"Ugh, wh-where am I? What the hell happened?" I groaned as my eyes slowly opened. I awoke to the sight of a wooden ceiling above my head.
"You're finally awake." A voice said to my left. I slowly turned my head to see Alicia standing there with a concerned look on her face.
"Alicia, where are we right now?" I asked, moving my right hand to my head to massage it. I feel like I was hit with a truck full of fat people that was on fire and had jet engines attached to it.
"We're currently in an inn at a village five hours east of where we battled Gangrel." She answered.
"Wait, why are we in the same room then?" I asked. I don't remember if it was official or not, but we can't share inn rooms or tents with someone of the opposite sex unless you're family, or married. Then again, I could have misremembered something hurts like hell right now.
"Well…" She starts to look extremely nervous. "Iaccidentallyletitslipthatyou'remydad!" She just blurted out at hyper speed.
"Say it again, but slower this time." I requested, still massaging my head.
"Okay… I accidentally let it slip that you're my dad." She said in a much easier to understand rate. Wait a second…
"You WHAT!?" I shouted.
Alicia jumped back a little bit, likely anticipating this reaction. "I'm s-sorry, but can I explain how this happened.
"Fine, as long as you can explain what is with this damn headache." I requested while switching hands to massage it.
"Well, that's part of the reason why the secret was found out." Alicia stated with a nervous laugh.
"Get on with it." I say, not wanting to wait any longer.
"After word got out to our group that Gangrel was killed, we all quickly rushed back to camp to celebrate. About halfway on the trek back, I noticed Chrom and Robin and they were carrying you back. Normally I wouldn't be completely concerned since it was normally due to exhaustion." She started.
"Yeah, that's been happening a bit too much, I think it's because I overexert my spells." I commented.
"Well, that normally would be the case, but your forehead was bleeding." She pointed. I guess that since I was completely floored by Infernus, it would make sense that the impact would cause some damage. Why didn't I feel any blood though after impact? Maybe I felt too weak to even realize I was bleeding.
"Then why isn't my head bandaged." I asked, noticing the lack of bandages while I am still massaging my head.
"You woke up when I was in the middle of changing them, so take your hand off your head before you irritate it." She requested, pulling out fresh bandages.
"Sure, do you mind continuing the story while wrapping my head?" I asked, quickly removing my hand from my forehead.
"The instant I noticed your head bleeding, I ended up yelling 'DAD!' as loud as I could in concern, and you can likely assume what happened next." She stated, currently wrapping the bandages.
"I see…" I resisted nodding my head in thought at the risk of messing up Alicia while she's wrapping the bandages. "How exactly did you explain it to them?" I asked with wonder.
"Well… Itoldthemyouarealotolderthanyoulook!" She explained in hyper speed again.
"Explain again, but keep it at normal speed this time." I requested, trying to hold back an annoyed sigh.
"Um okay… I told them that you are a lot older than you look." She said with a nervous gulp. Great, she's going to make me feel like an old man isn't she?
"Okay, how much older?" I ask with a slightly concerned tone.
"Uh… *mumble* *mumble*"
"Speak up."
"F-forty." She stated, looking down.
"Ugh, great, now I'm going to feel old when they talk to me. They'll likely try to ask me about something like the old days or something." I started to complain. "The instant, and I mean the god damn, INSTANT they find out about time travel from Lucina, we are fixing this misunderstanding!"
"Y-yes dad." Alicia said with a scared salute. Okay, I think I was too hard on her there, but even though she is still older than me by a small margin, I'm still her father and I need to discipline her for her mistakes. This still feels weird, but at least I don't need to hide this for a while, but I'm going to have to pretend to be forty.
"It could be worse." The familiar voice of Larson stated.
"How?" I asked.
"She could have said you were fifty, or you could have been killed by Alex." He answered.
"Gee, not like those were predictable options." I replied while rolling my eyes. Not like he could see it either way.
"Asshole." Larson commented.
"No need to point out the obvious." I quipped
"*sigh* Sometimes I can't help but think you're a lost cause." Larson stated with a sigh.
"Now look who the dick is." I pointed out in a joking manner. "Anyways, is there any particular reason you contacted me?"
"Just wanted to congratulate you on surviving the Plegia war, and that I'll be cutting contact with you until the two year gap to the Valm war begins." He stated.
"Better hope I don't forget you then." I commented.
"You're not asking why I'm cutting contact?" Larson asked, admittedly surprised at my lack of questions.
"Why should I? It's not like it will completely affect my life or anything." I reply nonchalantly.
"Oooookay… I'll speak with you in two years." Larson said as his last message before cutting off. Admittedly, that conversation was odd. Is he hiding something from me? I guess I'll have to dig around for some info.
"Dad, is everything all right?" Alicia asked, worried that I looked I might have been spacing out for a while.
"Don't worry, I'm fine. I just had a chat with Larson." I answer in a nonchalant tone.
"Oh, what did he say?" She wondered.
"Just congratulating me for surviving the war with Plegia, and that we won't hear from him for two years." I answer.
"Really, well that sucks." She said with an annoyed look.
"It's not like you talk to him much." I pointed out, quite literally with my right hand pointed to her.
"I wanted to try and fix that. You always told me to try and get to know others better so I didn't suffer your teen life." She stated.
"Dammit, did you really need to bring that up?" I asked while trying to keep my cool. To put it short, for most of my adolescent life I was a god damn hermit, I'm not proud of it, but it's who I was.
