Peter threw another punch at Anubismon who scolded him, "Your form is off again Peter!" The Mega Level Digimon easily caught the fist and, sent the human flying, "Honestly! Yuki's doing better than you are and, she's wearing heels."

Peter collapsed on the ground and groaned, "To be completely fair Beelzemon is teaching her."

Anubismon held out a hand to help Peter up, "I fail to see how that negates any of your failures."

Peter took the hand, "It doesn't." Then he yanked on Anubismon down with all his strength, "It just makes Yuki even more impressive. I was being fair."

Anubismon hadn't expected Peter's move so he went off balance. Peter took advantage of the Digimon's confusion to lunge at him and, wrap his arms around the Lord of the Dead's middle. They both went tumbling towards the ground. However Anubismon twisted so that way Peter was the one pinned and not him.

Anubismon commented, "That was a good plan but, poorly executed. Maybe I should ask Beelzemon to teach you as well. He is already teaching Yuki and Haru. Adding one more shouldn't be that much of a problem."

Peter's eyes went wide, "No! He's a demon."

Anubismon got off of Peter and, stood back up, "That's right. He's a Demon Lord and, he doesn't take any excuse."

Peter sat up to look at what Anubismon was looking at, "No he does not."

The two of them were looking over at where Yuki and Beelzemon were sparing. Peter and Anubismon had have a dozen bouts but, this was the Programmer's first match of the evening. Anubismon was right; Yuki was fighting in heels even though Beelzemon had flooded the ground to make it muddy. Actually Peter wasn't sure it could really be called fighting. Yuki was using an impressive set of acrobatics to avoid being hit. She wasn't really trying to hit Beelzemon.

Suddenly she stopped avoid things as Beelzemon threw another punch. Instead she planted her hands on his arm and, then extended her feet in a single graceful arc. She finished the arc by wrapping her legs around Beelzemon's neck. Then Yuki swung her body around so that way she was hanging upside down the Demon Lord's back. As she did so she also threw her weight towards the ground. Both of the combatants went tumbling into to the mud. Yuki released her hold on Beelzemon's neck and, quickly rolled out from underneath the falling Digimon. As he made contact with the ground the Demon Lord suddenly found a determined Digidestined with her knees pressing into his sternum. Yuki had her hands on Beelzemon's neck.

Beelzemon smirk, "Very good!" Then he tossed her off, "But not good enough!"

Anubismon spoke to Peter, "She has certainly improved in the two months since the trial. Then again you all have."

Peter fell back on to his back, "What do you expect? Haru has us training practically nonstop every day."

Anubismon nodded his agreement. It wasn't like he could disagree. The Digidestined of the Question had been doing physical training ever since the trial. It wasn't just hand to hand combat. The General had them training with both various melee and ranged weapons. That was just as humans. Then they did similar drills as Recodes. The Digimon also did training at all levels of evolution. Anubismon was training both sets of twins. Queenchessmon had refused to let anyone but her train Steven. Haru had watched all the training for a while before approaching Beelzemon and, asking to join him and Yuki. Beelzemon had accepted but, his main priority was always Yuki. Haru wasn't with them now. Queenchessmon had abducted him to run drills with Steven. Petra and Lopmon were with Venusmon practicing "feminine wiles." Yuki had been invited. The Programmer had started laughing her head off. Angemon and Gargomon were sparing a little ways away from the other two sets of fighters.

Then Anubismon told Peter, "Alright that's enough of a break. Do you want to return to hand to hand or rifle shooting? You need to improve both."

Then everyone heard Haru's voice, "Alright! That's enough for now!" Yuki and Beelzemon were still wrestling so the General called out again, "Hey! I don't want you two killing each other!"

His voice finally reached into Yuki's brain and, her teeth let go of Beelzemon's forearm. The Demon Lord let go of the Programmer's hair. They came apart slowly as they eyed each other warily. As soon as it was clear that neither of them were going to attack again Yuki started tapping on her Digiwatch. She currently existed in two states; Digiprograming and combat training.

Haru jerked his head to the nearby cabin, "Come along. The sun is about to set and, Petra made dinner. Steven found board games as well."

Peter grinned as he passed the General, "Work hard; play hard."

Haru nodded, "That's about right."

