I wonder when I will reach 50 chapters...

"James, there is nothing you can do that will let me hand over my pass to you and your band of idiots."

James Potter groaned and whined, "Come on, I'm just asking for your pass to Hogsmeade for one afternoon. Please Howard?"

The Hufflepuff second-year narrowed his eyes at the Gryffendor student trying to wheedle the pass to Hogsmeade from Howard's hands to James' hands. Howard hailed from Hogsmeade and his parents had gotten permission from the school for him to visit home and his younger sister on weekends. And now the Potter troublemaker was trying to use said pass for who knew what, probably nothing good.

Howard huffed and said, "I'm not giving the pass to you. You'll get in trouble for doing who knows what and then I'll get in trouble for helping you. Besides, if you want to visit 'Meade that bad, sneak out by yourself. I have better things to do than to keep talking to you."

With that, Howard turned around and kept walking down to his dorms, leaving the other twelve-year-old in the hallway by himself.

Talking to no one in particular, James lamented, "Well, guess we're back on plan A. So much for Remus' suggestion that we 'conduct ourselves properly.' Told him it was easiest just to do everything by ourselves, forget the rules."

He scurried back to the dorms to relay the news back to the other three.