"Sorry, I'm just repeating what the older you told me." She said with a foolish grin. I swear if I somehow meet my older self, I'll probably do these things. One, obligatory bro-fist crap because he actually managed to get a god damn life. Two, ask him questions about said life, and ask if he still has some of the old interests from his last life. Lastly, punch him in the face for telling his god damn daughter that I was a hermit. "Uh, are you all right?"
"Oh, sorry, just thinking about something." I quickly say, it's possible I made a confusing expression or something with realizing it.
"Oh, what were you thinking about?" She asked with a curious look.
"Not much, I'm just wondering where things might go now that Infernus revealed himself." I partially lied. Despite my current concerns, I fear what might happen now that Infernus has revealed himself. For all I know he could be trying to convince Walhart to attack early, rendering us defenceless. Or he could be making a Soulion army of Plegia's dead soldiers to strike us down with.
"W-wait, d-did you just say I-Infernus, a-as in Infernus O-Omatsu?" She asked, all of a suddenly looking more panicked.
"Yeah, he's also the one who caused this." I said while pointing to my head. Alicia's eyes suddenly went dim, showing signs of nothing but despair and sadness in them. "Are you all right?" Her mouth started moving but no sound came out. The way her lips moved seemed to show she was trying to say something. All of a sudden she just collapsed. "OH SHIT!" I shouted, starting to panic. I quickly felt for a pulse to make sure she was still alive. After confirming she was still alive, I picked up her unconscious body and placed it on a bed. "I need to get some help." I mutter, starting to run out of the room to find someone, it didn't matter who I found, I just needed help.
I was running rampant through the halls, hoping to find someone walking around. To my misfortune there wasn't a trace of anyone. "God damn it, did they all go somewhere or something?" I mutter, still looking around frantically. I eventually reach an intersection and run right, hoping someone, anyone would be nearby.
(3rd person POV)
"Well, looks like my opportunity has finally presented itself. If this works I can dispose of Infernus and use his power to bring 'him' back." A figure muttered from the shadows. He quickly snuck into the room Tyler barged out of and looked at the unconscious form of Alicia. "Now, to recite the incantation." He extended both of his arms so they were above Alicia and began his chanting.
'Great darkness that lies within the heart.' The figure's hands start to glow dark purple.
'Heed thy call in thy target's weakest moment.' The dark purple glow grew in size by a small amount.
'And allow me control of her actions!'
"Corrupted essence." The figure whispered, transferring the dark energy to Alicia's head. "Heh, perfect." The figure commented, opening a window and jumping out. He pulled out a scythe and drove it into the wall, using it to keep him close enough to the window so he can close it. He pulled the scythe out of the wall and landed on the ground.
"Good, with her mind now corrupted by the spell, I just need to incite the incantation for hell's possession and I can have her attack Infernus' troops. This will cause him to retaliate, and its likely those fools will do the same, except they'll try to save her. It's at that moment when I'll finally remove my only obstacles from their pitiful lives. Now then, I should hurry back before suspicions arise." The figure said, putting the scythe on his back and running west.
(Tyler's POV)
"There she is." I say as I walk back into the room. I managed to somehow find Libra walking around, apparently he was going back to his room after some early morning prayers or something like that. I'm not a religious person so I wouldn't know.
"What kind of illness has befallen her?" Libra asked, doing a quick examination.
"I don't know. Like I said when I found you, her sudden collapse was unnatural. I have no idea if it was the work of a disease she could have contracted, or something else entirely." I answer, trying to stop myself from panicking.
"I'll do a more detailed examination in the medical tent then. I'll make sure to notify you should her condition worsen." Libra stated. I simply nodded in approval as he started to carry her to the medical tent, which I guess is right outside the building.
"I just hope she's safe in the end. It might have only been a few months since we first met, but she's still my daughter damn it." I say to myself once the room was empty. With a quick sigh, I decide to walk around a bit more, attempting to clear my mind so I can have a better chance of staying calm. I don't know why, but I think Alicia collapsing is only the beginning of something bigger and far worse.
*Northern Regna Ferox*
(? POV)
"Fucking hell, why did I choose Ferox of all places to drop off at?" I ask while breathing into my hands, hoping to warm them up, even a small bit is better than not at all. "*Sigh* I guess that's what I get for breaking the promise I made myself, but once Infernus revealed himself, I can't help but feel like something bad will happen."
I quickly pulled out a map and compass from a bag attached to the right side of my belt. I wonder if they actually have compasses here, I'll need to look around. If they don't, then this will be a nice thing to introduce to them.
"*achoo* God damn it." I comment as I wipe my nose. "So, I'm currently at the northern outpost, so I think I can get to Ylisse within a week. Then again, the amount of time I need to wait will likely change, depending on whether or not they stop to celebrate in the Feroxi capital. Damn it, there are too many variables." I groaned, starting to put my equipment away. I breathe into my hands once more, still feeling the intense cold, and to think this is tame.
"I better find an inn ASAP unless I want to completely freeze my ass off." I comment, walking south in an attempt to find an inn. To think, I went out of my way to make sure I didn't go through shit like this. Well, I can't be the total ruler of my life, unless I want to be a total fuck up. "Okay, better save my energy and stop bitching." I say, continuing my walk through the desolate snow wasteland.
A/N: Well, I did not expect to take this long to make a new chapter, but it's finally done. Looks like a certain someone finally decided to stop being in such a support heavy role, and what exactly is Alex planning to do that requires Alicia to be under his control? These questions and more will be answered in the (hopefully) near future.