Yuki had been swung over Beelzemon's shoulder, "I don't think that's what he meant."

Haru was confused, "What?"

Yuki looked up from her tapping as the Demon Lord carried her passed the General, "Seriously! How do you not get it?"

Angemon flew over Yuki and Beelzemon before reverting to Tokomon, "We covered this Yuki. He's not the most observant person."

Gargomon reverted to Terriermon, "Yeah but, neither is Yuki and, she still got it."

Haru was confused, "I'm plenty observant!"

Agumon looked up at his Partner, "Not about some things."

Yuki was tapping on her Digiwatch again, "Does that mean Steven is at the cabin?"

Haru decided not to worry whatever he wasn't getting, "Yeah. He found Monopoly."

Tokomon asked from his place on Beelzemon's head, "What's that?"

Terriermon answered, "It's a board game. It takes forever."

Yuki asked, "Do I have to play?"

Haru nodded, "Yes! The Digidestined have to play but, the Keepers don't have to play if they don't want to."

Beelzemon offered, "I'll play for the Lady Programmer."

Yuki exclaimed, "Yes!"

Haru protested at the same time, "No!"

Yuki scowled as Beelzemon placed her down near the cabin door, "I have work to do."

Haru opened the door, "All work and no play makes Yuki a dull girl."

Yuki raised an eyebrow, "I'm not sure how I feel about play yet."

Peter burst out laughing. Steven meet the group in the living room, "What's so funny."

The General told the Diplomat, "I have no idea."

Terriermon told Steven, "Peter said. 'Work hard; play hard,' but Haru didn't get it. Now Yuki's saying that she doesn't know how she feels about play."

Steven nodded, "Ah. I understand. Come on. Petra tried making rice balls for dinner."

Yuki exclaimed, "Oh! Yum!" She headed towards the kitchen, "Save some for me!"

Petra was in the kitchen and, she laughed, "I am! I made them with you in mind."

Yuki snagged one before Petra could stop her, "Thank you." Then she took a bite. For a moment she chewed but, then exclaimed, "Oh! Yummy!"

Lopmon laughed, ""So we have the Programmer's approval. You boys might want to get in here before they are all gone."

Lopmon had a point has Yuki had snagged another. She was barely breathing as she scarfed her dinner down. Everyone was glad to see that she was actually eating. Eating was still something Yuki had problems with. That's why Petra tried making foods she knew Yuki would eat.

Yuki finished her most recent rice ball, "Okay. I have to check something." She cut of Haru's protests, "I'll come play this game but, this needs to be checked!"

Beelzemon followed after her as she walked away. He snagged two rice balls and, passed one up to Tokomon, "Wait for me Lady Programmer."

Petra laughed, "Now I made plenty so we can eat while we play. However someone will have to care the trays."

Queenchessmon grabbed two of the trays, "Are we moving these to the dining room?"

Steven nodded, "Yes! I've already got the board set up and the money dealt. Try not to disturb it."

Haru grabbed another one of the trays, "Right. I think we can do that."

Peter helped with the trays, "I call the car!"

Anubismon grabbed the last two trays, "I think that can be arranged."

Soon they were all around the table. Peter had grabbed the car and, Petra had the dog. Haru had selected the cannon while Steven snagged the iron. It was agreed that the Keepers would just provide support. Now they had to wait for Yuki.

She came out with her computer, "Um? Guys?" She looked at them, "You need to see this."

Haru narrowed his eyes, "What is it?"

Yuki reported, "A message, from Ken Ichijouji on behalf of the Digimon International Relationship Office."

That got everyone's full attention. The General ordered, "Play it!"

Yuki placed the computer down so that way everyone could see it. Then when she pushed play Ken Ichijouji began to speak, "Hello Digidestined of the Question. I know you have no reason to even listen to me because we classed you as vigilantes and, arrested some of you but, I have to hope that you at least play this message. The truth is we, the older Digidestined, have a problem and, we need your help. The issue is that we don't know what the problem is. Something is wrong with the Wishing Well but, we don't know what. We can't even get there and, we are out of ideas. We have already cleared all the charges against you so you should be safe to come. We understand if you rather not. However I had to ask you to come. Please come. We need your help."

The message ended and, Agumon asked, "What's the Wishing Well?"

