As Lucy took in her surroundings, she felt eyes on her and looked to see master standing next to Porylusica. She pulled her hand from Rogues and tried to push herself into a sitting position, but failed. When Rogue saw what she was doing, he went over to help her but noticed she was not helping at all. As he set her down, she started to slide back down the bed. Rogue watched as she tried to raise her hand to him, and struggled to wiggle her fingers.
"What's wrong with her?" Rogue inquired looking to the healer.
"It seems as though her body accepted the life from her spirits, it had some setbacks as well." The healer replied.
"How do you feel child?" Master asked.
"Weak and extremely tired. My stomach hurts and I feel different but I can't place why."
"Lucy, you are no longer pregnant. In order to save your life along with the lives of our babies, your spirits gave you life which resulted in you have to give birth." Rogue said picking her hand up again.
"Where are they?"
"They are outside the door with the guys and your spirits."
"I need to see them, can you get them please?" Lucy asked.
Rogue nodded and placed her hand back down on the bed. The other slayers hearing the conversation between them, told the spirits that they are going to see her. As soon as Rogue opened the door to the infirmary, the slayers and spirits where there waiting for him to escort them in. When the group walked in, they saw Lucy laying down on the bed with her eyes going straight to the babies. Rogue walked back over to the bed and held her hand once again. Everyone in the room watched as Lucy struggled to sit up, but with the help of Rogue, it was done. Rogue climbed in bed with her and sat behind her to hold her in place so she wouldn't slip like before.
One by one, her mates brought up the six babies and introduced them to her as Rogue helped her hold them for the first time. As soon as the six where introduced, Lucy's eyes instantly shot to her spirits holding two babies.
"Princess, your mates have chosen a name for the fallen." Leo said walking forward.
He watched as Lucy began to cry harder, but these where tears of sadness. As her spirits brought the two over, they all noticed how she couldn't move. Rogue lifted her arms as she cradled the two close to her and wept for her loss. Through the mating mark, they all could feel how much her heart had broken.
"It's all my fault, I wasn't strong enough. I'm so sorry." Lucy cried out.
"It's not your fault." Natsu said.
"Bunny, dragons are strong and you managed to carry six of them and keep them alive." Gajeel said.
"It doesn't matter, I lost two also."
"Lucy, it's not your fault. None of us blame you for the loss, in fact we love the fact that you gave us each a child." Sting said.
"What does that mean? Would you not have loved these two? How can you say that?" Lucy asked.
"That's not what he means, Lucy. If the other two were with us then we would've loved them as much as the other six." Cobra said.
"Well it's to late to love them. They're gone and will never know what life could be like." Lucy said dropping her head.
"Cut the crap Blondie, we all know that they know the love we feel for them. Right now, you need to be strong. Lean on us to protect you, and show these six what life is like. Snap out of this depression state because if Wendy saw you right now, what would she do?" Laxus asked.
"Worry." Lucy replied.
"Yeah, she would worry because you let every loss hit you where it hurts. Sure you lost something but you gained something also." Laxus said.
Everyone in the room froze and waited to see what she would do. When she did nothing, her spirits came up and took the two fallen and left. As soon as the spirits left, Lucy tried to get out of bed. Everyone watched as Rogue was there to help her but she pushed him away. When she threw her legs over the side of the bed and her feet touched the ground, she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She knew that pushing herself like this was uncalled for, but knew that Laxus was right. With a deep breath, she pushed herself up from the bed. The second she lost balance, six pairs of arms went out to catch and steady her. She thanked them and let them hold her as she leaned into their touch.
"Where did you want to go Luce?" Natsu asked.
"To the bar, I want to get something to drink."
"We can get it for you, you don't have to push yourself."
"I know that, but Laxus is right. The sooner I get better the sooner I can face everyone. Right now, I want my milkshake and to check and see when Wendy is coming home." Lucy said trying to take a bigger step.
As they headed to the bar, they all saw their daughter walking in the guild with her temporary team. As Wendy saw her family, she rushed over to them but slowed down to a stop when she saw that Lucy was being supported by her mates. When the group got over to the little blue haired girl, they greeted her back and helped Lucy to a table to talk about the mission. When they all got settled down, Wendy's eyes went straight to her mom and studied how limp she was.
"How'd the mission go kid?" Gajeel asked.
"What's wrong with mom?"
"Nothing is wrong with me, now are you going to answer Gajeel?"
"Not until you tell me what's wrong."
"It's a long story Wendy, and I think Lucy might feel better if you tell us your story." Rogue said.
"So something is wrong, what happened while I was away?"
"Can you guys tell her since I wasn't awake for it?"
"Sure Luce." Natsu said.
As each of the six males took turns saying what happened, Wendy looked over to see Lucy missing from the table. Laxus having seen this told her it was fine, that Lucy had fallen asleep in his lap. Everyone watched as Wendy got up and walked around the table to Lucy's side. She looked down to her mom and pushed her magic to her hands, to make sure that she was really fine. When she cut the flow of magic, she sigh in relief and went to greet her new brothers and sisters. When all the greeting where done, Laxus picked Blondie up and the family started to head back home.
When they got home, Laxus put Lucy to bed and went down to see the new additions to the family. When he got there, he say Wendy holding two of them and the other four where asleep in the other guys arms. He smiled at the thought of finally being able to have something that he was meant to protect and care for. Not long after he sat down, everyone in the house jumped at the small scream they heard from upstairs. Wendy stayed down with the babies while the six men rushed to see what was wrong with their mate. However, when they got there, they saw Lucy starring at the wall as if someone was just in there. As they walked toward her, she shook with fear and tried to back away. They all stopped and looked at her and wondered what had her so frightened.
"Bunny, what happened?" Gajeel asked.
"There…" Was all Lucy could say as she pointed at the wall.
"What was there, Lucy?" Rogue asked.
"Hell." Lucy replied.
"What hell?" Sting asked.
"Lucy, you have to talk to us. What did you see?" Cobra asked.
"Dragons, demons, fire, bodies, myself."
"What where you doing it that hell?" Laxus asked.
"Vengeance."
"Luce, why did you want vengeance?"
"He killed…"
"Who killed who?" Gajeel asked.
"Zeref"
"What about him? We beat him, remember?" Sting said.
"He lives and will come for me."
"Over my dead body, he won't lay a finger on you." Gajeel growled.
"Exactly." Lucy said with tears running down her face.
"Lucy, it was just a dream. He isn't coming back, we know this. Just calm down." Rogue said.
"Yeah Bunny, no one is going to come for you. Just go back to sleep, we will be here when you get up." Gajeel said.
"Luce, you get to live the rest of your life watching our kids grow. You had a hard day, so just relax." Natsu said.
"Fine, but only if you get in bed with me." Lucy said.
"You shouldn't say that Blondie, we all want in bed with you." Laxus said smirking.
"If that's the case, then I need a bigger bed. Now who wants to help relieve the stress I've got built up?" Lucy asked.
"I do." All six slayers said at once.
And with that, our story comes to a close. The six slayers lived out their life pleasing Lucy anytime she asked. Wendy helped Lucy care for the babies while the men where away. The kids grew up and had kids of their own.
I know, not a great ending. But I found this story to just stop flowing for me. I'm sorry it's not the ending you were all wanting. If you ship Laxus and Lucy, look for Fighting Together. Until next time, thanks for reading my story and have a good day.
