Daze got up to the sound of her phone going off. 'Why did I put on my phone alarm? I'm still on vacation!' Daze thought. She groaned and grabbed her phone off the end table and looked at it. The alarm said, 'My Birthday!'. "Oh shoot!" Daze said, out loud.
She lept out of bed and dashed to the bathroom. She stripped from her clothing and hopped into the shower. The warm water washed over her. She put a dollop of shampoo in the palm of her hand and massaged it on to her scalp.
She washed out the shampoo and came out of the shower. She blow-dried her hair and sprayed in leave-in conditioner. She brushed out her hair and put it in a bun and grabbed a light blue ribbon and tied it around her bun.
She went to the closet and grabbed her light blue sundress off the hanger and slipped into it. She had a little trouble zipping up the zipper in the back, but she eventually got it. She grabbed a light brown belt and placed that around her torso.
She put on white flats with bow ties at the end, then put hoop earrings on that were big enough to fit Daze's hands through. The last thing she did was get a light blue flower barrette. She twisted her bangs into braid.
She clipped the braided bangs away from her face, so it looked like a flower gripping a small braid. She checked herself in the mirror. She smiled. So far, so good. She went back into the bathroom. She grabbed her toiletry bag and set it on the counter.
She got out, eyeshadow, mascara, and chapstick. She didn't want to go too overboard with the makeup. Too much makeup made her look a little freaky. Almost like Jeff the Killer from CreepyPasta. Yep. That bad.
She chose one small thing of eyeshadow. Periwinkle. That should do the trick. She opened it and took the brush and swiped it across the color. She closed her right eye and she gently took the brush and softly scraped her eyelid with the color.
She did the same with her other eye. She put the brush back into the container and shut it, putting it back into the bag. She grabbed the mascara and twisted open the small bottle. She lifted the brush to her eye and swept the brush on her eyelashes.
She did the same with the other eye and closed the mascara. She popped open the cap and wiped it back and forth on her lips. She put the cap back on the chapstick and rubbed her lips together, making sure the chapstick got on every part of her lips.
She closed her eyes, as if she was waiting for a surprise. She opened her eyes to see a different person staring back at her. Daze never seen herself this way before. This was a different Daisy Iselin she'd never seen before.
She heard a knock on the door, she stashed away her makeup quickly and headed to the door. She answered it to see Annie. "Hi." Daze said. "Hey, what's up?" Annie said, hugging her. They released each other.
"My, don't you look beautiful today." Annie said. "Thank you." Daze said. "So, you got any plans today?" Annie asked. "No, I don't actually." Daze said. "Well, Tiffany, Dawn, Ashley, Jess, and Clara are downstairs and they were wondering if you wanted to hang out?" Annie asked.
"Of course!" Daze said. "Awesome. Let's go." Annie said. Daze clutched her key card and they dashed down the elevator. Annie pressed the button to go down, then they waited for the car to come up.
It halted then opened its doors and they stepped inside. Daze pressed the button to go down the lobby. The doors closed and the car went down with a lurch. Daze listened to the hum of the motor, then stopped when the car lurched to a halt on the first floor.
They stepped out and sure enough, the other five girls were waiting by reading magazines. Clara was the first to look up. "Wow! Daze, you look awesome!" Clara said. The others looked up when she said that.
There was a chorus of 'Wow!', 'You look great!', and 'Where did you get that dress?'. "Thanks guys." Daze said, her cheeks turning a little pink. "Let's go!" Dawn said, running out the door. "Race you guys to the car!" Dawn yelled over her shoulder.
"What!? That's it sister! It's on!" Jess shouted. They all started running out to Tiffany's white SUV. Surprisingly, despite Dawn's head start, Ashley made it there first. They piled into Tiffany's SUV, and they drove to the ice skating rink.
It took about five minutes to get there. Sky, Ty, Jerome, and Alanna were there. Daze was confused. It made sense about Jerome and Alanna being here, being a couple and all. But Sky and Ty being here? Little weird.
She got her skates and strapped them on. She almost fell down onto the bench behind her, but luckily, Annie was there behind her to catch her before she hurt her head. Daze smiled in gratitude as Annie helped her onto the ice.
Ice skating turned out to be a lot easier than Daze expected. It was almost the same thing as roller skating. She glided across the ice. Unknown to Daze, Sky nudged Ty. Ty looked at him as Sky pointed to Daze.
Ty gazed over at her and his jaw dropped a little. Daze almost looked like Elsa if it weren't for the flower and the bun instead of a braid. Well, Elsa did have a bun at the beginning of the movie but that's before she became the ice queen.
Sky caught Ty's look and elbowed him in the ribs. Ty groaned. "Dude, what was that for?" Ty asked. "Dude, you know better." Sky said. "Know better what?" Ty asked. "We can't be staring at Daze or be doing anything that will give our crush away." Sky said.
Ty groaned. "Oh, come on. You've been doing a lot of things that give it away don't give any of that." Ty retorted. "Shut up." Sky said, his voice raising a little. "No. I won't shut up. You know why? Because you have to stop treating me like a five year old!" Ty shouted.
Ty's shouting got Daze's attention. She stopped and turned her gaze to Sky and Ty, who were arguing over something. "You know what? I'll tell her how much I'll love her! No matter how much you love her too!" Ty shouted.
They were fighting over someone again. Daze knew she had to stop this one herself since she didn't have a tennis ball this time to throw at Ty's head. She skated over to them. "Hey!" Daze said. They went silent then stared at her.
They looked sheepish. "Come on. You're better than this. You're squabbling like brothers." Daze said. "Sorry." They apologized. Daze nodded then went back to skating. Dawn and Ashley were watching the entire scene.
"I'm worried about them." Ashley said. "I know." Dawn said. "I think they're trying to win over Daze." Ashley said. "Yeah. Sky's been making total obvious clues. I mean, the sunscreen scenario, Tiffany told me they almost kissed during their dinner last night." Dawn said.
"Ty's taken out Daze too. But so far, he's made no success. But he's shown his love for her too." Dawn said. "If Daze does choose one of them, I wonder how the other will take it." Ashley said. "I honestly don't know. I mean, if she chooses Sky, Ty will probably go live with Jason." Dawn said.
"If she chooses Ty, well, I don't know, I know Sky will be heartbroken, knowing that he broke up with me, it'll take a while for him to get over it." Dawn said. Ashley sighed. "We'll just have to see now. It's all up to Daze." Ashley said.
Tiffany walked over. "What happened to those two?" Tiffany asked. "They were fighting over Daze again." Dawn explained. "Oh, that does explain a lot." Tiffany said. "We know that Daze will have to choose between them." Ashley said.
Tiffany nodded. "It's all or nothing now. Daze kissed Ty on the cheek and she almost kissed Sky. It's anybody's game." Tiffany said. "Yep." Dawn said. "Wait, what if there was another reason why Sky set up the...thing?" Ashley asked, being careful of her words.
But they knew what she meant. The surprise party that took place in a couple hours. "What do you mean?" Tiffany asked. "I mean, Daze's birthday can't be the only reason, considering the fact that him and Ty are fighting over her." Ashley said.
"Are you saying the other reason, besides it being Daze's birthday, that this was a set up to see who can admit their feelings for her and win her?" Dawn asked. Ashley nodded. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying." Ashley said.
They all looked at the two boys, who gone off the do their own things. Now the boys were fighting to the death for her, and they both got their bows and arrows ready to go through their hearts. One winner, one broken heart.