Peter answered, "It's the dimension where the final battle with Malomyotismon took place. It has the strange ability to make wishes come true."

Haru rubbed his thumb across his lip, "And if Ken is telling the truth it's in trouble."

Steven asked, "Why would he not?"

Haru shrugged but, Yuki beat him to saying something, "It's is trouble alright. I should have seen it coming."

Petra asked, "What do you mean?"

Yuki sat down as she explained, "There are four dimensions that we know about; the Real World, the Digital World, the Dark Ocean and, the Wishing Well. They are all connected like vertices of a 3D object. Each dimension connects with the three others and, things start to bleed though when one of the dimension is in trouble. If one of them is in trouble the others follow suit fairly quickly. The Digital World and the Real World have the strongest connection so it's easy enough to see it there."

Haru confirmed, "So the Wishing Well is in trouble." At Yuki's nod he asked, "Can we get there?"

Yuki shrugged, "It's theoretically possible but, I'm not sure how."

Steven asked, "Are we going to the Digimon International Relationship Office?"

Haru shrugged, "I know we have to check the Wishing Well out but, I rather avoid the other Digiddestined right now. It may have been months for us but, it's only been days for them. If can get there without talking to them that would be awesome."

Queenchessmon had been thinking and now she voices her thoughts, "If the Wishing Well and, the Dark Ocean are connected to the Digital World wouldn't they be affected by the time dilation?"

Everybody but Yuki seemed stunned by this observation, "That's a good point and, it seems likely. However I don't have enough information to even guess at how."

Anubismon consider the resident genius, "What do you mean?"

Yuki told the Lord of the Dead, "We don't even know where the Wishing Well came from. Even if we don't know how it happened we know that the Digital World started as computer programs in the Real World. We don't know if the Wishing Well is older or younger or the same age or what. The same is true for the Dark Ocean. We don't really know how any of the dimensions are connected; just that they are. They could be layers or Russian nesting dolls or Venn diagram circles. We just don't know."

Then Venusmon asked the question they were all expecting, "What do you think Programmer?"

Yuki shrugged, "I don't know. The problem with all the theories out there is that they don't take into account the fact that there could be, and probably are, other dimensions out there." Then she pushed her hair out of her green eyes, "Though I have to admit that I like the nesting doll theory but, with a twist."

Steven clapped his hands once, "Great! Explain your twist to us!"

Yuki held out her hand as if she was holding something in her hand, "Alright. Each dimension, no matter how many there are, is a sphere and, some are inside of each other. Now here's a little bit of my twist. The spheres are made of porous material and, sitting in a bowl of something. I'm not entirely sure what this something is. I'm not a physicist but, I think, if I understand it right, that it's a cross between void and dark matter. Anyways this stuff has the same density as the dimensions so they just float in the middle of it. Then since the spheres are permeable the stuff sinks into it. That's important because that means that within each of the spheres the smaller spheres are just sitting in the middle and freely floating." She paused for a moment, "Does this make sense so far?"

Steven had his eyes closed, "Yeah. Continue."

Yuki did so, "Now I don't think the space between dimensions is very big because sometime matter makes its way through the sieve-like of one dimension and, into another. So for a brief moment matter is floating though the something that cause the dimensions to be free floating. Like when we travel to and from worlds. Now here's the problem. Not every dimension is made of the same stuff. Some of the dimensions are more porous than others."

Peter paused her, "So when we travel though dimensions we are basically going though one of the holes in one strainer and, aiming for a hole in another strainer."

Yuki nodded, "Yeah. Pretty much."

Petra asked, "And some dimension strainers are tighter than others?"

Yuki kept nodded, ""That's right. But that's not the only thing. Since all the dimensions are free floating spheres they all rotate in different direction." She started rolling her hands in one direction, "Some go like this." Then she switched directions, "Some go like this." Then she twisted so her elbows were pointed at the ceiling, "Some go like this."

Terriermon simplified it, "Since they are spheres there are infinite ways for them to spin."

