in case things went pear shaped.
-"Let's give it a go" Maxis replied.
Roach and Reznov pulled the sofa out of the way, while Dempsey grabbed the arm of a reaching zombie and pulled it into the room. Rosie, Kelly, and Nikolai shot at the other zombies trying to climb in as Roach and Reznov put the sofa back in place.
Dempsey slammed a foot on the zombie's back; "Soap kill it!"
The Scotsman placed his double barrelled Ranger Shotgun on the back of the zombie's head and fired splattering it's brain contents all over the floor.
"Dammit, nothing" Roach frowned.
-"I'm sorry this is not easy" Maxis apologised.
"It's fine, we try again" Kelly said readying herself to keep the hoards at bay.
The seven of them went through the motions of killing zombies in this fashion two or three more times, but each had no result.
"Fuck sake, come on you sons of a bitches drop something!" Dempsey yelled angrily.
"We need to hurry up, I think I saw the enemy soldiers at the end of the hall with the breaching charges" Kelly warned.
"Alright, one more time, otherwise we'll have to set up defensive positions" Soap suggested.
Roach and Reznov one last time lifted the sofa away revealing the hole. Dempsey lunged forward again and pulled a particularly mangled looking zombie into the room with such ferocity that he accidentally tore the corpse's arm off.
"Don't worry he's 'armless hehe" the Marine chuckled, hitting the zombie down with its own arm.
"I would hurry up and kill it, I can hear those enemy Russians" Roach advised backing away as he heard the soldiers pushing through the zombies to plant the charges.
Soap aimed his Ranger at the downed zombie and blasted it's head off ending it. As soon as the zombie died a glowing Power-Up appeared above its body. Unlike the ones they had received before though this one had a blue glow about it and looked like a bunch of bullets all pointing the same direction.
"Oh there is a god!" Dempsey cheered tears of joy almost in his eyes as he stretched out a hand to the Power-Up.
"DEATH MACHINE!" The Demonic voice announced as a large Minigun materialised in Dempsey's hands.
"Oh... yeah" The Maine grinned wickedly as he turned around slowly to face the barricaded doorway, Minigun spinning up.
"Oh shit" Price groaned as the robotic zombie that had landed a few yards away straightened up menacingly.
"What in holy hell is that!?" Corporal Dunn cried out, horrified.
"I think that's what Doctor meant by Panzer Soldat! Open fire!" Price shouted turning his sights onto the steel armoured zombie. Dunn, Ramirez, Morozov, Sullivan, and Roebuck all turned to fire on the tank like zombie to little avail. The Panzer charged straight for the group clanking as it went.
"Jeez we're just wasting bullets here!" Ramirez grunted, backing away as the Soldat got closer.
"Watch out for that burner!" Roebuck warned as the automaton lit up its Flamethrower and aimed it at them, and let forth a furious blaze. Before the flames could even reach them though an icy blizzard doused them.
"You need to cool off metal head" President Kennedy glared at the Panzer, Winters Fury in hand, he then looked at the others he'd just saved; "I honestly had no idea that would work" he laughed. The Panzer let out a robotic roar and ready it's Flamethrower again.
"I don't think so marble eyes!" Kennedy yelled, firing a blizzard out of his Wonder Weapon at the Panzer's arm mounted weapon encasing it in ice.
"Shoot the visor, concentrate your fire!" Price shouted, as he fired at the distracted Soldat's helmet. The others who were fighting the Panzer all opened fire. Under the immense bullet storm the Panzer's visor cracked and broke, sparks shot out from the headpiece, and steam billowed out, and the front part of the helmet tore off as it malfunctioned revealing the now vulnerable zombie's head.
The enraged Panzer let out another mechanical roar before pointing its fierce claw at them and firing it. The Heroes leapt out of the way, however Morozov was unfortunate enough to get caught by it as it clamped around his waist and floored him.
"Urgh der'mo!" Morozov cursed, dropping his assault rifle and clutching the claw, trying free himself from it. The Panzer let out a couple of clicks and a red light appeared in the socket where the claw was.
"What!?" Morozov cried as the claw he was trapped in lifted off the ground and began returning to its owner.
"Bugger! Keep it occupied!" Price barked as he ran and grabbed hold of the claw Morozov was in to try and free him.
