Chapter 38
Billy did not know what to think when Kim came running down to the lab, followed by Conner, Ethan, and Kira. He took note of Kim's worried expression.
"I don't like the look on your face. What's wrong?" Billy asked.
The three new Rangers looked at each in confusion.
"Yeah, where's Dr. O?" Conner asked.
Billy turned to the computer and began scanning the area. Ethan took notice of three vehicles.
"Wow. Are those…" he began to ask.
Billy turned and gave a laugh.
"The eggs you and Tommy retrieved? Yes," he answered.
He could still could not see how those three eggs had hatched and been tamed into riding bikes.
"So, what happened to Dr. O?" Conner asked.
Billy finished watching the computer. He had found what he had been looking for.
"He was captured by a pack of Tyranndrones," Billy told them.
He indicated the screen, which was showing security footage from outside the cyber café.
"What does Mesogog want with him?" Ethan asked.
"I think Zeltrax and Elsa found another dino gem," Billy said.
The three Rangers gave each other a worried look. That could not be good.
"And they want him to open it for them," Ethan said.
"Preciously," Billy replied.
"We can't let that happen" Kira said.
With that, the three transformed and set off to rescue their teacher and mentor.

Nothing could prepare for Kim what the news she received after Tommy had been saved.
"Kim, say something," Tommy said.
They stood in the living room, Kim's arms crossed.
"What do you want me to say?" she asked.
Her eyes moved to the new accessory on Tommy's wrist.
"Don't get angry with me," Tommy said.
"You're a Power Ranger again, Tommy. After we said we were done with all of this. I don't mind you mentoring. But this? Being back on duty," Kim replied.
Tommy sighed and took Kim in his arms when her eyes began to water.
"You know this wasn't my choice," he told her.
"I know. I know. The whole, the gem chooses you thing. Just keep yourself safe out there," Kim said.
Tommy looked Kim straight in the eyes as he placed their foreheads together.
"Always," he said. He leaned in pressed his lips with her. "Also, Billy and Mark are moving closer so he could help out, so that'll be a big help."

Kira and Ethan were sitting at the computer at the cyber café when someone walked up to them.
"Hi, I'm looking for Hayley," the boy said.
He was their age it looked like.
"She should be around here somewhere. What do you need her for?" Ethan asked.
"Oh, just asking about a job," the boy said.
Ethan then spotted her.
"There she is. You're new around here?" he asked.
"Yeah. Trent Fernandez," the boy said.
They shook hands.
"I'm Ethan. This is Kira," Ethan said.
"Hello," Trent replied. Kira did not answer. Her eyes stayed glued to the computer screen. "Is she okay?"
"We've been trying to get her to talk, but nothing works," Ethan said.
Kira finally turned around.
"I'm fine. It's nice to meet you," she replied.
Trent smiled and left.
"You okay?" Ethan asked.
He laughed. Kira could not keep her eyes off Trent.
"Fine," she said.

Conner eyed Trent when he walked into Tommy's class.
"So, that's your boyfriend?" Conner asked.
"My what?" She turned angrily at the boy next to her. "Ethan!"
"What?" he asked innocently.
Kira shook her head and said nothing more on the subject. It was not brought up again until later that Tommy and Kim's.
"He seems like a nice boy, Kira," Tommy said.
"He is," she replied with a sigh.
"Oh, do tell," Conner said.
Kira rolled her eyes.
"Who is this boy?" Kim asked.
"He's the new kid in our science class," Ethan said.
"So, he asked you out, then?" Conner asked.
"Yes, he did," Kira admitted. "He was adopted by that scientist, Anton Mercer."
Tommy's eyes grew, but he did not say anything at first.
"Didn't he die?" Ethan asked.
"Apparently he wasn't on the island at the time," Kira said.
They said goodbye and left. Kim could tell something was on Tommy's mind.
"Tommy, what's wrong?" Kim asked.
"Anton was on the island. If he did survive, why hasn't he contacted me?" he wondered.

Tommy had called Conner, Ethan, and Kira to an open field.
"Hey, Dr. Oliver. You wanted to see us?" Conner asked.
"It's another gem," Tommy told them.
"Awesome. So, where is it?" Ethan asked.
"Taken," Tommy said.
"Not again," Kira replied.
It was the black gem all over again.
"I want you three to keep a look out for anyone acting out of character," Tommy said.
They nodded.
"Got it," Ethan said.
However, they did not have much time for looking when the evil White Ranger appeared.
"Come on man. You're supposed to be one of us," Conner replied.
But the new Ranger did not seem to care. Kira began to wonder afterwards why the White Ranger could not attack her.