Yuki nodded, "Yep. The reason why it's so easy to travel from the Digital World to the Real World and vis-versa is because they are made out of pretty much the same material and, rotating in pretty much the same direction. Though there are still a lot of holes in my theory." She didn't wait to be asked, "Like if that's the case you shouldn't be able to travel directly from the Real World to the Digital World and, the Real World to the Dark Ocean and, the Real World to the Wishing Well yet, all three trips are possible. People should only be able to travel directly to the dimensions that are on either side of the dimensions they are currently in, but that's clearly not the case. Then there's the time dilation. I have no idea how that is messing with the dimensions."

Haru's thumb paused against his lip, "Alright. I think that makes sense. How does that help us get to the Wishing Well?"

Yuki made the sound that meant she didn't know, "Just because you understand the theory doesn't mean you know how to put practice."

Steven asked, "Can you figure it out?"

Yuki shrugged, "Maybe. I'm a Programmer; not a physicist. Making the Digiports is easy because the Digital World is made with Code and not matter."

Lopmon was eating a rice ball, "That leads to another question. We already know about the 4 parts of sentience, heart, soul, body and, mind. And we know that there are Digital World equivalents: heart and soul make the Core, the Code for body and, the Psychic Net for mind. Then there are the Real World matches: heart and soul make Soul, matter for body and, the social consciousness for mind. Does that mean there are things unique to the Wishing Well that serve the same purpose?"

Yuki shrugged, "I wouldn't know. I wish you would stop asking me."

Peter was thinking, "The Digital World is alive. Not the same way as a person but, it still thinks and feels."

Steven agreed, "Yeah. That fact is what creates the Core you two Synch with and the Psychic Net that I can affect."

Peter waved that off, "Yeah I know. My point is maybe all the dimensions are alive, at least a little bit. If that's the case maybe we can ask the Digital World to send us to the Wishing Well."

Anubismon was intrigued, "Even if the other dimensions aren't alive The Digital World is. It wouldn't hurt to try asking."

Peter answered, "And if the Wishing Well isn't alive how do we ask to get back."

Haru had to accept that, "That's true. Just because we want to get to the Wishing Well doesn't mean we want to be stuck there." He gave an order, "Yuki! Look into it!"

Yuki nodded, "Right." Then she brightened, "Does that mean I don't have to play this game?"

Haru was taken aback for a moment, "What?" Then he look at the Monopoly game on the table, "No I guess not. We don't have time like I thought we did."

Terriermon was eating a rice ball as well, "No one ever has time for Monopoly."

Yuki snagged another rice ball, "Right then I'm going to go figure this mess out." She hopped out of her chair, "Come along Beelzemon. Grab Tokomon for me."

The Demon Lord gently picked up the sleeping In-Training Digimon, "Of course Lady Programmer."

Haru called after them, "Take your time but, don't waste time either."

Yuki flicked her fingers at him, "Right. I know."

**Scene Change**

Steven told Queenchessmon, "Hurry up."

The Black Queen asked, "I am hurrying but, where are we going?"

Wormmon turned on Steven's shoulder, "To the Wishing Well!"

Queenchessmon was confused, "How? Tachibana has just started researching how to do that. She's good but, not only three hours' worth of research good."

Steven just kept walking, "I know but, the way things have been right now she'll find the answer and, then tell Haru. After that they'll disappear for who knows how long."

Steven's teacher had to concede that point, "That is a good point. I take it that you think it's your turn to do something rash."

Steven paused for a moment, "I just want this war to be over. I want to go back home to Kate and Lucas. But I can't do that until Tempusmon is dealt with. That won't happen until all these distractions are dealt with."

Queenchessmon was serious, "I fail to see how the war you five have decided to fight will ever be over." Steven was clearly confused so his teacher explained, "The five of you have decided to fight for good. Well evil is always there to fight against good. It's a battle with no discernible beginning and no clear end. There will be lulls but, the war is unceasing."

Steven scowled, "I have plans! I can't waste my life. I have goals."

Queenchessmon nodded, "That's right. You want to make the childcare system in your country better. Is that not a way of fighting for what's good as well?"

Steven started walking again, "Yeah but."

He couldn't continue so Queenchessmon asked, "Tell me: what is the difference between Ambition and Victory?"

Steven had to pause as he consider that. He spoke slowly, "Victory is what happens when you actually reach the goal. Ambition is the journey."

Queenchessmon agreed, "Exactly. Now tell me this: What will you do when you reform the system?"

Steven's eyes went wide, "When?"