"Kennedy keep that Flamethrower frozen!" Sullivan told the President as he and the others went from distracting the Panzer to dealing with the zombie reinforcements that had begun to turn up. Kennedy blasted another blizzard from His Winters Fury encasing the Flamethrower in a block of ice disabling it.
"Shit, it's not going to budge" Price grunted as he tried to pull the claw open.
"Just leave me!" Morozov told the Captain.
"No, I have an idea" Price refused, instead looking at the Soldat, and pulling out his Desert Eagle. The claw snapped back into the empty socket of the Panzer's arm. The robotic zombie turned its Flamethrower to them and made an attempt to roast the two leaders, but couldn't due to the weapon being frozen. The zombie controller gave a hiss before igniting its jetpack boosters.
"Whatever you're going to do Captain do it fast, this thing is going to drop us from a height!" Morozov told Price.
"Eat this you bastard!" Price growled, placing his high calibre Pistol against the zombie's exposed head as they began to lift off the ground. He fire four rounds into the zombie's head blowing the back of its skull out. The light of the zombie's eyes died, and claw Morozov was trapped in sprung open dropping him ten foot up to the ground. Price leapt from the still ascending zombie's corpse and landed roughly next to Morozov. The Soldat's corpse headed up for a couple of seconds before tilting out of control and landed in a fiery explosion on the ground.
"You didn't have to do that, risk your life for me like that" Morozov panted, getting up and offering his hand to Price.
"A simple thank you would suffice" Price grunted, taking the hand helping him up.
"That might have to wait till we get out of here" Morozov said, pulling out his own Pistol, noting the amount of zombies heading their way. They then heard more sirens go off.
"Great" Price groaned as three more Panzer Soldats dropped down from the sky.
Jackson, who was in a room closest to the wall beach, winced as he saw the flames blasting down the hallway. When the firestorm had subsided the American soldier was about to check out in the hallway, when suddenly the steel clad zombie burst through the outside wall of the room he was in.
"Shit!" The young Marine cursed his luck as the Panzer grabbed him with its claw. Seeing that it had lit up its Flamethrower he grabbed his pistol and put it against the glass visor of the Panzer's helmet and fired a couple of shots. A gust of steam shot out of the helmet, as well as a few sparks, and the covering came loose from the frame it was connected to. Jackson seeing an opportunity took hold of the helmet face and pulled, prying it off a bit more.
Enraged the Panzer let out a roar before using its enhanced strength to throw the Marine through the plaster board wall into the neighbouring room that Ghost was in.
"Bloody hell!" Ghost cried, helping Jackson up, and seeing that the Panzer, which had shedded its loose face piece, was aiming it's Flamethrower at them.
Just as it was about to incinerate the two soldiers Takeo charged in from the hallway, Katana drawn, and at the Soldat. With one swift cut the Samurai sliced through the fuel tubes on the Flamethrower cutting off its supply.
"Run!" The Japanese warrior shouted at them jumping out of the way of the Panzer's claw. The three of them ran out into the blazing hallway and were joined by the others.
"Shit we need to get out of here!" Harper winced at the intense heat.
"To the stairs" Foley told them.
Evan who was at the back of the group span round in horror as the Panzer burst out of the room it was in, looking ferocious. The teen wasn't quick enough to grab his Commando from his back as the Panzer swung its vicious claw and flung him through the door of another room, winding him.
"Evan!" Section yelled, seeing the Panzer march into the room where the teenager was in.
Evan coughed a couple times, clutching his bruising ribs. Looking up he saw the Panzer Soldat looming over him, ready for the kill.
"Hey asshole!" A voice behind the mechanoid yelled. The Panzer turned slowly round to glare at Section who was in the doorway, a flaming brand in hand; "Have a light" the SEAL team Commander quipped dropping the brand into the fuel trail that the Panzer's ruptured tubes had leaked setting it alight. The flames rushed up the trail and up into the still leaking lines setting the Soldat on fire.
"Oh shit, Evan get to cover!" Section yelled as he realised that the Panzer's jetpack was beginning to set on fire, as well as the fuel tanks which were on the Panzer's back facing Evan.
Evan scrambled to his feet and leapt towards the bathroom just as the Panzer's jetpack and fuel tanks exploded. Evan was thrown by the shockwave into the bathroom, smashing him into the mirror above the sink, and dropping with a thud.
