The sun beat down hard on the golden sand that covered most of the landscape as far as the eye could see. There wasn't many buildings around, the occasional tent, but you'd have to be very lucky just to see it.

Then there were the three boys out in the middle of said barren desert. Edan held a small compass in his hand and was spinning around in circles trying to find the North. Jack was seated on the hot golden sand while Hiccup was watching Edan spin wildly in circles.

"Um...any luck finding what we're looking for?" Hiccup asked.

"No." Edan said. "Can't find...North."

"What do you mean?" Hiccup asked walking over to Edan and looked over at the compass. It too was spinning wildly. "What the…" Hiccup snatched the compass from Edan's hands and gave it a few whacks on the back of it, in hopes of fixing it. Nothing changed, and the compass continued to spin. "This…"

"I know." Edan said crossing his arms. "There's a city south of here, I know that much."

"Alright...where's south?" Jack said walking up to the two.

"We use the sun." Edan said pulling his arm over his eyes. He pointed in a direction. "That way."

"Then what are we waiting for." Jack took off into the air while Edan and Hiccup watched him fly quickly in the direction Edan pointed.

"Well. After that Ice Brain!" Edan said to Hiccup with a wide smile.

Hiccup laughed as he mounted Toothless' saddle and clipped open the tail wing. Edan ignited his wings and the two took off into the air and flew after Jack.

"Civilization, dead ahead." Jack divebombed towards the ground and landed behind a hill of sand out of sight from the village.

Toothless and Edan landed next to him and dropped their wings. "So...what do we have here." Edan said mounting the small hill so he could see the village. Hiccup and Jack climbed up on either side of him and looked out at the small village. It was a town made up from sand coloured stone with tents and wooden stands around.

There weren't many people walking around the village, only a few who were selling things.

"Let's get down there." Hiccup said.

Edan bit his lip. "In these clothes?"

"We'd stand out. Last I checked, people get hurt when we do that." Jack said.

"Agreed." Edan looked back at Toothless. "Idea." He headed back to the dragon and dug into the packs attached to the Dragon's saddle. He pulled out brown cloaks and tossed one to Hiccup and put one over himself.

"Hood up Jack." He ordered.

Jack nodded and pulled up his brown hood.

"Okay. Let's go, and remember, no powers."

"Stay here Toothless." Hiccup said to the dragon. "We'll be back for you."

The dragon grunted and nodded.

Edan, Jack, and Hiccup vaulted over the hill and slid down the hill through the thick sand until they reached the bottom.

The three entered the small town with each one surveying the area around. Edan was in the lead with Jack and Hiccup on either side of him.

The people of the village were dressed in white or brown long robes with hoods up that shielded their faces from the bright sun. There were stalls made of wood nearby that sold food, while across from them they saw what looked like a metalsmith.

The village was so small that they could already see the end to it, there wasn't much to it.

"I'm gonna check out the metalsmith. Hiccup, scan the edging, see if you can find anything...unusual. Jack...get us some water."

Jack raised an eyebrow.

"Well I mean, don't just get water, ask around."

"Oh, okay." Jack nodded and the three split up.

Edan headed into the small enclosed metalsmith. There were jewels hanging along the walls to this shop. Some had gold necklacing, others that would slip along the arm, and some were golden weapons. Knives, daggers, and even a golden hilted shortsword.

"Wow…"

"Impressive, isn't it."

Edan spun around to see a man local to the village. He had black curly hair and wore a long raggy robe.

"You aren't from around here, are you?"

Edan smiled and nodded. "Just passing through."

He couldn't help but wince as he heard a faint ringing noise. He had no idea where it was coming from but ignored it.

"Well, we have many special jewels, are you looking for something for perhaps a certain someone?"

"Oh no. Uh...just browsing."

"Ah, I see."

"Well if you need anything, let me know." The man turned back to his work and began scraping a piece of metal with a blade.

"What are you making?" Edan asked. "If you don't mind me asking."

"Of course not." The man stopping his sharpening and turned around and held out a piece of metal.

Edan observed for only a second before an unbearably loud ringing noise rocked his ears. He covered them with his hands, but that did no good as the ringing was inside his head.

He saw the man's mouth move but couldn't hear what he was saying. A bright light lit up from the piece of metal before them.

Edan watched looked to the metal, and the ringing stopped.

"Impossible." He heard the man say as he pulled his hands down.

"What is?"

"The prophet."

Edan spun around only to feel something hard knock him in the face and everything went dark.