Queenchessmon smiled, "Forgive me for believing in you Thomasson. Will you answer my question?"

Steven shrugged, "I never thought about it. I guess I'll just continue helping people."

Queenchessmon seemed impressed, "So you've always been fighting this war. You just haven't known it."

Steven shrugged, "I guess. But what does it matter? Even if the Wishing Well and Tempusmon are just part of my Ambition's journey I'm still sick and tired of Yuki doing something reckless."

Wormmon nodded, "As am I. That's why we are going to ask the Digital World."

Queenchessmon sighed, "Well I guess it's our turn anyways. So I assume that that we are headed somewhere specific to ask the Digital World for help."

Steven shook his head, "Not really. Just away from the cabin."

Queenchessmon pointed out, "Well we can't see it anymore."

Steven nodded and, closed his eyes. He quickly found the map of the Psychic Net. This time instead of brushing against one of the sparks and streamers he reached out with his mind to a point in the middle of the spherical net. Using everything Queenchessmon had taught him the Diplomat asked the Digital World to send him to the Wishing Well. For a moment it seemed like he wouldn't get an answer. Then the Digital World answered. Steven suddenly started falling. Without hesitating the Black Queen jumped after her student.

**Scene Change**

Petra had to read the note twice. Then she started yelling, "Steven's gone!"

Haru came running, "What?" Petra handed him the note and, the General read it out loud, "I'm going to go ask the Digital World to send me to the Wishing Well. If I'm not back in an hour it worked. Or I'm dead." Haru crumpled the note in his hand, "Damn him."

Peter was standing in the door, "Now you know how we felt when you and Yuki went off to fight Analogs."

Haru didn't comment on that, "Yuki! Where are you?"

About a minute later the Programmer popped up next to Peter, ""Yes?"

Haru told her, "Steven's gone! Can you find him?"

Yuki nodded, "Yeah he's gone. I saw him sneak out a couple hours ago so I started tracking his Digiwatch. Then it disappeared. I figured he followed Peter's suggestion."

Haru stared at her in disbelief, "You let him do something that reckless!"

Yuki shrugged, "It was his turn."

Haru snapped, "No! We don't take turn being reckless!"

Petra scoffed, "So is that your job then?"

Haru exclaimed, "Yes!"

Anubismon entered the room, "Why is that?"

Haru answered easily enough, "Well the four of them have."

Terriermon jumped off of Anubismon, "No! Don't start that again!"

Agumon clung to Haru's leg, "I agree!"

Haru knew they were right so he turned to Yuki, "Find a way for us to follow him or, at least get him back."

Yuki nodded, "Already working on that. I started when he disappeared."

Haru nodded, "And see if you can send a message to the other Digidestined at the Digimon International Relationship Office."

Yuki nodded, "I can do that. Easy as cake!"

Petra corrected her, "Easy as pie."

Yuki shrugged, "Whatever."

Author's Note: LadyAnnaLee here! Welcome back! I know this one is latish. I'm sorry so please forgive me. It seems that no one was heartbroken that I skipped the boring government formation. Anyways this chapter is more of a setup for next week's rather that anything interesting. Now on to reviews. To BEST OC Maker: Steven is on his way to the Wishing Well. Still you'll have to wait. I do have a plan for it. It is a source of Miracles after all. (HINT HINT!) To enarmonios: I have to apologize now. The only Recode we will see after this point is Shourimon. However a sort of Recode 2.0 appears after the Megas. Also I have to apologize for Tempusmon's plans for the Wishing Well. Though it doesn't happen right away. NOW! I have to chapter 41 written and, it's nowhere near done so the odds of getting to Chapter 50 is high! To celebrate I want to give a gift to my regular reviewers! However I need to start planning for it now since I'm only nine chapters out. So let me know! If you want an extra chapter or some type of omake at the end that would be perfect. I am open to suggestions as long as it doesn't detract from the story so suggest ANYTHING AND EVVERYTHING you want to see. I can't promise I'll do them all but, I will pick something my regulars suggest. Maybe even one for everybody. Still you need to do it quick. Does that make sense? Anyways please remember to review and, all that good stuff. See you soon. I'll see you next week. Love, LadyAnnaLee.

PS. I do not own Digimon. Anything you recognize is not mine.