"Urgh shit..." the blue eyed teenager groaned groggily, feeling thoroughly beaten up. Reaching out blindly he grabbed hold of the toilet flusher chain. The chain snapped off as he tried to pull himself up causing the toilet to start flushing. Shaking his head Evan got to his feet, and looked at the chain in his hand.
Suddenly as the toilet stopped flushing a guitar riff and music sounded in the air.
"Evan, you ok? What the hell is that music?" Section asked from the bedroom door.
Evan quickly pocketed the chain and hobbled out into the kindling corridor, stepping over the hunk of metal that was left of the Panzer Soldat. He looked at the others with a smile; "Yeah I'm fine, and I found one of the hidden songs from the Zombie's game mode" He explained; "This one is called Lullaby of a Dead Man from the map Verrückt"
"Hmm even ze songs have followed us into this realm, how fascinating" Richtofen mused as the intro music continued.
"We'll talk about it later, let's just get out of here" Foley told them, noting the blaze in the hallway getting larger. The group moved to the stairs just as the voice of Elena Siegman began singing.
'Life is still spinning, your end my beginning, and everything I hoped for has been strangely set aside'
"Uh we got zombies!" Emily warned, spotting a hoard of zombies charging up the stairs towards them.
"Bollocks fall back to the next floor! Ghost cursed firing his ACR as the group retreated down the hall to the next floor up.
'Reason for living, my mind is forgiving, and destiny is proving to be absent from my life'
The Russian Ultranationalist's, after finally pushing through the zombies, began placing the breaching charges on the barricade in front of the President's office.
Before the charge could even detonate however a sudden barrage of bullets tore through the barricade, ruining the charges, and ripping apart soldiers and zombies alike in the hallway.
Tank Dempsey kicked the remains of their blockade away as he and the others exited the room.
"Heh hey hidden song" Nikolai grinned, as the heard the lyrics to Lullaby of a Dead Man.
"Ah Elena you never disappoint" Dempsey smirked, revving up His Death Machine again as he lead the group down the corridor.
Dempsey continued firing the Minigun and its unlimited amount of ammo into any enemy that got in his way. He tore apart a group of zombies screaming towards him, rendering flesh from bone as his bullet barrage ripped through them. In the middle of the fallen bodies floated a golden green glowing ammo box.
-"This should aid you" Maxis said through the Tech Buddy"
Dempsey grabbed the ammo box just as his Death Machine ran out of time and disappeared.
"MAX AMMO!" The demonic voice announced, and the team felt their ammo refilling. They weren't the only ones though.
'I know it, I feel it'
'I know when you're sleeping! I know the things you're dreaming, and I know you will never give up and die'
Price stepped out of the way of a flying claw, blasting a couple zombies down with his Desert Eagle for good measure; 'This just keeps getting weirder and weirder...' he thought to himself hearing the music in the air.
"MAX AMMO!" The Demonic announcer cried.
"Nice, refill!" Dunn cheered as they felt their ammo top up.
"We need to deal with those robot freaks!" Samuel Stuhlinger yelled, narrowly avoiding getting roasted by a Panzer Soldat's Flamethrower.
"Miller, Polonsky, use your Ray Guns boys!" Sgt. Sullivan suggested to the two soldiers.
Miller and Polonsky both aimed their Ray Guns at the nearest Panzer Soldat which was terrorising Farid, Lara and Rooker. Pulling the trigger the two of them both sent rings of green plasma blasting into the automaton. The Panzer's steel armour proved very durable against the Wonder Weapon blasts, however Polonsky scored a couple of hit on it's power core and suddenly electric fire erupted out of the Panzer, and a second later it fell down dead with an explosion, leaving twisted wreck in its place.
"One down two to go" Miller smirked, setting his sights on the next Soldat.
'Conscious fulfilling. The darkness revealing, all thoughts and insecurities are shining like the sun'
"How many of them are there!?" Emily roared, firing her AK-12, cutting down zombie after zombie. They had retreated to the next floor of the hotel.
"Doesn't matter just keep fighting!" Foley bellowed over the noise. They were thankful for the Max Ammo they had received earlier otherwise they would've run out by now with the huge hoard of dead assaulting them.
