Here for another chappie, as scheduled! Yay!

Kai's POV
The sunshine falling on my face was far too uncomfortable for sleeping, and I'm a man of fire! Groaning, I rolled over the sleeping form of Jay before sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. Uncovering one eye, out of the corner I could barely make out the fast approaching form of construction vehicles screaming the color yellow. Wishing to un-see that horror, I covered that eye up and uncovered my other. Cole was crawling about a cavernous hole while scooping up fistfuls of dirt. He was making negligible progress now. Sneaking up behind him, I heard an incoherent stream of words come from him. Feeling sorry for a moment before realizing I had always wanted to do this to Cole, I quickly jabbed a series of pressure points. I was rewarded with a satisfying sound of Cole slumping to the ground.
"Not really sorry here, but you really needed to sleep," I told his unconscious form as I drug him to rest at the base of Tara's tree. Spinning around, I let out a girlish scream as I came face to face with a man in an orange-checkered shirt, blue overalls, and a utility belt around his waist.
Smiling to cheerfully, the man pulled out the leaflet our team had grown all too familiar with, "Hiya there, I'm Bob, the builder, and I'm here to fix this tragic forest into a renovated area for New Ninjago City! If you could please evacuate the area at this time, it would be greatly appreciated." I scratched my head for any legal jargon that could get us out of this mess, but I normally wasn't the team member to engage in social negotiations.
"Well isn't that just dandy for you!" I faked enthusiasm, "You see that tree over there? Yes? Well I need that, so unless you have an army to back you, we don't plan on leaving without it." We stood momentarily, exchanging plastered smiles of psuedo-congeniality. Bob broke character first.
"Well, with this legal contract accompanied by this cell phone, I can get a police force here in around twenty minutes. So, I suggest you borrow some of our chainsaws, pal, cut those roots, and leave," Bob waved his phone dauntingly, with that stupid smile still covering his face.
I scowled, "Can a tree even survive with severed roots?" The builder looked over at our handiwork, partially calculating and partially groaning at the extra work we caused for him.
"I'd say..." he paused as I about smacked him to spew the words out, "There's a forty percent chance of survival." Weighing that percentage in my mind, I decided that was forty percent we didn't have a couple of hours ago, so it would have to do. Jogging over to the machinery and jogging back with a retrieved chainsaw, I glanced down at Tara's roots and wondered if I was even doing the right thing. Cole would probably stuff me into an iron maiden when he found out what I had done... Jay would probably not talk to me for a long while, a couple centuries at the least. Other than that, there were no repercussions whatsoever! Shaking my head at my internal monologue, I flipped the switch on the chainsaw, put on my safety goggles, and made the first cut.
Cole's POV
A nice humming sound caused me to arise from my sleep. Opening my eyes, I took me a couple of moments to process Kai holding a ridiculously large chainsaw above his head before bringing it down to saw into several roots. It may have just been my sleep-deprived mind, but I would like to think I heard maniacal laughter from him as well. That brought me to full alertness. Leaping forward, I felt slight tremors of the earth as I propelled myself from the ground, launching at Kai.
"What are you doing!" I yelled as I blindly collided with him, narrowly missing the chainsaw that now lay on the ground. Kai's brown eyes looked calmly back at mine, expecting this reaction from me.
"Cole, let go of me. This was the best chance for survival; the construction crew is already here. I'm normally supposed to be the one who can't control of my emotions not you. Furthermore, I just finished," still holding onto Kai, I looked over my shoulder as a clean, circular cut had been made a 500ft radius around Tara's tree. Dropping Kai unceremoniously, I dashed over to the willow tree and looked for any signs of wilting or otherwise. Then, walking over to the line of the incision, I stooped down into a horse-stance and reached so that both hands firmly held onto the circular island of earth Tara's tree was on.
"I told you I would be your superman, no matter how cheesy that sounds. I told you I would save you, no matter how impossible that would be. So I will protect you, no matter if I don't have enough strength to do that yet!" the earth began to quake as I summoned my element, "Earth! Ninja-go!" I looked down and noticed my skin begin to glow with a faint colored aura that grew with intensity. Grunting at the great exertion, I began to lift the landmass Tara was on and raise it above my head. Turning around with tree in hands, I looked at Kai.
"Where are we putting her?" I asked while Kai kept on repeating the words "true potential" over and over.
We were at least five hundred miles west of Ninjago City, clear from any city life. I finished patting the last mound of dirt and looked at our finished planting job.
Walking over to the willow tree, I knocked on the bark, "Tara? You can come out now!" I stared at the various patterns in the bark, nothing happened.
"Tara! Seriously, you should come out now..." I urged again and waited. The fabric of space on the bark began to quiver and undulate and a slender hand began to emerge from the bark. I immediately grabbed onto it with both hands and tugged harshly. The rest of Tara's form stumbled out and her arms reached out for stabilization. Happening to find me first, her arms latched firmly around me for stabilization whereas I wrapped my arms around her for assurance. Resting my chin on her hair, I felt relief. Tara's hands pushed gently on my chest, indicating I was probably suffocating her with my hug. Letting go, I was startled by her irritated expression.
"I kept my promise, you didn't keep yours," she frowned, referring to me continuing to work all last night to the point of deliria.
I smiled, "There are some things you just can't stop working towards, Tara." I began walking back with her to the ship, to where after a few hundred feet, she immediately halted, pivoted on her foot, and began walking in the other direction.
"Tara, what are you doing exactly?" I asked as she retreated towards her tree. Grabbing her hand, I began dragging her back to the ship as she fought my grip and dug her heels into the ground. As we approached the point she had originally turned around and began to pass it, her demeanor completely changed to her clutching onto my arm and pleading to go back.
"What's wrong this time?" I threw my hands up in exasperation. We kept on having to save Tara. And it was honestly getting pretty painfully mentally and physically to do so. I didn't mean to snap at her, in all honesty. I'm just going to blame my sleep-deprivation again. Tara stumbled forward, arms out, trying to grasp my arm before she just sat on the ground.
"I can't see. Cole, I can't see a thing."
