Chapter 37 ~ Flying

Allen and Kanda slept in, only getting out of bed when Allen's hunger forced them to. After a massive lunch, Allen drug Kanda into their shared studio. Allen's grand piano and shelves full of sheet music took up one half of the room, while Kanda's canvases, paints, and other supplies occupied the other side.

"I don't feel like working today, Moyashi. Let's go back to bed."

"I can't, BaKanda. I simply must work out this piece that's been stuck in my head. I'm so close to finishing it…"

"The new one for that concert next month?"

"Yes. You can go back to bed if you like, but I'd rather you didn't. It's easier to compose when you're with me."

"Even if I fall asleep on the sofa?"

"Yes, even then. Though I must ask: Why are you so tired today? I know we had a very active night, but we slept late. Are you ill?"

"No, but I have this feeling something shitty's about to happen. It gives me a headache and makes me wanna lie down and rest."

"Hmm… Well, I did email Neah demanding that he justify Tiedoll's absence."

"Damnit! I don't care what excuses he comes up with; that asshole has chosen the motherfucking academy over me for the last time! He's broken too many promises, and I am not accepting any kind of apology from him!"

"I know, Yuu, but we still need to learn the truth. If it's to do with what I suspect, it's really important to both of us."

"You think Neah is that close to dying?"

"I don't know, but it would explain why everyone associated with BOA is so busy right now."

"I hope you're wrong. I don't wanna go back to Maine yet. I like it here."

"And I don't want to take over The Arc yet, but, if that's what's happening, it can't be helped."

"Che. Let's not talk about this anymore. Work on your song. I'll stay in here with you."

Kanda stretched out on the sofa and closed his eyes. He took several deep breaths to calm himself and fell asleep within minutes.

Allen sighed but sat down at his piano and played through his new piece. He was satisfied with everything but the ending; it remained elusive despite weeks of hard work. Last night, as he drifted to sleep in his lover's arms, he finally heard it. Now all he needed to do was play it to ensure that it flowed smoothly. He played the song once more, this time adding the ending, and he was thrilled with the result. He wrote it down in the book Kanda gave him at Christmas and quietly joined his boyfriend on the sofa. Comfortably curled atop Kanda's chest, he found himself lulled to sleep by the man's deep, even breaths and steady heartbeat.

"Oi! You in here, brat?" Cross yelled as he flung open the studio door. His booming voice startled both teens out of a deep slumber.

"Wah!" Allen fell off of Kanda and landed on the floor.

"The fuck just happened?! Cross, you bastard, you made my Moyashi fall!"

"Heh… yeah, that was fun. Anyway, I needed to find you because Frannie called me. He tried to reach you, brat, but your mobile is off. Tyki and I are going out for a while. Call your father."

"What's it about? He told you, didn't he?"

"Maybe... Just call him and you'll find out." Cross left before Allen could say anything else.

Kanda helped Allen out of the floor and onto the sofa. Allen buried his face in his lover's chest and mumbled something.

"What, kitten? I can't understand you with your face like that."

Allen pulled back just enough to speak clearly. "I said: Bloody hell, you were right!"

"About…"

"'Something shitty's about to happen.' I emailed Neah yesterday, and now he's called me. I bet he wants us to come visit with him to discuss things in person."

"So make him come here instead. I am not going to Maine right now. It'd just be a trap to try and force me into forgiving Tiedoll."

"You're probably right. I suppose I'll go ring him now and find out. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll explain over the phone."

"Che. Like that's gonna happen."

"Hush, Yuu! I am trying to be positive."

"Damnit, damnit, damnit!" Allen threw his phone against the wall and flopped face first onto the bed.

"Told you so." Kanda looked at Allen's shattered phone and laughed.

Allen rolled over and glared at him. "This is absolutely not funny in the least!"

"Yeah, we're fucked, but that's not what made me laugh. I was just thinking about how we both need new phones now."

"Hmm, I did act just like you did the day before yesterday, didn't I?"

"Does this mean you need me to comfort you now?"

"Well, I really could use some help relaxing… How about we start with a bath? It's been a while since we've done it there."

"Sounds good as long as it doesn't involve bubbles."

Allen pouted at his boyfriend.

"Fine… Spoiled little bean sprout."

"Yay!" Allen held his arms out to Kanda, and the ravenette picked him up.

"I give in too easily when it comes to you."

"It's because you love me so much!"

"Yes, it is."

"Ahh… Yuu!" Allen came in Kanda's mouth, the elder teen swallowing it all and gently sucking at the tip to milk all the cum from it.

"Mmm…" Kanda pulled away from his lover's cock and leaned back in the tub. He stroked his own arousal and looked at Allen, his navy eyes dark with lust. "Aren, please…"

Allen slid into the water and turned his back to Kanda's chest. He lowered himself onto his partner's lap, sheathing the rigid member as he did so. "So full… feels so good."

Kanda lightly touched Allen's face, and the boy turned his head just enough so that they could kiss. The ravenette slid his hands down his lover's body until they came to rest at his slender hips. As he slipped his tongue into Allen's mouth, he guided him to start moving. Each time the white-haired beauty lowered himself, Kanda thrust up to meet him.

After their lovemaking, the young couple bathed each other, and Kanda carried Allen back to bed. He climbed into bed beside him and pulled him to his chest. Allen draped his arm across Kanda's waist and sighed wistfully.

"What's wrong, kitten?"

"I dread tomorrow."

"Me, too. We'll get through this together. Just think about the good part: We'll get to see Lena and Lavi again, and you'll finally get to meet Komui and Reever."

"I've missed them, and I'm looking forward to meeting those two, especially Komui. From the stories Lena told me, he's got to be mental, but in a fun way."

"Meh, you get used to him."

"You mean you don't like him?"

"I'm just messing with you. He's a good guy, especially when he makes death threats to Lavi."

"Oh, you know you'd miss him if something really happened to him."

"Never tell him this, but, yeah, I would."

"Can I see your house while we're in Maine?"

"I guess…"

"Please? I want to see where you grew up. It will give me something else to look forward to."

"Fine, if it'll make you happy."

"Very much so."

"Good. Do you think you can sleep now?"

"I, well, there's one other thing that bothers me about this trip."

"And?"

"I get terribly ill while flying. I avoid it whenever possible. I've got medication to take, but it makes me weak and tired."

"Don't worry; I'll take care of you. Rest now, my precious Aren. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day."

"Yeah. Goodnight, Yuu. I love you."

Kanda kissed the top of his head. "'Night, sprout. I love you, too."

The limo left the airport and soon pulled up in front of Neah's home within the walls of Black Order Academy. Allen was curled up against Kanda, fast asleep.

"Moyashi, we're here. Wake up."

"Immawake… five more… coffee…" He slid further down, his head now in Kanda's lap.

"C'mon, Aren. We gotta get out of the car now."

"M'kay. I'm up…" He rolled over and nuzzled into Kanda's stomach.

"Just give up, pretty boy. The midget will be worthless for at least another hour."

"So am I supposed to sit here and let him sleep it off?"

"No, idiot. Pick him up and carry him into the house."

Kanda glared at Cross but gently moved Allen out of his lap. He got out of the limo and scooped his boyfriend up, carefully carrying him inside Neah's home.