"Watch it we got Hellhounds!" Evan warned, spotting a couple of flaming zombie dogs prowling through the undead wave. The flaming corridor downstairs had set ablaze many zombies, making them doubly dangerous, not to mention the stench of burning rotten flesh was overpowering.
"Mother told me not to hurt animals anymore!" Richtofen screeched, filling a Hellhound with bullets, killing it.
'Eyes are deceiving, your mind will stop breathing, and all that you are made of will now rightly become mine'
"I've killed zombies so long it's surprising when someone shoots back!" Nikolai grunted shooting an enemy Russian before taking a swing of vodka.
"Keep pushing, we're almost through!" Kelly shouted over the noise, shooting zombies and soldiers alike. The seven of them continued to fight back the enemy soldiers and zombies trying to kill them, and managed to make it to the end of the hallway unscathed.
"Down the stairs, let's go!" Soap told them, blasting a zombie back with his Shotgun before leading the way.
When they got to the bottom Rosie saw a couple of Nova Gas zombies crawling along the walls towards them. Whipping out her duel Five Seven's the Hacker fired at both of them at the same time, missing a couple of shots but eventually shooting them off the walls. They landed with a thud on the floor before exploding in a cloud of green toxic gas; "I'm getting the hang of these" the young teen smiled looking at her Pistols.
'You know it, You feel it'
'I know when you're sleeping, I know the things you're dreaming, I love it when you're weeping, even death can't stop this feeling, and I know you will never give up and die'
Miller and Polonsky aimed at the last two Panzer Soldats each. They fired green energised plasma at the tank like zombies. Many of the other Heroes turned the guns on the mechanised abominations too. Eventually one of the Soldats succumbed to the barrage of bullets and plasma, falling in a crumpled heap before its power regulator caused it to explode. The other Panzer let out a roar, fire gushing forth from it's Flamethrower. It activated it's jetpack, and launched from the ground into the sky.
"Damn it, where'd it go!?" Morozov cursed, looking up to the battle torn night sky.
"Forget it, we got more pressing issues" Price told the Russian Major, pointing to enemy soldiers and zombie heading their way.
The two leaders along with the other Heroes and friendly Russians began unleashing a storm of firepower on the hostile forces. Polonsky and Miller made short work of any tanks that rolled their way.
"Frag out!" Price announced pulling the pin off a Grenade and tossing into a crowd. The ensuing explosion sent blood arching, meat, bone, sinew, and ligaments flying.
Decaying flesh of zombies tore as bullets sped through, bursting rotting organs or destroying maimed heads spattering the ground with skull fragments and brain matter, leaving a gaping hole in the neck with blood spewing out.
Enemy soldiers tried yet failed to hinder the Heroes, being thwarted by the bullet storm.
'Father, why have you forsaken me, my life is gone. Father, you know how long it's taken me. I live again'
Those enemy soldiers unfortunate enough to be blasted by a Ray Gun were horrifically mutated, limbs flying off, or chests and heads busting open spilling out their innards. Skin fried and charred, cracking, and turning ashen and flaky. Eyes boiled and popped, and clothes getting singed. Many were just left a smouldering mound of flesh.
Kennedy was equally deadly with his Winters Fury, holding the Wonder Weapon in one hand with his MP5k in the other. The 35th President fired a blizzard at a group of enemies. The icy monsoon swept over the hostiles, encasing them in ice, a couple of the more resilient zombies attempted to keep charging but could only manage a slow stumble their legs stiffened by the cold, while other's legs just broke off.
"You've all been pardoned!" Kennedy announced, turning his MP5K on the macabre frozen statues. Soon the iced bodies shattered into pieces as rapid fire bullets tore through them leaving only the shattered remains of bodies in a broken ice covered pile on the ground.
Lara shot down a couple of zombies, she was making an effort not to kill any living soldiers, she was a healer not a killer. She spotted a group of Samantha's flying zombie monkeys coming in for a swoop. Aiming up she managed to shoot a couple of them down before the rest scattered. She wasn't against putting undead down though. She saw a zombie charging towards her, raising her TAR-21 she pulled the trigger only to receive a dull click. She panicked realising she had run out of ammo in her current clip and didn't have time to reload.
