Aang always made the impossible possible; he was the one who allowed her to think she didn't have to stay at her family's estate her entire life--he was showing her the world. He gave her freedom and hope--and yet a new feeling consumed her heart, a feeling that she felt very strongly while Twinkle Toes and Katara were dancing.
Toph wasn't stupid, she knew that Aang liked Katara, so why did she feel this way?
Why had--for that one moment in time--her heart been enslaved by despair?
