A/N: So here's the identity of the mystery man! As always, please read and review!
Love to all, Lacey
"Hello, Jessica. I've been waiting a long time for this moment."
That voice. It sounded so familiar.
When the man stepped out of the shadows and locked eyes with her, Jessie nearly fainted.
Oh my God.
"Who are you?" The blonde stood frozen, suspiciously looking back at the mystery man.
The man stepped forward with a smile, two scars cutting his cheeks much like Chibs's scars. "Hello, Jessie girl, I'm Jimmy O'Phelan. I'm your da."
Tears begin to fill Jessie's eyes, her mouth dropping open in surprise. "Are you kidding me? You're dead!"
"No, darling, I'm very much alive!" He smiled again, a warm smile this time that somehow calmed Jessie.
This was Jimmy O'Phelan, hated enemy of the Sons of Anarchy. Shouldn't she be running to call Jax? Doing something other than standing here crying? But this was her dad. Her real dad she never thought she'd meet.
"How? Chibs killed you!" Jessie was more confused than she'd ever been in her life, barely able to think clearly.
Jimmy stepped closer to her, gently putting a hand on her shoulder. "Come, sit down and let's chat. It's been a long time since I saw my only daughter." He led her to the desk across the room, pulling out one of the folding chairs for her and letting her sit. Then he pulled out the other chair, sitting across from her and patting her knee. "You're beautiful, just like yer ma, Jessie."
"I still can't believe you're here." It was the strangest mix of emotions Jessie had ever felt in her life, contempt for the man who'd done so many horrible things that Jax had told her about, but undescribable love for the man who was her father. Before she could stop herself, she'd lurched forward and had her arms around Jimmy's neck. "You're my father."
Jimmy hugged her back, one hand stroking her long hair. "Aye, I am." They sat like that for a minute more, Jessie finally sitting back and wiping the tears from her face.
"I don't know what to say right now." She laughed, unsure of what to think or say or feel.
"Tell me what you've been doing all these years." Jimmy sat back in the chair, waiting expectantly for her to answer.
"I've been getting in more trouble than's good for me." They both laughed at her statement, Jimmy winking at his daughter.
"Just like yer father, aye, Jessie girl?"
The blonde crossed her arms, looking over her father. It still seemed strange to think of him as that. "Where've you been?"
"I've been right here. As ya already know, the Kings are after me, and I've been hiding out since leaving America back when Filip 'killed' me, as ya said. Turns out, Filip didn't quite accomplish his job, and I made it through. A little worse for the wear, but still in one piece and kickin'." With a laugh, Jimmy continued. "And I've been hoping one day ya'd find out about me and yer ma and then I'd see ya again."
"Why did she never tell me about you? Why did she lie to me my whole life?" Now seemed like the perfect time for Jessie to get her answers.
"It's a bit of a long tale, Jessie girl."
He wasn't getting off that easily with her. "I have time. I want to know the truth."
Jimmy sighed, then decided she wasn't going anywhere without the truth. "I know ya already know most of the details, so let me start when I went to America. That was when I met Claire. Sweet little Claire. She was nothing like yer ma, all sweet and innocent and docile, like a little lamb. I don't know what came over me, but I decided she was the woman I wanted. So I married 'er before I went back to Ireland, and when I got home and told yer ma about it, Christ sakes, she raised an awful fit with me. She had a fiery temper, yer ma did, and I'm sure ya've got it too. I told her we couldn't be together anymore, and she went crazy, told me she was going to the States to find Claire. I didn't believe her, but she took ya and the two of ya disappeared one morning. Later on, I found out she'd went to Charming, where Claire was. Well I hopped the first plane to California, and when I got there, I found out Claire had been killed. Turns out, it was yer ma that had done it."
Jessie's face went white, and her mouth dropped open. "Mom killed someone?"
Nodding, Jimmy continued. "She was in a jealous rage, and she shot Claire right there in her own house. The Kings were none too pleased when I told them about it, and they started a hunt for Pammy. By the time they found her, she was already married to Michael James, the man she said was your father. John Teller was the President of the Sons then, and he told Declan that if a finger was laid on Pammy, every single Sons of Anarchy member from all over the world would be on their doorstep for revenge. It was one of the few times JT ever had a backbone." Jimmy snickered. "But Pammy knew what would happen to her if she ever stepped away from the Sons, she'd have no protection. She lived 'er whole life in fear of me and the Kings. I kept up with her, mostly to keep an eye on ya. But it finally got to her, and Pammy killed herself."
"What?!" Jessie was pale, looking shocked at his words. "My mom didn't kill herself! It was an accident!"
Jimmy shook his head sadly. "I hated to believe it as much as ya do, Jessie girl. But it was no accident. Yer ma got so tired of running from the Kings that she purposefully ran 'er car into that guardrail. She was just like John Teller. It got to be too much for her to bear, and she took the easiest way out. Michael made up the sickness to cover up what she'd done and to protect you and Weston."
As the information slowly sank in, a fresh set of tears began slipping down Jessie's face, unable to believe that her mother, her beautiful, strong, fierce mother, had been been so scared of a group of men that she'd willingly drove her car into a guardrail and killed herself to escape them. Did she really not love her and Weston enough to live? A sob escaped her before she could stop herself, and Jimmy leaned forward to hug his daughter tightly.
"I shouldn't have told ya the whole story today, darling, I figured it would be too much for ya. I'm sorry."
"No, no, I needed to hear that." The blonde managed to calm herself slightly, catching a glimpse of her watch and jumping to her feet. "It's late, I have to go!" All the emotion was too much to handle at once, and she just wanted to get out of there.
"You'll come back to see yer da, yeah?" Jimmy questioned as she started towards the door, and Jessie stopped briefly.
"Of course. I already missed enough, I need to know at least one parent as they really are." She smiled slightly, again hugging her father.
"It's nice to meet you, Dad."
"Nice to meet ya too, Jessie girl. See ya soon."
They parted, and Jessie hurried out of the warehouse, wiping the remaining tears off her face and trying to look calm and presentable as she exited the warehouse and headed for Trinity's car. When she got in the car, the other woman looked over at her with a smirk. "Jesus Christ, I was about to call Jax if ya didn't soon come out of there! Who was it that wanted to meet ya?"
With a smile and a laugh, Jessie shook her head. "It was no one, just one of my mother's old friends who I hadn't seen in forever. Decided it'd be easier to meet here than anywhere else. Nothing too important."
Trinity raised an eyebrow at her explanation, but said nothing, instead starting the car and turning around to head back to Belfast. "Made me drive three bloody hours for a friend of yer ma's! Ya could've just invited 'em to the house!"
"Next time I will, don't worry!" Jessie smiled, trying to keep up the facade of being fine. But as Trinity drove back to Belfast, Jessie stared out the window, thinking of what Jimmy had told her and trying to comprehend it.
Her mother had killed herself? She couldn't imagine her mother being that scared of anyone. She'd always been so brave! But then again, Jessie knew how dangerous the Kings were. Why had Michael never told her the truth about her mom? What was she going to do now? Jax would never let Jimmy anywhere near her, no matter if he was her father or not. She'd have to find a way to see him. She had to know the whole story.
Finally she managed to calm her thoughts, leaning her head against the window and attempting to nap before they got back to Belfast.
How would she ever explain all this to Jax?