Suddenly Sadie leapt over her and crashed against the zombie, bringing it down. The Great Dane clamped her strong jaws around the zombie's throat and crushed it, killing it.
"Thanks Sadie" Lara panted as she reloaded. The two turned to combat more undead heading their way, and helped the others beat back the undead waves.
Suddenly the Panzer Soldat they had escaped them earlier smashed back down to earth, it's glowing eyes behind the visor flashing furiously.
"Bring that bot down!" Price ordered, turning his SCAR-L to the mech as it charged at them to do battle.
'I know when you're sleeping, I know the things you're dreaming. I know when you're sleeping, I know the things you're dreaming. I love it when you're weeping, even death can stop this feeling'
"Urgh, back of freakbag!" Dempsey roared, kicking a zombie back, and killing it with a couple of shots from his CZ75 Pistol.
"Roach, watch out!" Rosie warned the British soldier, spotting a Nova zombie crawling up to him.
Roach span round and hopped out of the way of the Nova's taloned swipe; "Don't think so pus brains!" He snapped, kicking the mutant in the face, stunning it, before bringing his boot down on it's head crushing it. He looked up just in time to see the bodies of four or five zombies fly back against the wall painting it red with blood.
"Hehe I believe that's what you British people would call 'bloody hell' hehe" Nikolai laughed as he and Soap reloaded their double shelled Shotguns looking at their handiwork.
"Depends on what part of Britain you're from mate" Soap smirked.
Rosie shot down a couple of Nazis that had rounded the corner with her Pistols.
"Fine shooting girl, you have improved since we first met" Reznov complimented.
"Thanks Rez, that means a lot coming from you" Rosie smiled at the Soviet. The two along with the others continued to push towards the lobby of the Kremlin and the exit.
"Come on we're nearly out!" Kelly told them, systematically cutting down enemy after enemy.
-"Before you leave, I have left you something behind ze reception desk that I think might help" Maxis told them through their radios.
"Cool thanks Maxis" Rosie said to the German.
The seven of them finally had a breakthrough managing to run down a couple of hallways. They turned down the hall that would take them to the lobby. Half way down it however they spotted something huge breaking through the glass doors and stomping into the building.
"What the hell is that?" Soap asked wide eyed in horror as the Mechanical creature blocked the exit of the corridor.
"Oh no, not these mech fuckers again" Dempsey groaned, recognising the armoured Panzer Soldat from Northern France.
'I know when you're sleeping, I know the things you're dreaming. I love when you're weeping, even death can't stop the feeling, and I know that you will never give up. No you will never give up. You will never give up and... die'
"By sword and fire you die!" Takeo roared his Katana cutting through the soft decaying, burning flesh of a couple of flaming zombies that got too close. Using his AK-74fu2 in his other hand the Samurai cut down more zombies with the upgraded SMG.
He and the others had positioned themselves at the end of the hotel hallway above the one they had fought the Panzer Soldat in, and fought back the undead waves charging up the stairs.
"Go hump somebody else's leg fido!" Harper growled, kicking a Hellhound that was trying to snap at his legs in the face before putting it down with a few rounds.
"This is getting tight!" Section grunted, slamming the butt of his gun into an approaching zombie's face knocking it's jaw off and part of it's left cheek, forcing it back and then firing into it and a couple of other zombies. He and Jackson unleashed as much lead as they could; bring down as many zombies as they could, only for more to take their place.
A Jumping Jack that was crawling on the ceiling launched itself at Emily, flooring her. The Russian Captain struggled against the mutated abomination trying to devour her. Sgt. Foley sprang into action grabbing the skinny creature, pulling it off Emily, and slamming it against the wall. The American pulled out his combat knife and slammed it into the Jumping Jack's infected heart a couple of times. The Jack howled out in pain, struggling a little, before going limp.
"Thanks" Emily panted getting to her feet.
"Don't mention it" Foley nodded before turning his sights on the zombie's charging down the hall and firing.
"Please form an orderly line, ze Doctor vill see you ONE AT A TIME!" Richtofen bellowed cutting down a bunch of zombies with his AK-74u; "Die Schweinehund!" Whipping out his knife the Scientist decapitated a lunging corpse.