Edan felt his eyes slowly open and his vision adjusted to the light as he looked around. He attempted to move when he felt he couldn't. He looked to his side and found himself tied up in the back of a wooden cart.

The trotting of horses could be heard against the sand as he was lead somewhere in a cart.

"So you're awake."

Edan turned his head and found a man with no shirt, but had a helmet made from gold, and a skirt of some sort made of some cloth.

"Uh...hi?"

"Do not fear prophet, we are almost there."

"Almost where?"

The man went silent and about ten minutes later the cart came to a halt. Edan felt two sets of strong arms pull him to his feat as he was lead out of the cart. Edan turned his head and the sight of what he saw made his jaw drop.

Four massive sandstone made structures, each one with a tip at the top except for one which was flat. The closest being the flat was the one that had thousands of people at the bottom of it and was the one Edan was being lead towards.

"This can't be good." Edan said to himself as he was being lead towards the flat one.

"People of Egypt." A man with a golden helmet, golden boots, and golden clothing for his torso said. "Before you stands the prophet, the one, who I have promised to you for so long." He held up the piece of metal that Edan saw at the metalsmith earlier.

"He has made the metal of fire glow, as it is written 'he who appears shall make fire from his blood.'"

"How do we know he's real!?" A voice called from below."

"There is a test." The man said. He turned to Edan and drew his dagger.

Edan struggled for a moment put the strong arms of two men held him in place. The dagger sliced into Edan's arm revealing his bright red blood. "Gaaah!" Edan groaned in pain as the man in gold took the dagger now covered and blood and gestured for a man to come forward. He carried a small bowl containing a shining liquid. "Behold! The blood of fire!" He dipped the dagger with blood on it into the liquid. It instantly ignited the liquid and the bowl quickly filled with fire.

'Oooo's" and "aaaah's" were heard from below.

"Oil." Edan said to himself as he felt his cut heal up on it's own.

"We have found our prophet. And now fire is our weapon. We will live prosperously and the gods will treat us well."

"Oh…" Was all Edan could say. "This cannot be good."

The metalsmith was counting the last of his gold coins late at night with a torch nearby. He had made it through the first bag when the torch quickly went out and a chill was felt in the air.

"Where is he?" A voice said from the entrance to the room.

"Who?" The man asked.

Jack stepped forward and grabbed the man by the neck. "Where's the boy with orange hair that was here earlier."

The man struggled for a moment before Hiccup stepped in and pulled Jack away. "Jack don't. Let me talk to him." He looked to the man. "Look, my friend here loves to freeze people, I mean, it's practically his thing."

Jack was walking around, slowly freezing some of the jewels nearby.

"So I suggest you tell us what we want to know before he get's angry."

"I...I don't know." The man said with fear in his voice.

Jack jumped forward and shoved the man to the ground and pointed the end of his staff in his face. "You lie!"

"Okay okay!" The man quickly said. "The pharaoh's men took him."

"Where?"

"To the pyramids. He's there...out North."

Jack looked to Hiccup and nodded. "Alright, but if you breathe a word of this to anyone, we'll know, and we'll be back."

Jack and Hiccup quickly left and waited until they were out on the edge of town before they spoke. "Good call with the good guy bad guy act." Jack said to Hiccup.

"You did well." Hiccup responded. "That last bit was genius."

"Hey, it was your plan." Jack said hoisting his staff into the air.

Toothless came out from behind a small building and let Hiccup mount up onto the saddle. "Okay, let's go find Edan."

Edan struggled in the metal chains that trapped him in the small stone walled room that held him captive. His arms were held up against the wall in chains and his hands were locked in large metal cylinders.

"Impressive isn't it."

Edan looked up and saw the man who practically made him a god stood before him.

"Oh hi." Edan said with a smirk. "Here to praise your new prophet?"

"More the opposite. You may not realise it yet, but your blood is the key to the Otherworld."

"The what now?"

"The Otherworld. A place free of war and hate. A safe haven from this world."

"You're joking right?" Edan had a look of disbelief.

"The magic water will be set ablaze with your blood, And will open a portal."

"My blood is fire." Edan responded.

"I am Isaac." The man said ignoring his comment. "And fire is what will take us to the Otherworld. You will see...well, you won't really." He straightened his stance. "You will be our sacrifice."

Edan's eyes went wide, and then he burst into laughter.

"I'm not sure you realise this buddy, but...I can't die."

"Ah yes, you're healing. And yet blood still escaped your body, but fear not. We will cut you open until every last drop of blood is free."

Edan swallowed hard and watched Isaac leave the small cell and shut the barred door behind him, leaving Edan alone to the small cell.