Evan, using his Commando, held down the trigger and sent bullets tearing through the hoard, one zombie close by dropped another Power-Up as it fell dead. The golden item was in the shape of an Atomic bomb, the classic Fat Man design.
Wide eyed, Evan made a grab for the Power-Up. A bright flash filled the room as the Demonic voice hissed; "KABOOM...".
Suddenly all the zombies in front of them came to a halt, clutching their shaking heads shrieking out in agony, bodies that weren't already on fire igniting. Suddenly the walking corpses began convulsing violently, some even vomiting up a black festering contaminate, then immediately afterwards they clutched their heads again before the craniums burst and exploded littering the floor with blood, bones, brain tissue and matter. Charred and blacked headless bodies fell down, Hellhounds burst into pieces. Soon the hallway was full of ruined corpses and body pieces.
The team watched the grizzly sight as the Nuke Power-Up did its work, just as the hidden song finished its last lines.
"Nuke... nice..." Evan gasped breathlessly at the wonton destruction the Power-Up had caused.
"So many body parts... Quick someone get be a bag!" Richtofen demanded gleefully.
"I think I'm gonna be sick..." Jackson grimaced, feeling his stomach turn at the sight and stench.
"Purged by flames" Takeo muttered grimly. The Samurai looked up sharply, eyes narrowing, ears picking up as he heard something metallic scraping up the stairs. Soon the others heard it too. They all got their weapons ready poised to shoot.
A couple of seconds later the ruined form of the Panzer Soldat crested the stairs. It's dark steel armour was blackened and tarnished from the fire and explosion that had ravaged it, sparks and jets of steam shot out of it with each weak movement. It's right arm was missing, probably blown off, a black liquid dribbling out of it, the team couldn't tell if it was contaminated blood, or oil, or something else. It's claw arm hung limply to it's side, still being able to move however. The back of the beast was a mangled mess of twisted metal, open ended wires, and ruptured fuel tubes. The zombie controller groaned weakly, flesh barely clinging onto it's exposed charred skull, glowing yellow eyes flickering faintly.
"Christ, what kills this thing?" Harper asked astounded how the Panzer was still alive as it shuffled towards them, dragging it's heavy feet weakly, metal creaking and clanking heavily.
"It's persistence is admirable I vill give it zhat" Richtofen said, intrigued and somewhat pleased with how durable his creation was.
The Panzer raised it's claw, with what looked like great effort, and aimed it at them.
"Uh shoot it in ze head or ze power core on it's lower left front" Richtofen said quickly knowing that the Soldat was about to fire it's clamp. They opened fire on the wrecked zombie, some aiming for it's head while others at the power core. Unable to withstand the combined assault the Panzer gave into it's fate, light fading from the zombie's eyes as it tilted back and collapsed to the ground with a clang and a dying mechanical moan. The power core blew up, leaving only a smouldering wreck of ruined steel.
Above the Panzer's body to the surprise of the Heroes was a glowing Power-Up. This one was in the image of a large price tag with the word 'SALE!' engaged into it.
"What's this one?" Foley asked interested as he grabbed the item.
"FIRE SALE!" The disembodied voice announced. The group turned round as they heard a sound behind them, followed accompanied by the sound of cheesy 60's music, to see a Mystery Box spawn in, blue glow shooting up into the ceiling.
Evan ran over to the Box, he quickly glanced out the window it was next too and saw similar blue glows situated all over Moscow signalling the location of other Mystery Boxes. Smiling the teen then lifted the lid of the crate that was in front of him. He watched as the box cycled through the weapons it had stored. As the cycle began to slow the teen's heart jumped with excitement as it hovered over an MG42 Light Machine Gun for a second, but sunk with disappoint however as it turned to an SMR Assault Rifle. However just as he resigned himself to the disappointing gun the box cycled one more time. The teen's eyes widened in awe, and a wide grin spread on his face. Losing the MG42 was worth what he had got instead as his hands stretched out shakily for his prize. It looked large and cylindrical, almost cannon like. It was lighter than it looked. There was no ammo box on it, but Evan knew this 'gun' didn't fire bullets. He inserted a thick saucer like cartridge in the back of the device, and two lights which was the ammo counter began to glow.
Evan gripped the weapon, and turned round to the others; "This should turn the odds in our favour" he grinned as he flipped the safety switch, priming the Thundergun in his hands.
